The 2000 Westar Rules season was the fourth season of ‘Westar Rules’ and the 116th season of the various incarnations of senior football in Perth. It was the last season before the competition’s name was changed back to the traditional ‘WAFL’ as it was clear the public had not been attracted by the change.Devaney, John; Full Points Footy’s WA Football Companion; p. 96. Owing to the Sydney Olympics, Westar Rules shortened the 2000 season from twenty to eighteen matches per club, and retained this eighteen-match season in 2001 and 2002 before going back to the current twenty-match season.

A preliminary round of 40 shots is performed, and the top players (the number varies depending on the number of competitors, but usually the top 12) proceed into a head-to-head playoff format to determine the winner.
The 1997 Westar Rules season was the 113th season of senior football in Perth, Western Australia. It featured a number of dramatic changes to a competition whose popularity had been dramatically reduced by the drain of players to the Eagles and Dockers of the AFL. The competition's name was changed from the prosaic ‘West Australian Football League’ to ‘Westar Rules’ in an attempt to update the local competition for a more sophisticated audience.Devaney, John; Full Points Footy’s WA Football Companion; p. 96. However, this change became regarded as unsuccessful and was reversed as per recommendations of the “Fong Report”Barker, Anthony J. Behind the Play: A History of Football in Western Australia; pp. 358-360.
The most common forms of an ellipsis include a row of three periods or full points or a precomposed triple-dot glyph, the horizontal ellipsis . Style guides often have their own rules governing the use of ellipses. For example, The Chicago Manual of Style (Chicago style) recommends that an ellipsis be formed by typing three periods, each with a space on both sides , while the Associated Press Stylebook (AP style) puts the dots together, but retains a space before and after the group, thus: . Whether an ellipsis at the end of a sentence needs a fourth dot to finish the sentence is a matter of debate; Chicago advises it,The Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition (2017), §13.51–52.
The 1935 WANFL season was the 51st season of the Western Australian National Football League. The season saw West Perth win the premiership under the coaching of Johnny Leonard; it was the only time in West Perth's history that it won consecutive premierships,Devaney, John; Full Points Footy's WA Football Companion; pp. 172-3. preceding a brief but exceptionally steep decline that saw the Cardinals four years later suffer the equal longest losing streak in WA(N)FL history. The following season, Naylor played in the first of six South Fremantle premiership teams over an eight- year period that is generally regarded as the strongest team in WA(N)FL history, being one of three players present in all six Grand Final victories.
Despite positive early reviews from the Official Nintendo Magazine and GamePro, who gave it an 81% and a 4 out of 5 respectively, and also from Game Informer, which gave it a 7.75 out of 10, Boogie received negative reviews. 1UP.com gave it a 3 out of 10, saying it was fun for only 20 minutes and criticizing the shallow gameplay. GameSpot likewise gave it a 5.5 out of 10, citing that the karaoke does not work right (e.g., if you make any wrong noise it would give you full points) and that the single player mode was "flat-out lame". IGN gave Boogie a 4.5 out of 10, complaining about oversimplified controls and the whole control system in general.

The team was coached by ex-Carlton and ex-Melbourne player Jack Gardiner who was, no doubt, responsible for teaching Terry the secrets of the stab-pass, and the placement of long torpedo punts and long drop-kicks, that became so much a part of Terry's game. At that time, Cananore had somewhat of a reputation for selecting young players: Carlton's Fred Pringle played his first senior match with Cananore in 1920, aged 15,Full Points Footy: Cananore Football Club. and would return to Cananore in 1925, and serve four years as Captain-Coach. The Fos Williams Family Grandstand, built in 1903 at Alberton Oval, was named in honour of Fos Williams. This is in addition to a grandstand at Adelaide Oval also being named in honour of Fos Williams. Football historian John Devaney wrote of Williams that "Perhaps more than any other single individual, Fos Williams was responsible for catapulting South Australian football out of its predominantly casual, laissez faire mentality into the same kind of professional, brutally expedient, 'win at all costs' mindset as prevailed across the border in Victoria."Devaney, J. The 1936 WANFL season was the 52nd season of the Western Australian National Football League. The most conspicuous features were the rise of Claremont to their first finals appearance since entering the WAFL ten years beforehand after having won only forty (plus two draws) of its first 183 games,Devaney, John; The Full Points Footy Encyclopedia of Australian Football Clubs, Volume 1; pp. 98-99 and the thrilling finals series in which East Perth rose to their first premiership for nine years after holding on to a thrilling struggle for fourth position where all eight clubs were in the running well into August,'League Football – Claremont Recovers; Keen Rivalry – Swan Districts Fourth'; The West Australian, 10 August 1936, p. 6 then winning two finals by a solitary point.
This format was a precondition to receipt of a second FIA sanctioned U.S. Grand Prix. The crowd of only 55,000, while the largest to attend a road race in California, was a disappointment; even so, the speedway's schedule of upcoming events printed on page 130 of the 1971 California 500 official program listed a "Second Annual Questor Grand Prix" taking place on April 9 as "One of two full-points World Championship Formula 1 races scheduled for the U.S. next year." From a racing standpoint, the inaugural season was a tremendous success and from an attendance standpoint only the hybrid Questor Grand Prix was a disappointment. In April, 1971, Lockton resigned as CEO from Ontario (as well as from Sports Headliners) to pursue non-automobile racing related interests and was replaced as CEO by Ray Smartis, the vice president and general manager.

