In 1977, Gladding-Hearn was the first American shipyard to launch a tug equipped with a Z-drive propulsion system, and in 1978 built the first pilot boat to a deep-V hull design by naval architect C. Raymond Hunt that became the industry standard in following years. In December 2009 Graham Goddard was invited to exhibit at Horizon's Fine Art in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago with Bob Mackie and Jonathon Guy- Gladding. The building was covered with architectural terra cotta manufactured by Gladding, McBean, as was typical of many west coast buildings from this era. In an unusual move, all four sides were covered since they were all visible in the downtown location. The 12-floor building was tall, including a tower atop the building, emblazoned vertically with the name "Richfield". Lighting on the tower was made to simulate an oilwell gusher and the motif was reused at some Richfield service stations.

The New Haven District Campground is located on northwestern Plainville, on about of land northeast of the junction of Camp Street and Northwest Drive. It consists of a network of roads, entered via Gladding Avenue, that radiate to the north from Circle Avenue, at whose center is the main pavilion. The roads are otherwise densely built with small wood- frame cottages. All are one to two stories in height, and many feature gingerbread decoration typical of other camp meeting architecture.

The Newton Homestead is a historic octagon house located on Ridge Road in the South Otselic hamlet of the town of Otselic, Chenango County, New York. It was built about 1860 by Leroy and Courtland Newton, and is a two-story, rubble filled concrete building sheathed in stucco. It has a hipped roof topped by an octagonal wooden cupola. More than 25 percent of the terra cotta tiles on the facade had deteriorated and were replaced. The company that created the original tiles, Gladding, McBean, was still in business though its name had changed to Interpace Co. Interpace still had the plans for the original tiles in its files and used those plans to create the replacement tiles. Each tile weighed 550 pounds and was fired in a kiln at 2,060 degrees. Lincoln remained a sleepy town until the mid-1990s, when the suburbs of Sacramento started expanding out past nearby Roseville. The city is now experiencing a new period of growth. As of the 2010 census, the population was 42,819, for a growth rate of 282.1% since 2000, making Lincoln the fastest- growing city in the United States over the last decade.

Cinematic entertainment began at number 83 Upper Street, Islington when the Pesaresi brothers ran their original animated picture show in the then vacant shop. After success, and gaining financial assistance from Thomas Harrold who ran the "fancy drapery" store next door at number 82, they bought out Stean's Printers, Fosdykes' Confectionery and Vivian Lester's Sign Writers, numbers 84 to 86 respectively. They demolished the old shops and built a new purpose-built electric theatre designed by architects Boreham & Gladding, which opened in October 1913.

Warren W. Brandt Hall is a 17-story dormitory, that is located on the northeast corner of the Virginia Commonwealth University Monroe Park campus. The building is adjacent to Rhoads Hall, and houses 640 freshmen students. The building was dedicated on August 24, 2005 and opened for the 2005–06 academic school year, being the newest residence building on campus until the construction of Gladding Residence Center, Phase III. The building is named in Warren W. Brandt, who was the first president of VCU.

On October 11, 1898, the building was gutted by a massive fire. The walls remained standing, and the Northern Pacific began to dismantle the structure, removing some 40,000 of the unique Roman bricks manufactured by Gladding, McBean that would be used to construct still-existing train stations in Missoula, Montana, and Wallace, Idaho. The Tacoma School District purchased the gutted building on February 19, 1904, with the intent of turning it into a high school. The redesign and later renovations were planned by the school's architect, Frederick Heath.

He was a right-handed pitcher over all or parts of thirteen seasons (1961–1973) with the Detroit Tigers and Houston Astros. Born in Flat Rock, Michigan, and attended Flat Rock Community High School. He was listed as tall and . For his career, he compiled a 48–34 record and 109 saves in 450 appearances, all but one as a relief pitcher, with a 3.13 earned run average and 394 strikeouts in 601 innings pitched.

