She and Boone were raised in the mental asylum by a depressed Gigi who grieved for 3 years over her sister Amy's suicide but managed to improve and taught the children how to be serial killers so that they can conduct their 20 year long plan for revenge against Kappa Kappa Tau.

Gigi Caldwell is portrayed by Nasim Pedrad. Gigi Caldwell, born Jess Meyer (Nasim Pedrad), was Kappa Kappa Tau's national president and the foster mother of Hester Ulrich and Boone Clemens, the bathtub babies she raised in the Palmer Asylum. Her name was originally Jess Meyer, the sister of Amy who took care of the babies but she killed herself leading to Jess taking care of them. Towards the end of 1995, she had a mental breakdown about her sister's suicide and she was sent to Palmer Asylum and grieved for three years but managed to improve and taught Hester and Boone how to be serial killers so they could conduct their revenge plan against Kappa House.

Explanation of forgiveness includes how the one giving forgiveness, not just the wrongdoer, will be freed of the "power of Darkness". In reality, the Eldest (the fallen spirits, demons, the third of the angels that fell from heaven) have suffered and will suffer the most in total for the evil done and from the millions of years they have been without contact to God, their Father, convinced under the influence of Darkness, that God would not forgive but even do away with them. Clarification is made, though, that God had only grieved for them and longed for their return. The idea of a "wrath filled, vengeful God" came about by the workings of the fallen ones themselves.

Hester Ulrich was born in October 1995 as Hester Doyle, the daughter of Kappa pledge Sophia Doyle, who died from blood loss after giving birth in the bathtub due to the neglect of the sorority president and her minions. She and her twin, Boone, were raised in a mental asylum by a depressed Gigi Caldwell, who grieved for 3 years over her sister Amy's suicide. Gigi managed to improve enough to teach the children how to be serial killers, so that they can conduct their 20-year-long plan for revenge against Kappa Kappa Tau. Hester stole an asylum patient's neck brace (and presumably killed them) for her disguise, and her brother pretended to be gay.

Later in 1994, 5th Passage received a ten-month offer to curate shows at vacant shop units in the Pacific Plaza shopping centre, which the initiative took up. Here, Victor produced a series of performative installations that grieved for the silencing of 5th Passage and all Singapore artists. Victor's works from this series, such as His Mother is a Theatre and Expense of Spirit in a Waste of Shame were acquired by the Singapore Art Museum as soon as it was shown, becoming significant works within Singapore's history of contemporary art. Around a year after 5th Passage's programmes at Pacific Plaza, the founder-directors of the initiative left for further studies and the group disbanded, with Victor leaving for Australia.

Empress Xu was the daughter of Xu Jia (許嘉), the Marquess of Ping'en and the brother of Emperor Xuan's first wife Empress Xu Pingjun, who was the mother of Emperor Yuan. Emperor Yuan frequently grieved for his mother because she was murdered while he was still young by Huo Guang's wife Xian (顯), so he resolved to marry a daughter of the Xu clan to his son, Crown Prince Ao (劉驁), and he eventually decided on his cousin. When the young couple got married, then- Crown Prince Ao loved his wife dearly. However, they had no children; then- Consort Xu miscarried a male child while her husband was crown prince, and would miscarry a female child when she later became empress, but she would have no births.

Since Serena's departure, several events have occurred at the hospital: Jasmine and Raf have died, Ric has been charged for the manslaughter of a patient after leaving the hospital for three hours, and registrar Oliver Valentine (James Anderson) has been shot in the head. On how Serena feels, Russell commented, "For Serena, it's peculiar, weird and sad walking back into a working environment that's completely changed..." In her absence, Serena has travelled and grieved for Elinor and continued her relationship with Bernie, who is setting up a trauma unit in Nairobi while Serena returns. Russell stated that Serena would prefer to be with Bernie in Nairobi. Ric is admitted onto the AAU after being stabbed with a screwdriver and it emerges that he is subject to several beatings in prison, which "concerns" Serena as she thinks of Ric highly.

Meanwhile, Lydie confronts her husband about the affair; he claims he has not slept with anyone, but has indeed thought about it. He also blames the problems in their marriage on Lydie having not properly grieved for their stillborn daughter (she confides in a friend that when their stillborn daughter was cremated, in a fit of anger during an argument with her husband on the drive home, Lydie opened the window and just tossed the ashes out) and says that she does not truly want the baby she is carrying. Lydie screams in his face that she does want the child. Soon before her trial, Stephanie is getting a glass of water and a car drives by her house with drunk young men in it who scream out, "Be the mother of my baby!" and drive off laughing, Stephanie having gained notoriety as being the Ski-Mom.
