He is also the subject of the nonfiction young adult memoir Eugene Bullard: World's First Black Fighter Pilot by Larry Greenly. The 2006 movie Flyboys loosely portrayed Bullard and his comrades in World War I. In 2012–2014, the French writer Claude Ribbe wrote a book on Bullard and made a television documentary. In the 2012 movie Red Tails, the fictional Col. A.J. Bullard (played by Terrence Howard), a thinly disguised representation of the World War Two African American Tuskegee Airmen's main commander, Lt. Col.

Captain A. Greenly immediately signaled her whistle once, and then steered her to port. However, the collision was unavoidable and Selah Chamberlain was struck in her port bow by the slightly larger, and newer John Pridgeon Jr. After the collision, the crew of Selah Chamberlain cut Fayette Brown loose, so if Selah Chamberlain sank, she wouldn't sink Fayette Brown as well. Selah Chamberlain sank approximately 15 minutes after the collision. Over the next few years, a number of unsuccessful operations to raise Selah Chamberlain were carried out.

The locomotive has visited the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway several times and was a predecessor to that railway's Greenly Pacific locomotives. The engine is currently in Blackberry Black of the LNWR with red, off-white and black lining. In 2013, River Esk was undergoing an overhaul in the workshop at Ravenglass when the facility was destroyed in a fire. Staff and volunteers managed to save the frames and some other components from the flames, but the majority of River Esk’s parts were damaged beyond repair.

"Carry Me Back to Old Virginny" by James A. Bland was Virginia's state song from 1940 until 1997; it now has emeritus status. "Oh Shenandoah" was the interim state song from January 2006, and its melody was used for "Our Great Virginia," with lyrics by Mike Greenly, which became the official state song in 2015. The same year, "Sweet Virginia Breeze," written in 1978 by Steve Bassett and Robbin Thompson became the official popular state song; the runner-up was "Virginia, the Home of My Heart".

Storm Flag Flying made her racing debut on August 18, 2002 in a maiden special weight race at Saratoga. She won despite racing greenly, meaning she switched leads several times in the stretch and did not maintain a straight path. In her second start on September 15, she stepped up to Grade I company in the Matron Stakes and "demolished" the field by lengths despite shying at the whip. In her third start in the Frizette Stakes on October 5, she raced more professionally and won by two lengths.

A tappet on the pump rod actuates a small pilot piston valve which in turn controls the main steam-operated shuttle piston valve. ;H.U. Horizontal Undertype :This combined horizontal boiler with engine below dates back to a design for a compound undertype engine by Henry Greenly in c. 1901.Model Engineer & Electrician, Vol VIII, No 88 It is in the Stuart catalogue for 1928, but was dropped by 1940. After a redesign by H.A. Taylor, a larger version of the undertype was re-released onto the market by Stuart Turner in 1973.

Holy Bull was unbeaten in his four races as a two-year-old, including the Grade I Belmont Futurity. He made his racing debut on August 14, 1993 in a maiden special weight race at Monmouth Park, displaying "super speed" despite racing greenly. In his next start on September 2 in an allowance race at Belmont Park, he led from start to finish, winning by seven lengths. On September 18, he made his stakes debut in the Belmont Futurity, where he faced the previously undefeated Dehere, the eventual champion two- year-old colt of 1993.

At one point he had to gallop to the front lines to order certain regiments to hold their positions – this had been caused by confused staff work, in which Gough's orders to draw up "contingency plans" for retreat had been misunderstood.Gough's chief of staff at the time was Lt-Col Bob Greenly, who later, Gough told Haig on 29 March 1918, went "off his head" with strain commanding a division in March 1918 (Farrar-Hockley p. 311)Farrar-Hockley 1974, pp. 138–140 Gough was promoted major-general on 26 October 1914.

