The Unger Baptist Arogo was founded in 1916 at Unger Village in the Mokokchung District, Nagaland, India. The first recorded baptism took place on 15 June 1916, and the first baptised member of the church was Mr. Noklemchiba. Since then, Unger Baptist Arogo has celebrated Silver and Golden Jubilees. Unger is a village with about 200 households and today 99.9% of the villagers are Christian.

The trees along the top were planted to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. The founder of the school is Rev. Fr. Balthassar J. Pereira. He started the school with twenty students and five teachers with permission of then Bishop of Allahabad Rt. Rev Dr. Leonard Raymond. The remains of the embankment of this line can still be seen, forming part of Brenchley Gardens. The beacon at the summit of One Tree Hill was erected to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George VI in 1935. It was subsequently used for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, her silver and golden jubilees and also at the Millennium. Beacons on the same site were used to give warning of invasion by the Spanish and later the French.

The only Diamond Jubilee celebration for any of Elizabeth's predecessors was in 1897, for the 60th anniversary of the 1837 accession of Queen Victoria. Following the tradition of the Queen's Silver and Golden Jubilees, commemorative events were held throughout the Commonwealth of Nations. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh toured the United Kingdom and other members of the Royal Family toured the rest of the Commonwealth as the monarch's representatives.
