A gasoline pump is a machine at a filling station that is used to pump gasoline (petrol), diesel, or other types of liquid fuel into vehicles. Gasoline pumps are also known as bowsers or petrol bowsers (in Australia), petrol pumps (in Commonwealth countries), or gas pumps (in North America).

Reiff's Gas Station Museum is a museum of American car memorabilia in Woodland, California. It was founded in 2000. The museum collection includes antique gas pumps, an antique gas station, a 1956 Chevrolet tow truck, a diner, a general store, a movie theater, a car crash, an airplane crash, vintage gas station signs and logos . The museum started in the residence of Mark Reiff.

Wolters Filling Station is a historic building located in the West End of Davenport, Iowa, United States. Alfred Wolters built this building to house his filling station in 1930. with His son, Dick Wolters, took over the business and operated it as a Standard franchise. The gas pumps were eventually removed and it has been used for other commercial enterprises, including a hair salon.

For instance, the gas station that explodes was erected by the props department outside Lancaster and fitted with gas pumps from a station that had recently closed. The store was then loaded with merchandise and then rigged for detonation. After the set was destroyed and filming ceased, the remnants were quickly cleared away. According to set decorator Duke Tomasick: "It was if the whole thing never even existed".

Most states do not mandate certain standard gasoline grade octane ratings. In the United States and Canada, octane ratings are in AKI, commonly shown as "(R+M)/2". All states require gas pumps to be labeled with the correct octane level and nearly all states do regular testing to make sure gas stations are in compliance. A minimum 82 octane fuel is recommended for most vehicles produced since 1984.

In 1973, Acton received a plaque from Imperial Oil, rewarding him for fifty years of service.

The Maintenance Historic District includes four CCC-built structures. The storage building is a wood-frame structure with a gable roof, similar to military storage buildings built in the 1930s and 1940s. Over the years Diebold has developed a number of products involved with automated dispensation, for example automated teller machines, movie vending machines, airline ticket vending machines, and credit-card activated gas pumps. Marge's Diner offers several pub favorites, as well as appetizers, ranging from chislic and onion rings to chicken sandwiches and pizza.

Dutra then grabs a nozzle from one of the gas pumps and lights it up to be used as a flame thrower. Loren grabs Dutra, and Loren and Dutra struggle over the nozzle. Dutra dies when Loren forces the nozzle to Dutra's face, setting Dutra on fire. Charlie survives his injuries, and the park is reopened with a substantial spike in business due to the notoriety of the crimes that happened there.

In 1925 the first highway was completed with ferry landings to complete the gap between the Lower Matcombe keys and Key West. With the addition of the highway running through Grassy Key Ed Neff's Bonefish Lunchroom was built in 1935 complete with gas pumps to accommodate tourists that could now drive to Key West instead of taking a ferry. This highway was nicknamed the Overseas Highway. 1935 was the first year recorded with a disastrous hurricane.

The Museum includes the oldest Brands of gas and oil begun in Utah in 1908 known as the Utah Oil Refining Company and later revised to UTOCO. The museum also includes antique gas pumps, airplanes, antique cars, and fuel delivery vehicles, as well as a Steam-powered and other powered antique tractor collection.

The name was changed to Baldwin in honor of Dr. Abel Seymour Baldwin, the president of the Florida, Atlantic and Gulf Central Railroad, a railroad that ran from Lake City to Jacksonville. Further development in Baldwin led to the establishment of a telegraphic line running from Jacksonville to Baldwin. A country store with gas pumps in 1926. On August 10, 1864 during the Civil War a skirmish occurred between a Confederate cavalry and the 102nd Regiment United States Colored Troops.

The Equipment Shed/Carpenter Shop () is a stone and frame building in a saltbox shape with projecting bracketed eaves that anticipate the Mission 66 style structures on the 1950s and 1960s. The Equipment and Supply Building (), measuring by is a masonry and frame building, with a large frame extension that burned in 1965.

From its early years as a stop on the stage route across the mountains, the Scotts Valley area has provided services to travelers. With the growing popularity of the automobile in the early 20th century, the area became commercialized and tourism developed as a local industry. In the early 1920s, Edward Evers established Camp Evers at the junction of the State Highway and Mt. Hermon Road. Camp Evers consisted of a small store, gas pumps, dance hall and tents, becoming a resort and rest stop for travelers.

Baby Herman's diaper parachutes him safely to a floor while Roger ends up getting crushed by an elevator while trying to catch Herman. Eventually they end up in a room with piles of gas pumps which are ignited and send them the pair launching miles into the air. Evins incorporated Cracker Barrel in February 1970, and soon opened more locations. In the early 1970s, the firm leased land on gasoline station sites near interstate highways to build restaurants. These early locations all featured gas pumps on-site; during gasoline shortages in the mid to late 1970s, the firm began to build restaurants without pumps. Into the early 1980s, the company reduced the number of gas stations on-site, eventually phasing them out altogether as the company focused on its restaurant and gift sales revenues.