Mundy was nominated to the office of Lieutenant Governor on the ticket with Governor Stevens T. Mason. They both won the general election, and he served as Michigan's first Lieutenant Governor, from 1835 to 1840. Appointed by Governor William L. Greenly and the Michigan Senate to the office of Prosecuting Attorney, Mundy went on that year to serve as Michigan Attorney General. In 1848, the Michigan Supreme Court was expanded to include a fifth justice and a new judicial circuit, which were presided over by Supreme Court judges.

The new line's infrastructure was designed by Henry Greenly, a leading figure in the design of narrow gauge railways. He had begun his career at the Metropolitan Railway (now part of the London Underground), and had designed the route, buildings, locomotives and rolling stock for the Rhyl Miniature Railway and the nearby Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.Harding, p. 9 As the new railway would not be carrying heavy loads and would be travelling only a short distance, it was built as a narrow gauge railway, with a track gauge of .

Campbell was killed, and Strachan took command, leading 'B' Squadron at the gallop across the countryside toward Rumilly. Due to the state of the crossing at Masnieres and the limited available daylight Major-Gen W. H. Greenly commanding 2nd Cavalry Division, ordered any large-scale cavalry action to halt and ordered the recall of the units that had crossed the Canal. Neither Lt. Col. RW Patterson, commanding the Fort Garry Horse nor mounted orderlies, could find 'B' Squadron who were south-east of Rumilly to give them the recall order.

The turning point in LBSC's life was in 1922 when he sparked what became known as the "battle of the boilers" with Henry Greenly. Within two and half years he was established as one of the top professionals in scale or model engineering. LBSC's contention was that scale locomotives should be fitted with fire-tube boilers modeled very closely on full size locomotive practice i.e. be coal fired, with multiple fire-tubes and a number of superheater elements, as compared with then commercial and hobbyist practice of building spirit fuelled, water-tube boilers.

In 1847, when Governor Alpheus Felch resigned to serve in the U. S. Senate, Bush became the sixth Lieutenant Governor of Michigan serving under Governor William L. Greenly from March 4, 1847 to January 3, 1848. In 1847, he also cast the deciding vote to move the state capital from Detroit to Lansing. Bush soon moved to Lansing and was elected to the state constitutional convention in 1850. Two years later he was a delegate to the 1852 Democratic National Convention, which nominated Franklin Pierce for U. S. President.

Dr. Susan Wheeler is a surgical resident at Boston Memorial Hospital. Susan is devastated when a patient, Nancy Greenly, who happens to be her best friend, is pronounced brain-dead and comatose there after a routine suction D & C (Dilation and Curettage) abortion and its concomitant general anesthetic. Her suspicions are aroused when another young and otherwise healthy patient, Sean Murphy, also falls comatose during knee surgery for a recent sports injury. Susan finds that over the previous year an unusual number of other fit, young people have suffered the same fate.

More international routes were added through co-operation agreements. With the newly founded Iberia in Spain its longest scheduled route was 2,100 kilometres from Berlin to Madrid (though with several stopovers). The establishment of Syndicato Condor in Brazil served the airline's interests in South America where there were important German minorities at that time. The first east–west crossing of the North Atlantic Ocean (from Baldonnel Aerodrome in Ireland to Greenly Island, Canada) was made by the Luft Hansa pilot Hermann Köhl, Ehrenfried Günther Freiherr von Hünefeld and the Irish pilot James Fitzmaurice using the Junkers W 33 aircraft Bremen in April 1928.

Train between Loop Halt and Estuary Halt. A Fairbourne Railway round trip The line was converted to a gauge steam railway in 1916 by Wenman Joseph Bassett-Lowke of Narrow Gauge Railways Ltd (NGR). They were keen to promote tourism in the area after the failure of the Arthog scheme in the early 1900s. The railway played an important part in the development of the gauge railways in the UK. Services were operated by Bassett-Lowke Class 10 locomotive Prince Edward of Wales designed by Henry Greenly and passengers were conveyed in four open top carriages.

