From Glenties, it follows the course of the Owenea River to the end of the trail at Ardara. The Bluestack Way is proposed to be included in the Irish leg of the International Appalachian Trail (IAT), an extension of the Appalachian Trail through Canada to Newfoundland, to all terrain that formed part of the Appalachian Mountains of Pangaea, including Ireland.
State Trunk Highway 37 (often called Highway 37, STH 37 or WIS 37) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs generally south-southwesterly through west-central Wisconsin from Eau Claire to Alma. The southern , from Mondovi (the only significant settlement along the course of the highway) to Alma, generally follows the course of the Buffalo River.
South Surrey Park is a park in Melbourne, Australia, located in the suburb of Surrey Hills. The park is progressively being replanted with indigenous native species. It is currently maintained by the City of Boroondara and the Friends of South Surrey Park. South Surrey Park follows the course of Back Creek from Union Road in the north to Riversdale Road in the South.
During the Early Middle Ages, Olivone was probably the center of a parish that was over the whole valley. Starting in the High and Late Middle Ages, the village's history follows the course of the entire valley. The Parish Church of S. Martino was built before 1136, and in the 17th century, was rebuilt, followed by renovations in 1974 and 1984-91.
The national road SS 12 (Abetone – Brennero) follows the course of the Serchio already to a Lucca's valley, after going up until Bagni di Lucca; from here until the origins, from street to Capanne di Sillano and the step of Pradarena. A large segment roughly follows the course of Johnson Creek and crosses it on bridges many times. Much of the corridor was acquired by the City of Portland in 1990; remaining segments were acquired by Metro thereafter. The trail is part of the Portland area's 40-Mile Loop trail system. At Scar Village there is another picnic spot and a car park. The railway followed the most northerly of the two tracks at this point. Another track down to the weirs follows the course of one of the zig-zag tracks across the valley. A footpath crosses the dam to the north side of the lake, where the incline to the quarry is still clearly visible.

After Hohenstein- Ernstthal, the line passes under highway B 180 to reach St. Egidien station, where another line to Stollberg starts. At Glauchau, the Glauchau–Wurzen railway (Mulde Valley Railway) used to branch off, but almost all of it is now closed. At the next station, Glauchau-Schönbörnchen, the line to Gößnitz branches off. The line now turns south and follows the course of the Zwickauer Mulde.

One of these paths, the Röhrensteig east of the Selbitz, follows the course of the pressurised water pipes of an old electricity station, that today still uses water from the Selbitz.
The crater Cichus forms the eastern end of the mare. The northern extension of the mare reaches the outer rims of the crater pair Campanus and Mercator. A narrow valley between these craters joins Palus Epidemiarum with Mare Nubium, and a rille from the Rimae Ramsden follows the course of this cleft. The small double-walled crater Marth lies at the southern midpoint of this northern extension.

Site of the former station, in 2007. The footpath on the right follows the course of the dismantled line. Grimsargh railway station was on the single track Preston and Longridge Railway. It served the village of Grimsargh in Lancashire, England. When the line first opened in 1840, wagons carrying quarried stone ran downhill from Longridge to Preston and were hauled in the other direction by horses.

A short, half mile (800 m) trail leads to Silver Springs near the park's east entrance. A longer, four mile (6.4 km) trail follows the course of the Fox River through the park's wooded areas.

A tramping track runs along the riverJim Dufresne. 2002 and forms the western branch of the Travers-Sabine tramping circuit. This route usually starts from Saint Arnaud at the northern end of Lake Rotoiti. It follows the course of the Travers River, goes up over the sub alpine Travers Saddle (1787 metres), and then descends along the East Sabine Valley and Sabine Valley to Lake Rotoroa.

The Esk Valley Line is a railway line located in the north of England, covering a total distance of around , running from Middlesbrough to Whitby. The line follows the course of the River Esk for much of its eastern half. The Esk Valley Line was designated as a community rail line in July 2005, being one of seven intended pilots for the Department for Transport's Community Rail Development Strategy.
This line was originally part of the Kanawha and Michigan Railroad. This is the main attraction for the small community of Limehouse. The Bruce Trail is a hiking trail in Ontario that runs from Queenston on the Niagara River, to Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula in Lake Huron. The over long trail follows the course of the Niagara Escarpment, often along its edge. Many parts of the trail go unused, although the Limehouse entrance sees a lot of tourism.

Houghton ( ) is a small village and civil parish in the Test Valley district of Hampshire, England. The village is situated alongside the River Test. Its nearest town is Stockbridge, which lies approximately 1.8 miles (3 km) to the north-east. The village is a dispersed linear settlement, mostly strung out along the single road through the village, which broadly follows the course of the River Test north-south.
There is a sewage treatment works on the northern bank, opposite the farm. On the edge of woods called New Plantation, it is joined by Owlands Wood Dike and turns abruptly to the north, to join Oldcotes Dyke. Owlands Wood Dike begins at a pond to the south of Gildingwells, and initially flows south. The Rotherham and Nottinghamshire border follows the course of the stream, which then turns to the east.
The South Staffordshire Railway Walk is another Local Nature Reserve. It follows the course of the former Wombourne Branch Line, traversing Wombourne from north to south, before swinging east towards Himley and Dudley. It intersects with the Wom Brook Walk at the western end of Ham Meadow. To the north, it connects with the Wolverhampton Railway Walk, affording a pedestrian route into Wolverhampton via the Smestow Valley LNR.
The modern Pine Creek Rail Trail follows the course of the Pine Creek Path, here north of Waterville in Cummings Township. The Pine Creek Path was a major Native American trail in the U.S. State of Pennsylvania that ran north along Pine Creek from the West Branch Susquehanna River near Long Island (modern-day Jersey Shore) to the headwaters of the Genesee River (in modern-day Genesee Township, Pennsylvania).
Västerlånggatan from Storkyrkobrinken. Västerlånggatan ("the Western Long Street") is a street in Gamla stan, the old town of Stockholm, Sweden. Stretching southward between the squares Mynttorget and Järntorget, it follows the course of the city's now demolished 13th-century defensive wall. The blocks along the street are elongated but only a few meters in width; those on the eastern side oriented lengthwise, and those on the western crosswise.
The North Downs Way long- distance footpath from Farnham to Dover, crosses the River Mole at the Stepping Stones and then runs from west to east at the top of the scarp slope, passing in front of the Salomons Memorial. Chipping is a hamlet in the civil parish of Buckland in the District of East Hertfordshire and county of Hertfordshire in England. Situated in a valley, Chipping is approximately two miles (3.2 km) north of Buntingford and six miles (9.6 km) south of Royston. The A10 road (which follows the course of the Roman Ermine Street) passes through the village. Chipping is situated half a mile west of the prime meridian.
Route 15 follows the course of an old Lenape trail running from what is now Ross's Corner to DoverSnyder, John (1969). "The Story of New Jersey's Civil Boundaries 1606-1968". In 1804, this road was legislated as a part of the Union Turnpike, which ran from Morristown north to Dingman's Ferry in Montague. In the 1927 New Jersey state highway renumbering, Route 15 was designated as State Highway Route 6A.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which, of it is land and of it (2.32%) is water. New York State Route 166 follows the course of Cherry Valley Creek through the south part of the town. Cherry Valley Creek and Red Creek, which drain the town, are tributaries of the Susquehanna River. The western part of Middlefield borders Otsego Lake.
National and regional walking trails pass through the village and there are various local footpaths too. The Darent Valley Path is accessed from Rye Lane and follows the course of the River Darent from Sevenoaks to Dartford. The line then largely follows the course of the Aare to Aarau station. There are no large engineering structures apart from the Reuss Bridge. In Turgi, a line branches off to Koblenz, running north through the lower Aare valley. In Brugg, the Bözberg Railway branches off to the northwest to Basel and the Aargau Southern Railway branches off to the south towards Arth-Goldau, the Gotthard and Italy.
Some visible remains of the Portsea Section still exist in 2011. A section of the Portsmouth-London mainline railway follows the course of the canal between Portsmouth & Southsea and Fratton stations. Beyond them Goldsmith avenue was constructed along the line of the canal. Off Goldsmith Avenue, the east-west route of the canal can still be traced by more recent residential development along Old Canal and Towpath Mead roads.
The Bulgaria–Romania border (, ) is the state border between Bulgaria and Romania. For most of its length, the border follows the course of the lower Danube River, up until the town of Silistra. From Silistra, the river continues north into the Romanian territory. East of that point, the land border passes through the historical region of Dobruja, dividing it into Northern Dobruja in Romania and Southern Dobruja in Bulgaria.

Newmilns extends for about two miles along the narrowest part of The Valley and roughly follows the course of the river. Most of the town sits on the north side of the river; the south side remains less developed, despite being generally flatter.

It then follows the course of the river Sava to the mouth of the river Una, then the course of the river Una as far as the north-eastern boundary of the district of Dvor (south-west of Kostajnica).
Mount Pleasant Road was named after the cemetery which it passes through when it was constructed in the late 1910s. The road follows the course of several earlier streets, many of which it assumed, including Kinsman Avenue (1918), Sidmouth Avenue (1920) and Hilda Avenue (1935). In the late 1940s, Mount Pleasant Road was extended south to its current terminus. This was initially referred to as the Clifton Road Extension, and is considered Toronto's first expressway.
State Highway 289, known for most of its length as Preston Road, is a north- south Texas state highway. It begins at the intersection of Preston Road and Loop 12/Northwest Highway in Dallas. The Preston Road designation comes from the fact that the highway generally follows the course of an older road known as the Preston Trail, which ran to the town of Preston [Bend] . Preston is now submerged by Lake Texoma.
The site was bought by Newark Urban Council in 1912, and formed part of Devon Park, which has since been extended by further acquisitions of land. Crossing under the B6166, which follows the course of the Fosse Way Roman road at this point, the Devon joins the River Trent. Below the bridge, the river is used for moorings, and there is a marina on the western bank. The mouth is below the contour.

The bridge is called Standing Flat bridge, and is just to the north of Thorpe Audlin. The next crossing is the B6474 as it enters Wentbridge. The grade II listed bridge has two arches, made of rockfaced magnesian limestone and sandstone ashlar blocks, and is probably early nineteenth century.
Real time data are available here. A trail is under development that follows the course of the river, especially in the city of New Haven. The lower portion of the river is a fresh tidal system because of the existence of tide gates that cyclically block flow near State Street in New Haven. This section of the river is the subject of research to determine how sediments, metals, and other substances cycle through the estuary.

The long-distance Danube Cycle Trail begins in Donaueschingen and follows the course of the Danube.
The area was once woodland inside Pensnett Chase, which was mainly common land under the lordship of the Barons of Dudley. The hard volcanic rock (dolerite) that forms Barrow Hill was quarried in the 19th century for use as road stone. Another reminder of the industrial age in the reserve is a footpath that follows the course of one of the Earl of Dudley's private railways. The reserve was created in 2005.
Although very short, the river is called by locals with six different names according to the neighborhood it crosses. From the Asaina Pass to Jōmyō-ji it's about a meter wide and is called . The history of Padua during Late Antiquity follows the course of events common to most cities of north- eastern Italy. Padua suffered from the invasion of the Huns and was savagely sacked by Attila in 450. A number of years afterward, it fell under the control of the Gothic kings Odoacer and Theodoric the Great. It was reconquered for a short time by the Byzantine Empire in 540 during the Gothic War.

