The three major scientific fields, chemistry, biology, and physics, are taught as separate courses from Grade 7 on; as the Alberta government offers only a general Science course until Grade 11, the marks of Tempo's science courses are averaged into one Science mark until Grade 11.

After finishing high school which ended at grade 11, Muriel attended the Ontario Ladies College, a Methodist girls' school in Whitby, Ontario. Her aunt, Abbie Ball, taught there and offered to pay Muriel's fees. The college provided instruction in languages, history, mathematics and piano but little science. The 15-year-old Muriel was too shy to participate in drama even though her aunt was the school's drama coach.

The Tukisiniarvik School has 167 students in classes from Kindergarten to Secondary V (Grade 11). Inuktitut remains the dominant language of the community. Senior High in Quezon Science High School is closed to outsiders; meaning only students who passed the QSHSAT and studied in QSHS starting Grade 7 are allowed to take SHS in QSHS. Membership changes each year, the council year begins in November and ends in November of the next year. The DYC is run as a democracy, and each council year has its own hierarchy.

The TAAS, or Texas Assessment of Academic Skills, was the third standardized test used in Texas between 1991 and 2002, when it was replaced by the TAKS test from 2003 to 2013. Between 1911 and 1940, the population grew enough to support the operation of the first school, under the direction of Envoy R. W. Abbott. The school taught from Kindergarten to Grade 11. In 1951, Dominion Point was renamed Peter's Arm South, by R. W. Abbott, who happened to be a clergyman, teacher and first chairman of the council. Cosmos opened on 17 January 1989 and was officially inaugurated on 30 May 1990 by the first Prime Minister of the Republic of Namibia, Dr Hage Geingob. The first principal was Mr J.van Wyk. The dinner begins at 7 pm and the grade 11 class pose as the servers as well as the entertainment throughout the duration of the dinner. The dinner ends at midnight and is followed by the "after-party" which is celebrated at another venue (usually a club) with no parents and no teachers. Penguin District School is a public, co-educational high school, in Penguin, Tasmania, Australia, a town located midway between of Burnie and Ulverstone. It was created in 2013 when Penguin High School merged with Penguin Primary School. Beginning in 2019, Penguin added grade 11 and 12 classes, mainly revolving around sports-based classes. This sports focus was boosted with the opening of Dial Park, a multi-football ground sports complex on par with UTAS and Blundstone arenas.

Germantown High became a grade 11-12 school after Martin Luther King High School, housing grades 9-10, opened on February 8, 1972. The school district used this arrangement since it intended to keep students in Northwest Philadelphia economically integrated. Some neighborhoods in proximity to King, such as East Mount Airy and West Oak Lane, wanted King to become a 9-12 school because Germantown High was located in proximity to poorer areas. Eventually Germantown and King became separate 9-12 schools.

Rosalyn Estores was awarded "Committed Principal, Small School Category". Currently the school is under the K-12 Curriculum and began facing series of changes for the said curriculum. Quebec students complete one fewer grade than all other Canadian provinces in total before attending CEGEP, by ending high school in grade 11 instead of grade 12. The eight-storey tall building complex, Doctrina et Labore Building (Chinese: 好学力行楼), was not completed until the late 20th century. It was originally painted in crimson to match Chuanjia Hall, but was refinished with a grey cobblestone covering shortly after its restoration in 2012. The Port Credit robotics and manufacturing team has taken part in many robotics competitions. The team was started in 2009 and placed 4th place overall at Skills Ontario. Since then, the team has taken part in the VEX, FRC, and Skills Canada robotics competitions. In 1958, Barbara Young Simms began to investigate the possibility of starting a girls day school in Albuquerque. In 1965, she secured land, established a board of trustees and formed the Sandía School, a nonsectarian school. In late January 1966, the Rev. Paul G. Saunders, an Episcopal priest, was selected headmaster and, later that year, the school opened. The year began with 75 students in grades 5 through 10 (grade 11 was added the next year; grade 12 the year after), and finished with 82 students.

The ICFES examination, or Saber 11, is a high school exit examination administered annually in grade 11 in Colombian high schools. The exam is standardized, similar to the SAT and ACT examinations taken by high school students in the United States. The purpose of the exam is to evaluate students' aptitude in five subjects: critical reading, mathematics, social studies, science, and English. Each exam question has four multiple-choice answers, except for the English section which provides between three and eight possible answers for each question.

Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School is a Catholic high school located in North Oakville in the River Oaks area within Oakville, Ontario. The school’s construction was completed in the summer of 2002 and the school opened to new students and staff in September 2002. The school initially had only Grade 9, Grade 10 and Grade 11 students. This was Holy Trinity's first year open and the size was approximately 800 students, while the 2018-2019 student and staff member count has more than doubled in size.

St. Robert was a tremendous success and after four years was filled to capacity. The Board, therefore, opened the doors of Sacred Heart Junior High School in September 1979, providing 265 students with a Grades 7 to 9 program. Through the cooperative efforts of the Board and the Toronto Archdiocese High School Commission, Grade 11 was introduced in September 1981 and one grade was added each subsequent year. Simultaneously, a building program was undertaken and beautiful new facilities were made available to students in September 1983.

