God made him Indigo's guardian Angel (normally, medium's do not need them because of their abilities) and named him Trust. Lipong has the golden wings of an Angel, but he most often appears as he did when he was alive, dressed in khakis, a striped polo, and sneakers. Lipong's purpose is to teach Indigo to trust God. Gabriella is God's Messenger Angel, not to be mistaken with Gabriel, an Archangel in this story.

The structure of the work is simple: an unnamed country goes to war, and patriotic citizens attend a church service for soldiers who have been called up. The people call upon God to grant them victory and protect their troops. Suddenly, an "aged stranger" appears and announces that he is God's messenger.

Abdullah was martyred at the Battle of Yamama at 38 years old in 632 CE. His brother in law, Abu Hudhayfa ibn 'Utba, foster nephew, Salim Mawla Abu Hudhayfa, and second cousin, Zayd ibn al-Khattab were all killed seconds after him. After his death, Khalid ibn al-Walid said that he had fulfilled his duty and that God's messenger was pleased with him when he died, and prayed for him to go to the highest heaven. He was mourned deeply by his brother, Abu Jandal ibn Suhayl and his father, Suhayl ibn Amr. His father would sometimes pray to Allah to grant mercy and to bestow his grace to Abdullah.

Some of Mwazha's sons are members of the church he formed (The African Apostolic Church) and all of them are Bishops and part of the church's top leadership. He is often called NHUME by the devotees of the African Apostolic church meaning God's messenger. It is noted by The Manica Post that they call him NHUME/Mutumwa because it is believed that Paul Mwazha appears prominently in their dreams fighting their battles spiritually and that he has performed miracles which changed their lives for the better. Mwazha has been consulted by elders in Zimbabwe before to pray for a community which had suffered from a wave of murders.

While she was unconscious, Indie traveled the Spirit World and was informed by Gabriella, God's Messenger Angel, that she will go to Hell when she finally does die if she does not repent for her suicide. On the same night, Indie's childhood friend, Lipong, overdoses on Vitamin A. He and Indigo lie next to each other in the crash room as he dies and she comes back to life.

We then transfer to ancient Egypt, where Aaron is riding a camel in the middle of a desert, where he sings with excitement about being chosen by God to give his message to the pharaoh of Egypt. The book can be conveniently divided into biographical, prose and poetic strands, each of which can be summarised separately. The biographical material is to be found in chapters 26–29, 32, and 34–44, and focuses on the events leading up to and surrounding the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians in 587 BCE; it provides precise dates for the prophet's activities beginning in 609 BCE. The non-biographical prose passages, such as the Temple sermon in chapter 7 and the covenant passage in , are scattered throughout the book; they show clear affinities with the Deuteronomists, the school of writers and editors who shaped the series of history books from Judges to Kings, and while it is unlikely they come directly from Jeremiah, they may well have their roots in traditions about what he said and did. The poetic material is found largely in chapters 1–25 and consists of oracles in which the prophet speaks as God's messenger.
