Serge, who has been researching biotech chickens and GMO reactions on rats with fellow scientist Jacob, discovers the chickens to be dead and looks through Jacob's computer for any information. He finds information, exposing the dangers of the project, prints it, puts it into a box, and into the trunk of his car. He calls Sophie to tell her, but she is stressed after finding out that Eddie works as a cop for the GMO corporation, Clonestra. She refuses to speak with him and hangs up on him. Serge gets into his car and begins to drive to Sophie‘s house to show her the information.

Jan Levinson-Gould, as Vice President of Sales at Dunder Mifflin, has a no- nonsense management style that is at odds with Michael's more casual approach. Since her office is in New York, Jan's contact with the Scranton branch is largely by telephone, although she will make the two-and-a-half-hour drive to Scranton if necessary. She usually asks if she's on camera when talking to Michael on the speaker phone, and Michael often lies and tells her she is not, before admitting that they are—at which point she hangs up on him. While initially based on Jennifer Taylor-Clarke from the UK version, her character develops in a different direction.

In Avengers: Infinity War, Ross still intends to prosecute Rogers and his team for violating the Accords, despite being aware of Zemo's actions and the threat Thanos poses to Earth. This alienates Rhodes (who now sees that the Accords have caused more harm than good), who hangs up on Ross instead of arresting the fugitives as ordered. Lang and Barton avoid prosecution by agreeing to the government's terms and taking a plea deal, explaining their absence in the film. In Ant-Man and the Wasp, Lang is placed under house arrest as part of his plea deal, while Hope van Dyne and her father Hank Pym are forced into hiding due to their technology being involved in the conflict.

The music video features Coolio napping on his front porch, when he gets a phone call from his friend Spoon that wakes him. Spoon asks about taking a trip to the beach, to which an annoyed Coolio responds "we ain't got no car" and hangs up on him. Suddenly a mysterious magician man with a '70s style suit, afro, and cane appears and turns the blue bicycle sitting upside down on Coolio's driveway into a blue 1965 Chevrolet Impala convertible car with hydraulics. Now with a means of transportation, Coolio and his crew head to the beach, while picking up people along the way by letting them ride inside the car's trunk.

Martina, Dawson and Doughy leave the house, where they find Boner still alive, due to him taking an entire bottle of viagra, allowing his blood to continue to pump after his heart attack. As Martina and Dawson leave, they get a call from the killer, but Dawson hangs up on him and he follows them. After the end credits, there's a tag called "Where The Hell Are They Now?" that reveals events about Dawson and Martina, Slab, Barbara, Nurse Kevorkian, Mr. Buchanan and Resusci-Annie, Boner and his doctor (who's a transgender), Mr. Hasselhof, Hagitha, Doughy, the Killer, and the movie's film crew, and that the high school has a new and improved killer.

In the sober light of day, Max despises Roxy and goes out of his way to be cruel to her in hope she will divorce him. His and Al's various attacks on her spirit go nowhere, but suddenly luck is on Max's side when Roxy vanishes one day. She tries calling him, but he hangs up on her each time, feeling only slight pangs of remorse. A few days later, Max finds out that Roxy is being held hostage and was nearly killed by Allison Perkins, but he is more interested in keeping Roxy out of the way a bit longer to claim abandonment and win a fast divorce with his fortune intact.

First, she can't get any reception with her cell phone on the street. Then, Jerry interrupts her with news of the pilot pickup and Elaine hangs up on Jill to take the call. Jerry then scolds her for trying to rush the call before they all leave for Paris, and for thinking about calling from the plane. On the plane that is piloted by Captain Mattox and his co-pilot Kurt Adams, George and Elaine argue over the quality of the plane and what Elaine considers an "effeminate" way in which George sits in the jet, while Kramer is still trying to get water out of his ears from a trip to the beach he made earlier in the day.

Later in "A Hole in the World", after Fred dies, Angel phones Giles, desperate to get in contact with Willow, who cannot be located. After Angel confirms that he still works for Wolfram & Hart, Giles coldly hangs up on him. Originally, Giles was to appear in "A Hole in the World" as the one whom Angel and Spike approached in an attempt to save Fred, because Whedon needed a character who would be instantly believed (by the characters and by the audience) when he said there was no way to save Fred. As it was too expensive for Anthony Stewart Head to fly out to Los Angeles to guest-star, Whedon created Drogyn the Battlebrand, who was mystically compelled to tell the truth.

In the middle of the Bible Belt, in Austin, Texas, every Sunday a group of secular humanists debates on the cable- TV show The Atheist Experience religion and beliefs. Matt Dillahunty, one of the hosts of the webcast, appears to be especially harsh in debunking unfounded beliefs and even brings one of the Christian callers to rather come out as an advocate for slavery than distancing himself from the Bible. Repeatedly Dillahunty hangs up on callers when no progress is made in discussion and when the caller is inherently being dishonest or using fallacious arguments to rationalize beliefs. Besides the atheist community Mission Control Texas shows bizarre worship ceremonies, a rodeo, miraculous healing and the distribution of groceries at a food bank.

Madam Gypsie capitalises on the situation by using it as a marketing opportunity for her business (although the information she gave Jennifer turned out to be useless.) Howard and Leslie go to bed that night and Howard admits that he's been a schmuck, a jerk, (and an asshole) and promises to be more attentive and loving to Leslie in the future. Just as Jennifer is going to bed she receives a late night phone call from Stacey who, (citing issue #43, October 1978 of Fangoria magazine), says that unless a formal exorcism is performed on the deceased werewolf, the one who slayed it would become a werewolf within 24 hours. Exhausted, Jennifer hangs up on her and yawns to reveal long protruding fangs.

Upon hearing the news, Leslie decides to throw Ann a goodbye party and start groundbreaking on "Pawnee Commons", the lot that was a pit at the start of the series, which Leslie vowed to turn into a park. On Ann and Chris' final day in Pawnee, Ann tells Leslie she will always be her best friend and invites her to come and visit, then she and Chris leave Pawnee until moving back in the final episode of season 7. On "Galentine's Day", Ann hangs up on Leslie from their scheduled phone call. Leslie later finds out that Ann did this because she was in labor and didn't want Leslie to drop everything to come see her because she could be in labor for hours.

Luke overhears Jason talking on a phone, saying that no one knows he works for the Population Police. Realizing that Jason is a traitor and planning to betray members of the group, Luke knocks him unconscious and leaves him with the school nurse. Luke then calls Mr. Talbot, who works for the Population Police, but sabotages them whenever he can, and tries to tell him what is happening but Mr. Talbot seems not to understand and hangs up on him. The next morning at breakfast, a Population Police officer comes into the dining hall and announces that he has a warrant for the arrest of illegal third children, but before he can read the names on his list Mr. Talbot arrives with Jason following behind him, in chains.