As a young child Tiemessen had a general interest in Science and was planning to become a geologist. However, the concept of mutation in micro-organisms, as taught to her in Grade 11, awoke her interest in biological sciences. While interested in medicine, her fear of needles precluded that avenue of study. Starting in Grade 3, students have a Drama class where they learn theatre skills. Once in grade 10, the students are required to put on a public play, everyone in the class must participate whether they act or work in tech. The performances are held in either the school auditorium or the "P-scène", a smaller auditorium in the basement of the school (see Facilities below). The implementation of the K–12 program is "phased". The first phase of the implementation will start on SY 2012–2013. In a 2002 controversial decision, the school's grade 9 and 10 students were moved to St. Lawrence and General Vanier, while grade 11 and 12 students from those schools were subsequently moved to CCVS in an effort to cut costs. This was changed back in 2010, which resulted in CCVS becoming a 7–12 school following the General Vanier Intermediate School closure at the conclusion of the 2010–11 school year. Murray Dryden, (October 14, 1911 - February 1, 2004) was a Canadian philanthropist. He was also the father of Hockey Hall of Famer and politician Ken Dryden, Dave Dryden and Judy Dryden. Born in Domain, Manitoba, the eldest of eight children of Scottish parents, he worked on his family farm until finishing grade 11 in 1928 Maclean's article on Murray Dryden, reprinted in The Canadian Encyclopedia when he moved to Winnipeg to look for a job. In 1932, he found work selling plant food in Hamilton, Ontario and married Margaret Campbell in 1938.

Of interest, the term CEGEP can only legally be used to describe the state-run post-secondary (post-grade 11) schools, where tuition is free. The 26 private institutions which offer a post-secondary program recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Education receive a subsidy for each of their 15,000 students, and grant the same diplomas as the public colleges. Unlike the state-run colleges, the private post-secondary schools do not have to combine pre-university and vocational programs in one institution. After his parents got divorced, he started making beats as an alternative to performing. When Watts became serious about a career as a record producer, he made several trips to New York City. He dropped out of high school in Grade 11 after a meeting with producer/DJ Kevin "K-Cut" McKenzie (of the legendary group Main Source). North Delta has five high schools: North Delta Senior Secondary, Seaquam Secondary, Sands Secondary, Burnsview, and Delview. Prior to the 2004–2005 school year, Sands, Burnsview, and Delview were Junior Secondary schools, offering only grades 8 to 10. Graduates from these three schools fed into North Delta Senior Secondary, which offered only a grade 11 and 12 curriculum; Seaquam Secondary was the only complete grade 8 to 12 secondary school in North Delta. This class traveled around the city performing a thematic series of skits to Elementary schools and local community groups.

It is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1988 with the support of the United Nations Development Programme in Vietnam (UNDP) with the aim of providing an education to the children of UN staff and others. It now caters to the children of diplomats, aid workers, businessmen, and other expatriates living and working in Hanoi. Classes range from pre-school to high school, and the IB Diploma is available to students in grade 11 and 12.

The Holy Rosary Minor Seminary is the oldest Christian higher educational institute for the clergy in the Philippines established in Naga City, Camarines Sur, in the early part of the 18th century. At present, it houses 114 seminarian interns and 16 extern seminarians from the Diocese of Libmanan. From its reopening in the year 2013 after its closure during the 1980s, accepts Junior High School (Grade 7 to 10) and Senior High School (Grade 11 to 12) enrollment in adherence to the K-12 Program of the Department of Education.

Over the summer holidays of 2006/2007 the administration block and staff room were extended to almost twice the size as well as building a new prep room, junior art room & enlarging the junior extended learning areas. The horticulture building was also upgraded to classroom standard. Basic Education High School No. 2 Sanchaung (; abbreviated to အ.ထ.က. (၂) စမ်းချောင်း; formerly, St. Philomena's High School; commonly known as Sanchaung 2 High School), located in Pyay Road, Sanchaung township, is a public high school in Yangon. The exam, first administered in 1989, was originally called the High School Proficiency Test (abbreviated as HSPT) and was taken during the freshman year. If the examination was failed, it could be taken each year until it was passed. In 1993, only students who were in eleventh grade (Grade 11) were allowed to take the exam, and thus in 2001 the name was changed to HSPT-11 to reflect that policy alteration. Students in Alberta have their courses mandated but normally after each section of schooling they are given more freedom in what they can choose to take. Then starting in high school most courses begin to be labeled with a dash, for example "Math 20-1", where "-1" is the highest level followed by "-2", etc. Courses are also labeled with a 10, 20, 30, or in some cases 31. 10, the lowest, is generally taken in grade 10 followed by 20 taken in grade 11 and so on.

Britannia offers an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme for grades 11–12 and a Venture program for grades 8–10. Britannia and Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School are the only two public secondary schools in Vancouver to offer the programme. The programme offers some course content which is at the first-year university level. Morris' worsening eyesight left him unable to complete schoolwork, and Morris left St. Mary High School after grade 11 to become a poultry farmer. Morris' mother, Jemita Pryce, was a strong supporter of the People's National Party (PNP). Much of her work came from government contracts from the area's Member of Parliament, Horace Clarke, and when the PNP party fell out of power, her work dried up.

