From its opening, Balmoral was known for its superior rugby program. Under Coach Bob Payne in the 1960s the bantam and juvenile teams often went undefeated in a season, and were unscored upon in a few. The grade 8 and grade 9 rugby were perennial Vancouver and District champions. In 1969 the school fielded a grade 10 boys' team for the first time.

Balmoral Junior Secondary School opened in about 1959 to serve Grades 7, 8 and 9 students in the northwest area of the District of North Vancouver. It was intended as a feeder to Delbrook Senior Secondary a few blocks away. In 1969 Balmoral split the grade 10 class with Delbrook. In January 1977 the Delbrook building was destroyed by fire, necessitating Balmoral accommodating both schools' students and staff until the end of June.

Richmond Green had an enrollment of approximately 331 Grade 9 and 10 students and over 30 staff in its inaugural school year. The main organization that offers certificates and testing curriculum in Canada is Royal Conservatory of Music. Jane Creba Jane Creba (May 13, 1990 – December 26, 2005), a Grade 10 student at Riverdale Collegiate Institute, was killed in the incident. While shopping with her sister, she was exiting Pizza Pizza on the west side of the street, when the gunfight erupted. The Prefects consists of students in grade 10 to 12 who are selected by teachers at the end of every school year. Prefects volunteer at events during the school year and occasionally organize their own events.
In 2002 the school made the decision to move all high school (grade 10-12) teachers and students at the original Baihua 6th Road campus to the new campus. The new campus then became the de facto high school though the Baihua 6th Road campus continues to maintain its own high school education with newly recruited teachers and students. Jing Shiru was the school's founding principal and retired in 2007. His successor was Cao Yanqing ,who has retired in 2014.
ACS Jakarta began in July 1996 as Sekolah Tiara Bangsa (STB) before formally joining the ACS Family as STB-ACS (International) Jakarta in July 2006 following a number of years of collaboration. The name was officially changed to ACS Jakarta in 2015. It caters to students from Nursery to Grade 12. Students in Grades 16 follow the syllabus prescribed by the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Programme, while Grade 10 students sit for the IGCSE after beginning their preparation in Grade 9.
There were 35 pupils in form II (grade 9) and 10 in form III (grade 10); 45 in total. Mr De Lange was supported by Mr DJ (Dawie) Malan and Miss MM de Vos who were joined on 11 February by Mr. HCP Sack. Mr De Lange later became head at the Commercial Branch at the Pretoria Technical College. The school with 45 children and 3 teachers was housed in the home of General Piet Joubert at 218 Visagie Street, Central Pretoria.
Teaching is undervalued and underpaid as a profession and this was not helped by the selection procedure. Prior to 2010, students with lower achievement at grade 10 could go to a Teacher Training Institute (TTI) or a College of Teacher's Education (CTE) for a certificate or diploma. If students passed the EHEEE, education faculties took students with lower GPAs than other faculties. Teaching is hard work with high mean pupil/teacher ratios in primary schools and many operating a double shift.
Gonzaga Regional High School is an educational establishment located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The school began as a Jesuit sponsored all-boys school from grades 9 to 11. It is now a non-denominational coeducational institute for students from grade 10 (level 1) to grade 12 (level 3), with a 4th level available for those wishing to repeat courses, or those who need extra credits to pass. It is adjacent to the Jesuit St. Pius X Church.
The University of Santo Tomas, located in Manila, was established in 1611. Education in the Philippines has been influenced by Western and Eastern ideology and philosophy from the United States, Spain, and its neighbouring Asian countries. Philippine students enter public school at about age four, starting from nursery school up to kindergarten. At about seven years of age, students enter elementary school (6 to 9 years) this include Grade 7 to Grade 10 as junior high school, then after, they graduate.
The German public school system is fundamentally selective after four years of elementary school. The selective Gymnasium (grades 5 through 12 or 13 (depends on the state)) is supposed to prepare pupils for university. The German Realschule is also a selective school, though with lower requirements, ending at grade 10. The pros and cons of a selective school system are a constant issue in discussions about German schools, while many parents take strong efforts to make their children attend Gymnasium.
Calvin Christian Collegiate was established in 2002 to extend the educational program at Calvin Christian School into the high school years. The former Park Circle School in Transcona was purchased in the early months of 2002, renovations were undertaken and by September the school was ready for occupancy. The grade 7 to 9 population from the Sutton Avenue campus was moved to the new location and grade 10 was added that year. In subsequent years grade 11 and 12 were added.
In terms of education, there are many schools in Ondangwa such as Heroes Private School, Nangolo Secondary School, Iihenda Secondary School and Ondangwa Secondary School. There are also primary schools such as Olukolo Primary School and Ondangwa Prof-Private School and many other. Apart from schools that offer full time classes, there are also schools which offer part time classes to learners who want to improve their grade 10 and 12 results. These are schools such as Elite and NAMCOL.
Students who were in grade 10 at that time were given the option to complete grades 11 and 12 at West Vancouver Secondary School or stay at Rockridge as the school expanded by one grade each year until graduation in 2004. Because of the capacity of the school (which was not originally designed to hold five grades), the graduating class of 2004 was about 125 students, as opposed to the larger classes of WVSS which could number in the hundreds.
The CIE board offers Islamiyat and Pakistan Studies to meet those requirements. Non Muslims are exempted from Islamiyat but still have to write an exam based on Pakistan's History and Geography. Students are given an option to choose their optional subjects in grade 10 while all students are required to take the five compulsory subjects which are English as First Language, Mathematics Syllabus D, Urdu as Second Language, Islamiyat and Pakistan Studies. The O Level examinations are given in two phases.
Secondary education in Pakistan begins from grade 9 and lasts for four years. After end of each of the school years, students are required to pass a national examination administered by a regional Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (or BISE). SJAM offers pre-advanced placement courses for grade 9 and 10 students, and advanced placement courses for grade 11 and 12 students. SJAM is the Waterloo site of the WRDSB's Fast Forward program. About 17 per cent (245) of SJAM students are in Fast Forward Program. Since 2008, SJAM has been the number one ranking school in Waterloo Region in the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), which is administered to all Grade 10 students in the Province of Ontario.

