Outbuildings include an early timber-framed and clad billiard room with a gable-ended roof; a contemporary steel portal-frame, brick-clad garage with gable roof and a brick-walled garden shed with a flat jettied rafter roof structure. The extensive garden contains stands of massive hoop pines, figs, poincianas, jacarandas and palms set around a circular driveway, providing an impressive setting for the large house.

Reverend Mother St Levine, accompanied by Sisters St Sabine and St Madeleine, had come on a mission to establish a school in Kuala Lumpur. The first convent school was located in Nonya Ah Yok's garden shed, and the Sisters lived on the first floor of her country house by the River Gombak on Ampang Road. It was created as a hoax by journalist Oobah Butler for Vice magazine and became the top-rated restaurant in London on TripAdvisor before the listing was taken down. The restaurant was open for one night in November 2017, serving ten guests including a couple from California. The faux menu theme was "moods", and Butler photographed plates of food created using household products including shaving foam and dishwasher tablets.

Bilofsky eventually adopted the name "The Software Toolworks", using it publicly for the first time with an advertisement submitted to the magazine Byte in June 1980. John E. Aldred Estate, also known as St. Josaphat's Monastery, is a historic estate located at Lattingtown in Nassau County, New York. It was designed in 1916 by architect Bertram Goodhue, with landscaping by Olmsted Brothers, for public utility executive John Edward Aldred. The estate consists of the main residence, known as Ormston; the superintendent's quarters; hen house; -story, hip-roofed stable; greenhouse and conservatory; garage; utility shed; garden shed; gazebo; and two gatehouses. The main house is a Tudor Revival–style dwelling built of random-coursed, quarry-faced limestone and roofed in heavy slate.

Adding insult to injury, Rodney and Mickey have paid so wildly over the odds for the engines that Del ends up making a decent profit on the engines, with which he was able to buy the goblets they were after. A successor "evil" puppet to Podge, Martin Duck is a mysterious duck who began "hacking" into transmissions of the mock-news epic, Dustin's Daily News, from a makeshift studio in a garden shed in January 2006. He seems to have some sort of grudge against Dustin, who declared him a "wanted duck" and began distributing wanted posters to viewers who wrote, texted or e-mailed in to DDN.

(previously it had broadcast under various names including Spectrum FM from Ballybrack) Arguably one of the most successful Pirate stations of the 1990s, Phantom played mainly indie music which had a huge underground following in Dublin. This market which was completely ignored by the mainstream radio stations at the time which accounts for the success Phantom enjoyed. The unlicensed Phantom FM came to an end in the May 2003 crackdown on Dublin pirate radio stations.

Davidson Whaling Station is located on the southern shore of Twofold Bay, 35 km by road south of Eden on Kiah Inlet at the mouth of the Towamba River. The buildings still existing on the site comprise the cottage "Loch Garra", the detached kitchen/dining room which may have pre-dated the cottage, a garden shed and a shower shed built by the Boyds. The buildings are of timber construction with traditional weatherboards or timber slab external cladding and corrugated iron roofing. Remnants of the Davidson's gardens include the collapsed and overgrown fences of the orchard to the east of the cottage garden and the lawn outside the garden fence.

He returned to astronomy in his 30s when he took up experimenting with gelatin plate photography of the moon and planets with a 5.5 inch refracting telescope. Common's 18-inch reflector in his garden shed in the 1870s at his house in Ealing In 1876 Common became a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society.

On 1 July 1933 the Metropolitan Railway, along with London's other underground railways aside from the small Waterloo & City Railway, was taken into public ownership as part of the newly formed London Passenger Transport Board (LPTB). Thus, despite it being over and over two hours travel from the City of London, Wood Siding became a London Underground station. As a cost-cutting measure Wood Siding became unstaffed and the porter's hut was sold as a garden shed; from then on, the train crew would work the crossing gate. It was now officially a part of the London Underground network, but Wood Siding—in common with all Metropolitan line stations north of Aylesbury—was never shown on the tube map.