Special projects which are not laid down in the curriculum are the non-profit CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) Project, in which students from grade 11 can participate both in community service programmes and environmental projects, for example a project aiming at using recycled paper or the campaign “Recycle, Reduce, Reuse”. Moreover, students take part in outdoor programmes or the drama group. The music programme includes weekly lessons, the school choir, instrumental lessons and the school orchestra. Concerts are held on a regular basis, in order to give students the necessary chances to perform.

He left school in 1951, after Grade 11, and in 1953 found work in the record library at Radio-Canada's new television service. Seycove Secondary has a theatre program and its own distinctive black box theatre, nicknamed "The Vortex." There are two special events that occur in alternating years: the One Act Play Festival, which consists of one-act plays written and directed by students in the senior (grade 11 and 12) acting program, and the Spring Play, which is open to all members of the Drama department. Past productions include Tennessee Williams's The Glass Menagerie; Woody Allen's Play It Again, Sam; and William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Emmanuel Christian School is a small private school located in Dollard-des- Ormeaux, Quebec, a city of Greater Montreal. EMCS is a school that bases its educational and religious values on the Bible and Evangelical Protestant teachings, while simultaneously meeting or exceeding all of the educational requirements of the Ministre de l'Education, du Loisir et du Sport. A former dispute with another Montreal area private school named "Miss Edgar and Miss Cramp's School" has led to the use of the acronym "EMCS" instead of the previous "ECS". In the Philippines, STEM is a two-year program and strand that is used for Senior High School (Grade 11 and 12), as signed by the Department of Education or DepEd. The NKPIS was established in 1999 by Om Al-Qura Education Establishment and obtained a permit from the Kuwaiti government in 2004. Khalifa Talal Al-Jeri established the institution to provide education to Filipino children based from the Educational Curriculum of Philippines. The only Philippine School in Kuwait had undergone several accreditation and inspections by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Filipino Overseas (CFO), Philippines. Thus, the NKPIS became the first Philippine School abroad who was given a license to operate and pilot the Grade 11 and 12 Program of the Department of Education, Manila, Philippines.

In Texas, there are three programs offered for graduation: the Minimum High School Program (MHSP), the Recommended High School Program (RHSP), and the Advanced (Distinguished) High School Program (AHSP/DHSP). The Recommended and Distinguished programs are the streams typically chosen by most students, and are expected of students who are college-bound. Also required for graduation is successful completion with passing grades on the Exit Level examination of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), which is typically taken in Grade 11. Multiple re-sits for the exam are available, in case of failure on a previous attempt.

Recruits had to be male, single, between the age of 19 (though men as young as 17 managed to join) to 28, have attained Grade 11, stand at least 5 feet 9 inches tall and weigh not more than 185 lbs. Training, which included paramilitary marching, battle drill and small arms practice, was administered by a RNR sergeant major. The uniform, similar to that of the RCMP, consisted of a khaki tunic and breeches with a brown stripe, fur caps as winter attire. The dress uniform was of blue serge and accompanied by swords and sometimes hickory batons for riot control.

Class rank and G.P.A. (Grade Point Average) are determined by the levels of courses taken and the grades earned in those courses. Grades earned in courses completed in middle school that were awarded a high school credit will not be computed as part of the high school cumulative grade-point average. High School courses completed during the summer prior to entering ninth grade will be included in the grade-point average and calculated in the 9th grade year. The initial class ranking is computed at the end of grade 11 by averaging the final averages of grades 9, 10, and 11.

The education up to XII standard for the residents is provided by Atomic Energy Education Society through Atomic Energy Central School (AECS), which are numbered 1 through 6, and a sprawling Atomic Energy Junior College (AEJC) for grades 11 and 12, on the foot of the Trombay Hill. Now the AECS School No. 4 has grade 11 and grade 12 under the CBSE. These schools cater to about 7000 students. Sullivan Heights Secondary is a well known high school located in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Sullivan Heights opened on October 24, 2000, with a student population of over 1000 students (grades 8 through 10), with grade 11 being added in the 2001–02 school year, and grade 12 being added in the 2002–03 school year. Today, Sullivan Heights is home to thousands of students (in grades 8 through 12), and over 50 staff members. The Act did not require applicants to hold university qualification to apply for first level entry of public service. It consists of two campuses, the Saint-Lambert Campus on the corner of Riverside and Notre-Dame Avenue as well as the Durocher Campus on the corner of Riverside and Tiffin Road, opposite Champlain Regional College. North Vancouver Museum and Archives A University of British Columbia master's thesis studied Delbrook's sudden closing on the effects it had on grade 11 and 12 students being forced to transfer late in their high school careers. It found minimal impact on those transferring, except for some difficulty integrating into the established student body. The remaining buildings, including the gymnasium and cafeteria (which both survived the fire) now operates under North Vancouver Parks and Recreation as the Delbrook Community Recreation Centre. The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment refers to standardized tests that grade the school, rather than individual students. Every Pennsylvania student is tested annually in grades 3 through 8, and in grade 11 for both math and reading proficiency; those in grades 5, 8 and 11 are tested for writing proficiency as well. Target goals are for 80% graduation rate (for high schools) and 90% attendance, 45% mathematics proficiency and 54% reading proficiency, and 95% participation in taking the PSSA tests. Schools are considered to meet the goal with substandard scores if they show improvement over the prior year.

