In 2012, Topps announced it would reboot the Garbage Pail Kids franchise with new character and content themes more reminiscent of the original 1980s series in a set called Brand-New Series 1 (BNS1). The set was released on October 24, 2012. BNS1 features 55 new GPK characters, a reality TV subset, motion cards, mix 'n' match stickers, parallels, artist sketch cards and code cards redeemable for a chance to be painted as a GPK in the next BNS. BNS2 was released in March and features 55 new characters, 18 reimagined characters, lenticular cards, glow in the dark cards and folded cards.

Afterwards he went to graduate school at Brandeis University under Abraham Maslow and received an MA degree in psychology in 1961. After working as an analytical chemist for the U.S. Bureau of Mines for a year, he got a junior college teaching credential, and taught psychology and social science at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill CA from 1962 to 1970. He was introduced to Gestalt therapy in 1967 by Fritz Perls, and edited his books, Gestalt Therapy Verbatim and In and Out the Garbage Pail. He wrote Awareness, a book of exercises based on Gestalt Therapy in 1971.

Perls' approach to therapy was included in criticism by Jeffrey Masson, a psychoanalyst who feuded with journalists and with the psychoanalytic community generally over his controversial theories disputing the effectiveness of psychotherapy. Masson said that Perls was sexist, as well as physically and emotionally abusive towards women in his private life. Masson quoted Perls from his autobiography, In and Out the Garbage Pail, where Perls wrote: > Once I was called to a group to calm down a girl who attacked everyone in > the group physically. The group members tried to hold her and to calm her > down.

After the movie, Dille served as a story editor for the third season of The Transformers (1986-1987) and wrote the season's five-part opening story, "Five Faces of Darkness." Dille returned to G.I. Joe after the series was taken over by DIC Entertainment, co-writing the episode "Injustice and the Cobra Way" for the show's first DIC season (1990-1991). Dille worked briefly at CBS on the in- house production of Garbage Pail Kids, before working with Amblin Entertainment on several projects, including An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, Tiny Toons (as a movie), and We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story.

In 1992 Newgarden was designated as one of Entertainment Weekly's annual "Faces to Watch". Newgarden attended New York's School of Visual Arts in the late 1970s/early 1980s, where his classmates included fellow cartoonists/illustrators Drew Friedman and Kaz. He came to the attention of one of his teachers, Art Spiegelman, who published him in RAW and brought him, in 1983, as a creative consultant for the Topps Company. Newgarden was part of the team that created the Garbage Pail Kids, and worked on new editions of Wacky Packages as well as scores of other satiric and novelty products.

Some of the films he reviewed (such as Exorcist II: The Heretic, The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, and Batman & Robin) are generally considered as the worst films ever made. Walker briefly retired the series on August 14, 2012, to work on other projects, even writing the character out of existence in the Channel Awesome film To Boldly Flee. On January 22, 2013, Walker announced the show's return in a narrative video called "The Review Must Go On". The show subsequently returned with a more narrative and sketch-driven sixth season, beginning on February 5, 2013, with a review of The Odd Life of Timothy Green.

Garbage Pail Kids ANS4 Review Trader Crack's These were limited to one randomly inserted card per hobby-exclusive box (available only from specialty retailers) and featured original artwork by series regulars John Pound, Tom Bunk and Jay Lynch, as well as guest artists Strephon Taylor, John Czop, Don Perlin and Justin Green. Although a regular to the series with over 35 paintings, Luis Diaz was not involved in the sketch cards due to a previous financial dispute with Topps from years earlier. In 2006, ANS5 was released with 40 more new kids (each with an a/b twin), followed by ANS6 in early 2007.

Beyond gourmet items, there were also those of a more unusual, albeit still practical, nature such as the No Name raccoon-proof garbage pail, with steel handles that clamped to the sides of the container. But most No Name items continued to be everyday products, with the brand promoted as "a sensible solution to rising prices." By the end of the decade there were more than 1,800 No Name products available. By the mid-1980s, No Name had become the best selling brand in the country – a somewhat ironic development, considering the generic, non-branded nature of the product line, promoted as an economical alternative to the national brands.