After bypassing that city, the A16 turns south again, and follows the course of the Birse via Moutier and Court until Tavannes.

La Boisselle is a settlement dating back to pre-Roman times.The La Boisselle Project: project details, access date: 4 November 2016 The D 929 Albert–Bapaume road follows the course of a Roman road. After the Battle of Bapaume during the Franco-Prussian War (1870–1871), the village suffered serious damage. A farmstead that existed on the present site was ruined during the war and eventually demolished in 1883 by its owners, the Berchon family.
The highway leaves the lake's shore at Kingston, continuing south to Garston, where, the highway briefly follows the course of the infant Mataura River before heading across rolling hill country to the upper reaches of the Oreti River near Lowther. The highway continues to follow the Oreti south across the Southland Plains, past the towns of Lumsden and Winton before reaching its terminus at a junction with SH 1 in central Invercargill.

Also according to Melbourne Water, the river is the unhealthiest waterway in Melbourne. Loggerheads Country Park is a country park in the village of Loggerheads, Denbighshire, Wales. The park has a wooded river valley that follows the course of the River Alyn and high cliffs from within the Clwydian Range of mountains, with views of the range's tallest mountain Moel Famau. The park has a visitor centre, woodland walks, and two landmarks—a historic corn mill called Pentre Mill, and a gorge called Devil's Gorge.

The line from Stoke-on-Trent to Bucknall and Northwood remained in use for stone traffic to and from Oakamoor and Caldon where they served the sand sidings and the quarries but the line was mothballed in 1988 as a result. The line from Ford Green and Smallthorne to Mossley via Biddulph now forms the Biddulph Valley Way and is used by cyclists and walkers. It follows the course of the entire line.

The Pottawattomis had settlements on the Elkhart River at Elkhart, Goshen, and Waterford, and at Monoquet between Leesburg and Warsaw in what became Kosciusko County, Indiana. Thus, the Plymouth-Goshen Road through Nappannee probably follows the course of an old Indian Trail.
Paulerspury is a civil parish and small village in Northamptonshire, England, within the district of South Northamptonshire. It is approximately south of Towcester and north of Milton Keynes along the A5 road (which follows the course of the Roman Road of Watling Street). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 42.7 square miles (110.5 km2), of which, 42.6 square miles (110.3 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km2) of it (0.23%) is water. Otego Creek flows southward through the eastern part of Laurens. A sulfur spring is located about a mile north of Laurens village. New York State Route 205, a north-south highway, follows the course of Otsego Creek.
The church's exterior Hardham village is just off the main A29 road, which is "excitingly" separated from the village lane by narrow hedges. The A29 follows the course of Stane Street, an important Roman road, and Hardham was the first posting station after leaving the Roman city of Noviomagus Reginorum (present-day Chichester). Hardham was recorded in the Domesday survey of 1086 as Heriedham, but a church was not described. Hardham Priory was founded nearby in 1248.
The line follows the course of many different rivers. The course of the Neckar with its many loops complicates the route of the southern section. A direct route between Stuttgart and Heilbronn stations would be about 40 km, the length of the railway line is about 50 km, while a continuous line along the Neckar river would have a length of about 70 km. The line leaves central Stuttgart through a tunnel under the Prag ridge.
Sankey Valley Park is a public park in Warrington, Cheshire. It occupies part of the Sankey Valley and the main park itself covers over 1½ miles between Sankey Bridges in the south and Callands in the north. The valley follows the course of Sankey Brook and the now disused Sankey Canal. The park is enjoyed by walkers, cyclists and anglers and the central section of the park is family orientated with children's play features, a maze and lawned areas.
Bassleton Wood and The Holmes is a Local Nature Reserve in the town of Thornaby-on-Tees, in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, England. Bassleton Wood is an ancient woodland. The Holmes follows the course of the River Tees and provides a haven for wildlife such as roe deer have been seen within the nature reserve. Within The Holmes there is a wildlife pond that features some of the most rare species in northern England.
The road skirting the western walled garden of the mansion was named after Beirut's sand hills, Tariq ar-Raml (meaning the sand road, later renamed Abdel-Kader street) follows the course of the flat valley rising from north to south. To the opposite of Tariq ar-Raml stood mulberry and citrus orchards interdispersed by small irregular buildings. The train leaves the city of Chur (585 m) in Graubünden and follows the course of the Rhine to Bonaduz (655 m). From there it enters the Domleschg Valley and follows the Posterior Rhine from Rhäzüns (658 m) to Thusis (697 m). The train continues toward Tiefencastel (851 m) following the Albula and then crosses the Landwasser Viaduct before arriving at Filisur (1032 m). Shortly after Filisur the train passes its first spiral tunnel and continues to Bergün/Bravuogn.
The South West Coast Path runs on both sides of the River Camel estuary and crosses from Padstow to Rock via the Black Tor ferry. The path gives walking access to the coast with Stepper Point and Trevose Head within an easy day's walk of Padstow. The Saints' Way long-distance footpath runs from Padstow to Fowey on the south coast of Cornwall. The Camel Trail cycleway follows the course of the former railway (see above) from Padstow.

The highest river level recorded at Rosedale Way, Cheshunt was 1.57 metres and the river level reached 1.57 metres on 11/06/2012.
The A46 is a major A road in England. It starts east of Bath, Somerset and ends in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, but it does not form a continuous route. Large portions of the old road have been lost, bypassed, or replaced by motorway development. Between Leicester and Lincoln the road follows the course of the Roman Fosse Way, but between Bath and Leicester, two cities also linked by the Fosse Way, it follows a more westerly course.
The Nashua River Rail Trail is a paved mixed-use rail trail in northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire under control of the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). It roughly follows the course of the Nashua River, passing through the towns of Ayer, Groton, Pepperell, and Dunstable, Massachusetts and ends about a mile across the New Hampshire state border in Nashua, New Hampshire. The trail is used by walkers, cyclists, inline skaters, equestrians, and cross-country skiers.
Pont Henri (or Ponthenri) is a small rural village in Wales, located in the centre of the Gwendraeth Valley, halfway between the towns of Carmarthen and Llanelli. Most of the village comes under the Parliamentary constituency of Llanelli and the jurisdiction of Llanelli Rural Council. The rest of the village is represented by Carmarthen East and Dinefwr constituency and Llangendeirne Community Council. The electoral boundary in Pont-Henri follows the course of the Gwendraeth Fawr river.
The Upper Jagst Railway () is a line from Goldshöfe to Crailsheim in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is part of the route of InterCity services between Karlsruhe and Nuremberg and is single-track and electrified. The line follows the course of the upper Jagst river, which it is named after. The prefix distinguishes it from the Lower Jagst Railway (Unteren Jagstbahn), which is the Bad Friedrichshall–Osterburken section of the modern Franconia Railway (Frankenbahn).
On the upper river, the remains of most of the old locks are still visible, although all are gradually deteriorating. The Sussex Ouse Conservation Society promotes awareness of the navigation, and publishes details of circular walks which include river sections. For serious walkers, the Sussex Ouse Valley Way is a long-distance footpath which follows the course of the river. It begins near its source at Horsham, and is long, ending at the sea near Seaford.
The Afon Carno rises near the watershed with the Afon Dyfi; and runs 9 miles south-eastward to the River Severn, 2¼ miles north of Llandinam. The village's name is supposedly derived from the Welsh language word for cairn (carnedd), as there are many ancient cairns on the hills surrounding the village. The A470 road between Llanbrynmair and Caersws passes through the village. This part of the route follows the course of the Afon Carno through hilly country.
After passing beneath the Lutterworth bypass, the Swift continues south-west until it reaches the Bransford Bridge crossing under the A5. This road follows the course of Watling Street, the Roman road that linked London to Wroxeter. Downstream of the bridge the river passes the site of the deserted medieval village of Cestersover, and then the modern village of Churchover. At this point a canal feeder takes water from the river to supply the nearby canal.
Ordnance Survey, 1:2500 map, 1930 There is a long-distance path which follows the course of the river from its source to its junction with the River Don. It is known as the Dearne Way, and the paths are marked on current editions of the Ordnance Survey maps. The path is around long and can be walked in 12 to 16 hours. Walkers who start at the source descend through over the length of the walk.
An image of the Black Dog has been incorporated in the coat of arms of Bungay and has been used in the titles of various enterprises associated with Bungay as well as several of the town's sporting events. An annual race, The Black Dog Marathon, begins in Bungay, and follows the course of the River Waveney and the town's football club is nicknamed the "Black Dogs". Black Shuck was also the subject of a song by The Darkness.

Sign at the King's Lynn end of the Path The Fen Rivers Way is a long distance footpath that spans a distance of . The path runs between the City of Cambridge and the town of King's Lynn in West Norfolk. It follows the course of the River Cam and River Great Ouse across the fenland landscape into the Wash. It provides a small part of European Long Distance Path E2 which goes from Nice to Galway.
At Waiblingen station the Murr Railway branches off. From Waiblingen the Rems Railway continues as a double-track line through the Rems valley and it crosses the Haldenbach river outside Endersbach station on a round-arched viaduct. The line crosses the Rems before Urbach and follows the course of the Rems until Essingen. While the Rems flows from the south of the main valley in Essingen, the Rems line follows the main valley to the east.
The Chennai MRTS route is largely elevated, with at-grade sections at its terminals. From Beach to Chennai Park Town station, the line runs at grade, parallel to the suburban railway network. Following Chennai Park Town station, the line's first phase becomes elevated and follows the course of the Buckingham Canal, which runs parallel to the Coromandel Coast. The line remains elevated for the alignment of the second phase up to Perungudi, after which it returns to an at-grade section at Velachery.
Former SH 91 leaves SH 1 at Balclutha immediately to the north of the Balclutha Road Bridge. The route travels southeast, following the course of the Clutha River downstream. At the start of the river's delta, the route roughly follows the course of the northern delta branch, the Matau, but running straight rather than following the river's meanders. It is maintained jointly by DCC and Sustrans. Currently, the Way is supported by a Sunday-only train service during summer months to and from Okehampton railway station providing links to nearby Exeter run by DCC and Great Western Railways. The Granite Way largely follows the course of the former Southern Region railway line. The route includes notable features such as crossing the Meldon Viaduct and Lake Viaduct both of which were formerly railway bridges and are of historical interest.
This line was originally part of the Kanawha and Michigan Railroad. The Boyle River is a river of New Zealand. A tributary of the Hope River, it flows south, then west before curving round to the southeast before joining with the Hope. State Highway 7 follows the course of the river for some distance south of the Lewis Pass; the pass itself is located less than five kilometres to the west of the river's source. The upper reaches of the river form a deep valley between the Opera Range and the Libretto Range.