Sentinel offers AP classes in French, psychology, calculus, physics, biology, chemistry, language, literature, fine arts, and many more. Students in both grade 11 and 12 are allowed to enroll in AP courses. Although Sentinel provides numerous AP courses, it is noteworthy that there are a lot of restrictions that the school makes implicit and ambiguous; these restrictions can be problematic for some students as they can significantly affect the entire timeline of students' plans for participating AP exams. Firstly, since the students are not capable of registering for the AP exams individually, the students have no choice but to follow the instructions the school gives.

College education is given by institutions known as Colleges. Both private and public institutions (Cegeps, which is officially coined in French as Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel) of this type exist within the province. Unique to Québec, college education serves to bridge compulsory schooling and university education, since it is the only province that requires 11 years of study (instead of 12) to obtain a high school diploma. For admission purposes, Canadian provinces other than Quebec do not consider completion of grade 11 in Quebec (Sec V)—or, more simply, the secondary diploma of Quebec—to be sufficient for university admission (or admission at other post-secondary institutions).

The 2019-2020 academic year marked the completion of Oberoi International School’s 11th year of operation. The school's Chinese curriculum is proposed to follow the 12-year basic education system. Subjects to be taught for senior high school levels were under study and were expected to be offered in June 2016 with the Grade 11 English classes. TSA uses the simplified Chinese characters for teaching Chinese since the first semester of school year 2007–2008 for elementary and high school levels and since June 2012 for pre- school. In elementary and high school levels, TSA maintains a three-period- per-day (fifteen periods a week) policy as mandated by the Filipinization law of the late President Marcos, which is in effect to date.

Taroona High School and Taroona Primary school are completely separate educational institutions, although they do share one oval. Originally the high school catered for grades 7 to 11, but with the establishment of the separate Matriculation College system in 1962 the grade 11 students were transferred to the Hobart Matriculation College. At its maximum the enrolments at Taroona High School were about 1200 in the 1960s, with students traveling from Ferntree, South Hobart, Sandy Bay, Battery Point, Kingston, Blackmans Bay, and several centers further south. There are now approximately 1150 students in high school, now only drawing students from the southern suburbs of Hobart.

All 10th-grade students have to take two quality-check tests (one in November, the other at the end of the school year), the results of which, when combined with their GPA for the major, can re-determine which class the student is in, in their next year. There is no difference in curriculum between the two 10th-grade English, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics classes. Starting from grade 11, class 2 will follow an easier, yet still more advanced than basics, major curriculum, while class 1 continues to pursue the specialized major curriculum.

Barber was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1923, where he attended school until he dropped out in grade 11. Simpson played collegiate hockey for the Michigan State Spartans of the NCAA from 1983–84 to 1984–85. In 2007, Ruddle spent three days painting inside the performance art cube in the foyer of Keswick High School. James began his journey into the realm of Christian art when he completed a 32-foot triptych mural titled The Light of This Broken World. The large burn painting, created through a process of burning the images onto wood using gasoline and a blow torch, was installed in the sanctuary of Forest Brook Community Church in 2010. On March 31, 2014, while teaching at Bill Crothers Secondary School, he completed a 16 by 20 Foot mural of Wayne Gretzky with 12 grade 11 students in a style similar to Chuck Close.

Renee Hobbs has conducted research to measure the impact of media literacy education on academic achievement. In 2003, she published the results of a quasi- experimental naturalistic field research comparing two New Hampshire public high schools, one of which had integrated Media/Communication into the year- long Grade 11 English class. Results showed that, compared to a matched control group, students receiving media literacy education improved the ability to critically analyze both advertising and news in print, video and audio formats. During the Great Depression, the city of Roswell was annexed into Fulton County from Cobb County as part of its 1932 combination with Milton County and Campbell County. Grandmaison remembers taking his first "real picture" with his mother's Kodak for a school project in grade 11 (circa 1968) when he photographed the old wooden barn on his aunt's farm in Estaire, Ontario using black & white print film. That was the extent of his photography until his graduation from university in 1976. Grandmaison's interest in photography began soon after he bought his first 35mm camera, a Nikkormat EL. Being primarily interested in botany and ecology, his objective was to make photographic records of plants and the environments they grew in. Grandmaison's interest in photography ignited when he joined the Sturgeon Falls Camera Club where he first learned the craft of black & white photography.

Although born in Fort St. John, British Columbia Jones spent his early life growing up in Abbotsford. From early on, Jones developed both an artistic interest in drawing and the physical act of building. Jones’ interest in physical design continued to grow during highschool grade 11 when he was enrolled in a class that taught drafting. This eventually drove him to pursue post secondary to achieve both a bachelors and a master's degree. In 1909 the name of the Provincial Normal School was changed to the Provincial Normal College; this was changed again in 1951 to the Nova Scotia Normal College, a designation that was retained until 1961. Throughout the years the institution broadened its training and improved the qualifications of its graduates. In 1932 Junior Matriculation (grade 11) became the minimum entrance requirement, and in 1961 the one-year program was superseded by a two-year program of teacher education beyond Nova Scotia grade 12. In his second year of Grade 11, he was placed in a class of students who mostly either "flunked or dropped out and came back", and was asked to be class president by the teacher, who thought he had "discipline and determination" because he had been playing violin since the age of five. Fryer was a three-sport athlete at Strathcona High School in Edmonton from the fall of 1968 to the spring of 1971, starring on the Lords' football, basketball and track and field teams all three years. As an intermediate boy in his grade 11 year at the Alberta Schools Athletic Association provincial track and field meet in Calgary, Fryer won and set the ASAA record for the 120 yard hurdles with a time of 14.4 seconds. The following year at the provincial championship in Edmonton, Fryer once again won the 120 yard hurdles, setting a new record of 14.2 seconds. He also smashed the records in both the long jump (7.08m) and triple jump (13.8m), setting standards that stood for almost two decades before being surpassed.

