Over dinner at Dev and Sunita's flat, Shelley suggests to Dev that Charlie could do the job for mates' rates and he could start as soon as possible, as he doesn't have much work at the moment. Charlie is furious about this and tells Shelley that she has made him look like a fool so Shelley apologises again. In December 2004, Shelley gets in touch with her mother and they arrange to meet for lunch.

Ugo Cremonesi aka Picchio is a former comedian of avanspettacolo over the years, who temporarily stays in a hospice for artists waiting to receive a check with a large sum of money. Here he falls in love with the young and beautiful Renata who works there as a waitress. When Picchio finally receives the arrears of his pension, he decides to run away with the girl, promising to throw her into the world of the magazine. The two arrive in Rome, settle in a luxurious hotel and Picchio gets in touch with an impresario he knows, who however explains without too many compliments that the show has long been dead.

While investigating Hitchcock and Scully, Charles informs Jake that he’s on the verge of adopting Nikolaj’s half-brother Dragomir. Dragomir claims to be a 15-year-old but Jake finds a photo of him which shows that he is a 42-year-old fur trapper. Charles eventually gets in touch with Nikolaj’s orphanage and confirms the existence of a 34-year-old half-brother, who will be visiting soon.

He bears the likeness of Robert McNamara (the actual Secretary of Defense in 1964), although the character was later rewritten to be the Army Chief of Staff in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. He makes an unvoiced appearance in the end of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, where he can be seen standing next to Major Zero during FOXHOUND's inauguration ceremony. In Peace Walker, the character, who is now the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, gets in touch with Big Boss when Peace Walker launches false nuclear launch data.

Sherman 'Tank' Turner (Dane Cook) is a help line operator and a ladies man with a hobby: If a guy loses a girl and wants her back, he gets in touch with Tank and pays him to take the girl on a bad date. After Laura Daniels, who works at a dating consulting firm, leaves to go out on a date with lawyer Michael Krasnick, her roommate Cindy Matthews uses Laura's newly found Ouija board and gets in touch with 21-year-old David, who claims to have been murdered in the New York apartment in 1978. As the pandemic spreads worldwide, meanwhile, the staff of several international research stations in Antarctica begin to pool their resources towards creating a new society in the ice under the so-called "Supreme Council of Antarctica (SCA)." A scientist at Sloan-Kettering gets in touch with Dr. Meyer and is able to piece together all information about the virus for broadcast to the Antarctic bases before he dies. A US Polaris ballistic missile submarine, the USS Nereid, and a Soviet sub, the T-232, make contact with the SCA and are welcomed into an improvised submarine base in Hope Bay. Over the next four years, the community in Antarctica - an estimated 10,000 strong - gradually breaks down national affiliations and learn to live together while tapping the continent's natural resources.