After Completing Grade 9, learners will get the German "Hauptschulabschluss" and after Grade 10 the "Mittlere Reife". If the learner decides to continue his or her studies at DSP after Grade 9, the learner has to choose, whether he wants to do the "Kombiabitur", which includes the German "Abitur" and the South African NSC or the South African Matric(NSC) and the German Language Diploma "DSD II". With either of them, the learner will be entitled to study in Germany and South Africa .
The Port Credit robotics and manufacturing team has taken part in many robotics competitions. The team was started in 2009 and placed 4th place overall at Skills Ontario. Since then, the team has taken part in the VEX, FRC, and Skills Canada robotics competitions. Port Credit also integrates robotics and manufacturing into the curriculum as part of the SciTech regional program by providing robotics units in the Grade 10 manufacturing class, Grade 11 Computer Engineering Class, and Grade 12 Computer Engineering Class.
In the Chester-Upland School District, ninth grade students must earn seven credits to be promoted to 10th grade. To move from Grade 10 to Grade 11, 13 credits must have been earned. To be promoted from Grade 11 to 12 the student must have earned a total of 20 credits. The district offers students the opportunity to recover up to two credits, not earned during the previous school year through the Credit Recovery Program, which is offered during the second semester and during the summer.
As part of the Gairdner symposium, Grade 10-12 students from all over the lower mainland are invited to discover health science careers and learn about leading edge research. These students are invited to a symposium with two Gairdner award winners, meet health sciences experts and tour research labs. In addition to this, Hayden's lab hosts an annual lab tour for the Huntington Society of Canada Annual General Meeting. Hayden also hosts an annual research update meeting for patients with HD and their families.
In MYP (Middle Years Programme), students are being taught in various aspects. For the Lower MYP (Grade 7, 8 and 9), students are taught all the subject such as Language & Literature (English), Mathematics, Science, Language B (Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu), Physical & Health Education, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Design and Individuals & Societies. As for the Upper MYP (Grade 10 & 11), student will have to attend classes according to their selected subject. All Malaysians are required to take Bahasa Melayu, as it is an official language in Malaysia.
Basic Education High School (BEHS) No. 2 Latha (; abbreviated to အ.ထ.က (၂) လသာ; formerly St. John's Convent School; commonly known as Latha 2 High School) is one of the most well known public high schools in Myanmar. Located in Latha Township opposite the Yangon General Hospital and next to the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, the all-girls school offers classes from Kindergarten to Tenth Standard (until Grade 10 in the new nomenclature). LeJean was born on November 12, 1984, in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Growing up, she enjoyed playing basketball in school, which she did from grade 5 to grade 10. Following her junior year at Glace Bay High School where she had begun to play rugby, LeJean suffered a spinal cord injury in a motor accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Upon returning to school, she was pushed by former Olympian Sue MacLeod to return to sports and complete her rehabilitation in the pool.