The recordings were first made in 2006 in Partridge's backyard home studio in Swindon, England, which Hitchcock jokingly described in one interview as "two old psychedelic pensioners rocking away in a shed in a back garden," but also noted that Partridge's well-known production and technical skills made his back-garden shed "the equivalent of the entire firepower of Abbey Road's Studio One." Documentary: Dad's Army: Missing Presumed Wiped, BBC, 2001 In 1998, David Croft made an appeal on BBC Two asking people if they held an off- air video copy of the 5 remaining episodes. "Operation Kilt" and "The Battle of Godfrey's Cottage" were also believed lost until they were returned to the BBC as 16 mm film recordings in 2001. It has since been established that the two episodes were film recorded to show to executives at Columbia Pictures during discussions on the structure of the Dad's Army feature film. The film copies were then junked and retrieved from a skip by an opportunistic collector and stored in a garden shed for 30 years until returned to the BBC.

The band continue to receive critical praise, with Music Mart magazine describing a CD reissue of Garden Shed "as good as prog could get in the '70s." Webb and Henderson reactivated the band in 2006 for a brief tour, including an appearance at the Baja Prog Fest in Mexicali. In March of 2019, three of the original members, Webb, Henderson and Holland, along with Jordan Brown, Russ Wilson, Andy Thompson and several members from prog band The Gift (Mike Morton, Dave Lloyd & Gabrielle Baldocci), performed a one-off reunion gig at Fusion Festival 2 in Stourport.

The seven Hook children, whose ages range from five to fourteen, live in a dilapidated Victorian house in suburban London. The older children help to care for their invalid single mother, whose chronic illness has led to her to convert to fundamentalist religion and refuse all medical help. When their mother dies suddenly, the children realise that they may be split up and sent to orphanages, so they decide to conceal their mother's death and carry on with their daily routine as if she were still alive. They secretly bury their mother in the back yard at night, and convert the garden shed into a shrine to her, where they periodically hold seances to communicate with her spirit.

In mid- February 2008, Joseph announced on his Myspace page that he had opted to leave Atlantic Records, citing differences in opinion for the release of his second studio album, as the main motivation behind the decision. Joseph's criticism of the attitude fostered by major record labels was vehement, stating that he had been perceived as 'an asset, basically like a car tyre, and if they wanted to, they could melt me down and turn me into condoms!'. Joseph retreated to his garden shed with an assortment of musical instruments to start the recording of his second album, Both Sides of The Coin. Each instrument played in the recordings – including guitars, drums, banjo, accordion, and harmonica – was played by Joseph.

The podcast began in 2015 and is presented by television writer and director Jamie Morton, digital executive James Cooper, and TV and radio presenter Alice Levine. The three originally met at the University of Leeds, began working in broadcasting, and had worked together on projects before the My Dad Wrote a Porno podcasts. The podcast originated at a family gathering for Morton's sister's birthday, where Morton's father took him into his study and handed him some chapters of a novel he had been writing under the pen name Rocky Flintstone in his garden shed (Morton claims his mother won't let his father write it in the house). Morton realised with shock that he was reading the first chapter of his father's erotic novel, Belinda Blinked.

Sheds used on farms or in industry can be large structures. The main types of shed construction are metal sheathing over a metal frame, plastic sheathing and frame, all-wood construction (the roof may be asphalt shingled or sheathed in tin), and vinyl-sided sheds built over a wooden frame.

Roberts and Webb had been writing and recording music together since the age of 14, having been influenced by a variety of their father's record collections which included many bands from mo-town and progressive rock. The desire of self production started immediately with Robert's garden shed being transformed into a control room but this could only contain a five piece for so long, and eventually they built their own studio in the town centre, which was situated above a curry house and below a tattoo parlour. Having previously been called Fracture (heavy rock), Foxhead and Passengers, the band decided to settle with a synth rock sound and in early 2008 caught the attention of Simon Williams (who had found and released Coldplay and Keane's first material). With Williams the name Capital was decided.

