The Serie B of the Brazilian Championship 2014 is a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the second division. It is contested by 20 clubs, between April 18 and November 28. The top four teams will be promoted to Série A in 2015 and the last four will be relegated to Série C in 2015. The games had a break during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which was held between June and July in Brazil.

Tangradi, originally from the Philadelphia area, played High School Hockey for Archbishop Carroll and won a Pennsylvania State AA Championship in 2004 over 2-time champions Peters Township and played one season for Wyoming Seminary Prep School in Kingston, Pennsylvania. He played three seasons of junior hockey with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League. In 2008, Tangradi was named captain of the Bulls team. In 2008-09, Tangradi had a break-out junior season, posting 38 goals and 88 points in just 55 games.

Viktor Ivanovich Mednov (, 27 November 1927 – 22 June 2009) was a Russian boxer from the Soviet Union who won a silver medal in the light welterweight division at the 1952 Olympics. He had a difficult second bout with Francisc Ambrus of Romania, with Mednov prevailing when the referee stopped the bout due to bad cuts sustained by both opponents. Just four days after his win on the flat at Thirsk, National Spirit reappeared over hurdles at Wolverhampton, winning the Walsall Handicap Hurdle by two lengths from Scottish Welcome. A month later, he won the Princess Elizabeth Handicap Hurdle at Doncaster by five lengths from Legend Of Rank. National Spirit then had a break from racing, and reappeared in the Champion Hurdle Challenge Cup at the Cheltenham Festival in April. National Spirit was moderately fancied at 7/1, as also in the field were French favourite Le Paillon (who would go on to win the 1947 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe) and 1946 Champion Hurdle winner Distel.

Joseph had a break-out year during the 2006 season as he became a regular starter and provided seven goals for Caledonia AIA. Kareem followed with an additional two league goals in 2007. He also featured in Caledonia AIA's cup successes in 2008 having scored eight goals in all competitions to lead his club to their first FA Trophy and Pro Bowl titles. He followed with eight additional goals throughout the 2009 TT Pro League competition calendar. Granger was drafted as the first pick of the fifth-round (37th Overall) of the 1966 AFL Draft by the Houston Oilers. Granger rushed for 388 yards and one touchdown in his rookie season while also accounting for 104 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. In his second season in 1967 he moved to fullback and had a break-out season, rushing the ball 236 times for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns plus 300 yards and three touchdowns receiving. He was named an AFL All-Star that year and led the league in yards from scrimmage that season with 1,494 and was second in rushing yards.

Born in Blackburn, he played for Blackburn Rovers and was part of the team that won the FA Cup in three successive seasons between 1884 and 1886 (captaining the side in 1885 and 1886 ), as well as appearing on the side which lost in 1882. He scored goals in both the 1885 and 1886 cup finals. Brown had a break from football from 1886-1888 but returned to Rovers to play in the inaugural Football League season of 1888–1889. Noir Désir, a French rock group, have released six studio albums, thirteen singles, two live albums, one live DVD, four compilation albums, and one remix album. In 1985 Noir Désir were signed up by Barclay Records, releasing the mini-album Ou veux-tu que je r'garde two years later. In 1989 they had a break through success with their debut full length album Veuillez rendre l'âme (à qui elle appartient), which contained the hit single Aux sombres héros de l'amer. They went on to release the less successful album Du ciment sous les plaines in 1991, but in 1992 Tostaky gained enormous critical acclaim and was a commercial hit as well.

This also translated to success on the roads: she came sixth at the 2004 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships and led a team of Bezunesh Bekele and Teyba Erkesso to the gold medal. The German Cross Country Championships () is an annual cross country running competition that serves as Germany's national championship for the sport. It is usually held in March. It was first held in 1891 and featured a men's long course race only. The competition had a break during 1914 and 1918 due to World War I and it ceased to be held after 1937 as a result of World War II. Following the occupation and division of Germany, the two German states set up separate national cross country championships. The Western side of the country restarted the championship in 1947 and this formally became the West German Cross Country Championships upon the nation's creation in 1949.

Hurdzan was commissioned ROTC Second Lieutenant into the United States Army in 1966, and was serving in the Chemical Corps until 1967 when he had a break from active duty to attend graduate school at University of Vermont. On his return to active duty, Hurdzan completed the Chemical Officer Basic Course in 1972 and continued to serve with the Chemical Corps until it was disbanded in 1973. He then selects to serve with the Special Forces, and subsequently completed – within the same year, 1973 – the Reserve Component Special Forces Qualification Course, Basic Airborne Course and Infantry Officer Basic Course. He was promoted to Captain in 1974, and completed the Psychological Officer Basic Course in 1975.