Dongguan Middle School-SSL School (Chinese Simplified: 东莞中学松山湖学校, Traditional: 東莞中學松山湖學校) is a middle school located in Dongguan, Guangdong. It attaches to the Bureau of Education of Dongguan. In 2014, it became one of the top ranked middle schools in Guangdong. The school has two main campuses: a junior high school campus that provides classes from grade 7–9; and a senior high school campus that covers grade 10–12.
Ilario Enrico "Eli" Pasquale (August 24, 1960 – November 4, 2019) was a Canadian basketball player. A 6-foot, 1-inch point guard, he led the Canadian national men's basketball team during two Olympic Games, three FIBA World Championships, and two Pan American Games. Born in Sudbury, Pasquale grew up in Gatchell, Ontario, a predominantly Italian neighbourhood of Sudbury. He played his first organized basketball in Grade 8 on his school team, St. Francis School. By grade 10, Pasquale's height was a mere 5 feet, 3 inches.
It was originally planned to increase this incentive to the poorest 60% of schools by 2009. The incentive only applies to children in the GED band, and children who wish to complete grade 10-12 must still pay the full fee. In 2008, some 5 million learners in 14 264 schools benefited from the No Fee school programme, and most of those learners were in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo provinces. Not all schools who qualify for this incentive make use of it.
Successfully completing the final (grade 10) ISTEP Graduation Qualifying Exam (GQE) was not necessary to graduate from an Indiana public high school. This test covered English/Language Arts and Mathematics. If a student did not pass this test, he or she was placed in remediation classes the following semester for the subject(s) that he or she failed and remained in those classes until the semester after passing both sections. Students could retake the exam during their junior and senior year of high school.

For grade 10 applicants, an overall average of 80% is required, although summer-school courses are not included.

South Korean primary schools abandoned the teaching of Hanja in 1971, although they are still taught as part of the mandatory curriculum in grade 6. They are taught in separate courses in South Korean high schools, separately from the normal Korean-language curriculum. Formal Hanja education begins in grade 7 (junior high school) and continues until graduation from senior high school in grade 12. A total of 1,800 Hanja are taught: 900 for junior high, and 900 for senior high (starting in grade 10).

Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School is a Catholic high school located in North Oakville in the River Oaks area within Oakville, Ontario. The school’s construction was completed in the summer of 2002 and the school opened to new students and staff in September 2002. The school initially had only Grade 9, Grade 10 and Grade 11 students. This was Holy Trinity's first year open and the size was approximately 800 students, while the 2018-2019 student and staff member count has more than doubled in size.

MIS offers all three programmes of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) - International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP), IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). In Grade 10 it also used to allow students to optionally take the IGCSE International General Certificate of Secondary Education, however since 2016-2017, it has been replaced by the mandatory IB MYP Certificate. Munich International School provides a co- educational, international, English language learning environment for students aged 4 –18. There are academic standards and a curriculum.
In 1962, another campus was opened in Austins Ferry, offering junior secondary grades (Grades 7–9) on a riverside property of 30 hectares. In 1991, three Grade 10 streams were also added. 2012 marks the 50 year celebrations for the campus. The Barrack Street campus then expanded for students from Grades 7–12 until 1994 when, under the Southern Secondary Schools Restructuring Plan, the campus no longer accepted enrolments for Grade 7. At the end of 1994, Grades 8, 11 and 12 ceased to run at the Barrack Street campus, and all secondary grades were moved to the Austins Ferry campus. This allowed Guilford Young College (Grades 11 and 12) to be established on the Barrack Street site. Grades 9 and 10 still ran in 1995, and only Grade 10 was offered in 1996. After 1996, St Virgil's College ceased to operate any of its classes on the Barrack Street campus. From then on, Grades 7–10 were all taught at the Austins Ferry campus, and because of the discontinuation of Grades 11–12, many students moved on to the newly formed Guilford Young College for their pre- tertiary years.
At the age of 6, according to her father, she could precisely tell the note of each key on the piano and sing it out. Eventually she was qualified as a Grade 10 piano player, which is the highest qualification level in China. Her first recording for the local TV station took place at the age of 9, after her father discovered her unique voice when she was singing the national anthem. She continued to sing for galas on the local TV channels as a child star through her teenage years.
Starting in Grade 3, students have a Drama class where they learn theatre skills. Once in grade 10, the students are required to put on a public play, everyone in the class must participate whether they act or work in tech. The performances are held in either the school auditorium or the "P-scène", a smaller auditorium in the basement of the school (see Facilities below). The grade 11 students also have to opportunity to put on a student production, which is extra-curricular and put on entirely by the students.