ML Pin with his mother and four sisters At the age of four, ML Pin began receiving preliminary education from teachers who came to teach at the family home on Damrongrak Road, next to Varadis Palace. He enrolled at Suankularb Wittayalai School (then known as Wat Ratchaburana School) shortly before turning seven in 1910, and after half a year his examination results placed him at Mathayom 1 level. In 1914 he was accepted into the Royal Pages School (now Vajiravudh College). Half a year later, King Vajiravudh named him one of eight Royal Page Students () in the king's personal service.. Although he did not attend regular classes at the school afterwards, he passed exams at Mathayom 5 level (grade 11) at the end of the school year.

Music Extension (MEX) is a two-year program specifically designed to extend students who have already developed sound music reading and performing skills throughout the primary years of education. The program allows students to develop advanced skills in practical musicianship and theory alongside like-minded peers in a challenging environment. After two years, the program becomes optional, and in Grade 11 and 12 students are able to continue their musical studies with the option of taking Core Music as a subject. In Grade 12, Music Extension (MUX) is offered as a 7th subject, providing students with an opportunity to further extend their skills in their chosen area of either Performance or Composition, as well as an investigative Musicology essay alongside.

Avondale's predecessor, Alternative Independent Study Program (known by the acronym AISP), was the first Board of Education operated alternative school in North York and one of the first such high schools in Toronto. AISP was founded in 1971 to meet the increasing demand of the students of North York for alternative education. Following the apparent success of Shared Experience Exploration and Discovery (known as SEED) in the City of Toronto, the North York Board of Education agreed to create an alternative program which began in September 1971 with admission of the first Grade 11, 12 and 13 students. Attendance of the first 160 was determined by lottery of the students who wished to attend, and whose numbers exceeded the allotted amount.

The drama department annually spearheads the school's spring play and monitors the school's annual participation in the National Theatre School Drama Festival each February due to the aforementioned competition being primarily student run. Armstrong was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, but grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He attended Sacred Heart High School in Yorkton, Saskatchewan for grade 11 and 12 while playing AAA Midget, and also St. Joseph High School in Saskatoon with his brother Colby Armstrong, who also played in the NHL. After playing minor hockey with the Saskatoon Redwings (and figure skating out of Martensville and Saskatoon Figure Skating Club, coached by his mother Rosemary), Armstrong left to play Midget AAA with the Yorkton Mallers, where he scored 44 goals and 77 points in 40 games, finishing 3rd in league scoring. Armstrong began playing for the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in the 2002–03 season, scoring 6 goals.

The extension at Sitio Colambo headed by Mr. Joel Pacheo (1 teacher and 1 literacy teacher); For this year the main school has Eight Hundred Seventy-Two (872) enrollees and thirty-two (32) teachers; Camingawan Extension has six hundred ten (610) students and 14 teachers; Orong Extension has four hundred sixteen (416) students and 9 teachers with the total of 1,926 for Junior High School.

Unlike in the United States the issue has never been the subject of a major Supreme Court case, nor does it figure prominently in the national media. In Canada, education is the constitutional responsibility of the provinces. No province has taught creationism in its official public school curriculum in modern times, however, there are various different approaches to the teaching of evolution and religion across the country, as well as various exceptions for separate schools (publicly funded religious school, primarily Catholic), private schools, alternative schools, Reserve schools, charter schools, and so on. In most provincial curricula (excluding Quebec, where it has been mandatory in elementary schools since 2004) evolutionary theory is only required in Grade 11 or 12; however, it can be taught earlier at the discretion of local school boards and teachers.

From then on Chambers trained more regularly and enjoyed quite a lot of success at O.T.F.A. (Ontario Track and Field Association) meets. At the beginning of the '93 high school track season Chambers was preparing himself with Guthrie for the first of three possible senior boys 100's, as he was only in grade 11 at this time. But the Catholic separate school board had a "work to rule" strike and as a result Chambers' school did not send athletes to O.F.S.A.A. The following indoor season Chambers trained intently and won a 60m Gold medal at the York University high school Track and Field invitational. Chambers ran a hand-timed 10.2 at the city track meet (ROPSSAA) and he went to the O.F.S.A.A. ranked #1 in the province.

Frank, Kwon, and Shauf were students at I. E. Weldon Secondary School and were brought together through a group assignment in their Grade 11 music class in which they had to cover various songs. After realizing their shared musical chemistry, the trio, alongside drummer Nathan Truax, decided to form a band, which they originally named Luke and the Good Men. In 2012, they changed their name to The Kents, a reference to the name of Lindsay's main street, Kent Street. The band first gained attention through playing local shows and community events in the Kawartha Lakes area before going on hiatus in order for each member to pursue their respective educations, though they still recorded and self-released the Locals EP when they regrouped in the summer of 2014.

