For NME, John Perry wrote that the album was "far from being the industrial, goth knees-up you'd expect" and did little to hold listener interest: "You can't help feeling it would have been better all-round if they hadn't bothered". Ben Mitchell of Select also criticized the album: "An unerring inability to distinguish arse from elbow throughout results in a flimsy 11-track approximation of a gang of mildly irritated moped riders attempting a stage invasion at a Jean-Michel Jarre concert". James Muretich of the Calgary Herald was impressed by "Candle", and wrote that "the band at least goes out with more of a bark than a whimper". Rommie Johnson of The Tampa Tribune gave the album two stars out of four, writing that the Last Rights track "Download" would have been "the perfect ending" for the band.

In the end, Andy has to grudgingly admit over drinks that there was a racial motivation to the way he reacted, and goes overboard trying to prove that he does not, in fact, object to Venus dating his sister, forcing the two of them to dance together at the bar just so he can show that he doesn't have a problem with it. Andy and Venus finally patch up their differences by teaming up to punch out an unapologetic racist objecting to Carol and Venus dancing.
When a player has melded all 14 cards, the players count up the points in their hand with each card valued as its rank, face cards are 10 points (A hand with 6, Q, Q would be 26 points) and aces are 15 points (A hand with A, 3 would be 18 points). This total is added to the player's running score and if he finishes with a score of 76 or more he can buy in for the starting amount of cash, he would then have a score equal to the highest score of 75 or less. A player with less than 76 points wins when all the other players have 76 points or more. Example At the start of a hand players A, B, C and D have the following points:- A – 31 B – 5 C – 19 D – 47 In the next hand, players C goes out with the other players having the following deadwood counts:- A – 58, B – 6, D – 29.

On his upcoming birthday, as a cruel but well-executed prank, Leung and Fei will feign a lottery win worth $30 million using a useless ticket and a recorded tape bearing the lottery pick from a previous night, all as Kung's birthday present. Excessive greed causes Kung to fall for it, and he immediately (after trying to fool his family so he himself can have all the money) goes out with a selected girlfriend, Gigi, and hits it off at a night club. Instead he runs afoul of Triad member Brother Smartie, who wants a game of dice. Kung easily loses $1 million, as well as $5000 to Gigi, and he relies on his "winnings" in order to pay it all back.