The Nene Way broadly follows the course of the River Nene and starts in Badby, Northamptonshire, ending in Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire, passing en route through Northampton town and the city of Peterborough, the market towns of Thrapston, Oundle and Whittlesey, and villages such as Fotheringay. It has recently been terminated in Northampton due to building works. This has been reported to the ramblers association and the Northamptonshire Council as such a way is of historical interest and cannot be simply terminated.

Nevada State Route 318 traverses the southeast, east, and part of the northeast of the range. It follows the course of the White River, from Hiko and Crystal Springs, about 20 miles south of Timber Mountain. Route 318 continues north into the east side of White River Valley, reaching Lund, about 50 mi distant. Unimproved dirt road Seaman Wash Road at the southwest range perimeter, accesses the center-south of Coal Valley, and the Coal Valley Reservoir, at dissected land or saltflats.
Costessey ( ) is a civil parish situated west of Norwich in Norfolk, England. The parish comprises two settlements: the long-established town of Costessey (now commonly Old Costessey) (2011 population 7,265), and New Costessey (population 5,198), which developed during the first half of the 20th century and has become a suburb of Norwich. The two settlements are separated by the River Tud and by arable land. Costessey's northern boundary with Taverham, Drayton and Hellesdon follows the course of the River Wensum.
In 2004 Six Portwall Markers, a sculptural group by John Aiken consisting of a sequence of six black granite blocks, was positioned along Rivergate, the modern street which follows the course of the Portwall. Junction 45 on the M4 motorway is built over the route of the canal. At Tirpenry, the canal swerved to the west, while the railway passed along the eastern edge of the Midland Tinplate Works and the Morriston Tinplate Works. The A4067 follows the course of the railway at this point, but resumes following the bed of the canal a little further to the south. From this point southwards, the canal was surrounded by a large variety of industrial works around 1900.
The Canal du Nivernais links the Loire with the Seine, following approximately the course of the river Yonne in a south to north direction. Maritsa Peak on Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica is named after Maritsa River. La Maritza is also a 1968 song written by Jean Renard and Pierre Delanoë and interpreted by Sylvie Vartan. Hebrus Valles on Mars is named after this river. The Bulgarian Maritsa motorway, which roughly follows the course of the river from Chirpan (where it branches out of the Trakia motorway) to the Turkish border at Kapitan Andreevo, is also named in honour of the river.
The Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail is a , gravel mixed-use rail trail in central New Hampshire that is currently under construction, under control of the Friends of the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail (FCLSRT). It roughly follows the course of the Concord and Claremont Railroad line, starting in Concord and passing through the towns of Hopkinton, Warner, Sutton, and Bradford, and ending in Newbury at Lake Sunapee. The trail is being designed for use by walkers, cyclists, equestrians, and cross-country skiers.

Place name sign in Conington Conington (Conington All Saints, or "Conington- juxta-Petriburg") is an English village and civil parish in the Cambridgeshire . Conington lies about 10 km (6 miles) south of Peterborough and 3 km (2 miles) north of Sawtry. It is within earshot of the A1(M), part of the Great North Road, which follows the course of the Roman Ermine Street. Conington lies within Huntingdonshire, which is a non-metropolitan district of Cambridgeshire and one of the historic counties of England.
Between them, an early 19th-century bridge with five arches and long retaining walls, built from ironstone and limestone, acts as a weir. After the lakes, the river passes to the east of Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir and the hamlet of Stenwith, to flow under the Grantham Canal in a conduit. By this time it is below the contour. The county border between Leicestershire and Lincolnshire follows the course of the river for a short distance near the bottom lake, and beyond Woolsthorpe, the river is in Lincolnshire.
The nearby Herbriggen station has, apart from two platform tracks, a connecting track for a substation associated with the power station. The original station building no longer exists; it was replaced in 1966 by a new structure. The next section of line to Randa is shaped primarily by the landslide of 1991, which buried 250 metres of the then existing line and necessitated extensive new line construction. Behind Herbriggen, the line initially follows the course of the Vispa in the middle of the valley.
The Ashford–Ramsgate line is a railway that runs through Kent from Ashford to Ramsgate via Canterbury West. Its route mostly follows the course of the River Great Stour. The line was opened in 1846 by the South Eastern Railway (SER). The SER's route included reversing at Ramsgate to take a branch line to ; this section closed in the 1920s as part of a rationalisation to merge duplicate routes built by the SER and its former competitor the London, Chatham and Dover Railway (LCDR).

Aizenay is 15 km north-west of La Roche-sur- Yon, 25 km from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and Challans and 30 km from Les Sables d'Olonne (on the Atlantic Ocean Vendée coast). Aizenay is bordered by the communes of La Chapelle-Palluau, Maché, Apremont, Coëx, La Chapelle- Hermier, Martinet, Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche, Venansault, La Génétouze and Le Poiré-sur-Vie. Its northern boundary follows the course of the river Vie. The Aizenay Forest is the most prominent natural feature of the commune.