In 1968 Solomon's volunteer work with the Experiment in International Living brought her to Japan where she stayed with a family near Tokyo. There, at age 38, Solomon began to use an Instamatic camera to communicate her feelings and thoughts. This was the starting point for her photography practice, which also includes prose related to her life experiences. Upon her return to the United States, Solomon photographed regularly. She purchased a Nikkormat in 1969 and in the garden shed she processed 35 mm black and white film and printed her first pictures. In 1971, she began intermittent studies with Lisette Model during visits to New York City. By 1974 she was using a medium format camera. Dolls, children, and manikins were some of her first subjects, along with portraits and rituals.

He was born in Ilford to Walter Morgan, a solicitor's clerk at the Royal Courts of Justice and his wife Anne. He was barred from attending primary school for a year after a ringworm infection on his head; the treatment, irradiation, caused hair to fall out, and his parents refused to sign the waiver absolving the health authority from responsibility should the hair not grow back. Due to this the family moved house to Little Ilford, where after leaving the local primary school he attended Raine's Foundation School, where he became interested in mechanical engineering. His growing interest in chemistry led him to start his own laboratory in a garden shed using chemicals bought from a supplier in London, with his main area of focus being the creation of "dyes and explosive compounds".

YS reviewers were often 'interviewed' in a column at first called Joystick Jury (the same as the reviews section in Your Spectrum), then Joystick Jugglers, and finally (when there were fewer games to review and they wanted to introduce the team as a whole, including design staff) The Shed Crew, a reference to the recurring joke that after the move to Future Publishing, their office was now a garden shed. The Jugglers were depicted with caricatures mostly drawn by Nick Davies, although some writers (such as Jon Pillar/Jonathan Nash) drew their own and art editor Andy Ounsted drew most of the latter reviewers. The Juggler caricatures took on something of a life of their own, and in 1990, a game, YS Capers, was given away with the magazine in which you had to shoot the YS crew, depicted in their cartoon forms.

Contemporaries of acts such as Young Marble Giants and The Raincoats, the group applied the DIY ethic of the time to record a self- produced and self-released cassette called A Day by the Sea. This features otherwise-unavailable songs such as "Getting Away from It All", "Lorna", "Hour of Need" and "Harbours". They went on to record an album called Beach Party which was recorded in a garden shed by Pat Bermingham and released on In-Phaze then re-released by Dan Treacy of Television Personalities for his label Whaam! Embedded with the US Army's 3rd Infantry Division in Kuwait at the beginning of March, he arrived in Baghdad a day after the city's fall, and reported from there until the beginning of June. He had a global scoop with his report of the discovery of $320 million in cash in a West Baghdad garden shed, and a second one with his report that some of this money was subsequently stolen by G.I.'s. While embedded with the army, Foreman wrote an article for the Weekly StandardForeman, Jonathan (2002)"Bad Reporting in Baghdad" Weekly Standard 8(34): in which he wrote that most Western press coverage of the conditions in Baghdad portrayed conditions as much worse than they really were. On the strength of his Iraq coverage, the Post subsequently sent him to cover the California recall election of October 2003.

They even discussed the idea of some sort of confederation with West Germany. (It never occurred to any of them that full reunification between East and West Germany might become a possibility.) Although what they were discussing amounted to a radical political programme, there was no ambition at this point to go so far as to found a Social Democratic Party in what remained, as far as those present understood, a one-party state. There was a remarkable level of agreement on a future trajectory for East Germany, but they aspired only to create a group similar to those that had been beginning to form under the auspices of various parish churches, concerning themselves with environmental issues and political freedoms. With this in mind, the participants in the garden shed meeting now held several further meetings.