Born in Nowra, New South Wales, Gynes was a gifted sportsman in high school, playing rugby, cricket, and volleyball as well as basketball. At Nowra High School, Gynes was named Sportsman of the Year in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and was named to the New South Wales all-schools team in grade 11 and 12. Gynes played in Australia's 2006 under-18 national tournament, posting stunning numbers and clutch performances while leading his New South Wales state team to the gold medal. In the five-day tournament, he averaged 23.6 points and 12.3 rebounds, but saved his best efforts for the semi final and championship games when he collected 40 points and 12 rebounds in the semis, followed by 26 points and 20 rebounds in the final, earning the national MVP award.

Ross was born on a homestead near Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. When he was seven, his parents separated, and he lived with his mother on a number of different farms during his childhood, going to school in Indian Head, Saskatchewan. He left school after Grade 11 and in 1924 he joined the Union Bank of Canada, which became part of the Royal Bank of Canada a year later. At first he worked in a number of small towns in Saskatchewan, then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1933 and Montreal, Quebec in 1946, after spending four years in the Canadian Army during World War II. He remained with the Royal Bank until his retirement in 1968, after which he spent some time in Spain and Greece before moving to a nursing home in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he lived until his death.

Eden excelled in her home environment and skated at two Olympic games, seven World Championships, Multiple International events and Canadian Championships. It was there that she met her husband, Julian, also a speed skater representing Great Britain, at some of the same events. Eden's participation in the National Team program meant that she had to miss a great deal of high school. In the summer of grade 10, Eden completed English 11 and Algebra 11 by correspondence so that she would have two less courses to complete during the school year. In the summer of grade 11, she completed grade 12 English by correspondence and then moved to Montreal to train for the ’88 Olympic games. While in Montreal, Eden completed the rest of her grade 12 courses by correspondence and graduated with her class in 1988.

OAC courses were the highest level courses in Ontario high schools until the formal elimination of the Ontario Academic Credit. To enter university, students were required to complete 30 high school credits (courses can have different credit values, but most courses were worth 1 credit; some courses were compulsory and there were other restrictions), 6 of which had to be at the OAC level. Assuming that one had taken the necessary prerequisite courses, one could complete an OAC course before the OAC year, and so in many schools it was common for Grade 11 or Grade 12 students to have taken some OAC courses. Students who completed these requirements in 4 years of high school were permitted to graduate; this practice was known as fast- tracking, finishing Grade 12 in four years with 30 credits if the student was college bound.

Comes to the Yeshiva from Queens New York, where he received his Semicha Yoreh-Yoreh/Yadin-Yadin (Advanced Rabbinic Ordination) from the Rabbinical Seminary of America, Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim. This was the culmination of 17 years of intense study, including two years in the Milwaukee campus and one in the Jerusalem campus. He spent 2 years teaching the Grade 11 honors students in Monsey at Yeshiva Zichron Yaakov, one year as the grade 10 Rebbi in Brooklyn at Yeshiva Tiferes Yisroel, and an additional 2 years teaching Jewish Law at the main Chofetz Chaim campus in Queens, New York. Rabbi Brody and his wife Devora, also an expert educator in her own right, decided the best place for this was in Richmond, British Columbia where Rabbi Brody served as the Rabbi of Young Israel of Richmond.

Most recently from Long Island, New York, received his Smicha Yoreh-Yoreh/Yadin-Yadin (Advanced Rabbinic Ordination) from the Rabbinical Seminary of America, Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim. This was the culmination of 16 years of intensive study, including two years on the Jerusalem campus. Rabbi Kamin’s leadership qualities and expertise in Talmudic study brought him to the position of Rosh Yeshiva of Mesivta of Roslyn, Josef Grunberg Torah Academy. Several of his students have followed him to Vancouver to study under his guidance in the Beis Medrash program. Rabbi Kamin’s broad experience includes developing outreach programs for public school children, teaching Gemara to Grade 11 in Mesivta of Forest Hills, and serving as guest lecturer in several Synagogues in Queens and Long Island, NY. Rabbi Kamin’s wife, Rochel, is an Occupational therapist, and has her own practice, Vancouver Occupational Therapy For Kids.

The school was the first preparatory school to be established in Sri Lanka based on the English public School model. The institution, which commenced with a student population of 95 boys and a staff of seven teachers, currently has a student population of 975 and over 100 staff members. At first, the school only accepted students between the ages of 5 and 11 years, as its founding fathers sought to remedy a conceptual void in the educational system by placing a new emphasis on the requirements and aspirations of younger children to be educated and to be allowed to express their creative talents and faculties unfettered and unhampered by older and more mature students. Nevertheless, over the years the school began accepting older students, and currently has classes up to Grade 11 in preparation for the GCE Ordinary Level exam.