Dundee United goalkeeper Radosław Cierzniak saved a penalty from Celtic substitute James Forrest Celtic set up with Kris Commons and Anthony Stokes as wide attackers behind Leigh Griffiths and had chances early on: Jarosław Fojut cleared a cross over the Dundee United crossbar and captain Seán Dillon deflected a Virgil van Dijk header off the goalline. Dundee United had a break when Stefan Johansen gave the ball away to Ryan Dow who ran up the pitch, but did not have enough support to create an opportunity at goal. Griffiths intercepted a backwards pass from Callum Morris, but hit the side netting. When Dillon was off the pitch receiving treatment following a collision with Van Dijk, Celtic opened the scoring.

While L-KO never had a break-out star as prominent as Charlie Chaplin, in nearly every other way it was successful in competing with Keystone; moreover, as Mack Sennett broke with the Triangle Film Corporation in July, 1917, L-KO managed to outlast Keystone by a year. However, it remains an extremely obscure Silent Comedy brand. Although L-KO produced around 300 titles in its five-year existence; little more than 10 percent of these films are known to exist today. Given Lehrman's preference for violent sight gags and Ritchie's confrontational style of humor, surviving L-KO films stand as some of the edgiest and darkest entries in the annals of American Silent Comedy.

If local government has influence over the construction of railways, some may see it as desirable for trains (and passengers) to stop in rather than pass through their town. Franke started his professional career with the Dutch powerhouse ZZ Leiden in the 2013–14 season. In December he transferred to lower-ranked Challenge Sports Rotterdam, where he could get more playing time. In the 2014–15 season, Franke had a break-out year. He was the youngest scoring champion in the history of the Dutch DBL, after he recorded 19.6 points per game at age 19. He also won the DBL MVP Under 23 and DBL Most Improved Player Awards. Gee was drafted by the New York Mets in the 21st round of the Major League Baseball draft and began his professional career with the Class-A Brooklyn Cyclones of the New York–Penn League. He initially worked mostly out of the bullpen yet by season's end, Gee was starting and amassed a 3-1 record with a 2.28 ERA as a starter. In 2008, Gee had a break out year with the Class-A St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League (FSL), winning the Sterling Award and being named to the FSL All-Star team. Later in 2008, Gee was promoted to the Class-AA Binghamton Mets of the Eastern League where he went 2-0 with a 1.33 ERA in 4 games.

Since arriving in France, the 137th Infantry had suffered 1,183 casualties, consisting of 177 killed, 946 wounded, and 40 missing in action.

In 2008, Kevin Morby of Woods and Cassie Ramone of the Vivian Girls shared a small apartment in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn for a few months and wrote some songs. After meeting again in a house party, the two decided to start a band. The idea was to recapture the early, stress-free days of playing music before they were both in groups that had gained some success and created accompanying pressures. Despite the intention, nothing much came of the idea until the next winter when both bands again had a break. Justin Sullivan, who had played with Ramone in Bossy, began practicing with them on drums, and The Babies debuted as a three-piece in March 2009 at Dead Herring, their friends’ loft in Brooklyn.

Brennand also featured in the Lancashire Cup but was unable to help Fylde make the final as they went out to rivals Preston Grasshoppers (playing in the division below) disappointing 24–25 defeat at the Woodlands. With the defeat went the club's last chance to win the Lancashire Cup as the competition was discontinued the following season due to the number of teams that pulled out of games as they prioritised league matches instead. At the season's end Brennand had a break from rugby with Lancashire who were taking part in the 2013 Bill Beaumont Cup – the first time in five years that he had not featured at the county championships. On July 13, 2016, after testing free agency, Schultz returned to the Penguins, signing a one-year, $1.4 million contract. With the Missions, he went 1–0 with a 4.09 ERA in two games, and with the Beavers he went 1–0 with a 1.50 ERA in one game. Frieri had a break-out year in 2009 playing for the Missions and the Padres. With the Missions, he went 10–9 with a 3.59 ERA with 118 strikeouts in 140 innings pitched appearing in 27 games, 26 for starts. On November 4, 1962, Randle had at the time the second best game statistically by a wide receiver in NFL history as he caught 16 passes for 256 yards in a game against the New York Giants. He finished the season with 63 receptions for 1,158 yards, 8 touchdown catches and was named second-team All-Pro by UPI. Randle once again passed the 1,000-yard receiving mark in 1963, finishing with 51 receptions for 1,014 yards and 12 touchdowns (fourth on the league).