In 2006, an EP called Lost, Picking Flowers in the Woods was released containing the song of the same name, as well as other songs that later appeared on Dandelion Gum. "Sun Lips" is the first track by Black Moth Super Rainbow to be accompanied by an official music video. In mid-2008, it was announced (via an update to the band's official website) that Tobacco would be releasing an album called Super Gum (Destroying Dandelion Gum), rumored to be a remix album. The cover for this album is a crop from a Garbage Pail Kids trading card, Stinker Belle, as found by Tom (aka Rokto) via tumblr.

Court voiced summer camper Dawn in the 1986 animated film Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation and Emily Elizabeth in the Clifford's Fun with... videotape series from 1988 to the early 1990s. Among her animated series voice acting roles are Malani the Ewok in the animated television program Star Wars: Ewoks, and Lydia Deetz (originally played by Winona Ryder) in the animated adaptation of the 1988 film Beetlejuice. She voiced Terri Cloth on The Garbage Pail Kids animated series of 1987–1988. In 1992, she voiced Jubilee in X-Men: The Animated Series and Nora Mouse in the animated series Timothy Goes to School.

Art Spiegelman (; born Itzhak Avraham ben Zeev Spiegelman on February 15, 1948) is an American cartoonist, editor, and comics advocate best known for his graphic novel Maus. His work as co-editor on the comics magazines Arcade and Raw has been influential, and from 1992 he spent a decade as contributing artist for The New Yorker. He is married to designer and editor Françoise Mouly and is the father of writer Nadja Spiegelman. Spiegelman began his career with the Topps bubblegum card company in the mid-1960s, which was his main financial support for two decades; there he co-created parodic series such as Wacky Packages in the 1960s and the Garbage Pail Kids in the 1980s.

He also appeared in such TV and films as John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness, Maniac Mansion, Danger Bay, The Campbells, Street Legal, My Secret Identity, Neon Rider, Forever Knight, Tek War, Adderly, Straight Line, Going to War, Road to Avonlea, Katts and Dog and Lena: My 100 Children. He also provided numerous voices for children's cartoons including Garbage Pail Kids, Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater, Beverly Hills Teens, The New Archies, WildC.A.T.S., The Care Bears, Sylvanian Families and Babar. At the 6th Annual Gemini Awards, his portrayal of Ralph in C.B.C.'s Magic Hour episode "The Prom" (1990) earned him a nomination for Best Actor in a Dramatic Program or Miniseries.

The series was the brainchild of Topps consultant and Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Art Spiegelman, who came up with the product idea after the success of his earlier creations Garbage Can-dy and Wacky Packages. The concept originally began as an unreleased Wacky Packages sticker for a 1985 series,Wacky Packages Garbage Pail Kids Pound Art but the management at Topps thought it would be a good idea for a separate spin-off series. Spiegelman and fellow cartoonist Mark Newgarden worked together as the editors and art directors of the project, Len Brown was the manager and the first run of the cards was drawn exclusively by artist John Pound.Garbage Pail Kids Index Pound Art They were first issued in 1985.

In 1986, 12-year-old Justin "Rocketshoe" Schumacher (played as a youth by Alexander Calvert) and his breakdancing group, The Funky Fresh Boyz (Darnell "Prince Def Rock" Jackson, Aki "Chilly Chill" Terasaki, and Hector "Popcorn" Jimenez) (played as youths by J.R. Messado, Hanson Ng, and Anthony Grant, respectively), are ready for the annual talent show. The somewhat shy Justin has a crush on Jennifer (played as a youth by Alexia Fast), who is giving her a Garbage Pail Kid card in exchange for her Smurfette figurine. His rival, the obnoxious rich kid Kip Unger (played as a youth by Taylor Beaumont), shows up and gives her an expensive necklace. Justin and the Funky Fresh Boyz start the show, with his parents cheering for him.

Marvin Goldhar (April 29, 1933 - March 31, 2002) was a Canadian actor, best known for his voice work in animated programs and in made-for-TV movies. Among his voice credits include Cedric Sneer on The Raccoons, Mr. Weatherbee on The New Archies and Bronto Thunder and Bonehead in Dinosaucers. He has also done voices for television and films including Star Wars: Ewoks, Star Wars: Droids, Garbage Pail Kids, AlfTales, The Legend of Zelda, The Nutcracker Prince, Babar, Highlander: The Animated Series, Maxie's World, Beverly Hills Teens, The Care Bears, Rupert, C.O.P.S., Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, ALF: The Animated Series, Sylvanian Families, Starcom, Police Academy, WildC.A.T.s, The Magic School Bus, Little Rosey, The Busy World of Richard Scarry, Dog City, A Cosmic Christmas and My Pet Monster.