The buildings lining Main Street present a unique architectural unity. The John H. Chaffee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor follows the Blackstone Valley from Worcester to Providence, Rhode Island. The corridor follows the course of the Industrial Revolution in America from its origin at the Slater Mill in Pawtucket, Rhode Island as it first spread north along the valley to Worcester, Massachusetts, and then to the rest of the nation. The region was designated a National Heritage Corridor by Congress in November 1986, composing 25 towns and cities throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The Fontanka Embankment () is a street in Saint Petersburg that follows the course of the Fontanka River from its origin as it diverges from the Neva River up to its confluence with the Great Neva. In 1762–1769 the general plan of city development was developed by the State Special Committee, headed by Aleksei Kvasov. Following this plan, in the 1780s the shores were imbanked in granite by architect Giacomo Quarenghi. The Fontanka Embankment was used as a border of Saint Petersburg central part.
After the community centre the trackbed is followable again down to Loughborough Fire Station, which again has been built on the trackbed, from here the route of the line is difficult to follow, but the footpath follows the course of the line closely. A care home and industrial estate have been built upon the rest of the former trackbed to Loughborough Derby Road station. The Station Hotel, now converted to a funeral home, is the only remaining structure of the small terminus constructed at this location.
Bayuda Desert Survey: 1999. The Challenge Road was part of a project, now completed, to provide an all-weather tarmac road linking Khartoum with the major centres in the north of Sudan, Kareima and Dongola. It was laid out across the Bayuda Desert in a direct line between the confluence of the White and Blue Niles and the most southerly part of the Debba Bend, re-joining the Nile at Gabolab. Between 95 km and 210 km from Omdurman, it follows the course of the Wadi Muqaddam.
State Route 87 (SR 87), locally called the Guadalupe Freeway, is a north-south state highway in San Jose, California, United States. Before being upgraded to a freeway, it was Guadalupe Parkway (and some signs still refer to it that way). For most of its length, especially in Downtown San Jose, the highway follows the course of the Guadalupe River. Its southern terminus is at SR 85, and its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 101 (US 101) just north of San Jose International Airport.
After many hairpin turns the train reaches Cavaglia (1,693 m) above the Val Poschiavo, then the Swiss Italian-speaking town of Poschiavo (1,014 meters). The train then follows the course of the Poschiavino and stops at Le Prese (964 m) and Miralago (965 m), both on Lake Poschiavo's shore. After Miralago it continues its descent toward Brusio (780 m), where it passes the spiral Brusio Viaduct. Shortly after the Italian border at Campocologno (553 m), the Bernina Express ends its journey at Tirano station (430 m).
It is joined underground by Coombe brook on the left and Horfield brook on the right. A brief stretch in St Jude's is uncovered and then the river runs underneath Broad Weir, Fairfax Street and Rupert Street. At the site of the former Stone Bridge, near the junction of Rupert Street and Christmas Street, the main flow is channelled through Mylnes Culvert. This follows the course of Marsh Street, Prince Street and Wapping Road, and joins the New Cut close to Gaol Ferry Bridge.
The division between the Boroondara and Stonnington municipalities follows the course of Gardiners Creek, which is a tributary of the Yarra River. A tributary of Gardiners Creek, running north through the suburb, Back Creek, has largely been turned into a drain. The Harold Holt Memorial Swimming Centre was built in memory of former Prime Minister Harold holt whose electoral seat was Higgins and included Glen Iris.
The tow-path follows the course of the foot-path just north of the caravan site and allotments on the south side of Locksway Road at its easternmost end, with the canal to the north side of this. There is evidence that the canal was filled in here with coke from the local gas works. The remains of the lock into Langstone Harbour are also still in evidence. The lock has been a conservation area since 1977 and is a grade II listed structure.
This included adjusting the boundaries of other existing localities in the Region to accommodate these changes; Lochington lost a small portion of land to the north to the new Anakie Siding, lost a strip of land from its north-eastern edge mostly to Gindie but gained a small piece of land from Minerva, with the overall effect of reducing the area of the locality from . As a consequence of these changes, the boundary beween Lochington and Minerva/Gindie more closely follows the course of the Nogoa River.
The road picks up again at the southern end of the Rio Portugues river dam, continuing in its southerly run through the rest of barrio Tibes and then through barrios Portugués Rural, and Portugués Urbano of the municipality of Ponce, before reaching barrio Sexto (Cantera) in the city of Ponce. According to Hildreth (2007), Belknap Crater is a broad, low-angled shield volcano compared to other mafic (rich in magnesium and iron) volcanic cones. Belknap's summit cone rises about above the base shield volcano, and the volcano itself rises about above its surroundings. Oregon Route 242, which follows the course of the McKenzie River, passes through the lava fields produced by Belknap Crater, the Yapoah cinder cone volcano, and a number of other volcanic vents. These fields consist of black, basaltic lava and encompass an area of .
Qushuiting Street is located in the Lixia District of the historical urban center of Jinan. It is about long and on average wide.Qushuiting Street - Baike online encyclopedia The street follows the course of the Winding Water Creek (Qu Shui Creek) that flows northwards from the Palace Pool (spring pool of the Zhuoying Spring) into the Daming Lake. On it course, Qushuiting Street passes by the Fuxue Confucian Temple and the Hundred Flower Pond, before it ends on Daming Lake Road just south of the Daming Lake.
The Sinn Valley Railway (, Sinn pronounced "zin") was a branch line that began in the Hessian village of Jossa and ran to Wildflecken via Altengronau in the Bavarian borough of Bad Brückenau. The line runs from Jossa, initially on the same railway tracks as the line from Flieden to Fulda (the Flieden–Gemünden railway). Shortly after Jossa it branches off onto its own trackbed and runs up the Sinn Valley and into the Rhön Mountains. The railway largely follows the course of the Sinn.
The mountain range runs for approximately 40 mi (64 km) southwest to northeast in northern Churchill County and southern Pershing County. The southwest end of the range is approximately 60 mi (100 km) ENE of Reno. The range separates the lower course and terminus-(Humboldt Lake) of the Humboldt River and the Humboldt Sink on the northwest side from the expansive Carson Sink on the south and southeast side. Interstate 80 follows the course of the Humboldt along the northwest side of the range.
Iowa 64 continues west with US 67, while US 52 turns north to follow the river. A violin painted on a silo near Green Island, a landmark along the route Between Sabula and Bellevue, US 52 follows the course of the Mississippi River. The roadway gradually enters the Driftless Area, a region of the midwestern United States which escaped glaciation during the last glacial period. Near the unincorporated community of Green Island, the highway passes through terrain where the elevation ranges from above sea level.
The Grand Canal probably follows the course of an ancient river (possibly a branch of the Brenta) flowing into the lagoon. Adriatic Veneti groups already lived beside the formerly-named "Rio Businiacus" before the Roman age. They lived in stilt houses and relied on fishing and commerce (mainly salt). Under the rule of the Roman empire and later of the Byzantine empire the lagoon became populated and important, and in the early 9th century the doge moved his seat from Malamocco to the safer "Rivoaltus".
The village is south-west from the A157 road, south-east from Market Rasen, north from Horncastle, 10 miles west from Louth and north-east from the city and county town of Lincoln. The civil parish is miles east to west and north to south, covering —expanded from in the 1880s—and is on the western edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AOB). The AOB runs north–south through the village. Part of the eastern boundary of the parish follows the course of the River Bain.
The River Lymn is joined by another embanked channel, Lady Wath's Beck, as it passes between Great Steeping to the north and Little Steeping to the south, and takes the name Steeping River. The railway line between Boston and Skegness crosses to the north bank, and then follows the course of the river to below Wainfleet All Saints. The next bridge is Clough's Bridge, carrying a minor road over the main channel. Just before it, the old course of the Lymn leaves the straight channel of the Steeping River.
The start of the walk at the Riverside Exchange quarter in Sheffield. The Upper Don Walk is a six mile long recreational walk which links the centre of Sheffield to the village of Oughtibridge to the north west of the city. It follows the course of the River Don and partially the National Cycle Network route 627 (a spur of the Trans Pennine Trail). The route is variable in quality, the first mile is well defined as it has been integrated into the newly developed quarters to the immediate north of the city centre.
In the south, the Bucketts Way branches off to the west of the Pacific Highway north of the Raymond Terrace bypass. Heading north, it crosses the Karuah River about south of Stroud and then roughly follows the course of the Karuah River upstream in a west-north-westerly direction for approximately , crossing the Mammy Johnsons River. It then turns north-north-east and then north for until it reaches Gloucester, crossing the Avon River on the way. The North Coast Railway line runs parallel with it from just north-east of Stroud Road to Gloucester.
The only highway in the district is West Virginia Route 62, which parallels the Ohio River for the entire length of the district, and is known locally as Ohio River Road south of Clifton, and Adamsville Road between Mason and Hartford. It follows the course of Mason Street in Clifton, Second Street in Mason City, and Pike Street in Hartford. A bridge spans the Ohio River at Mason City, coming out on West Main Street between Pomeroy and Middleport, in Ohio. It is the only crossing between Point Pleasant and Ravenswood.
Petén savannah The modern department of Petén is located in northern Guatemala. It is bordered on the west by the Mexican state of Chiapas; this border largely follows the course of the Usumacinta River. On the north side Petén is bordered by the Mexican state of Campeche and on the northwest by the Mexican state of Tabasco; Petén is bordered on the east by Belize and on the south side by the Guatemalan departments of Alta Verapaz and Izabal. The Petén lowlands are formed by a densely forested low-lying limestone plain featuring karstic topography.
Loggerheads is a village in Denbighshire, Wales on the River Alyn, a tributary of the River Dee. It is the location of Loggerheads Country Park which follows the course of the River Alyn through karstic limestone countryside including the sites of old lead mines and mills. There is a working flour mill on site. A leat or leete, built around 1824, follows the side of the valley nearby and was used to carry water to the lead mines of Mold Mines, on land owned by the Grosvenor family.
The Dee continues to meander past Worthenbury where it is joined by the River Clywedog. At this point the border between Wrexham and Cheshire West and Chester follows the course of the river. It passes the Cheshire village of Crewe by Farndon, before cutting between Holt in Wales and Farndon in England beneath the 14th-century, Grade I listed Farndon Bridge. One of the major tributaries of the Dee, the River Alyn () crosses the Carboniferous Limestone from Halkyn Mountain and runs down through the Loggerheads area before making its confluence north of Holt.
The track is 56 kilometres in length. It runs in a roughly south-north direction, its southern end being accessible by road 15 kilometres to the east of the Homer Tunnel, and its northern end being at the Tasman Sea coast at Martins Bay, north of Milford Sound. For most of its path, the track follows the course of the Hollyford River / Hollyford Valley. Features of the track are the two lakes, Lake Alabaster (or Waiwahuika) and Lake McKerrow (or Whakatipu Waitai), the latter being a fiord now cut off from the sea by sediment.
On 15 March 2014, the 1.8 kilometre stretch was opened from Reutebachgasse to the centre of Zähringen at Gundelfinger Straße after three years of construction. Part of this project was also the construction of the stop at Reutebachgasse about 50 metres to the north. The route follows the course of Zähringer Straße, crosses the freight railway and runs on its own line west of Gundelfinger Straße to the southern outskirts of Gundelfingen. Part of the terminal loop is located at the Gundelfinger boundary, so trams leave the region of Freiburg here.
Accounts vary, but Cohoquinoque Creek arose around the present-day intersection of Fifteenth and Spring Garden Streets (and perhaps as far north as Fairmount Avenue) and was also fed by a well-known spring in the Spring Garden district near present-day Ninth Street. The creek was later primarily known as Pegg's Run. Willow Street, a rare curvilinear street in the older part of Philadelphia, is wavy because it follows the course of the old stream. For centuries, Cohoquinoque Creek has often been confused with Cohocksink Creek, which is about a mile to the north.
The Llobregat–Anoia Line () is an unconnected metre gauge railway line linking Barcelona with the Baix Llobregat, Bages and Anoia regions, in Catalonia, Spain. Its name refers to the fact that it follows the course of the Llobregat and Anoia rivers for most of its length. Plaça d'Espanya station serves as the Barcelona terminus of the line, then continuing northwards to Martorell, where two main branches to Manresa and Igualada are formed. It also includes several freight branches, accounting for a total line length of and 41 passenger stations.
Interstate 29 (I-29) is an Interstate Highway in the Midwestern United States. I-29 runs from Kansas City, Missouri, at a junction with Interstate 35 and Interstate 70, to the Canada–US border near Pembina, North Dakota, where it connects with Manitoba Highway 75. The road follows the course of three major rivers, all of which form the borders of U.S. states. The southern portion of I-29 closely parallels the Missouri River from Kansas City northward to Sioux City, Iowa, where it crosses and then parallels the Big Sioux River.
It was designated by the Department for Transport as a community rail service in July 2006 and fully designated as a community rail line in September 2006. Meanwhile, the interest shown by the local councils, and public groups such as the Derwent Valley Rural Transport Partnership and the Friends of the Derwent Valley, has encouraged the interest of railway companies. In particular, it follows the course of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage corridor. Former operator Central Trains heavily promoted the line's tourist potential with a specially liveried train.
The Inn bridge at Passau The line begins in Wels station, where it runs to the northwest, separating from the Western Railway, which continues to the southwest. Similarly to most of the line from Vienna to Linz, the line between Linz, Wels and Passau avoids the course of the Danube. First, the line runs through the wide Traun valley and the Wels heath near Puchberg and follows the course of the Trattnach river from Bad Schallerbach to Taufkirchen. The Innviertel Railway branches off to Ried im Innkreis in Neumarkt im Hausruckkreis.
The first of these stations is the subway station Merianplatz under the square of the same name, the center of the lower Berger street. In the middle of the square is the Merianbad, not a swimming pool, but a former public bathhouse for citizens who did not have their own bathroom. The underground follows the course of the Berger road to the intersection Höhenstraße, a section of the avenue ring. Underneath the intersection is the U-Bahn station Höhenstraße, from where you can change to the city bus line 32, which runs via the Alleenring.
U.S. Route 61 or U.S. Highway 61 (US 61) is a major United States highway that extends between New Orleans, Louisiana and the city of Wyoming, Minnesota. The highway generally follows the course of the Mississippi River and is designated the Great River Road for much of its route. As of 2004, the highway's northern terminus in Wyoming, Minnesota, is at an intersection with Interstate 35 (I-35). Until 1991, the highway extended north on what is now Minnesota State Highway 61 (MN 61) through Duluth to the Canada–U.
The Seri Delima constituency contains the polling districts of Bukit Gelugor, Island Park, Kampong Hijau, Lintang Delima, Lorong Delima, Sungai Gelugor and Taman Tun Sardon. This state seat comprises the northern halve of Gelugor, a suburb of George Town, and the leafy, affluent neighbourhood of Green Lane. Seri Delima is bounded to the north by Green Lane and Jalan Tunku Kudin. The southern limits of the constituency roughly follows the course of the Gelugor River into the sea, with the portion of Gelugor south of the river coming under the neighbouring Batu Uban constituency.
Leith Valley is as much a rural settlement as a suburb, though it does lie within the Dunedin city boundaries very close to the edge of the city's main urban area. It is connected by Leith Valley Road, which follows the course of the river, crossing the Dunedin Northern Motorway by bridge towards its northern end. From here it runs roughly parallel with both the river and motorway before connecting with the latter at the Leith Saddle. At its southern end, Leith Valley Road becomes Malvern Street, the main route through Glenleith.
The village of La Boisselle is a settlement dating back to pre-Roman times,The La Boisselle Project: project details, access date: 4 November 2016 and the D 929 Albert–Bapaume road follows the course of a Roman road. During the Franco- Prussian War (1870–1871), the area suffered serious damage after the Battle of Bapaume. In World War I, the area was the site of intense and sustained fighting between German and Allied forces. Between 1914 and 1916, the Western Front ran through the commune, and its villages were completely destroyed.
Starting in the High and Late Middle Ages, the village's history follows the course of the entire valley. The Parish Church of S. Martino was built before 1136, and in the 17th century, was rebuilt, followed by renovations in 1974 and 1984-91. The church contains frescos from the 17th and 18th Centuries. Valuable furnishings and vestments on display in the Cà da Rivöi (Rivöi means Olivone in the local dialect), a building from the 15th Century. On Lukmanier street the hospice of SS Sepolcro e Barnaba at Casaccia, was built in 1104.
The Sayan intermontane steppe ecoregion (WWF ID:PA0815) is sometimes referred to as a "steppe island", being an expanse of grassland and shrubs surrounded by mountain forests in the Tyva Republic of south central Siberia, Russia. The Altai Mountains are to the west, the Sayan Mountains to the north, and the Tannu-Ola Mountains to the south. The ecoregion is in the temperate grasslands, savannas, and shrublands biome, and the Palearctic realm, with a Humid Continental climate. For much of its length, it follows the course of the upper Yenisei River.
New York State Route 690 is a limited access highway connecting with Thruway Exit 39 and bypassing Baldwinsville on the west. New York State Route 31 runs northeast-southwest through Van Buren, connecting Baldwinsville and Jordan. New York State Route 173 runs northwest--southeast, connecting Van Buren with Fairmount and Onondaga Hill. New York State Route 48 follows the course of the Seneca River in the eastern part of Van Buren; prior to the construction of Route 690, it carried much of the traffic between Baldwinsville and Syracuse.
The isolated aqueduct which carried the canal over the Afon Twrch at Ystalyfera The canal continues to the west of the river, passing through the first of the three Ynys Uchaf Locks, before it turned sharply to the west, where there were two more locks. The road recrosses the river and once more follows the course of the canal from the bend. Before reaching Ynys Isaf, there was a much wider section of canal. The two Ynys Isaf Locks were located to the south west of the hamlet, either side of the Ship Inn.
The western end of the courtyard is delimited by the ' (hall). It constitutes the real main and residential building of the castle and contains the King's stateroom and the servants' rooms. The is a colossal five-story structure in the shape of two huge cuboids that are connected in a flat angle and covered by two adjacent high gable roofs. The building's shape follows the course of the ridge. In its angles there are two stair towers, the northern one surmounting the palace roof by several storeys with its height of 65 metres (213 ft).
The area boasts one of the city's largest parks (Hull Road Park) which follows the course of Osbaldwick Beck mainly between Tang Hall Lane and Melrosegate. St Nicholas Fields Local Nature Reserve is home to York's Environment Centre and offers its own composting and door to door recycling collection service. The area is served by one secondary school, Archbishop Holgate's School, located in the Badger Hill area beyond Hull Road. It has since expanded with an English block called the Harris Building due to expansion in numbers as of the closure of Burnholme community college.