The IB Diploma Programme at Bayview S.S. includes the following: HL (Higher Level) English A Literature, SL (Standard Level) French B, HL History, HL Economics, SL Geography (no longer offered), HL Biology, HL Chemistry, SL Biology, SL Chemistry, SL Physics, SL Mathematics, SL Theatre, SL Visual Arts, CAS (Creativity, Action, Service), and the Extended Essay, which students begin writing in their Grade 11 year and finish in their Grade 12 year. The IB Diploma Programme also includes a TOK or Theory of Knowledge course. In order to convert their 7-point IB scale marks into the percentile system in the Ontario education system, IB students are offered a mathematical conversion system. The first two years in this programme are free, but the last two years require a $3000 non-refundable fee, not eligible for a tax receipt.

The length of study at the secondary level also differs in Quebec, with the final grade of secondary schools in the province being Grade 11/Secondaire V. Conversely, in Ontario, a student may choose to lengthen their period of study in a secondary school for an additional number of years, colloquially referred to as a victory lap. From 1989 to 2003, secondary education in Ontario formally included a fifth year (intended for students preparing for post-secondary education), known as the Ontario Academic Credit (age 18 by 31 December). Prior to 1989 Ontario high schools included Grade 13 (leading to the Secondary School Honours Graduation Diploma). Although OAC was phased out in 2003, a small study published in 2010 noted that the province was only partially successful in its efforts, with a significant minority of students opting to take an additional year.

The curriculum of the ISA is based on the guidelines of the International Baccalaureate Organisation IBO and is developed in close collaboration with other international schools and the Bavarian Ministry of Education. It offers, also to German children, a good foundation for their future education. The school offers an Early Learning Centre (3 – 5 years of age), a Lower School (grade 1 to grade 5), as well as a Middle School (grade 6 to grade 10), and a High School (grade 11 and grade 12). In the 10th grade, the students take their IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) exams, in grade 12 students sit for International Baccalaureate Diploma exams. If certain criteria are met, both certificates are recognised worldwide and in Bavaria through the “Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle“ as the German “Mittlere Reife“ or “Allgemeine Hochschulreife”, respectively.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme at Bayview is a competitive entry program founded 30 years ago that consists of approximately 110 students per grade living in York Region, who are selected based on their performance in a three-part entrance exam (testing mathematics, English, and French, which was replaced by a collaborative intake activity in 2019), their grade 7 final report card and a letter of teacher reference (no longer required after 2014, required again in 2016 and on). This programme targets students who are well-rounded and high achievers in all aspects of school. The entrance exam is written in the November of the students' grade 8 year, and the candidates are picked by the IB coordinators and school administration by January. Students would first enter pre-IB and if they so choose, may take the IB Diploma Programme in their Grade 11 and 12 years.

Amongst other developments seen at the school during his tenure were making a qualitative improvement in education, expanding the school further by adding more facilities, namely: three, three-story buildings for Grade 11, the commerce section, and the primary grades; a new auditorium with the latest facilities; the canteens for students and teachers; initiating the construction of a new hostel; construction of the school office, principal's office, meeting hall and, toilets; the introduction of the Media Unit; and the construction of two playgrounds and a cricket ground for the primary grades. In 1998, the Western Band of the school had the rare privilege of welcoming the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, who visited Sri Lanka in order to be part of its 50th Independence Day celebration. The school's cricket programme showed tremendous growth during this period, and this was reflected with Captain Suranga Wijenayake representing the National team.

Camp Ramah in Canada, () is a Jewish summer camp located at Skeleton Lake in Utterson in Muskoka, Ontario, approximately two hours north of Toronto. Part of the National Ramah Commission, Ramah is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Camp Ramah in Canada was founded in 1960, and attracts approximately 500 campers each year from Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Israel. François Bloemhof was born in the town of Paarl in the Cape Province, South Africa. In Grade 9 his English teacher awarded him 97% for a short story, “Murder by the Number”, which he considers the start of his writing career. While in Grade 11 he won the Amstel Playwright of the Year Award with the play A Social Gathering. Since then he has become the only author in the world to write so extensively and successfully for the adult, teenage and youth markets. He didn’t attempt to write a novel until some years after leaving school, chiefly because he believed there was no room for “his type of story” in what was then a rather conservative Afrikaans market. Die Nag Het Net Een Oog was a Gothic novel set in a small (and totally un-Gothic) rural community, and with this in 1991 he won the De Kat Prize, at that time the country’s most prestigious literary award.

The traditional ringing bell to signal the end (and start) of a "period" was replaced with an electronic chime for each mod. The modular day included blocks of free time for students, designated Individual Directed Study time (IDS). In a January 1971 interview for the Gainesville Sun newspaper, Principal Temple explained that in a conventional school with a normal six and one-half hour day, students spend 275 minutes per week in each of six classes. In its first year operating on an abbreviated, "early" schedule, Buchholz students spent 260 minutes per-week, per-class; this increased to 275 minutes the following school year, when the county's acquisition of a dozen new school buses allowed Buchholz to begin classes at a "normal" time. In addition to the 9th and 10th graders brought over from Westwood, the school also included grades 7 and 8 for its first two years, because there was no grade 11 or 12.