Music sample: The lyrics of this song are a sarcastic parody of charity concerts such as Live Aid, especially "the popstar posing that accompanied those charitable events", according to Steve Huey of AllMusic. The song lists a range of things about which the band sarcastically claims 'we care a lot', such as the LAPD, the "food that Live Aid bought", the Garbage Pail Kids and even The Transformers. The original version, released in 1985, mentions Madonna and Mr. T. This was altered for social relevance in the 1987 re-release. When asked about the song's meaning, Chuck Mosley replied There was a seven-second-long ad-lib of "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" by New Kids on the Block on The Real Thing-era live performances, including the Live at the Brixton Academy version.

The role of the butcher in the film is also played by PES, the first time the director has made a cameo appearance in one of his own films. The film was sponsored by Nikon (and was shot on the Nikon D810 camera) and the remainder of the funding was raised through Kickstarter. PES has stated that he got the idea for the film when he saw a Hobart 410 "Streamliner" deli slicer in an exhibit of industrial design at the Museum of Modern Art and was struck by the image of slicing a boxing glove in it. On March 12, 2012, Deadline Hollywood reported that PES was set to direct a feature film based on the Garbage Pail Kids trading card series originally published by Topps in 1985.

Among Topps' most notable achievements in the area of satire and parody have been Wacky Packages, a takeoff on various household consumer products, and Garbage Pail Kids, a parody of the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls. Another popular series was the Civil War News set, also with Norman Saunders' artwork. Earlier, particularly in the early and mid-60s, Topps thrived with several successful series of parody and satire cards for a variety of occasions, usually featuring artists who also worked at Mad magazine. There were several insult-valentine card series, plus a series of insult epigram cards called Wacky Plaques, several series of well-known- product advertising parody cards, a set of cards featuring the 'mad car-driver cartoons' of artist Big Daddy Roth, and a card-sticker series of fanciful bizarre 'rejected aliens' from other planets, among other semi-subversive outrageous over-the-top concepts designed for the semi-rebellious adolescent boomer market.

In 1987, he portrayed "Sir Nigel Pennyweight" in the cult horror film Ghoulies II. In the same year, he appeared as "Greaser Greg" in The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, a theatrical adaptation of the popular trading cards series, performing the character in a costume while voice actor Jim Cummings provided the voice, and he played the Devil's diminutive minion in The Yattering and Jack episode of Tales from the Darkside. In 1988's Willow, he appeared alongside Warwick Davis, one of his Star Wars co-stars. Other prominent roles of Fondacaro's include "Hooded Dwarf" in Phantasm II, Cousin Itt in Addams Family Reunion, the villain's butler in Blood Dolls, the female vampire's "master" in the horror comedy Bordello of Blood, a shady con man in Land of the Dead, a vampire hunter in Decadent Evil, and a dramatic turn as a dwarf with an average-sized son in "A Clown's Prayer", an episode of Touched by an Angel. He also played a dwarf with an average-sized daughter in the CSI episode, "A Little Murder".

Pee-wee's Playhouse, which debuted in 1986, also became a major hit for the network's Saturday morning lineup; known for its bizarre humor, reruns of the series were abruptly dropped by CBS in 1991 – less than a year after the series ended its five-year run – following star Paul Reubens' arrest after allegedly exposing himself in a Sarasota, Florida adult movie theatre. Another popular series was Garfield and Friends, based on the Garfield newspaper comics, which debuted on the network in 1988; the episodes featured a mix of longer-length animated segments and short segments known as "Quickies", featuring characters from the Garfield and U.S. Acres strips. Although the series had still been doing well in the ratings, Garfield and Friends ended in 1994 after seven seasons through a mutual agreement to cease production, after the show's production company nixed a proposal by CBS to reduce its production budget. One series that never made it to the Saturday morning lineup was Garbage Pail Kids, a series based on the trading card series of the same name by Topps Company.