The WAFL has existed since 1885 within Western Australia, and until the latter part of the 20th century was of equivalent standard to either the VFL or SANFL. The 1946 East Fremantle team was the first club in senior WAFL football to have managed a perfect season, winning all twenty-one of its games; it is noted that the playing lists of many of its opponents had been seriously depleted by World War II.Devaney, John; Full Points Footy's WA Football Companion; pp. 69-70. The only loss for the season came against Victorian club Collingwood in a post season exhibition match. GreenJolly won the nomination to represent Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 by the interactive vote held among TV viewers, after Razom nas bahato was controversially put in contention as a last minute 'wild-card' addition to the final of the national pre-selection competition, which had already gone through fifteen semi-finals, dating back to before the Orange Revolution. This success came as a surprise even for the band performers who in the immediate aftermath vowed to represent Ukraine competitively in the contest. However, the lyrics of the song have had to be substantially reworked in order to be consistent with the rules laid down by the European Broadcasting Union. In the finals, which were held in Ukraine after Ruslana's win in the 2004 contest, GreenJolly finished 20th despite picking up full points from the Polish televote, thanks to media exposure to a Polish reworking of the song made by the country's biggest hiphop stars in support of Ukraine's Orange Revolution.
On the other boards, Canada continued with their strong performance by beating Belarus 2½-1½ as a result of the Eric Hansen's win against Andrey Zhigalko on board three; China edged out Argentina with the same result thanks to Ding Liren and Li Chao who scored full points against Federico Perez Ponsa and Diego Flores, respectively, but Wang Yue lost to Sandro Mareco with the White pieces on board one; Norway tied with the Philippines in a match resulting in four draws, where Julio Catalino Sadorra held World champion Magnus Carlsen to a draw. Carlsen got a small edge out of the opening but did not manage to cash in from it and put himself in an inferior position with a pawn down that he was still able to hold. After the game, Sadorra commented: > It was only time trouble that kept me from converting the advantage… It's me > against me. The only reason I will lose or not find good moves is me.

The blue and golds were to win the following two premierships before a long period near the foot of the ladder after Claremont Oval was gutted by a fire in 1944. 1938 also saw triple Brownlow Medallist Haydn Bunton senior, enticed by the offer of employment, move to Subiaco and win the first of three Sandovers in only four seasons in Perth; however his presence overshadowed the rest of the team and the Maroons were to advance only one place compared to 1937, being handicapped by the loss of champion defender Lou Daily to the Goldfields where he led Mines Rovers to several premierships.

A breach call can result in three different scenarios: ;Win/Lose: If the bidding team successfully fulfills its contract, then it receives the full points of the original bid, and the team calling breach loses points. ;Lose/Lose: If the bidding team does not fulfill its bid, but the opposing team does not take the necessary number of tricks to perform a breach, then the bidding team loses the point value of the original bid, and the team calling breach loses the predetermined value of the breach call. ;Lose/Win: If the bidding team loses its bid by the pre- established number of tricks, then the bidding team loses the contract points, and the team calling breach gains the predetermined value of the breach call. Because breach is not considered an actual bid, a team may not win or lose (“go out the back door”) based on points gained or lost from a breach call.
