Vizzini has been criticized by the reddit and gaymer communities, who cite examples of use from as early as 1991, and a Yahoo Groups online community with that name created in 2000.

After Showerings subsequently merged with Allied Breweries in 1968, the cider business was demerged under via management buyout In January 1992 in a new company called Gaymer Group. The Attleborough factory was saved from threatened closure in 1973. In November 1994, Gaymer Group was acquired by Matthew Clark plc, and production was transferred to Shepton Mallet. With modern techniques the new owners were able to carry on making the distinctive Gaymer's cider in Somerset without affecting the distinctive taste.

In 1896 Gaymers moved their business to the nearby town of Attleborough, where the factory had its own railway siding. Because of the rapid expansion Gaymer had difficulty obtaining enough apples of the right quality and variety and established contact with a number of suppliers in Devon. In 1903, the entire apple crop in Britain was a failure: to avert disaster Gaymer set off for Canada by ship and bought enough apples for that year’s production. In 1961, Showerings of Shepton Mallet bought the company.

The Taunton Cider Company was a cider producer, based in Norton Fitzwarren, north west of the county town of Taunton, Somerset, England. The company is best known for being the developer and producer of Blackthorn Cider, now produced by Gaymer Cider Company, a subsidiary of C&C; Group plc of Ireland.

In late August 2009, Full Sail University student Paul S. Nowak began a second survey of gaymer play preferences. The survey focused on "questions of content such as plot, genre, customization and other in-game experiences." The survey team reported that over 7000 people participated in the survey. The results of Nowak's survey were used by Nowak to "build a profile of the gay gamer community and gain unique insight into this financially untapped demographic".

Gail Gaymer Martin is a Christian speaker and an American novelist. Born and raised in Michigan, Gail lives with her husband, Bob, who she considers to be her greatest fan, who also happens to be her proofreader. Along with writing, Gail enjoys music, and she especially enjoys singing as a soloist and choir member at her church; she is a member of the Detroit Lutheran Singers. Gail also plays handchimes and handbells.

It was William Gaymer, junior (1842–1936) who built up the family business to the point at which it employed 400 men, had a London office, a Royal Warrant and a lively export trade, and was a household name. In 1870 he introduced a hydraulic press and began to produce the cider even more commercially for the home market and export. By the late nineteenth century Gaymers had won seven awards at Royal Agricultural Shows and The Royal Horticultural Society’s Silver Banksian Medal.

Diamond White is a brand of white cider produced in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England by Brookfield Drinks, who bought the brand from the Gaymer Cider Company in 2013. Like White Star, it is a cider with an alcohol content of 7.5%. It was launched by the Taunton Cider Company of Shepton Mallet, now part of Matthew Clark, in 1986, and is one of the company's major brands of cider. In 2015, Brookfield relaunched Diamond White with new branding, and launched Diamond Black, an 8% amber cider.

In late 2009 C&C; bought the Gaymer Cider Company giving them a large production facility in Somerset and a distribution warehouse in Bristol. C&C; sold its portfolio of spirits brands in May 2010. The largest of these was Tullamore Dew, the world's second largest selling Irish whiskey after Jameson, Other brands are Carolans Irish Cream, Irish Mist and Frangelico, which are exported to over 80 international markets. In April 2010, C&C; announced it was selling its Spirits & Liqueurs division to Scottish distillers William Grant & Sons for €300m.

The hospital, which was designed by Francis Stone using an early corridor layout, opened as the Norfolk County Asylum in May 1814. Wings to the ward blocks, designed by John Brown, were added in 1849 and a large auxiliary building for chronic patients, designed by Robinson Cornish and Gaymer, was completed in 1881. The hospital was requisitioned for military use as the Norfolk War Hospital during the First World War and was then renamed the Norfolk County Mental Hospital in 1919. The hospital joined the National Health Service as St Andrew's Hospital in 1948.

Constellation Brands moved its headquarters to a building on in Victor, New York in 2009 Constellation Brands has expanded by acquiring other drinks companies. In 1987, the company purchased the Manischewitz winery in Canandaigua, New York, and continues to license the Manischewitz name from R.A.B. Foods. In 1998 it acquired Matthew Clark plc in the United Kingdom, and after selling off its cider business, the Gaymer Cider Company, sold half of the business to Punch Taverns. During the 2000s, there were multiple acquisitions, with some divestments later in the decade.

The fire virtually gutted the building leaving the tower and spire in an insecure condition, and the walls only standing, the glass in the windows were totally destroyed, and the stone in the walls was damaged. It was restored by the architect W. D. Caroe and the contractor Cornish and Gaymer of North Walsham, and reopened on 14 April 1916. The physician Erasmus Darwin is buried here. One of the key thinkers of the Midlands Enlightenment, he was also a natural philosopher, physiologist, slave-trade abolitionist, inventor and poet.

MidBoss was the governing body that ran the first three years of GaymerX, a LGBTQ-oriented gaming and geek culture, or gaymer, convention, with panels primarily focused on LGBTQ issues and debates in the gaming industry, founded by Matt Conn, before they became a 501c3 non-profit in late 2015. It was founded in February 2012 and launched its Kickstarter on August 2, 2012 with a goal of $25,000. It hit its goal within 5 days and ended up raising just over $91,000. The first convention happened on August 3 and 4, 2013 in San Francisco, California.

Showerings became a public company in 1959, and acquired William Gaymer, Vine Products, Whiteways, Britvic, and John Harvey & Sons. Showerings was itself acquired by Allied Breweries in 1968 for £108 million, and Showering was appointed as a director of Allied Breweries after the merger. His nephew Sir Keith Showering was vice-chairman from 1969 and then chairman and chief executive from 1975 to 1982, during which time Allied Breweries acquired Teacher's whisky and became Allied Lyons after the acquisition of the Lyons food and catering business in 1979. Francis Showering became vice-chairman of Allied Breweries in 1982, after his nephew's sudden death.

Gaymer and gay gamer are umbrella terms used to refer to the group of people who are identified as gay and have an active interest in video games or tabletop games, also known as gamers. Lesbian, bisexual, and transgender gamers are often categorized under this term. This demographic has been the subject of two large surveys that attracted press coverage: by Jason Rockwood in 2006, who noted the level of prejudice that gaymers endure, and by Paul Nowak in 2009 focusing on what gaymers expect of video games. A gaming convention oriented to LGBT gaming and geek culture, GaymerX, first took place on August 3 and 4, 2013, in San Francisco.

Opened in August 1916 close to the former Royal Naval Air Station Narborough, later RAF Narborough, the Marham base was originally a military night landing ground on an site within the boundary of the present day RAF Marham. In 1916, the aerodrome was handed over to the Royal Flying Corps (RFC). Throughout the First World War, Marham's role was focused on defending Norfolk from Zeppelin raids. No. 51 Squadron became the first RFC unit to be stationed at Marham upon their move in September 1916, flying home defence missions. On the night of 27/28 November 1916, Lt. Gaymer of No. 51 Squadron took off from Marham to intercept Zeppelin L21 however he crashed his Royal Aircraft Factory F.E.2b and was killed after making no contact, L21 was later shot down near Lowestoft by Royal Naval Air Service crews. Outside of home defence, Marham also acted as a training base for night time flying, with this provided by No. 51 Squadron.