At the age of sixteen, Woodhams achieved a place at the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society's Garden at Wisley from where he graduated with honours. He went on to become buyer consultant at the London florists, Moyses Stevens, and in 1986 won a youth enterprise grant of £40 a week with which he set up his own business in his garden shed at the age of 22. In 1992 he opened his first shop in Ledbury Road, London W1, and quickly established an enviable portfolio of clients including Max Mara, Joseph, Michel Roux, and the Hempel. He has also been asked to style nine Royal Opera House Galas, the re-opening of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, the décor for the Centrepoint Ball at the Natural History Museum, and the styling of the inaugural dinner at the Tate Modern, Bankside.

The river leaves the wood and enters Lambourn under a bridge crossed by the Goose Green Road, here it flows more quickly as the channel narrows to four to six feet across and six to eight inches deep. It is constricted by the houses built on the riverbank, which were partially flooded in July 2007 as numerous weeds clogged the river under the many small bridges (and even one garden shed) built over it. It passes by The Lamb and the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and runs between the houses on the south side of the Newbury Road and the playing fields to the north of Bockhampton Road. There is a ford next to the Bockhampton Road bridge which is used by horses (and accidentally by a car in March 2009, which had to be pulled out) and the river leaves the town through Bockhampton Manor Farm.

Claims by the consortium, backed by Bob Geldof, Hot Press owner Niall Stokes and businessman Dermot Hanrahan, that Phantom's application benefited from their years of illegal broadcasting and a claimed infringement with its temporary licences were rejected. Phantom has had a mixture of very experienced pirate broadcasters and some new talent during its different phases from unlicensed broadcasting right up to its current permanent licensed state. The Chief Executive Ger Roe goes back to Radio Dublin Channel 2, circa 1982. General Manager Simon Maher had built up experience in a few pirates, starting in 1990 with Radio Dublin, and was the key figure in setting up Coast FM from his garden shed in Ballybrack. Steve Conway (some-time Phantom presenter and writer), who goes back to '80s pirates, has the distinction of having been involved in the most famous off- shore pirate Radio Caroline during the late '80s and the '90s.

After leaving the RAF in 1968, Walker spent a short period working in factories in Cambridgeshire before starting his own business, Mick Walker Motorcycles, dealing in Ducati spares and repairs – initially from a garden shed. After moving to shop premises, and acquiring some of the stock diverted from the US market by the Berliner Motor Corporation, the business – which was based in Wisbech, Cambridge – expanded steadily and Walker became the official UK importer for Ducati spares in the mid-1970s. With greatly enlarged premises, Mick Walker Motorcycles moved on to retailing models manufactured by Ducati, Moto Guzzi, Harley-Davidson, Aermacchi, Cagiva, Benelli, Garelli, Testi, MV Agusta, Jawa and Derbi, as well as Russian motorcycles, and was the UK importer for several marques. The Mick Walker Group became a victim of the recession of the early 1980s and ceased to trade at the start of 1982.

The group operated on a limited budget with their early projects and acts as a collective that is anti-hierarchical. They have been influenced by Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, Stanley Tigerman, Situationists, Mannerism, the Arts and Crafts movement, Archigram, and Jeff Koons. They "steal copy, collage and make overt references to all kinds of high and low architecture; reusing, rescaling, recolouring; remaking their sources in the wrong materials," with their first projects being redesigns of interiors such as the Brunel Rooms nightclub in Swindon (1995) where a running track, swimming pool, garden shed and lounge were added. One of Fat's director's, Sean Griffiths, built a house in baby blueField, Marcus (23 March 2002) "House of Fun" The Independent Quote: "With its cartoon-like facade and quirky interior, this building is a manifesto for Britain's most irreverent young architectural practice, FAT." with cutout wall shapes and artful references to Edwin Lutyens, Adolf Loos, and Robert Venturi.

