Jingles sneaks into the house, and performs a dark ritual in the attic, while downstairs the ghost of Angela's sister, Amy, manifests. Amy explains that Jingles is powered by the souls of his victims being channeled through something, and is unstoppable as long as he remains on his property.

Tethers is able to sabotage the Ray, but it goes haywire and begins to zap the agents, turning them insane, Tethers is also hit by the ray and he goes insane as well. After unsuccessfully attempting to steal the engine, Eggman and his henchmen kidnap Dodon Pa and hold him hostage on their battleship. He later attends what appears to be a publicity stunt, which goes haywire.

The setting is the following: A team of soldiers on the communist side (which was fighting against the government side) had to carry out an all-important operation: to transport a mission box from one city to another. The mission goes haywire, and at the end the narrator (who was a member of this team) is arrested (not knowing by whom, but initially assuming that it was by "his" side). The book is made up of the "apology" that he writes out on a daily basis on the sheets of paper that his captors provide him with. Mission Box is also very interesting for its elaborate prose.

Dawood gets involved in a fistfight with them and after Hyder tells him the whole story behind this episode, they both hatch a plan to rob Shamer and take all his money and return the same to clear the debt. Both of them go to Shamer's house to rob him but their plan goes haywire during the robbery when Dawood kills Shamer. While both Hyder and Dawood manage to escape after Shamer's untimely demise, the murder is witnessed by Nadeem.

The two get the others, and they all try to make a run for it, but retreat back to the manor when they spot Guy's body on the path, tied to a cross and set ablaze by Jingles, who taunts Angela. Jingles sneaks into the house, and performs a dark ritual in the attic, while downstairs the ghost of Angela's sister, Amy, manifests. Amy explains that Jingles is powered by the souls of his victims being channeled through something, and is unstoppable as long as he remains on his property.
Tethers is able to sabotage the Ray, but it goes haywire and begins to zap the agents, turning them insane, Tethers is also hit by the ray and he goes insane as well. He then rushes away from the lander with the Ray, moving the barrier blocking the Hidden People away from the campsite and allowing them to return home. Tethers carries the Ray to Lake Svenz and attempts to throw it into the water, but the thick layer of ice on the surface prevents it from falling through. However, the Sasquatch which Korka had theorised about suddenly emerges from the trees near the lake and splits the ice, sinking the Ray to the bottom and finally ending its reign of lunacy over Scoggins.
However, when Maya arranges a meeting between them, things don't seem to work out because Sanjana happens to rubbish away Kishan's accusations against Raj. Polo, trying to please her, hires a man to hit Carmen with a car, but their plan goes haywire when Antonella sacrifices herself to save Carmen, ending up in Leandro's hospital in a coma. She eventually wakes up, and her 'friend', Pia, and Bianca tell her that Patito is happy that Antonella is hurt so that she can have her CD published.

It is now New Year's Eve, and as midnight approaches, Sylvia recovers from her ordeal, Randall's troops search their equipment for embedded SB chips and the Doctor converts George Gardner's programme into one he can download from his sonic screwdriver. At midnight GMT, 1 January 2000, London is crippled by power failures, bank machines refuse to distribute cash, and the traffic system goes haywire.