Then, the current from the latter crosses to the west of the Lac des Alliés to its mouth. From there, the current successively follows the course of the Rocheuse River on ; on towards the southwest by following the course of the rivière du Malin; then on generally towards the south along the current of the Jacques-Cartier River to the northeast bank of the Saint-Laurent river.
Wherryman's Way is in length, running between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. It follows the course of the River Yare where possible, with some significant stretches away from the river where there is no continuous path alongside the Yare. Where the River Chet meets the Yare, it follows the former upstream to Loddon and then largely uses roads to the Reedham Ferry to cross the River Yare. From Reedham the route is along the northern bank of the Yare the rest of the way, passing Berney Arms where it joins the route of the Weavers' Way.
It originates at the Lang Stracht in the city, which is a re-routing as, until 1999, the road left Aberdeen by way of Queens Road in the City Centre. However this route could not cope with the traffic. The road then passes Kingswells where there is a major junction with the A90 (the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route). The A944 then passes Westhill by way of Elrick, Dunecht, Sauchen, Millbank and then Alford, from where it joins the A980 road and thereafter loosely follows the course of the River Don into the Cairngorms.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which is land and , or 0.22%, is water. Most of the town lies in Taconic Mountains; the eastern boundary of the town generally follows the course of Otter Creek in the narrow Valley of Vermont. Dorset Peak, part of the Taconic range, lies on the town's southern border and reaches an elevation of 3,804 feet. Danby quarry, located near the peak, opened in the early 20th century and is likely the world's largest underground marble quarry.
The trail was opened on 7 September 2002 by Michael Smith, Minister for Defence. Starting at the Vee Gap, near Clogheen, in the Knockmealdown Mountains, the trail follows the course of the River Suir to Cashel, via the towns and villages of Ardfinnan, Cahir and Golden. The route follows part of an ancient road, known as Saint Declan's Way, that connected Ardmore, County Waterford with Cashel. It passes various sites of historical interest such as Hore Abbey, Cahir Castle, Swiss Cottage before finishing at the Rock of Cashel.
With trees many hundreds of years old the wood has remained relatively unchanged for centuries and is home to a wide variety of wildlife. The wood follows the course of the Borsdane Brook which is the boundary between Hindley and Westhoughton and the Metropolitan Boroughs of Wigan and Bolton. The brook flows through Wigan, Pennington Flash and into the Glaze Brook. From Hindley, Greater Manchester there are several entrances to the wood, one of which can be accessed from Hindley centre through Raynor Park or through the cemetery.
On 17 April 2020, the Queensland Government re-drew the boundaries of localities within the Central Highlands Region by replacing the locality of The Gemfields with three new localities of Rubyvale, Sapphire Central and Anakie Siding (around the towns of Rubyvale, Sapphire, and Anakie respectively). This included adjusting the boundaries of other existing localities in the Region to accommodate these changes; Minerva gained a small area from the north- eastern edge of Lochington, reducing the area of the locality from . As a consequence of these changes, the boundary beween Lochington and Minerva/Gindie more closely follows the course of the Nogoa River.
The Parkland Walk is a linear green walkway in London which follows the course of the railway line that used to run between Finsbury Park and Alexandra Palace, through Stroud Green, Crouch End, Highgate and Muswell Hill, mostly in Haringey. Because it avoids the closed surface section of Highgate station and its adjoining tunnels, which are closed to walkers for safety reasons, there are in fact two separate sections to this walk. It is located near Hampstead Heath and is a local nature reserve. Between Finsbury Park and Highgate, the path forms part of the Capital Ring.
Crab Creek Road then enters Arbuckle District, where it travels around and through the Chief Cornstalk Wildlife Management Area on its way to Southside, in the Kanawha Valley, following the course of Little Sixteenmile Creek during its descent out of the hills. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 33.6 square miles (87.1 km2), of which, 33.5 square miles (86.8 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.4 km2) of it (0.42%) is water. The town is bordered by the Town of Otego to the West, the Town of Laurens to the Northwest, the Town of Milford to the Northeast, and Delaware County to the South. Otego Creek and Oneonta Creek flow into the Susquehanna River in the town. Interstate 88 follows the course of the Susquehanna River through the town.
Lac Launière has a length of , a width of and its surface is at an altitude of . This lake sunk between the mountains is made in length by more or less marrying the shape of the letter L. Lac Launière receives the discharge from Lac La Giroflée on the east side and the discharge from Lac Frazie on the west side. From the mouth of Lac Launière, the current descends on following the course of the Launière River. Then the current follows the course of the Jacques-Cartier River for generally south to the northeast bank of the St. Lawrence river.

Sign at Lenwade Bridge at Mileplain plantation The A Frame bridge At Norwich the path begins to the north of the Barn Road and Barker Street Inner Ring Road roundabout. Much of this area was part of the former Norwich City railway station. The path which is also known as the Railway Path approximately follows the course of the River Wensum which forms a boundary with the Train Wood. After crossing a footbridge the industrial landscape gives way to the water-meadows of the Sweetbriar Road Meadows before crossing the Wensum over the A frame bridge at Hellesdon.
The river in Arlesey The River Hiz is a small () tributary river in Hertfordshire that feeds the River Ivel that, in turn, feeds the River Great Ouse. Starting at its source of a chalk fed spring just south of the village of Charlton, the river winds its way through the county of Hertfordshire, moving its way into and through Hitchin, where it meets the River Oughton and River Purwell. The Hiz finally meets the River Ivel near the village of Henlow. The Hicca Way, inaugurated in 2012, is a footpath which follows the course of the river.
There are little alluvial deposits in the canyons, and the creek mostly cascades over bedrock. In this upper reach, the pool-and-riffle stream channel structure is evident. There are a few developments within the area, but most of the canyon is too narrow for development, and the only major structure that influences the creek throughout San Juan Canyon is Ortega Highway, which follows the course of the entire canyon. San Juan Canyon viewed from Ortega Highway Leaving its uppermost headwaters, San Juan Creek flows south and west in several meanders, then finally proceeds to flow west-southwest.
Public navigation stops at Brickworks Bridge, but there is a short private dyke beyond. Returning to the junction, the canal heads north to reach Tonnage Bridge. There has been no towpath thus far, but a public footpath follows the left bank as the canal sweeps round to the west, passing the former branch to East Ruston, and then turns north west to reach the derelict Honing Lock.Ordnance Survey, 1:25,000 map From the head of the lock, a footpath leads to the Weavers Way, a long distance footpath which follows the course of the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway at this point.
Roadwater is a linear village, the northern section of which follows the course of the River Washford, in a deep wooded valley. In the centre of the village is a general store with Post Office. Adjacent to the store is the Village Hall and public recreation ground with Children's play area and cricket pitch. The village is on the Coleridge Way footpath which opened in April 2005, and follows the walks taken by poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, over the Quantock and Brendon Hills to Porlock, starting from Coleridge Cottage at Nether Stowey, where he once lived.
Rivière du Nord () is a -long river in the Laurentides region that flows into the Ottawa River. Quebec Autoroute 15 follows the course of the Rivière du Nord valley north of Montréal providing access to many cottages and vacation homes. At Saint- Jérôme, the river turns southwesterly where it continues to its mouth on the left bank of the Ottawa River.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 27.4 square miles (71.0 km2), of which, 26.8 square miles (69.4 km2) of it is land and 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2) of it (2.19%) is water. The west town line is defined by the Hudson River and is the border of Saratoga County, New York. US Route 4 follows the course of the Hudson River along the west side of the town and joins New York Route 197 at Fort Edward village. The Hudson River passes through the northern part of the town.
The parish of Northrepps was reduced in size in 1906, losing land to the parish of Overstrand which lies to the north. The parish boundary to the north-west is with Cromer, to the north-east with Sidestrand. To the west are the boundaries with Felbrigg and Roughton whilst to the south is the parish of Southrepps. At its nearest point the parish is just 500 metres from the coast on the north- eastern boundary, which partly follows the course of the disused Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Railway between Cromer and North Walsham, which closed in 1953.
From the M4 to Cirencester it is a dual carriageway road, which generally follows the course of the Roman road Ermin Way, but dualling work completed in the late 1990s, and the bypass of Cirencester, has taken it off-course in some places. East of Cirencester the A417 continues straight ahead as the major road and the A419 separates through Cirencester and Stroud, becoming mainly single carriageway. West of Cirencester the road loses its primary status; it crosses the M5 at junction 13 close to a former Little Chef restaurant, then finishes further west at a roundabout with the A38.
Sankey Valley follows the course of England's first canal, Sankey Canal, and stretches for from St Helens through Warrington to Widnes. The canal was opened in 1757 to carry coal from the mines around the St Helens area to the markets of Liverpool and Cheshire, it pioneered the canal age. The canal was responsible for shaping the valley, its environment and development from the late 18th century to the early 20th century. With the advent of the railways began the long decline of the canals but the stretch of the Sankey canal that now occupies Sankey Valley Park remained open until 1963.
Fremington railway station in 2008. The Tarka Trail cycle track (also part of the South West Coast Path), which follows the course of the railway from Barnstaple to Torrington, passes over Fremington Pill via the old London and South Western Railway iron bridge (railway line closed 1982; dismantled 1987) at Fremington Quay on the old Barnstaple to Torrington railtrack bed. The original railway was first planned in an Act of Parliament in 1838, and laid in 1846 connecting the Penhill with Barnstaple at a cost of £20 000. A number of boats are moored here (in the Pill).
The Canal latéral à l'Oise is a canal in northern France that, along with the river Oise, connects the Canal de Saint-Quentin at Chauny to the Seine at Conflans-Sainte-Honorine. See under the river Oise for the continuation of the route; the junction is made downstream of the lock at Janville . When a canal is latéral (literally 'running beside'), it follows the course of the river it is named after but in a separate excavated channel. The route described below is the 34 km of canal parallel to the river Oise and 103.5 km of the canalised river Oise.
Both quarries are owned by the Duchy of Cornwall. The northern end of the plateau is crowned by a war memorial to the dead of the nearby village of Stoke-sub-Hamdon killed during the two World Wars and subsequent conflicts. It was designed in 1920 and unveiled in 1923 with four steps which lead to a square plinth and a tapering four-sided obelisk with a flat top. The memorial is clearly visible from the surrounding countryside, including the A303 trunk road which now follows the course of the Fosse Way near the base of the hill.

