In January 2019, upon her return to San Diego after ministering to migrants in Tijuana, she was stopped by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at the San Ysidro Port of Entry and held for questioning. Following, Douša alleges that she was put on a watch list of more than 50 people who have worked on the migrant crisis currently developing at the U.S.-Mexico border, a process which she says led to an unlawful revoking of her Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection pass. On July 2, 2019, Amnesty International called for an end to border surveillance programs, referencing Douša's case. In July 2019, Dousa filed the federal case Douša v.

Meanwhile, Fred has tracked down two hoodlums who claim to have been working with Birch. On discovering that Fred is a private investigator they attempt to torture him for information, but Archie, Saul and Orrie — who have been independently following either Fred or the hoodlums — manage to rescue him. Saul confirms that one of the hoodlums, “Lips” Egan, is the blackmailer, and a notebook in his pocket reveals the existence of a blackmail ring targeting poor, illegal immigrants. Before the investigators can interrogate the hoodlums further, Horan arrives unexpectedly at Egan’s base of operations. Archie takes Horan and the hoodlums to Wolfe’s office, where they are held for questioning by Wolfe and Inspector Cramer.

On the 14 September 2010 Delarue was held for questioning in the context of an extensive investigation carried out by the Hauts-de-Seine police into major drug trafficking. Delarue came to the attention of the investigators after their enquiries revealed he was a significant consumer of cocaine, purchasing large quantities of the drug. The same evening he offered an explanation for the events in a message recorded at the studios of France 2, a few hours after his release, during which he stated that he was receiving treatment for his drug use and apologised for setting a bad example. The following week France Télévisions took the decision to suspend Delarue for a provisional, indeterminate period so that he could receive treatment and rest and recuperate.

The public did however indicate approval of Blair's handling of the attacks, with his approval rating moving into positive territory for the first time in five years. Proposed laws to cope with the threat of terrorism proved extremely controversial; an amendment to require that glorifying terrorism be deliberate to be an offence was rejected in the House of Commons by just three votes (a result initially announced as a one-vote margin, due to a miscount). The proposal to allow terrorist suspects to be held for questioning for up to 90 days was defeated on 9 November by a margin of 31 with 49 Labour MPs voting against the government.

During the tenth season, Pratt was supposedly fired by the frustrated Dr. Romano, whom he had been bumping heads with ever since Romano took over the ER. This was based on bogus allegations that Romano was collecting because of his overall dislike of Dr. Pratt, planning to build them up until he had enough ammunition to get rid of Pratt for good. However, Romano never got to present these findings before the hospital director since he never showed up at the conference (unbeknownst to the others, he had been killed minutes earlier by a helicopter that crashed in the ambulance bay and crushed him).