Additionally, she founded Marblehead Land Company in 1921, and most notably, the Malibu Potteries in 1926, the first business in Malibu. The Pioneer Building is a symmetrical block, measuring . The exterior walls are constructed of Bellingham Bay gray sandstone at the basement and first floor, with red brick on the upper five floors (with the exception of two stone pilasters which extended to the full height of the tower over the main entrance). Spandrel panels and other ornamental elements are terra cotta from Gladding, McBean in California. There are three projecting bays of cast iron, the curved bays at the corner and on the James Street facade, and the angled bay above the main entrance.

The company was founded by Seattle founder Arthur A. Denny in 1892 when he bought out predecessor company Puget Sound Fire Clay Company and named it Denny Clay Company. His son Orion O. Carlisle Gymnasium is an indoor arena on the campus of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was the home of the New Mexico Lobos basketball team from its opening in 1928 until the completion of the larger Johnson Gymnasium in 1957, and was also the original venue of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. The building currently houses the university's Elizabeth Waters Center for Dance. The building was designed by the firm of Gaastra, Gladding and Johnson in the Pueblo Revival architectural style, which was the de facto official style for all new buildings on campus.

The service is a licensed National Park Service concessioner, and the only provider of scheduled ferry access to the Dry Tortugas for a ten-year term through 2020. Fellows designed the expansion in the Beaux-Arts style of architecture with brick walls and a terracotta facade and it was built in 1914-1915 by Herdal Brothers of Auburn and dedicated on April 25, 1916. The terracotta was supplied by Gladding, McBean and Company which is still in existence. The first floor, which once housed a J. C. Penney store, continues to be used for retail and office space while the second floor continues to be used by Eureka Lodge and other Masonic-related bodies. On December 19, 2011, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Architects Curlett and Beelman created a spectacular four-story Italianate complex, with its own power plant and gorgeous polychrome murals by Gladding, McBean depicting the tire and rubber-making process. A year after the plant opened in 1928, it doubled in size, and grew to nearly by 1954. The town grew around Firestone, its main boulevard was named after Harvey, and Los Angeles became the number one tire market in the country. By the mid-1970s, Ford and GM had massive layoffs as Firestone and other manufacturers opened new plants in non-union locales like Wilson, North Carolina.

MV Grey Lady IV is a high-speed catamaran ferry operated by Hy-Line Cruises that runs on a route between Hyannis and Nantucket, Massachusetts. Hy-Line's request to regulator Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority to construct the ship that would become Grey Lady IV was approved in May 2014, and the vessel was ordered from Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding in February 2015. Construction began on May 13, 2015, with delivery planned for early June 2016. However, delays during construction meant that she was not launched until July 6, and Hy-Line finally took delivery on August 31.

He was again the team's leading closer in 1965, collecting 10 saves. He also posted a 2.78 ERA, which tied him for second among all relievers who had over 20 appearances on the team. In her international competitions she has won one bronze and one silver with three 4th, one 8th, one 6th and one 10th. On the other hand, in her domestic events she got four golds, one silver, one 10th and lastly one 4th. As a junior, she won all three platform events at the British junior nationals, and then won silver at the junior European championships platform final in 2008 following with a 4th- place finish at the junior world championships later that year. In 2009, she teamed up with Monique Gladding and won 6th place at the senior world championships in the synchro event the same year.

Other Southern California potteries producing solid colored earthenware tableware and kitchenware products around the same time period as the introduction of Bauer's California Colored Pottery were Gladding, McBean & Co.'s Franciscan Ware, Metlox Manufacturing Company, Pacific Clay Potteries' Hostess Ware, Vernon Kilns' Early California, and Catalina Clay Products' Catalina Pottery. By 1933, the company added ruffled or "ring" dishes, including its distinctive Ringware line, named for the concentric circles that mark the pieces. In 1934, Fred Johnson, Matt Carlton's nephew and an accomplished hand-thrower formerly with the Niloak Pottery in Benton, Arkansas, joined the company. Fred Johnson added new shapes to Bauer Pottery's table and art ware lines.