The coeducational school offers Nursery, Preparatory, Elementary (Grade 1 to Grade 6), Junior High School (Grade 7 to Grade 10) and Pre-University: Senior High School (Grade 11 to Grade 12) programs and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). It is the oldest of the two Judenite institutions in the country.
Today the Presentation Brothers operate elementary and secondary schools in the West Indies, Ireland, Ghana, Nigeria, and Canada. In June 1984, the Ontario Government announced it would begin funding Catholic high schools beyond Grade 10 beginning in 1985. In 1987 Brebeuf ceased to be a private school, although it maintained a culture and many traditions of an independent institution. The school's population grew rapidly from approximately 600 to over 1,200 by 1992 with "portapaks" joined by a hallway erected in the parking lot; most Grade 9 classes are conducted there.

His father, Bill Lewenza, was a longtime steward and committeeman with Local 444. Lewenza dropped out of high school after Grade 10, at age 16, worked in a gas station, married the next year, and had a son when he was still 17. In 1972, he went from the $1.65-an- hour minimum wage job at the gas station, to a $4.48 job on the chassis line at Chrysler Canada's Windsor automobile assembly plant. For the first three years he was in the plant, Lewenza's father was still there, serving as a committeeman.
ISH provides a range of curriculums. Also available to students is Music Production, a course teaching the recording and mastering of music using computers. In 2005, the French immersion programme for students was introduced at Streetsville Secondary School where students can learn bilingualism in Canada. The courses offered are: French Immersion (Grades 9-12), Science and Geography of Canada (Grade 9), Contemporary Canadian History, Career Studies, and Civics (Grade 10), World History to the 16th Century (Grade 11), and Canadian and World Issues: A Geographic Analysis (Grade 12). Up until summer of 2005, the school had 13 portable buildings.
Its basketball team nearly disbanded before Stauskas's grade 10 season in 2008–09, when Loyola was in danger of not fielding a team because school policy required the presence of a teacher. Although his father, a computer consultant, was willing to volunteer as a coach, no teacher was willing to serve. Stauskas's father finally found a French teacher who sat in the gym and graded papers while his father coached. In the meantime, Stauskas joined the premier Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team in Toronto, run by Ro Russell.
The main recruitment of OC Program is for Grade 10 to Grade 12 students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign countries. Under the instruction of the Department of Chinese Ministry of Education, OC Chinese courses are provided to teach standard Chinese high school study materials and Shanghai PEP combination courses. The courses are taught in classes of no more than 30 students by the teachers of Nanyang Model High School Domestic Division. The students attend the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan joint examination and the entrance examination for foreign students held by Chinese universities.