The original concept was established by Lonnie and Barbara Allsup in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1956, as Lonnie’s Drive-In Grocery. Lonnie, a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War, expanded into a small chain and sold this to 7-11 in 1963. With the earnings of that sale, the Allsup family relocated to Clovis, New Mexico, and began the Allsup's convenience store chain. Allsup's is known for being the first company to introduce self- serve gas pumps.

Between 2011 and 2015, all six of the service plazas (along with the four located further north along the Wilbur Cross Parkway) were completely renovated. The renovations preserved the original brick and stone facade of the buildings, but completely redesigned and modernized the interiors. The plazas now include more modern gas pumps, Alltown convenience stores, and a Dunkin' Donuts shop at each location; three of the Merritt's six plazas also include a Subway shop. Prior to the renovations, no fast-food service had previously been available at the plazas.

Another location opened in Storrs, near the main campus of UConn, on June 6, 2014. In 2002, Price Chopper exited the convenience store business by leasing out its remaining convenience locations to Petroleum Marketing, a Getty operator. Price Chopper had attempted to enter the convenience store business during the 1980s by opening smaller stores, mostly with gas pumps but sometimes without to utilize older smaller storefronts where a larger store was not possible. They operated under the "Mini Chopper" trade name, still using the logo of an axe cutting into a coin.

By the very late 1930s, Harland Sanders' Corbin, Kentucky, gas station was so well known for its fried chicken, that Sanders decided to remove the gas pumps and build a restaurant and motel in its place. While perfecting his secret recipe with 11 herbs and spices, Sanders found that pan frying chicken was too slow, requiring 30 minutes per order. Deep frying the chicken required half the time, but produced dry, unevenly done chicken. In 1939 he found that using a pressure fryer produced tasty, moist chicken in eight or nine minutes.

New Canton never became a "boom town" but it did have considerable commerce and enterprise in the 19th and early 20th centuries. There was a tan yard, a grist mill, a tobacco warehouse, a saw mill, several bars, a hotel, several general stores and a post office. In the early 20th century, there were gas pumps, a Ford automobile dealership and an orchard as well. As motorcars became popular early in the 20th century, they too began using the bridge and the road down to the river became a highway for the ever-increasing motor vehicle traffic.

The resort has paved tree-lined roads and paved biking and golf cart trails. As mentioned, ESSO petrol was a main sponsor and its distinctive oval sign appears on many Morestone models. ESSO-themed packaging was a main theme of the mid-1950s models and the boxes portrayed the name in 'portrait' style with box standing on end. Morestone's ESSO packaging is reminiscent of other companies that attempted to claim a market niche with unique box styles. Whereas Matchbox had 'Match'-boxes, Aurora had 'Cigar'-boxes, Charbens had little suitcases and Benbros had boxes that looked like TV sets, Morestone's ESSO line packaged vehicles in little boxes that looked like gas pumps (Rixon 2005, p. 39).

This patent records the essential ideas that are the basis of his commercial engine, the key one being the use of a modified slide valve to allow a flame to ignite the mixture rather than a spark. This same principle was patented by William Barnett in 1838, but Barnett used a rotating cock rather than a slide-valve mechanism. The other novel feature is the use of small quantities of water injected into the cylinder to control temperature. The engine illustrated in the patent is a vertical single cylinder double acting engine which utilises two rubber gas pumps driven by the crankshaft.

Carl F. Tychsen's Stateline Market and Carl's Place club are shown to the right of the Stateline Country Club around 1935. The Stateline Country Club, just inside the state border in what is now Stateline, Nevada, started as a small cafe. Inside, visitors enjoying the early 1930s at Lake Tahoe could find a soda fountain bar and a few tables to enjoy a meal. There was a small room in the rear where a poker game started-up most nights, and next door there was provision for vacationers at Carl F. Tychsen's Stateline Market with a pair of gas pumps nearby.

The Mount Dora Museum of Speed was located in Mount Dora, Florida in Lake County, Florida. Exhibits included American muscle cars, automobile memorabilia and an Americana collection. Opened in 2001, the 7,000-square-foot showroom was both a dealer showroom for classic cars and a museum with changing exhibits. In addition to rare cars, displays included quarter midget race cars, pedal cars, a 1940s Texaco gas station, vintage road signs, juke boxes, Coca-Cola machines, gas pumps, neon signs, electric guitars autographed by rock musicians including Aerosmith, Jon Bon Jovi and Stevie Ray Vaughan, autographed television memorabilia and more.

At the West End site, the remaining gasholder, the three brick gasholder tanks, the compressors, the compressor room/house, the receiver vessel and the governor clearly demonstrate these characteristics of the gasworks. The gasholder brick tanks illustrate major industrial use of brickwork from the 1880s up to the 1930s; and the compressors are exemplary of the change from steam powered to electric motor powered gas pumps. The place is important because of its aesthetic significance. Large round structures are unusual and have aesthetic value, particularly in areas of predominantly angular commercial and industrial construction such as West End.