Between 1984 and 1991, Gilbert was commissioned to create music for a variety of film and modern dance projects, by, among others, Michael Clark, Aletta Collins, and Ashley Page, with excerpts appearing on his albums This Way (1984), The Shivering Man (1987) (both combined on CD as This Way to the Shivering Man), Insiding (1991) and Music for Fruit (1991). Wire re-entered the public arena on 7 June 1985 with a performance at the Museum of Modern Art, Oxford, and Gilbert contributed sounds, lyrics, and occasional vocals to the various albums, EPs, and singles released by the band between November 1986 and February 1993. In 1989, Gilbert co-produced the A.C. Marias album One of Our Girls (Has Gone Missing), sharing author credits with Angela Conway for 10 original songs (the album also contains a cover version of Canned Heat's "Time Was", first released in 1988 as a single featuring Conway, Gilbert, Barry Adamson and Rowland S. Howard). Since the 1990s, Gilbert has appeared at London techno clubs under the name DJ Beekeeper, often deejaying inside a garden shed above the dancefloor.

Hurme is a co-founding partner of 5468796 Architecture located in Winnipeg, Canada. She established the firm in 2007 with University of Manitoba colleague Sasa Radulovic, after the two worked together at Cohlmeyer Architecture. Colin Neufeld, a former university colleague of Hurme and Radulovic, later joined 5468796 Architecture as a partner. According to Canadian Architect Magazine, “As a conceptual and design innovator, Hurme’s work includes a full range of projects and public initiatives including the Crossroads Garden Shed in Calgary, Winnipeg’s 62M Housing and Old Market Square Stage, The Forks Railside Masterplan, Table for 12 and 1200 dinners, Migrating Landscapes (Canada’s official entry to the 13th annual Venice Biennale), and Chair Your Idea, a crowdsourced and crowdfunded idea competition celebrating urban design.” Both her architectural projects and her urban and design advocacy initiatives have been recognized through awards and publications internationally and have been widely published. Under her leadership 5468786 was recognized by the Rice [university] Design Alliance ‘...to be one of the most talented young design firms worldwide’.

The Monday night current affairs television series Claire Byrne Live on 9 March 2020 was filmed with a reduced studio audience as an effort at social distancing; seven days later, on 16 March 2020, there was no studio audience at all and presenter Claire Byrne conducted interviews with guests—such as Minister for Health Simon Harris—live from her garden shed, as she had been advised to self-isolate. On 23 March, ahead of her second week broadcasting to the nation from her shed, Byrne confirmed she had tested positive for COVID-19; the result had come as a shock to her as she had not had a temperature and assumed she had caught the common cold—though, as the week went on, her symptoms worsened, she had some difficulty breathing and experienced tiredness. Byrne's diagnosis had been hinted at two days earlier when a then unnamed RTÉ staff member was reported to be COVID-19 positive. On 6 April, Byrne returned to filming Claire Byrne Live in the RTÉ 1 studio.

As a radio producer, Richard co-created and presented two series of The Ad Break with Fi Glover for BBC Radio 5 Live and won a Sony Gold Award as producer of the Virgin Radio Breakfast show for best on-air promotion. In the mid-nineties he produced a programme of short films for exhibition in a converted garden shed with a creative team made up of Richard Bracewell, Dave Grindley, Ed Smith, Charlie Fairall, Tom Binns, Al Murray, David Wolstencroft, Kavi Pujara and Pleasance Theatre owner Christopher Richardson. The programme of films received a coveted five star review in The Scotsman at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1995. The following year he converted a family caravan into a mobile version of The Smallest Cinema in the World with designers Harvey Bertram Brown, Carolyn Corben, and Paul Bowring, driving it (and a crew of ten people) to The Cannes Film Festival, where he was featured on Barry Norman’s Film 96 as a “remarkable example of British Ingenuity.” Returning to the UK, he developed over two hundred hours of programming for new digital youth channel Rapture TV, many of which were sold to BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