Nkana trust formally called Kitana trust has produced notable names such as Zambia's king of comedy and film director Bob Nkosha. Elim Primary School is a small school that provides pre-school and primary school following a Zambian Standard syllabus (mainly Macmillan and Longman), and provides the basic facilities in swimming and athletics four times a week. Despite its small size, it produces one of the nation's best Grade 7 composite examination.
Boarding students are divided into three residences, which are Baker House, for boys in Grade 7 to 9, Graham Hall, for boys in Grade 10, 11 and 12 and Victoria Manor, for all boarding girls. Prospective students must have achieved a minimum of 75% in all grade 9 core subjects including English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, and Religion. In grade 10, all students complete a general honours program. Once students have completed one year of studies, they may choose to continue in one of three programs offered in grades 11 and 12: Academic, Honours, and International Baccalaureate (IB). Students may choose to take all courses in one program or choose different courses in different programs in order to complete their academic plan for success.
Teachers are trained in 34 colleges of teacher education (CTE) and 10 universities. Previously, kindergarten and primary schools, grades 1 to 4, required a one or two year teaching certificate while grades 4 to 8 needed a three-year diploma. Bina Bangsa School is an authorized Cambridge International Examinations Center. Students attempt the Cambridge IGCSE examinations during Secondary 4 (Grade 10) before attempting the Cambridge GCE A-Level examinations in Junior College 2 (Grade 12). The A-Level examinations follow the Option 3 of the assessment options, but students have the option of doing retakes during the following year's May/June session and work on them together with the A2 Level examinations if they wish to. The school follows a Singaporean style curriculum. The education program in BBS includes Grade 1 to Grade 12.
Students in Alberta have their courses mandated but normally after each section of schooling they are given more freedom in what they can choose to take. Then starting in high school most courses begin to be labeled with a dash, for example "Math 20-1", where "-1" is the highest level followed by "-2", etc. Courses are also labeled with a 10, 20, 30, or in some cases 31. 10, the lowest, is generally taken in grade 10 followed by 20 taken in grade 11 and so on.

The IB Diploma/Certificate programme begins in the middle of a student's grade 10 year with Math and/or Physics/Biology. Other IB courses begin during the grade 11 year and include Art, Chemistry, Computer Science, World History, English, French and Mandarin. This academic program is demanding but encourages students to be well-rounded individuals. During their grade 11 year, IB students taking, at least, one of the IB Group 4 subjects are required to complete a science fair style project, demonstrating their knowledge of the scientific concepts behind a topic of their choosing.
One credit is equal to one completed course per semester, with the maximum credits earned per semester being four-to-five. Each school year is separated into two semesters, or four terms; while it takes one semester for one credit, there are two compulsory courses taken in Grade 10 that each take up one term, earning half a credit upon completion, adding up to one credit, and being considered as one course that has merely been separated. The course credit system is similar to the one used in the United States.
Under an international General Certificate of Secondary Education, this ambidextrous young lady appeared for the Grade 10 exam at the age of eight. Completing the examination, conducted by the Cambridge International Examinations CIE Board, she became the youngest Asian girl to pass that level of testing. At the end of Ms. Kumar's tenth year, she also completed Grades 11 and 12 from Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education. At age 12, she had already began her sophomore year toward a B.A. in Mass Communication at St. Mary's College.
When it opened it used one room for grades 1–4, another for 5–8, one for 9, and one for grade 10. Blankenship reported it never was used for a high school that students would graduate from, but rather served as an elementary school in its later years. The school was founded by Swiss Mennonites living in Waterloo, frustrated with the increasing military influence on wartime schools in Canada, which clashed with their pacifist beliefs. On February 15th, 1945, delegates from Mennonite Conference of Eastern Canada made the decision to open a new Mennonite high school. They raised $50,000 and purchased a farmhouse and barn on Doon Road near the Rockery (now Rockway Gardens) to convert into their first school building. Classes began in September 1945, with twenty-seven grade 9 and eleven grade 10 students.
The Sri Lankan Ordinary Level (O-level) is a General Certificate of Education (GCE) qualification in Sri Lanka, conducted by the Department of Examinations of the Ministry of Education. It is based on the Cambridge University Ordinary Level qualification. An O-level is a qualification of its own right, but more often taken in prerequisite for the more in-depth and academically rigorous Advanced Level exams. It is usually taken by students during the final two years of Senior secondary school (Grade 10 & 11 (usually ages 15–16)) or external (non-school) candidate.
On 3 February 1953 there was a formal opening ceremony. W.G.A. (Wally) Mears, formerly of Rondebosch Boys High School, was the first headmaster, and taught English, Latin, History and Geography to the high school classes, with Mr E.M. Harris teaching Maths, Science and Scripture, and Mr Minnaar teaching Afrikaans. In the second year (1954) classes in the school ran from Grade 1 to Grade 10, and in 1956 the first group wrote the matriculation examination. As the school grew, Wally Mears, the headmaster, did less teaching, and became more an administrator.
In 2010, while with his friends at school, he caught the attention of a JYP Entertainment scout, who invited him to the auditions. Tuan had no desire to pursue a musical career but was encouraged by his friends and family told him it was a good opportunity and thus, he gave it a try. He moved to South Korea in August 2010, where he learned acrobatics for one year, and martial arts for two years.