From a boundary between Wadestown and Thorndon at the northern end of Grant Road, the Wadestown boundary follows a line along Frandi Street and Sar Street, above the Hutt Road to a point below the easternmost extent of Barnard Street. From there, the boundary turns northwest and continues into the Ngaio Gorge to an intersection with Kaiwharawhara Road. It then follows the course of the Kaiwharawhara stream up the Ngaio Gorge to the intersection of Churchill Drive and Blackbridge Road. The boundary then turns south and follows a line along Wilton Road to the intersection with Norwich Street.
South of Barnsdale Bar, the A1 follows the old Roman Road of Ermine Street - north of Barnsdale Bar the A639 follows the course of the Roman Road more closely whilst the A1 follows a more recent route. A number of villages and geological features along this route are mentioned in the early ballads of Robin Hood as being places the outlaw would visit. In Hanging Wood, also known as Highfields Wood, which lies between Hampole and Highfields, a small stream known as Robin Hood's stream springs from underneath the Roman Road and runs into the Pick Burn.
The Batu Uban constituency contains the polling districts of Batu Uban, Bukit Gambir, Bukit Jambol, Minden Heights, Sungai Dua, Taman Jubilee, Taman Pekaka and Universiti Sains. It encompasses the southernmost halve of Gelugor, a suburb of George Town, including Universiti Sains Malaysia and Minden Heights. Surrounding neighbourhoods such as Batu Uban, Sungai Dua, Sungai Nibong and Bukit Jambul are also situated within this state seat. The northern limits of this constituency roughly follows the course of the Gelugor River into the sea, thereby dividing Gelugor into the northern and southern halves (with the northern halve under the neighbouring Seri Delima constituency).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which, of it is land and of it (0.41%) is water. The north town line is defined by the Mohawk River, and the south town line is the border of Schoharie County. In the 20th century, the New York State Thruway was constructed through the north part of the town, following the course of the Mohawk River. New York State Route 5S also follows the course of the Mohawk and intersects New York State Route 162 at Sprakers in the northwest part of Root.
From Melton Mowbray, the canal headed broadly eastwards, following the valley of the River Eye, keeping to its north and east bank to reach Wyfordby. The railway, when it was built, followed a much more direct route due east to Wyfordby. The track from San Pablo to Orinda follows much of the route of the San Pablo Dam Road through El Sobrante. The Santa Fe line between Richmond and Oakland was abandoned by the Santa Fe in the early 1980s when the Santa Fe obtained trackage rights into Oakland via Southern Pacific Railroad's parallel line to the west. Today, the Ohlone Greenway runs along the original California & Nevada right-of-way between El Cerrito Del Norte Station and Albany. A bicycle path follows the course of the tracks while a BART aerial line runs along the western edge, within the old right-of way.

The Rio Grande rift has been an important site for humans for a long time, because it provides a north–south route that follows a major river. The Rio Grande follows the course of the rift from southern Colorado to El Paso, where it turns southeast and flows toward the Gulf of Mexico. The Taunus Railway (German: Taunus-Eisenbahn) is a double-track electrified railway line, which connects Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, Germany. It is 41.2 km long and follows the course of the Main on its north side, running quite close to it in some places. Its first stage was opened in September 1839 and is thus the oldest railway line in the German state of Hesse and one of the oldest in Germany. Today it is used by Regional-Express trains between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden and the trains of line S1 of the Rhine-Main S-Bahn between Frankfurt-Höchst and Wiesbaden.
The line followed a south and then south-easterly route between Ledbury railway station and Gloucester Central railway station, it joined the Gloucester to Newport Line at Over Junction.Stan Yorke, Lost Railways of Gloucestershire, 2009, Stations were constructed at Ledbury Town Halt, Greenway Halt, Dymock, Four Oaks Halt, Newent, Malswick Halt and Barbers Bridge. An interesting skew bridge that carried the line across Hereford Road in Ledbury remains in use as part of the Ledbury Town Trail footpath. Passenger services are now provided by the 132 bus which follows the course of the railway for much of its route.
Some 100 km east of Ceylanpınar, the border passes the border town of Nusaybin in the Turkish Mardin Province (ancient Nisibis, the birthplace of Ephraim the Syrian), next to Syrian Qamishli. The Syrian Aleppo Governorate has a long northern boundary with the Turkish Kilis, Gaziantep, and Şanlıurfa provinces. On the Turkish side, the European route E90 runs alongside the length of the border, crossing the Euphrates at Birecik and the Tigris at Cizre. For the final 30 km the border follows the course of the Tigris, turning towards the south-east, until it reaches the Iraq-Syria- Turkey tripoint at .
Map of the Liberty Highway From Binghamton to Corning, NY 17 follows the course of the Great Bend and Bath Turnpike, which was legislated in 1808 to continue the Cochecton and Great Bend Turnpike (US 11) through the Susquehanna Valley. The road ran from the Pennsylvania state line at Great Bend through Binghamton, Owego, and Elmira to Bath. In its day, it was a major route of travel through the Susquehanna Valley. Today, the road is designated US 11 from Pennsylvania to Binghamton, then NY 17C to Waverly, NY 352 into Corning, and NY 415 to Bath.

It was extended to 29 km at Plenty in 1887, and then to 41 km at Glenora in 1888. It closely follows the course of the River Derwent for the first 39 km as far as Coniston, and crosses the river at three different points.
Upper Malta valley looking towards Kölnbrein Dam and Ankogel massif The Maltatal () is a valley in the High Tauern mountain range of the Central Eastern Alps. It follows the course of the Malta river down towards its confluence with the Lieser, itself a left tributary of the Drava. Most of the area belongs to the municipality of Malta in Carinthia, Austria. The upper Maltatal ends at the Kölnbrein Dam east of the Ankogel Group, from where the Malta stream flows southeastwards about down along the mountains of the Reisseck Group to Gmünd and into the Lieser river.
Arch of Gallienus - Piranesi It still stands in the Via San Vito, the ancient Clivus Suburanus – the sequel, the Via S. Martino ai Monti, follows the course of the ancient Argiletum, the main road to the Roman Forum. Already in the Augustan period the Porta Esquilina was taken as included in the Esquiline Forum, which included the market called the Macellum Liviae. When these buildings were abandoned in late antiquity, the diaconia and monastery of San Vito took them over, as recorded in the Einsiedeln Itinerary. It is this church against which the arch's remains now rest.
In the part of its course where it delimits the southern zone of the basin of the Salar of Pipanaco, its bed is at about the same level as the salar. In the event of significant rising of the streams of the salar, this last can overflow and send its water surplus into the Río Abaucán, contributing greatly to its salinity. The opposite interaction can also occur. The important trunk road Route National 60, which connects Córdoba to Chile through the Paso de San Francisco, elevation , follows the course of the Río Abaucán for almost its entire length.
The most direct route heads directly west up a steep ridge, but a more comfortable route follows a well built footpath above the north side of the waterfall. Above the waterfall, the fast flowing Tail Burn must be crossed to avoid a long detour; although there are plenty of natural stepping stones, spate or icy conditions may make their use dangerous. From across the stream, the best route through the peat and heather follows the course of a wall leading to the summit of Upper Tarnberry. From there, the east ridge, which is steep and craggy in places, leads to the broad summit.
The Metro Parks, Serving Summit County is a park district that manages over 11,000 acres in Summit County, including 14 developed parks, six conservation areas and more than 125 miles of trails including the 33.5 mile Hike and Bike Trail which follows the course of the old Akron, Bedford and Cleveland Railroad. The Freedom Trail is currently being constructed and is similar to the Hike and Bike Trail. It will follow a former rail corridor west from Ravenna through Kent in Portage County and hookup with the Towpath Trail and the Hike and Bike Trail in Summit County.
The Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail in Summit County follows the course of the former Ohio and Erie Canal. When the trail is fully complete, it will stretch about 100 miles from Downtown Cleveland in Cuyahoga County, though the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Summit County, Stark County and end in New Philadelphia in Tuscarawas County. In 2011, Summit County became the first of the counties to complete their section of the Towpath Trail stretching 33.4 miles from the Portage Lakes in the southern portion of the county, through the suburbs and downtown Akron, and finally through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Just north of Waterville is the site of the Battle of Fallen Timbers of 1794. General Anthony Wayne after, constructing a trail from Fort Wayne to (Fort) Defiance, fought and defeated an Indian consortium, thus opening northern Ohio to white settlement. At a point on the Toledo's north side US 24 veers from northeast–southwest to true north–south, turning on to Telegraph Road, while Detroit Avenue continues as a city street that connects to M-125 (Dixie Highway) at the Michigan border. The path through Toledo of US 24 follows the course of old US 25, old US 25 being farther away from the course of north–south I-75.
Two highways run through Cooper District. West Virginia Route 2, locally known as the Clarksburg Road, passes through the district from west to east, between Point Pleasant, at the mouth of the Kanawha, and Ravenswood, in Jackson County. West Virginia Route 62 follows the Kanawha River to Point Pleasant along the southern part of Cooper District, locally known as Charleston Road, then follows the course of the Ohio River north, passing through the northwestern part of the district, where it is known as Graham Station Road. Other important routes include Sand Hill Road, which runs through the middle of the county between Point Pleasant and Letart.
183x183px Road: In 1770 the road from Cuckfield to Brighton across St John's Common was turnpiked. The A23 bypasses the town to the west, and joins up with the south end of the A273. The A273 follows the course of Jane Murray Way, directing traffic around the town centre and north on Isaac's Lane to Haywards Heath, or south through Hassocks on London Road. The A272 road runs north of Burgess Hill, from Winchester to near Uckfield. The B2112 runs east of Burgess Hill, going north–south, and both the B2036 and the B2113 pass through the town heading north–south and west-east respectively.
That use came to an end in May 1995, when the Lower Canal was drained and replaced by an underground pipeline from Prospect Reservoir to Pipehead, thus leaving the community with the chance to gain a spectacular parcel of land for recreational purposes. The pipeline increased the dependability, water quality and amount of water flow from Prospect to Pipehead. The Lower Canal was made into a public reserve in 1998 which follows the course of the former canal. The reserve has survived the intense urban development that surrounds it, due to its use, for over 100 years, as part of the water supply system for Sydney.