Before LBSC started publishing in the 1920s, model locomotive practice had been divided into two camps. The first encompassed steam locomotives that ran on a gauge of 10¼ inch or greater which followed full scale practice in terms of boiler design and operation, as exemplified by the 15 inch gauge, Henry Greenly designed Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway in Kent. The second encompassed locomotives that were of 2½ inch gauge or less which truly were models i.e. were meant only to look like full size locomotives and ran with spirit fired boilers, typified by those manufactured by Bassett-Lowke.

The village once had its own airport, the Fitzmaurice Flying Field, named in 1929 for James Fitzmaurice, one of a crew of three to be the first to fly a plane from east to west across the Atlantic (Baldonne, Ireland to Greenly Island in Labrador, Canada). An estimated 100,000 people came to the dedication of the field on Spruce Street. The field was used by private planes. The field was eventually closed and became the home for the athletic fields of the 4M Club, a popular youth athletic program founded by Larry Neusse, and supported by a wide range of local residents.

On 12 April 1928, these three left Baldonnel in the Bremen and crossed the Atlantic Ocean, landing at Greenly Island on the south coast of Labrador, Canada. Even though they missed their intended destination, New York City, they were the first to cross the Atlantic by fixed-wing aircraft from Europe to America, almost nine years after the initial success at an east–west crossing by a British rigid airship. For his feat, Köhl was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross by Calvin Coolidge, the President of the United States. In 1935, Köhl lost his job with Luft Hansa.

The second generation "New" Korando was released in Asia in 1996 to complement the SsangYong Musso (released in 1993), released in Europe in 1997 and in Australia in 1998 and was based on a shortened version of the Musso's chassis. The 1.8 tonne 3-door mini SUV was designed by Professor Ken Greenly. It features a choice of 2.3- and 3.2-liter gasoline engines, or 2.3- and 2.9-liter diesel engines, all produced on license from Mercedes-Benz, accompanied by a five-speed manual Borg-Warner gearbox. The interior of the second generation Korando was unique because it had a steering wheel arch on either side.

The railway was opened on 16 July 1927 by Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, William Lygon, 7th Earl Beauchamp. The locomotives were designed by Henry Greenly who was commissioned by Howey to work on the construction of the entire railwaySteel & Steel (1973) and became the railway's first chief engineer until his abrupt resignation in March 1929. Mountain Class Hercules hauled the inaugural train from Hythe to New Romney, with guests including the mayors of the two towns and General Sir Ivor Maxse. Howey was not satisfied with just of track from Hythe to New Romney and plans were in hand for an extension even before the original section had opened.

Red-capped Robin in New South Wales The red-capped robin is found across Australia, except for Tasmania, Cape York, the Top End, and most of the Kimberley (there have been occasional sightings in the southernmost parts). Offshore populations exist on Rottnest Island, as well as Greenly and Pearson Islands off the Eyre Peninsula,Boles, p. 85. but it is not found on Kangaroo Island. Although widespread, it is uncommon in many areas; it is rare east of the Great Dividing Range, in coastal regions in the south of the continent, and in the northern parts of its range—it is seldom encountered north of 20°S.

The estuary of the Brador River and Blanc-Sablon River has a lagoon designated barachois, separated from the sea by sand or gravel. Seawater enters at high tide. The Blanc-Sablon archipelago is located off the coasts of the villages of Blanc-Sablon and Brador and includes Long Island, Lazy Island, Basin Island, Island of the Parrots, Wood Island and Greenly, housing the Bird Sanctuary of Brador Bay. The municipality of Blanc- Sablon has several land protrusions into the Gulf of St. Lawrence; from east to west, they are Point Saint-Charles, Morel's Point, Lazy Point , Hunting Point, "À la Barque" Point, Cape Crow and Point Jones.