Nkosi was born and grew up in Barberton. In 2012, his local team called him up to represent them at the Under-16 Grant Khomo Week tournament, where Nkosi made three appearances. A typical Gezhi student takes eight 45-minute classes a day, five days a week for 16 weeks a semester, 2 semesters a year. The exact numbers of school days each week and school weeks each semester may vary depending on the date of Chinese holidays every year. Advanced Placement courses and Honor classes are not available at Fuzhou Gezhi High School.
In grade 10 he was only 157 cm tall and during his 18th year he grew 13 cm in three months resulting in growing pains. Remarkably by the age of 19 Hall would grow to 186 cm, taller than his father Dale who was 183 cm. Originally from the Hobart Football Club in the Tasmanian State League, the same club as his father, Hall did not play underage football for Tasmania like most AFL prospects from the state. He played alongside future AFL player Jeremy Howe in 2010.

Alachua County moved away from the junior high structure in the late 1970s, opening new middle schools to serve grades 6, 7 and 8. Construction of the sprawling Buchholz campus cost $2.4 million. Progress lagged behind schedule in spring and summer 1970, forcing the school board to develop an improvised class schedule for the fall. When the new school year resumed after Labor Day 1970, students living within the prospective Buchholz school zone who were entering grade 10 remained at Westwood Junior High School, which shifted to a split, double- shift schedule.

Lessard started racing in an old Honda Civic, winning his first race on the day of his twelfth birthday. He then ran Quebec sportsmans and super late models in Canada before moving to America. His first American racing experience came in the CARS Super Late Model Tour, driving the 2015 season for Toyota Racing Development and David Gilliland Racing. In 2016, at age 15, and in grade 10, he became the second non-American to win the CARS Super Late Model series championship, the other being Mario Gosselin, also a Canadian from Quebec, who accomplished the feat in 1997.
The Main Campus has around 30 students in each class, with 8 classes per batch, in a total of about 240 students in each year level. The names of the sections in each year level are in accordance to a theme based on the major subject offered in that particular year level in the former 4-year curriculum. (Earth Science for Grade 7, Biology for Grade 8, Chemistry for Grade 9, and Physics for Grade 10.) Ramakrishnan was born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario. While she is of Hindu Tamil descent from Sri Lanka, with her family coming to Canada as refugees after the civil war in Sri Lanka, Maitreyi has said that she identifies as Tamil Canadian and not Sri Lankan due to the war's impact on Sri Lankan Tamil civilians. She began acting in school plays in Grade 10 and graduated from Meadowvale Secondary School. She made the decision to pursue an acting career in her last year at Meadowvale Secondary School and got the role in Never Have I Ever less than a year after.
Before the educational reform of August 2006, students could choose a practical elective instead of the languages. Teens born in 1999 and later could once again choose a practical elective known as (arbeidslivsfag) or career studies upon starting lower secondary school, thus getting the option to choose two electives. The electives varies massively between schools, even in the same municipality. A student may take the Grade 10 exam in a particular subject early as long as he or she has been granted an exemption from further instruction in the elementary/middle school curriculum of that subject.

The Military Service Act B.E. 2497 (1954) states that all male citizens of Thailand are obliged to serve in the military upon reaching 21 years of age. High school students have the option of enrolling in the three- year Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) during Matthayom 4–6 (i.e., Grade 10–12). ROTC students drill at a local military installation once per week during the school year for a total of 80 hours, with field training exercise at the end of the second year (over the duration 3 days) and third year (over the duration of 5 days).
South High had normal enrollment in its early years, but saw significantly increased numbers in the 1950s and early 1960s, so much so that a major expansion was completed in the early 1960s, which included a large new gym, swimming pool, cafeteria and library. From 1931 until the end of the '74-'75 school year South High facilitated grade 10 through 12. Starting in the fall of 1975, as part of a district-wide change, South High shifted to also include grade 9. More than 36,000 students graduated from South High School between 1931 and 1988.