Sto. Tomas Integrated High School was first known as Calauan Stand-alone Senior High School and later Calauan Senior High School, established in school year 2016–2017. It initially offered three Technical- Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Tracks in Grade 11 and 12, to wit: Home Economics Combo 1 (Front Office Services NC II, Attractions and Theme Parks NC II, Tourism Promotion Services NC II, and Local Guiding Services NC II), Home Economics Combo 2 (Cookery NC II, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, and Food and Beverage Services NC II), and Information Communications Technology (Computer Systems Servicing NC II). The following school year 2017–2018, it was integrated and became known as Sto. Tomas Integrated High School and offered complete basic secondary education by adding Junior High School (Grade 7 to 10). Thereby, it held its first Moving-Up Ceremonies in Grade 10 and its first Commencement Exercises in Grade 12 this year.

This decision was a real step of faith because our relatively small numbers per grade level meant that we did not qualify for Commonwealth Government funding. In 1996, the schools were merged to form a single entity K - 10 school. About this time the campus was expanded to approximately four hectares with the addition of new sports grounds. In 1997 a major building program was undertaken to establish a new library complex, toilets and showers for the gymnasium, bigger staffroom and extra administration offices. In late 1998 another building program was completed; refurbishing the technology block including a new "design in wood" workshop together with further development of the administration block. During 2001, 4 hectares of land adjacent to our campus was purchased to give a separate horticulture teaching area and environmental study area which also enabled a new entrance into the school campus from Nelson Street. Also a new prep classroom was added. Late in 2002 it was necessary to build another three classrooms and common room due to continued enrolment growth and extension to grade 11 in 2003, grade 12 in 2004 to allow study areas for laptop based learning.

Ontario and Quebec offer a pre-kindergarten, called a "junior kindergarten" in Ontario, and a "garderie" in Quebec. Education in Ontario once involved an Ontario Academic Credit (OAC) as university preparation, but that was phased out in 2007, and now all provinces except Quebec have 12 grades. The OAC was informally known as "grade 13" and the name was also used to refer to the students who took it. Education in Quebec differs from the other provinces in that it has an école primaire (literally "primary school") consisting of grades 1–6, and an école secondaire (literally "secondary school") consisting of secondaries I-V. Secondaries I-V are equivalent to grades 7-11. A student graduating from high school (grade 11) can then either complete a three-year college program or attend a two-year pre-university program required before attending university. In some English High Schools, as well as in most French schools, high school students will refer to secondary 1-5 as year one through five. So if someone in Secondary three is asked "what grade/year are you in?" they will reply "three" or "sec 3".

The History of Port Colborne High School dates back to 1920 when the town of Port Colborne became a focal point of many new industries. The arrival of the International Nickel Company of Canada (INCO) in 1918, the prospering businesses of Canada Furnace, Maple Leaf Mills and Canada Cement along with the building of the fourth Welland Canal brought many new residents and their families to the town. A need for an educational institution was realized. In 1920 the Port Colborne School Board purchased four acres of land from Dewitt Carter on the corner of Steele and Elgin Streets. Building started in 1920 and in 1921 the Port Colborne Continuation School opened its doors for the first time with four classrooms, a science lab, and a gymnasium (currently the theatre). This school offered students in Port Colborne grades 9-11. If a student wanted to further their education after grade 11 they needed to travel to Welland, via trolley, to complete their fourth and fifth terms (Grade 12 and 13). In 1922 an application was made to the Ontario Government for High School status, which was granted in 1923.

King founded the cotton mill that would eventually be the city's economic backbone for much of its early history. The immediate predecessor to Roswell High School was the Roswell Public School on Mimosa Boulevard, which housed grades 1–10 and opened in the 1892 after the Georgia General Assembly passed Act No. 51 on December 20, 1892, allowing the city to elect a school board and levy taxes for support of the school. Students from outside the city limits were required to pay tuition. In 1896, the city council and mayor were authorized by the state to issue $5,000 in bonds to build a new school building. In 1914, the existing school was torn down and two new structures were built. Since schools were segregated at that time, a two-story brick building was constructed on Mimosa Boulevard to house the white students in grades 1 through 10, and a one-room wooden building was built on Pleasant Hill Avenue for black students in grades 1 through 7. The Pleasant Hill facility also served as a meeting place for a local lodge and the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church until the church built its own facility across the street in 1922. Grade 11 was added in the 1920s to the Mimosa Boulevard school.

In September, an ELS activist was removed from an auditorium where General Prayut was speaking after raising a banner asking for the civic duties academic subject be removed from school curricula. In March 2016, the group criticized the draft 2016 constitution for reducing the number of years of free education from 12 to 9, resulting in a change to the draft. On 4 June, the ELS participated in an Anti-SOTUS protest criticizing Thailand's Seniority, Order, Tradition, Unity, and Spirit (SOTUS) university hazing system. On 6 October, Warisa Sukkumnoed, Secretary-general of the ELS, spoke at a Chulalongkorn University organized TED talk-like event “The 40 Years of 6 Oct. The New Generation Commemoration” to commemorate Thailand’s 1976 October massacre. On 4 February 2017, the ELS held a 'National Senior's Day' event to parody Thailand's National Children's Day, co-ordinated by Parit ‘Penguin’ Chiwarak. In July 2017, Sanhanutta Sartthaporn, a grade 11 student and then Secretary- General of the ELS, was allegedly intimidated by two plainclothes soldiers while having breakfast at his school’s canteen after the ELS published a statement asking Prayut to cease interfering in the Thai education system. A Ministry of Defence spokesperson subsequently stated that Sanhanutta was merely being asked to cooperate.