Born in 1907 to John Gladding Aldrich and Margaret Putnam Calder. Aldrich’s love of art began in his childhood home in Providence, Rhode Island, where his parents both painted and were influential in the creation of the Providence Art Club. The family often took painting vacations to Glocester, Rhode Island and to Little Compton, Rhode Island where they painted with their good friends, the Burleighs (local artist Sydney Burleigh was known to Aldrich as Uncle Tid). Later the Aldriches traveled to Europe and the Caribbean, taking every opportunity to stop by the side of the road to paint when coming upon an inspiring view.

Sarah Barrow was born on 22 October 1988. She competed at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in the 10 m synchro event with Monique Gladding. The team finished in fifth. She competed in the same event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, this time with Tonia Couch. They finished fourth, and replicated this result at the 2011 European Championships. She won the gold medal at the 2012 European Championships at the 10 metre synchro event, with Tonia Couch. They scored a then personal best of 319.56 points, beating the Ukrainian pair by 8.88 points. This was the first European medal awarded to female British divers in 74 years.

The 1917 Auckland Rugby League season was its 9th. Due to the large number of players now serving in the First World War it was agreed to relax transfer rules to allow players from stronger teams to join weaker teams to even the competition. It was noted how many men from various clubs had been killed in battle by the beginning of 1917. They were formed in 1909 when the Auckland Rugby League competition was in its infancy, having its own first General Meeting that same season. They were officially born on the evening of 23 July 1909 when a meeting was held at the Devonport Council Chambers. The following people were elected officers for the inaugural season: President – Dr. Guinness, Vice Presidents – Dr. Bennett, Captain Pilkington, Mr W. Swinnerton, Mr. A. Goldwater, and Mr. D. W. McLean, Committee – Mr. F. Gladding, Mr. P. Gerrard, Mr. Clark, Mr. Marshall, Mr. Wells, and Mr. Powell, with Mr. A. J. Powley the Secretary and Treasurer. They played in the first ever rugby league match between two Auckland club teams when they played City Rovers at Eagleton's Paddock in Epsom.

Bizos was the son of Antonios "Antoni" Bizos, the mayor of the small village of Vasilitsi, south of Koroni and Kalamata on the Messenia peninsula of the Peloponnese, Greece. He was born on 14 November 1927, although this was erroneously recorded on his South African identity documents as 1928, owing to his father's declaration to the authorities upon arrival in Egypt. In May 1941 at the age of thirteen, Bizos and his father helped seven New Zealand Army soldiers (Don Gladding, Mick Karup, Peter Martin, John Lewis and three others) who were hiding in the hills to escape the German-occupied Greek mainland for Crete. The 9 set out to sea at night, with only a cheap compass and a map torn from an atlas, intending to escape to Crete.

Goldi village along the Amur River, north of Khabarovsk in southeastern Russia, 1895 From 1894 to 1896 Jackson was a member and photographer for the World's Transportation Commission, organized by Joseph Gladding Pangborn, a publisher for the Railroad. The purpose of the trip was to document traditional and novel forms of transportation internationally, though many photographs did incorporate the local environment and people. Commission members left New York on September 25, 1894, and traveled across the world. They visited North Africa, the Middle East, India and Australia, then moved on to East Asia, Russia, Europe, East Africa, then finally South and Central America before returning home to the US. Jackson produced more than 900 photographs for the commission, which are now part of a collection on display at the Library of congress.

Stevens v. Gladding, 58 U.S. 447 (1854), was a United States Supreme Court case in which the Court held the copyright of a work is not attached to the physical copperplate used to print the work, so purchasing the copperplate does not purchase the copyright.. It also applied a principle from English law that courts of equity could not award penalties and concluded that copyright infringement damages categorically could not be awarded by equity, as distinguished from legal actions under common law. This meant that copyright holders would be required to file separate lawsuits for injunctions against the continued printing of works created by them (equity) and for requesting retroactive payment from infringers (law). That procedural requirement remained in place until the federal courts merged the law and equity dockets in 1938.