Tumelo Mathebula moved to Johannesburg in the Gauteng Province after the passing of his parents at the age of 6. He was introduced to a music making software called FL Studio in grade 10 which he thought was a "music making game", he later discovered that it was in fact a music making software. He joined a music group called "Ghetto Prophecy" that consisted of 8 members. The group produced a song called "Oh My" which ranked number 16 on the top 40 songs of YFM and was played frequently on Metro FM as well as 5FM in 2011.
The Upper School consists of students from Grades 7 to 12, with a current enrollment of 746 students, making up almost 40% of the student body. Students in Grades 6–9 take part in the Middle Years Program (MYP), while students in Grade 10–12 take part in the Diploma Program (DP). Phạm Xuân Nguyên was born in Nghệ An Province. He did his early education in neighbouring Hà Tĩnh Province, where in grade 6 and again in grade 10 he won district and provincial awards for writing. He studied Russian as his foreign language in high school, and continued learning it as a student in the literature department of the University of Hanoi (Trường Đại học Tổng hợp Hà Nội, now part of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi). He interrupted his university studies to serve in the People's Army of Vietnam from 1978 to 1982, and was stationed in Ho Chi Minh City.
A student failing the tenth grade test—that is, the test required for graduation—is allowed approximately five additional opportunities to pass it prior to graduation. Originally, students were given four more chances to pass the test after failing it in 10th grade—in October and March of both their junior and senior years in high school. However, starting in 2006, students were provided an additional test administration during the summer between school years. Students, however, may not retake the Grade 10 FCAT during the summer between their sophomore and junior year because additional time is needed for remediation.

Shyamala Menon (Parvathy), who lost touch with Selina after she discontinued her grade 10 studies abruptly. In course of investigation, they discover that Selina happened to become pregnant in her childhood following a gang rape and her father forcibly took her back from school after the school quietly dismissed her. Selina was unaware of this incident, as during a day out from school she and Shyamala smoked cigarettes laced with narcotics offered to them by locals during a festival and was unconscious when she was gang raped. She did not accept the fact even after the birth of her baby.
Wall was familiar with country music growing up as country artists such as Johnny Cash were played at home. He started learning guitar at the age of 13, playing music of rock bands such as AC/DC and Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Later he became interested in old blues artists, and then started to listen to folk music. According to Wall, he first heard Bob Dylan's song "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" around grade 10 or 11 (aged 15 or 16), and he was inspired to start writing and singing songs instead of only playing guitar.

Founder Principal Kazim Eldes established ITHS in Dhaka in 1996. The President of Turkey, Süleyman Demirel, a strong supporter of Turkish schools, officially inaugurated the school while on a state visit in March 1997. The school started as one campus in rented premises serving a small number of very young students. It has since grown to eight campuses in three cities: two preschools, two junior sections (grades 15), and two senior sections (one boys, one girls) in the Gulshan and Uttara areas of Dhaka, a branch in Chittagong that spans from preschool through grade 10, and a preschool and junior section in Bogra.

Born Lynda Maureen Ham and raised in Swift Current, Haverstock left high school after grade 10 to raise her infant daughter. As an adult, she returned to school to finish her education, and ultimately earned bachelor's and master's degrees in education, as well as a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Saskatchewan. Haverstock rose to the forefront of the provincial Liberals in 1989 and was the first woman in Saskatchewan's history to lead a political party. Preparation for the test ranges from "Literacy Monday" activities in Grade 10 classes every Monday from the start of the school year. In 1928, a new, larger brick building was constructed to house Olive Branch High School on land adjacent to the "little round" school. In 1952, Olive Branch High School closed and its grade 10–12 students enrolled in the newly completed Tecumseh High School, one hundred meters away. The brick building which last housed Olive Branch High School then became Olive Branch Junior High School (grades 7 through 9), and in 1981 became Olive Branch Middle School (grades 6 through 8), before being demolished and replaced by Tecumseh Middle School in 2007. Demski started playing football at the young age of seven with the Charleswood Broncos as a runningback. He then started playing football for the Oak Park Raiders where he played QB in grade 10 before moving to runningback and slotback. Tug Valley High School was opened in 1987 as a consolidation of Lenore High School and Kermit High School. Originally projected to open with 750 students, the school opened with around 650 students as a grade 10-12 high school. The school's grade configuration was changed in 1995 to incorporate the 9th grade for the 1995-96 school year. Tug Valley High was built on the site of the old Waldron Farm in Den's Branch. In South Africa, ninth grade marks the end of a student's General Education and Training-phase. Children in South Africa are required to attend school up to the age of fifteen, or completion of the General Education and Training-phase, whichever comes first.
