However, when a Stargate is filmed with just a closed iris (i.e. without it moving), a tangible prop is inserted into place.

Bradley Court Bradley is a small village in the Stroud District, in the county of Gloucestershire, England. Also part of the village is the hamlet of Bradley Green, with its eponymous area of common land, still used for agriculture today. Buildings of note include the Grade II listed Bradley Court, once owned by the Berkeleys of Berkeley Castle and various former weavers' cottages which front on to Bradley Green itself. Within sight are Swinhay House, Wotton Hill and the Tyndale Monument.

Atherton, the third largest retail centre in the Wigan Borough, has a small pedestrian shopping centre. Most shops front on to Market Street and date from late Victorian times, the majority operated by small independent retailers, although there is a supermarket that brings customers into the town centre. Older, low cost, mostly terraced housing, surrounds the centre of town. Bolts and fastenings are still manufactured in Atherton by Smith Bullough, one of a few remaining bolt and nut manufacturers in the UK. As of 2009, a business park is planned for the former Gibfield Colliery site.

The South front, on to Bath Road St Michael and All Angels began as a temporary building on Chiswick High Road opposite Chiswick Lane, some distance from its present site, in 1876. The present church at the corner of Turnham Green Terrace and Bath Road, near Turnham Green tube station, was designed by the architect Norman Shaw. He was the Estate Architect for Bedford Park, designing some of its earliest houses in red brick and white-painted woodwork, known as Queen Anne revival style. Although this style was considered novel but not particularly ecclesiastical by the architect G. E. Street at the time, Shaw decided to use a similar style for the church.