The Ford Trimotor used in the Bremen Rescue The Bremen was a German aircraft which had just completed the first successful transatlantic aeroplane flight from east to west, but was stranded in Greenly Island, Canada at the end of that non-stop flight from Europe. Floyd Bennett and Bernt Balchen flew a Ford Trimotor to provide relief to the three stranded Bremen Flyers. Bennett had developed pneumonia following a previous crash, and died with a high fever while in flight on April 25, 1928. Balchen flew the remaining eight hours, and he was paid $10,000 ($ today) for the effort, an amount that was passed to Bennett's widow.

Jefferson Place Gallery with Foam Works by Ed Zerne (1972)The Jefferson Place Gallery was an art gallery in Washington, DC. It was founded in 1957, as a cooperative gallery, by five current and former art professors at American University — William H. Calfee, Robert "Bob" F. Gates, Helene (McKinsey) Herzbrun, Mary R. Orwen, and Ben "Joe" Summerford — and Alice Denney, who served as the first director. Other artists who joined the cooperative in 1957 were George Bayliss, Lothar Brabanski, Colin Greenly, Leonard Maurer, Kenneth Noland, and Baltimore-based artist Shelby Shackelford. Nesta Dorrance acquired the gallery from Denney in 1961, when she left to organize the Washington Gallery of Modern Art. Dorrance ran it until it closed in October 1974.

The beach at Cemaes The rocks exposed by coastal erosion in North Anglesey belong mainly to what geologists call the Mona Complex, which is among the oldest rock units seen in Wales. It underlies, and is therefore older than, the slates of the North Wales quarrying industry, but is probably not very much older in geological terms. Since the remains of fossilized remains have been found in the rocks, it does not pre-date the origins of life and is therefore probably about 600 million years old. The locality is well known to geologists following the enthusiastic description by Edward Greenly, in his pioneering book on the geology of Anglesey dated 1919: ‘a many coloured mélange that is really indescribable, and must therefore be seen in the field to be envisaged’.

River Esk at Dalegarth Built in 1923 as a 2-8-2 by Davey Paxman of Colchester and designed by Henry Greenly, it was designed to haul both stone and passenger trains, however soon found more use on passenger traffic. It was originally fitted with Lentz poppet valve gear, but this didn’t prove to be successful. It was painted works grey in 1924, then LMS red with black and straw lining to 1927. It was then repainted mid green with black and yellow lining during a rebuild in 1928 by the Yorkshire Engine Co, when the original valve gear was replaced with the current walcharts valve gear. At the same time, the loco received a Poultney steam tender, making the locomotive a 2-8-2-0-8-0.

The Junkers W 33 set numerous records, and one made the first east-to-west crossing of the Atlantic by airplane. The North Atlantic had been first crossed, non-stop and by a heavier-than-air craft, by Alcock and Brown in 1919 in a Vickers Vimy. They flew west to east, with the prevailing winds from St. John's, Newfoundland, to Clifden, Ireland, in just under 16 hrs. The east-to-west flight was always more challenging, but became feasible as aircraft performance improved through the 1920s. Nearly nine years after the British R34 rigid airship had pioneered the feat of a nonstop trans- Atlantic east-west flight; on April 12–13, 1928, W 33 D-1167 Bremen flew from Baldonnel near Dublin in Ireland to Greenly Island, Canada, off Labrador in 37 hours.

The railway was the dream of millionaire racing drivers Captain John Edwards Presgrave ("Jack") Howey and Count Louis Zborowski. The latter had constructed a railway at Higham Park, his home at Bridge, Kent, and agreed to donate the rolling stock and infrastructure to the project. However, he was killed on 19 October 1924 in a motor racing accident at the Monza Grand Prix before the Romney Marsh site was chosen, and Howey continued the project alone. After Howey had unsuccessfully attempted to buy the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and extend it, he investigated a greenfield site between Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare in Somerset and offered to buy the Hundred of Manhood & Selsey Tramway in Sussex, Henry Greenly drew Howey's attention to the potential for a 15-inch gauge line between New Romney and Hythe. Howey first visited New Romney on 8 September 1925 and decided there and then that it was an ideal location for his proposed railway.
