Mark Davies is a former Wales International Rugby Union player. A flanker, Davies began his rugby career at Maesteg Comprehensive School and Nantyfyllon RFC before joining Swansea. He made his debut for the Wales on 5 December 1981 versus Australia and went on to attain 3 caps for Wales between 1981 and 1985. Davies has been involved with the Wales national rugby union team in non- playing roles since 1991 and joined the Welsh Rugby Union as a full-time member of staff in August, 1999.

The International Hydropower Association (IHA) was formed under the auspices of UNESCO in 1995 as a forum to promote and disseminate good practices and further knowledge about hydropower. IHA employed its first full-time member of staff in 2001. It now consists of five departments, a central office (London), a regional office (South America) and a national office (China). Following the publication of the World Commission on Dams final report in 2000, IHA participated in the United Nations Environmental Programme’s Dams and Development Project.

The union's general secretary, John Hereford, resigned late in 1898 due to poor health, and Challener was the only candidate to replace him, being declared elected at the union's conference in June 1899. From 1900, he also served as the union's treasurer, and from 1902 he became the union's first full-time member of staff.

The assessment process for the RAE focuses on quality of research outputs (which usually means papers published in academic journals and conference proceedings), research environment, and indicators of esteem. Each subject panel determines precise rules within general guidance. For RAE 2008, institutions are invited to submit four research outputs, published between January 2001 and December 2007, for each full-time member of staff selected for inclusion. In response to criticism of earlier assessments, and developments in employment law, the 2008 RAE does more to take into account part-time workers or those new to a sufficient level of seniority to be included in the process.

UK Black Pride began in 2005 as a day trip to Southend- on-Sea by members of the online social network Black Lesbians in the UK (BLUK). On Sunday 8 July 2018, approximately 7,500 people attended UK Black Pride at Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens. Stonewall, Europe's largest LGBT rights charity, withdrew its support from the Pride in London festival in 2018, following concerns over the event's "lack of diversity". The charity instead partnered with UK Black Pride, agreed on a joint programme of work in 2019, including the appointment by Stonewall of a full-time member of staff to work with UK Black Pride and BAME community groups.

The interest in ornithology continued throughout Fisher's life and in addition to his invertebrate work, he was the author of papers about birds in the journals The Auk and the Condor as well as in a number of journals published by the United States Government. For much of his time at Stanford the primary concern of Fisher's work was the Hopkins Marine Station. While the laboratory was located at Pacific Grove, he had collected and studied there as well as teaching in some of the summer sessions. Once the new laboratory was built at Lovers Point in 1917, he took up the post of its resident director and for nearly ten years he was its only full-time member of staff.

In the case where the MD is awarded (either as a first or higher doctorate) for previously published research, the candidate is usually required to be either a graduate or a full-time member of staff, of several years' standing of the university in question.