The city is primarily within Wayne County, but a portion of the city lies in Monroe County, because the border along the Huron River follows the course of the river in 1923, the year Flat Rock was incorporated as a village. At the time, the river had two meanders, but they have since been filled in. Flat Rock has a higher overall tornado average than the state of Michigan as a whole, and a 40% greater average than the United States as a whole.
Clwyd is in the northeastern corner of Wales. It is bounded by the Irish Sea to the north, the Welsh preserved counties of Gwynedd to the west and Powys to the south, and the English ceremonial counties of Shropshire and Cheshire to the southeast and east respectively; much of the eastern boundary follows the course of the River Dee and its estuary. Other large rivers in the area include the River Alyn, a tributary of the Dee, the River Clwyd and the River Conwy in the west. The northern coastal strip is heavily developed for tourism and has many resorts, including Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Colwyn, Abergele, Rhyl and Prestatyn.

As it applies to modern languages, Franconian is somewhat variable in meaning. It can refer to a West Germanic dialect continuum spoken in the Rhineland, including Dutch at one end and all the transitional dialects between Dutch and standard German, including it, which do not fully participate in the High German consonant shift or German diphthongization of long vowels. This area follows the course of the Benrath and Speyer lines, a zone along which the two changes occurred along with other diagnostic changes. From a linguistics point of view the Rhineland is an intermediate zone where the Rhenish Fan is located, a zone where eight isoglosses converge.
Passing through the stations of Ebing, Zapfendorf, Ebensfeld (where in future the high-speed line to Erfurt will form a junction) and Bad Staffelstein, the line reaches Lichtenfels. From Lichtenfels station the line follows the course of the Main as far as Mainleus. In Hochstadt- Marktzeuln the Franconian Forest Railway to Ludwigsstadt and Saalfeld turns off; and at Kulmbach the railway from Thurnau and Bayreuth branches off only a few metres away from where the Schlömener curve link line meets it. Beyond this, the line runs up the Schiefe Ebene to Marktschorgast station, from the end of which it becomes single-tracked as far as Stammbach.
The Valchiavenna is an alpine region located to the north of Lake Como in the northern Italian province of Sondrio (Lombardy). It is traversed by the rivers Mera and Liro, and can be divided into three parts which branch from the confluence of these rivers near Chiavenna, the principal town of the region. The lower part, the Bassa Valchiavenna, follows the course of the Mera downstream through the Piano di Chiavenna to Lago di Mezzola, and continues across the Pian di Spagna to Trivio di Fuentes near Colico. Its territitory lies within the comuni of Mese, Prata Camportaccio, Gordona, Samolaco, Novate Mezzola and Verceia.
The A66 is a major road in Northern England, which in part follows the course of the Roman road from Scotch Corner to Penrith.Map of Roman Roads in Britain It runs from east of Middlesbrough in the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire to Workington in Cumbria. It is anomalously numbered since west of Penrith it trespasses into numbering zone 5; this is because it originally terminated at the A6 in Penrith but was extended further west in order to create one continuous east–west route. Most of what is now the A66 west of Penrith was originally A594 – only a small stub of this road numbering remains, from Maryport to Cockermouth.
The Water of Leith Walkway is a mixed-use trail that follows the course of the river for from Balerno to Leith. Excepting the shoreline of the Firth of Forth, Edinburgh is encircled by a green belt, designated in 1957, which stretches from Dalmeny in the west to Prestongrange in the east. With an average width of the principal objectives of the green belt were to contain the outward expansion of the city and to prevent the agglomeration of urban areas. Expansion affecting the green belt is strictly controlled but developments such as Edinburgh Airport and the Royal Highland Showground at Ingliston lie within the zone.