The steel truss design also has greater roof height (nearly ) than the old buildings, which increases visibility for the oases. The architects for the project were Cordogan Clark & Associates. The gas stations were rebuilt with canopies to cover the gas pumps. The oases were redeveloped at no cost to the ISTHA or the Illinois taxpayers. The $95 million investment was provided by Wilton Partners of Los Angeles, California and ExxonMobil in exchange for a 25-year lease. Under the lease, Wilton would pay ISTHA a percentage of vendor sales with a minimum of $750,000 per year.

McCord is a hamlet in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. McCord had a population of 40 in the Canada 2006 Census.Canada 2006 Census: Designated places in Saskatchewan It is located slightly south of Highway 18, between Ferland and Glentworth, in the south-central portion of the province. McCord has a multi purpose town hall, a Lucky Dollar grocery store, Dee's Garden Shed, local contractor, a Co-Op that has a small farming and hardware section, gas pumps, town museum featuring historical and CPR Railway artifacts, small campground area, two churches, and an arena that previously housed hockey, skating, rodeos and curling.

Interstate 80 Billboard, Little America, Wyoming, May 2002 The first Little America, called Little America Wyoming, is west of Green River, and west of Rock Springs on Interstate 80. Built in 1952 along the old alignment of U.S. Route 30 which was also the Lincoln Highway, the first road across America, the property began with two fuel pumps, a 24-seat café, and 12 guest rooms. Today the location has 140 rooms and expanded gas pumps for both truck drivers and travelers. For a number of years this location had the world's largest filling station based on the number of pumps in operation – 55 in all.

Gulf later built a network of pipelines and refineries in the eastern and southern United States, requiring heavy capital investment. This was the largest Roy Rogers and Bob's Big Boy location at the time and restaurant namesake Roy Rogers and Lieutenant Governor Michael Castle were in attendance for the opening. In September 2009, the Delaware Welcome Center was closed for a reconstruction project that would construct a new service plaza building, new gas pumps, new truck parking, and an improved visitor center. The renovated service plaza opened in June 2010 at a cost of $35 million. On September 17, 2018, the service plaza was renamed the Biden Welcome Center in honor of the Biden family, a prominent Delaware political family that includes longtime U.S. Senator and 47th Vice President Joe Biden.

The above-ground station is inside in the main building, between the north and south domestic terminals on the west end. The Airport station is currently the southernmost station in the MARTA system, though expansion via metro or commuter rail further south into Clayton County have been discussed. The Hartsfield–Jackson Rental Car Center, which opened December 8, 2009, houses all ten airport rental agencies with capacity for additional companies. The complex features 9,900 parking spaces split between two four-story parking decks that together cover , a customer service center, and a maintenance center featuring 140 gas pumps and 30 wash bays equipped with a water recovery system.

The fictional Gulf Oil gas station/barbecue joint seen in the 1974 cult classic horror movie, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, is located on the highway south of Bastrop at 1073 SH 304, Bastrop, TX 78602. In the movie, the establishment remains nameless but is donned with a "Coca-Cola/We Slaughter Barbecue" sign. Today, the dilapidated grocery store (and former gas station ‒ its two gas pumps as seen in the movie having since been removed) sits unused and has been closed down for several years. Before its closure, it was known as Bilbo's Texas Landmark and before that as Ryan's Hills Prairie Grocery.

Fuel dispensers are also known as bowsers (in some parts of Australia), petrol pumps (in most Commonwealth countries) or gas pumps (in North America). Besides fuel dispensers, one other significant device which is also found in filling stations and can refuel certain (compressed-air) vehicles is an air compressor, although generally these are just used to inflate car tires (tyres). Also, many filling stations incorporate a convenience store, which like most other buildings generally have electricity sockets; hence, in some cases, plug-in electric vehicles can be recharged. The convenience stores found in filling stations typically sell candy, soft drinks, snacks and, in some cases, a small selection of grocery items, such as milk.

The episode "Scenes from the Class Struggle in Springfield" also shows the pumps where Apu refuses to go out and serve a customer on the forecourt.

The vast majority of gas pumps with pay-at-the-pump capabilities will place a temporary hold on a certain amount of money, generally $75-$150, in a customer's account following the use of a debit or credit card to make a purchase. The series focuses on Rick's Restorations, a company owned and operated by Las Vegas area metal artist and antique restoration expert Rick Dale, who has been restoring various vintage items for almost 30 years. Dale and his company first appeared on the History reality television series Pawn Stars, in that show's first-season episode "Time Machines," and in nine subsequent episodes in which he restored numerous decades-old items for the Harrisons (owners of the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop where Pawn Stars takes place), including vending machines, gas pumps, barber chairs, motorcycles, and jukeboxes.
