Despite divided opinions among religious and conservative commentators, the album was well received by music critics, who praised the varying musical styles and Gaga's vocals; others felt Gaga was trying too hard to please everyone through the album's self- empowerment message. Several music publications included the album in their year-end best-of lists. Born This Way received three Grammy Award nominations, including Gaga's third consecutive nomination for Album of the Year.
Then in December 1985, Nelson was tragically killed in a plane crash. After Nelson's death, CBS wanted to release the album but decided to turn it over to Steve Buckingham in Nashville for re-vamping rather than its original supervisor, Larry Rogers. Buckingham's reconstruction of the album involved transferring the material from 16 track analog to 48 track digital tape, replacing the old drum parts with "hotter" drums, and replacing the guitar parts with a cleaner Fender Telecaster sound. Nevertheless, a controversy arose as to whether hard-to-please Nelson himself would have allowed the release.
Since its release, the album has received mixed reviews. Robert Copsey from Digital Spy gave the album 3 stars (out of 5), saying that "Euphoria fits between the sentimental Iglesias of the 'Hero' and 'Bailamos' era and the new, Down With The Kids Enrique. The latter is generally more entertaining, with the robotic vocal effects and rave-tinged production, but the end result here is not necessarily what Iglesias may have intended". He finished the review saying that "Euphoria is a mixed bag of a record which tries a little too hard to please the disparate elements of his fanbase".
Jaya begins to develop feelings towards Jai but still feels he is not the right choice for her. Jai uses a clever ruse now of Gyanchand Mahabapu (who is none other than Deepak) to convince Jaya to marry Jai. Though Jai tries hard to please her like before, Jaya is still unwilling to marry Jai because of her doubts about him and his family. In a series of new events, however, when Jaya agrees to marry Jaiveer, the plan flops as Gyanchand/Deepak mistakenly fixes the wedding date in 2018 when Jaya is still living in the year 2012[due to her amnesia].

Flatly and unequivocally the equal of anything (Presley) has ever done" and praised the "evident passion which (Presley) has invested in this music", adding: "(he) is trying, and trying very hard, to please us. he needs to have our attention ... It is his involvement after all which comes as the surprise." Billboard also published a positive review, saying that Presley had "never sounded better, and the choice of material is perfect".

The appointment of Dikko has been interpreted by some as an attempt by the emir to insulate himself from having to interact directly with the British, it has also been accused by some to be a plot by the emir, because Dikko might offend the British, and he might be taken away, ridding the emir of a powerful potential rival. However, Dikko tried hard to please the British and earn their trust.
A prologue introduces us to Dr. Austin Sloper (Albert Finney), a New York City doctor and resident of a large house on Washington Square whose wife dies in childbirth, leaving a daughter, Catherine (Jennifer Jason Leigh), to be raised by her father. As a child, Catherine is overweight, clumsy, and untalented; however, she is also a sweet, affectionate child. The staff included fellow columnists: serious minded researcher Gretchen (Simone Griffeth); Susan (Allison Argo), a militant feminist; and romantic minded reporter Andrea Gibbons (Betty Kennedy); and all were supervised by the magazine's hard-to-please and somewhat dominating editor, Elaine Holstein (Sorel).
Production of the track was handled by Narada Michael Walden and coordinated by Kim Skalecki. Bolton admitted that it was difficult for the song to be produced as Streisand "had protective and hard-to-please producers who screened all the material sent to her" before she had the chance to record it; however, after meeting with Streisand's friend and collaborator Jay Landers, it was finalized that Streisand would record it and release it as her next single. The 2001 incarnation makes use of its longer running time and episode format to explore the original mythos and works the characters' back-stories into the narrative through the use of flashbacks. Bamboo Dong of Anime News Network finds that the series "tries hard to please everyone, and comes daringly close to succeeding." Zac Bertschy comments that "the animation quality is consistently very high" and that the characters are "never off model" and "each episode is animated with an amazing flash of style and fluidity". Though the manga has some elements that neither the film, nor the TV series had adapted, each is treated more or less as its own interpretation of events, especially when it comes to how each adaptation ends.

Kelcey Wixtrom of CM Addict rated the album a four out of five stars, stating that "Francesca's passion and heart for worship is evident on this song, and ultimately through the entirety of the album." At The Sound Opinion, Lindsay Williams rated the album a perfect five stars, saying that "The album showcases Battistelli's ability to pen shimmering pop songs filled with relatable lyrics, making Franny feel more like a friend than an award-winning pop songstress." Timothy Yap at Hallels gave a generally positive review of the album, which he notes that the album tries to hard to please radio making the music feel not unique, however "it's spiritually deep enough that will get us ruminating, drawing us closer to the Savior.
It hit Roots Music Report's radio charts at #1, Relix/Jambands radio chart at #3 and #4 on the Americana Music Association's radio chart, where it currently remains in the top ten. American Songwriter summed it up as "a soulful mix of upbeat Americana and tender ballads," while Vanity Fair noted that "their sound continues to cross generations and musical genres – country, folk, blues and add in a touch of the Dead, for good measure." Beginning with the release tour for "Hard to Please" the touring band was expanded to a six piece, with players Mike Seal (Jeff Sipe Trio, Larkin Poe), Megan McCormick (Jenny Lewis, Maren Morris, the everybodyfields) and Dustin Schaefer trading parts on electric guitar; Sam Quinn (the everybodyfields) on bass; and Jonathan Keeney (Robinella) on pedal steel. In October 2016, vocalist Trisha Gene Brady announced that she would be leaving the band to pursue other musical opportunities.

The two had met in early 1980, with an initial live performance together in May 1982 under the name Six Hip Princes,According to Sudden, "A local music paper reviewed the show and wrote, 'There were only four of them, they weren't hip and they certainly weren't princes...' Well, some people are hard to please." but it was not until 1984, after Sudden had already issued two solo releases, that the duo adopted the name Jacobites (after the rebel movement to restore the Stuart line to the British thrones) and completed the lineup by adding Nikki's brother Epic Soundtracks, also formerly of the Swell Maps, and bassist Mark Lemon. The Jacobites were a more traditional, song-oriented outfit than the Swell Maps had been. Sudden and Kusworth were both strongly influenced by The Faces, Bob Dylan, glam rock, and, most vitally, The Rolling Stones. Band- member Sudden called the Stones "the best band there has ever been" and was working on a Ronnie Wood bio at the time of his death, combined with their velvet-and-scarves style of dressing and their girls-and-drugs style of living, made for a natural comparison with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
