In 1950 the first plastic hip operation in the United States was performed by Dr. W.R. MacAusland at Carney Hospital. In 1953, the hospital moved from South Boston to its present location in Dorchester. The hospital became one of the first in USA to establish community health centers in 1973. Next year, Carney Hospital provided the first medical emergency rooftop helistop in Massachusetts.

Glens Falls Hospital School of Nursing was established a few years later, although it closed in the 1930s as a result of the Great Depression. The hospital's name was officially changed to Glens Falls Hospital in 1909. The hospital has undergone several expansion projects, notably: a west wing was added in 1950; an east wing in 1962; a west tower in 1975; the Pruyn Pavilion in 1993; and the Northwest Tower in 2005. In 2011, a helistop was constructed outside the Emergency Care Center to provide more efficient air transfers to other medical centers.

A new operating structure for the LDS Church Hospitals came about in July 1970, with the formation of Health Services Corporation. Contributions began to flow into the very successful Foundation. A special procedures operating room was endowed, along with a new dining room, a helistop on the hospital grounds close to the Emergency Room entrance and a mural for the lobby of the McKay. Six young doctors began three-year family practice residencies on July 1, which ended the well-established internship program begun at the Dee in 1912.

Day of the Dead Locations - Fort Myers, Florida The fenced in compound with the helicopter landing pad was shot at a location called Bowman's Beach Helistop in Sanibel. Underground scenes were filmed in a former mine shaft located near Wampum, Pennsylvania, converted into a long-term storage facility for important documents. Though the mine maintained a constant temperature of about , its high humidity played havoc with the crew's equipment and props. Mechanical and electrical failures were a constant problem throughout filming, and caused several of special effects leader Tom Savini's props to fail during the filming.

Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento underwent a major expansion to relocate all major services to one advanced medical campus. The new campus features the new Anderson Lucchetti Women’s and Children’s Center, a 242-bed, 10-story building. It also features a helistop on the roof just off Capital City Freeway, which allows helicopters to transport severely injured and sick patients for treatment, mostly newborn and pediatric patients. Now fully renovated, Sutter General Hospital has been renamed the Ose Adams Medical Pavilion – a five-story, 257-bed facility that includes 24 operating rooms, two new cardiac cath labs, two new electrophysiology labs, five angiography rooms, 106 recovery beds, state-of-the-art digital Imaging Department, emergency services expansion with larger waiting areas, more treatment rooms, and dedicated CT scanner and other imaging equipment, and the addition of a children-only emergency room, and the new home of Sutter Heart and Vascular Institute, in addition to tertiary services including orthopedics, neuroscience, bariatrics and oncology.

Announced in 2002, construction of the facility—which was designed in the mold of the Spanish-inspired architectural style of Country Club Plaza, and built by Oklahoma City-based architecture firm Rees and Associates, which also designed the studio facilities of sister stations WDSU in New Orleans and WESH in Orlando—began in June 2005, and was completed in early August 2007. The modern purpose-built concrete and glass studio facility incorporates a master control facility with digital and high definition transmission processing equipment; a two-story production studio; an expanded newsroom; a satellite management center supporting downlink and uplink capabilities; a helistop for KMBC's "NewsChopper 9" helicopter; and surface parking for station employees and guests. The move of operations of KMBC and KCWE formally migrated to the Winchester Avenue studio ended KMBC's 54-year tenure at the Lyric Theatre, which had earlier been sold by the Lyric Opera to real estate firm DST Realty.
