Hamsalekha laid the foundation stone for Desi Music University on the day of Kannada Rajyotsava on 1 November 2010. The university will be built with 1.20 billion on of land in Mudhigere village near Channapatna in Karnataka. The Dravidian University of Andhra Pradesh has given recognition to this Hamsalekha College of Performing Arts.

A desire for a new territorial government kept the elected officials from taking their offices, as doing so would have given recognition to the Kansas Territorial government. In the meantime, Hiram J Graham, the local delegate to Congress, had successfully introduced a bill to establish a new territory in Pike's Peak Country. Though the bill did not pass, it nevertheless encouraged settlers to establish a separate government themselves.

Irish writers have shared their skills in poetry, fiction, theatre, and screen – with workshops in song writing, comic writing and storytelling also subsequently added. Competitions were introduced, together with a series of literary awards, which have given recognition to new writers over the last number of years. In that time many Irish and international literary figures have gathered in Listowel at the annual festival to celebrate the work of new and established writers.

The chancellor of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, a university situated in the state of Johor, is the current Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim. Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah, the wife of the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was appointed as the new chancellor of Open University Malaysia to take over the role from the first chancellor, the late YBhg Datin Paduka Seri Endon Mahmood (Abdullah Badawi's first wife). Recently, UCSI in Kuala Lumpur has given recognition to Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Abdul Rahman Arshad as its first chancellor.

On September 9, 1908, the Wright Brothers brought their 1908 Wright Flyer at Fort Myer for acceptance trials, and on its second flight Lahm accompanied Orville as a passenger, the first U.S. military officer to fly in a powered airplane, on a flight of six minutes and 24 seconds.Ironically, Lahm's father preceded him in that aerial feat too.

American football was the first sport which was practiced in this institution. For more than 50 years, ITESM American football team has had remarkable performance and has given recognition to its undergraduate and graduate students. The tradition of practicing this sport at the ITESM began back then in 1945 when the institution assigned to Alexander Solis Carranco, who was an American football player and trainer, the task of creating and training an American football squad. The training began with a game explanation and a physical training program which consisted of basic exercises such as calisthenics, run practice, passes, and scrimmages.

With the Soviet Union having given recognition to the Soviet Athletics Federation, she finally gained official status as the world record holder with a mark of in 1948, adding twenty one centimetre's to the previous best by Gisela Mauermayer. Several Commonwealth and national-level awards and honours have given recognition to DeMarco's distinguished career over the many years in which he served and shaped Windsor's institution of higher learning. The University of Windsor came into existence in 1963, after evolving from Essex College where DeMarco was Principal, as well as Dean of Applied Science, from 1959 to 1963. Earlier, in the early 1950s, DeMarco had championed the establishment of a separate, but affiliated Essex College to complement the role of Windsor's Assumption College, a long established Catholic liberal arts college under the Congregation of St. Basil. In particular, Windsor's first university degree programs specializing in science and engineering were initiated in the newly created Essex College in the 1950s by DeMarco, a chemical engineer by background.

The CLH Group's main activity consists of transporting oil products – essentially gasolines, diesels, fuel oils and aviation fuels – from the refineries to the storage facilities the company has distributed across the whole of Spain, where its customers' tank trucks load these products and deliver them to the end consumers.