Route 3 roughly follows the course of the Paterson and New York Plank Road (more commonly known as the Paterson Plank Road) legislated in 1851 to run from Paterson to a ferry at Hoboken. The portion of this road running east from Passaic was legislated as an unnumbered state route in 1926. In the 1927 New Jersey state highway renumbering, Route 3 was legislated to run from the New York border on the west shore of Greenwood Lake to Route 1 (now US 1/9) in Secaucus.
The sandstone cliffs of Dura Den Dura Den is a small, 3 km-long wooded gorge that is located near Cupar in northeastern Fife, Scotland. This narrow cleft follows a course between the villages of Kemback to the north and Pitscottie to the south. A small stream, named the Ceres (or Kame) Burn, follows the course of this gorge and this flow includes small waterfalls near the midpoint. Historically the Ceres Burn was used to power jute spinning mills Around 1859, the geologist and Newburgh minister John Anderson discovered what turned out to be extensive sandstone deposits of ganoid fossilized fish in this area.
The Velabrum is the low valley in the city of Rome that connects the Forum with the Forum Boarium, and the Capitoline Hill with the western slope of the Palatine Hill. It was believed that before the construction of the Cloaca Maxima, which probably follows the course of an ancient stream, the area was a swamp, though this claim has been disproven by core samples taken from Velabrum in 1994. Ancient authorities state that in this marshy area the roots of a fig tree (Ficus Ruminalis) caught and stopped the basket carrying Romulus and Remus as it floated along on the Tiber current. The place therefore has a high symbolic significance.
Additionally in recent years, archaeologists discovered a Roman travellers' resting place on the site of the present-day Cold Harbour pub a mile or so away from the 'northern expansion', and the A419 main road through Blunsdon also follows the course of a Roman road known as Ermine Street that linked the historic towns of Cirencester and Silchester. The recent Roman find at Groundwell Ridge Abbey Meads within the 'Northern Expansion' is believed to be a religious and ceremonial site. Blunsdon Abbey was a prominent landmark in the area and inspired the title of the Abbey Meads development. The name 'Priory Vale' follows this monastic theme.
The Pencaitland to Ormiston railway walk follows the course of the Edinburgh - Gifford branch railway line, originally built by the Gifford and Garvald Light Railway Company in 1901, which was closed in 1965. Pencaitland is also the location of recording studio Castle Sound Studios, founded by producer Calum Malcolm in 1979 and sited in a building which formerly housed Pencaitland Primary School until it moved to an area known as The Glebe in the 1970s. The band Orange Juice recorded their first two singles for the Postcard Records label at Castle Sound. Simple Minds, Runrig, REM, Martyn Bennett and The Blue Nile have also recorded there.
In the run-up to the anniversary of the attacks, both the New York Times and Entertainment Weekly, named the documentary to their top 10 lists of shows to watch in commemoration of the terror attacks. Highlighted in the documentary is Alan Jackson's performance of his post-9/11 song, "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)". The documentary also featured how pop culture was changed and influenced by the events of 9/11, such as the creation of the play 110 Stories, a "docu-play" which follows the course of the day as seen through the lives of ordinary people who lived through it.
Sometimes what the legislature wishes to accomplish cannot be done simply by the passage of a bill, but rather requires amending the Constitution. A bill or joint resolution is accordingly drafted to propose an appropriate amendment to the Constitution. Connecting the east of Bordeaux (Libourne) to Greater Lyon, the A89 motorway (called "La transversale") irrigates the eastern part of the region, facilitating travel between the cities of Bordeaux and Périgueux, Brive-la-Gaillarde, Tulle and Ussel. A little further south, the D936, which roughly follows the course of the Dordogne, is grafted on the Bordeaux ring road via an interchange at the municipalities of Cenon and Floirac. It gives access to the towns of Branne, Castillon-la-Bataille and Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (Gironde) and Bergerac (Dordogne). Southeast of Bordeaux, an exchanger arranged at the ring road in the municipality of Gradignan allows access to the A62, western part "Entre- Deux-Mers" motorway.
This realigned the canal to the south of its former course; the locks here are still referred to – without irony – as "The New 'Uns" by traditional boaters, and the term has been passed on to a new generation of canal users. After Kings Langley and Apsley – the site of more former paper mills – the canal passes the town Hemel Hempstead and Boxmoor Common. From here the canal follows the course of the River Bulbourne through Bourne End with the well-known swingbridge at Winkwell, and the "Port of Berkhamsted, a small compact town". At Cow Roast Lock the canal reaches the 3-mile (5-km) summit at Tring in the Chiltern hills, having risen through 54 locks since Brentford.
Gunnislake () is a large village in east Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated in the Tamar Valley approximately ten miles (16 km) north of PlymouthOrdnance Survey: Landranger map sheet 201 Plymouth & Launceston Gunnislake is in the civil parish of Calstock and is close to Cornwall's border with Devon which follows the course of the River Tamar. It has an electoral ward in its own name which includes much of Calstock and the surrounding area. The population at the 2011 census was 4,574 According to an OCSI report, of the total population, 562 (18.2%) are children, making up a larger proportion of the population than across Cornwall and Isles of Scilly (17.3%).
Highway 10X highlighted in red Highway 10X bridge over Rosebud River (one of nine) Highway 10X is a spur of Highway 10 that runs for , connecting Wayne with Highway 10. Following the amalgamation of the former City of Drumheller with the Municipal District of Badlands No. 7 on January 1, 1998, the entire highway falls within the Town of Drumheller. The road follows the course of the Rosebud River through a 100-150 m deep canyon. Nine bridges lead the road from one side of the river to the other, and most of the bridges are paralleled by railroad bridges of a presently abandoned track that used to cart coal from the Wayne mine.
Lilydale station is the terminus for the Lilydale railway line offering half hourly metropolitan rail services. It is due to be rebuilt as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project Railway CrossingA bus station and taxi rank operates from the railway station servicing many of Melbourne's far eastern suburbs. Lilydale has segregated bicycle facilities including the start of the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail which follows the course of the Lilydale-Warburton railway line which was built in 1901 but closed in 1964. Coldstream Airport is located approximately 5 km north east in Coldstream which has a sealed, all-weather strip to service the area with recreation, charter and fire bombing flying facilities for the local community.
Palma is only a ten-minute drive by car and is connected to Puigpunyent through the only existing gap in the valley that follows the course of the river Sa Riera. Most of the population that makes up the municipality of Puigpunyent and its surrounding area is in the village of Galilea which is found at an elevation of 550 metres above sea level and is only four kilometres from Puigpunyent. Galilea is a magical place of great beauty that was once predominantly an agricultural centre and is now mainly residential. With a population of around 200 inhabitants, it has medieval origins and fabulous views over the migjorn side and the sea.
A tributary joins the stream on its left bank, flowing south from Decoy Pond, a large pond within the AWE site. This particular area, identified on maps as Roundwood Copse, is also an SSSI, known as Decoy Pit, Pools and Woods, which covers an area of and consists of multiple habitats, including grassland, heathland, woodland and small waterbodies. It is notable because it contains more species of breeding dragonfly and damselfly than anywhere else in Berkshire, and also includes rare Alder woodland. Further east the stream is joined by another small stream on its right bank, rising from springs in Roundwood Gulley, and passes under Soke Road, which at that point briefly follows the course of a Roman road.
The river rises as two main streams to the north of Huthwaite, above the contour,Ordnance Survey, 1:25,000 map on the coal measures that run along the western edge of Nottinghamshire. Both are crossed by dismantled railway lines, before they unite and flow in a north-easterly direction to the north of Stanton Hill and Skegby. After crossings by two more redundant railways, the river is joined by a stream which flows from the Car Ponds on the edge of the Hardwick Hall estate. The county boundary between Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire follows the course of the stream, and continues along the river as it passes to the south of Pleasley and under the A617 road.
The walks can be entered from various points along Burma and Tanner Roads, but the main entry is from lower down Ross Creek at Glenleith. A further track links the reserve with a walkway which follows the course of the Water of Leith past a former quarry to link with tracks which run through Woodhaugh Gardens at the mouth of the Leith Valley to the southeast. Notable features of the reserve — other than the reservoir — include a waterfall which cascades some into School Creek. Though these falls appear completely natural, they were created by the diversion of Ross Creek to form the reservoir, and now carry waters from the creek's flood channel.
Paraguay borders on three substantially larger countries: Bolivia, Brazil, and Argentina. The definition of the northwestern boundary with Bolivia, extending through the low hills of the Chaco region, dates from 1938. The boundary between the Chaco and Brazil was defined in 1927; it continues from the confluence of the Apa River (Río Apa) and Paraguay River northward along the course of the Río Paraguay to the border with Bolivia. The northern border of the Paraneña region, set in 1872, follows the course of the Paraná River (Río Paraná), the ridges of the mountains in the northeast region, and finally the course of the Apa River until it empties into the Paraguay River.
The Straddle Warehouse, Victoria Quays (formerly the Sheffield Basin), Sheffield City Centre The River Don Navigation ended at Tinsley Wharf, but it forms a convenient place to start a description of the route. The wharf was on the river, just upstream from the present junction with the canal to Sheffield. It was close to the site of the Meadowhall Shopping Centre and the Tinsley Viaduct, which carries the M1 motorway over the valley of the River Don. From here there is a towpath along the canal to Victoria Quays (formerly Sheffield Basin) in Sheffield City Centre,Ordnance Survey, 1:50,000 map or the Five Weirs Walk follows the course of the River Don to the same destination.
The Big River rises below the ski resort at Falls Creek in the Alpine National Park, on the northern slopes of Spion Kopje at an elevation of above sea level. The river flows north off Spion Kopje, then east in the valley between Spion Kopje and Victoria's highest peak, Mount Bogong, separating Mount Bogong itself from the Bogong High Plains. The river then flows south-southeast, forming the eastern edge of the national park, before turning southward near the Omeo Highway crossing around Glen Valley, north of Anglers Rest. The Omeo Highway then closely follows the course of the Big River until the point where the Bundara River enters it, about north of Anglers Rest.
One of these follows the course of the stream from the northern end of Woodhaugh Gardens to connect with the Ross Creek tracks, passing as it does a major weir (the Boulder Trap) which was put in to prevent a repeat of the major flooding of the Leith in the early 20th century. The walkway also passes the remains of the former Woodhaugh Quarry, which operated until 1949. The sides of the Leith Valley are notably steep, especially in the area around the start of Rockside Road (also the location of the confluence of the Ross Creek and Leith). At this point, steep cliffs flank the valley, and nearby the Ross Creek passes through a narrow canyon.
The county boundary follows the A1 from the River Went to Barnsdale Bar, which is the southernmost point of North Yorkshire. Close by to the southwest is the Roman Ridge, a Roman road, known in the Middle Ages as Watling Street, closely follows the course of the modern-day A639. It was at one time, prior to modern construction works being completed, possible to look down from the Saylis upon Watling Street as it snaked through the village of Wentbridge and it is upon this stretch of highway that Robin Hood and his Merry Men are believed to have committed their famous heists. Earlier historians have usually assumed that this district was heavily wooded.
Two Gravity Trails have been opened at Thredbo in the past 510 years, the Kosciuszko Flow Trail and the All Mountain Train offering a more varied level of riding from the technical Cannonball. The All Mountain Trail connects the National Parks and Wildlife Service installed Thredbo Valley Track, which follows the course of the Thredbo River from Thredbo Village through Ranger Station, Ngarigo Campgrounds and the Diggings Campgrounds to terminate at Lake Crackenback Resort. The Thredbo Mountain- cross track, designed by Glen Jacobs, an Australian trail expert, opened in 2005. It is situated on Friday Flat and comprises a start gate, multiple doubles, rollers, berms, moguls, gaps, step-downs and step-ups.
The brook rises in the hills just east of West Wickham in Cambridgeshire, only half a mile to the south of the source of the River Stour. It flows east for around ⅔ of a mile (1 km) before crossing into Suffolk and turning south east. It passes alongside the parish church of St Mary at Withersfield, before continuing to Haverhill, where it follows the course of the former railway track through the town centre, though a portion of it has been culverted. It then passes the old railway station at Sturmer and flows into the River Stour only 50 yards or so after it has begun to mark the border between Essex and Suffolk.
An aromatic herb garden sits just northeast of the vegetable garden, this section is devoted to fragrant herbs and flowers that are known for their pungent smells, providing a diverse olfactory display as visitors also meander through the medicinal herbs section to the plot dedicated to culinary growing. A friendship garden, maintained by volunteers, provides a home for a variety of seasonal plants, and two small greenhouses here house a cactus and succulent plant collection. Finally, the Train Garden features miniature buildings made of botanical materials in a layout of the City of New Orleans. Visitors walk a pathway that follows the course of the Mississippi River and other bodies of water surrounding the city.
The Tissington Trail, a popular recreational walk and cycle path, starts at Mappleton Lane on the northern outskirts of town, accessed by a large Victorian tunnel about 380 yards long from the site of the former railway station. It follows the course of the former Ashbourne to Buxton railway through the village of Tissington and joins the High Peak Trail (the old Cromford and High Peak Railway) at Parsley Hay. Construction of the Ashbourne to Buxton line commenced in 1896. Passenger services started to Buxton in August 1899 after the building of a joint railway station to serve both the London and North Western Railway (LNWR) and North Staffordshire Railway (NSR) lines.
Six additional named peaks also loom over Hope Valley: Hawkins Peak () and Pickett Peak () to the southeast, in the corner formed by the river's eastward bend; Red Lake Peak () and Stevens Peak () to the southwest, guarding the north side of Carson Pass; and Waterhouse Peak () and Thompson Peak () flanking both sides of Luther Pass to the northwest. Hope Valley is well connected to the California state highway network. California State Route 88 follows the course of the valley from southwest to northeast, extending further westward over Carson Pass and northeastward down Woodfords Canyon toward the Carson Valley. State Route 89 enters the valley through Luther Pass to the north, and intersects SR 88 at Pickett's Junction.
Route 51 between Colchester and Wivenhoe The banks of the Colne frequently incorporate pillboxes dating from the Second World War, particularly close to navigable crossings. From Castle Park to Wivenhoe Railway Station, National Cycle Network Route 51 roughly follows the course of the Colne. This is a mixture of tarmac-surfaced shared-use paths, a short tarmac/gravel-surfaced area and, once out of the urban area of Colchester, a hard dirt path on the north levee of the river that passes the Hythe and the university all the way to Wivenhoe. The Hythe area of Colchester, through which the Colne flows, was, from Roman times, a small port that supplied the town.

The station was one of the shortest lived stations in the United Kingdom opening on 22 September 1834 and closing less than two months later on 10 November 1834. The opening of the station coincided with the opening of the line but on 31 October 1834 the directors of the company "Ordered stopping places at Cross Gates and Roman Road be abandoned from 8th November next." The fares from Roman Road to were 2/-shillings, firstclass, and 1/- second class.
On reaching the valley, it reverts again to single carriageway and through the village of Chicklade, before following the terrain over to Mere, where it runs north of the town as another dual carriageway bypass. Continuing west, it passes south of Wincanton and then north of Sparkford to a roundabout where the road reverts once more to single carriageway. The western end of the A303 is a lower standard of road through the Blackdown Hills The road then bypasses Ilchester and RNAS Yeovilton and widens to dual carriageway again. Between Ilchester and Shores Bridge (over the River Parrett, east of South Petherton) the road follows the course of the Roman Fosse Way.
The Upper Weser Valley begins near Hann. Münden, where the rivers Werra and Fulda join to form the Weser and follows the course of the Upper Weser northwards through the Weser Uplands to Bodenwerder, then continues in a northwestern direction, south of the Süntel hills and the Weser Hills, and ends finally at the great gap of Porta Westfalica, where the Weser breaks through the Wiehen and Weser Hills out into the North German Plain. In the south the Upper Weser Valley crosses the Solling-Vogler Nature Park and, in the north, the Weser Uplands Schaumburg- Hamelin Nature Park. At its northern end, the Upper Weser Valley is followed by the Middle Weser Valley, part of the Middle Weser Region.
The four burials excavated near South Great George's Street were also associated with domestic habitations, suggesting that the deceased had been members of a settled Norse community and not the fatalities suffered by a transient raiding party. Late in the 9th century a large metalled road was laid down in the middle of the Temple Bar West site, connecting it with the Liffey.Simpson, Linzi, Director's Findings (1999), Temple Bar Archaeological Series No. 5, Dublin. It is also thought that South Great George's Street follows the course of an early medieval route – or possibly even the eastern boundary of a longphort, assuming that there was a naval encampment along the eastern shore of the Black Pool at some stage in the settlement's early history.
Route S-28 stamp on the side of Route 18 over Westons Mill Pond Route 18 partly follows the course of the Middlesex and Matawan Turnpike (commonly called the Old Bridge Turnpike), legislated in 1863 to run from the south branch of the Raritan River to Matawan. The alignment of Route 18 through Middlesex County from Middlesex to Highland Park was first designated in the 1927 designing of a new highway system as State Highway Route S-29, a prefixed spur of New Jersey Route 29 (U.S. Route 22) through Middlesex County. The route followed Washington Avenue in Middlesex and the River Road in Piscataway until terminating at State Highway Route 27 near the Albany Street Bridge in Highland Park.
Route 28 follows the course of the Tuckaraming Trail, and old Lenape Trail that later became the Old York Road, the main road from New York City to Philadelphia. In 1917, Route 9 was designated by the state of New Jersey to run from Phillipsburg east to Elizabeth, passing through Clinton, Somerville, Plainfield, and Westfield. With the establishment of the U.S. Highway System in 1926, U.S. Route 22 was concurrently designated along the entire length of Route 9. A year later, in the 1927 New Jersey state highway renumbering, Route 28 was legislated to run from Phillipsburg east to the Goethals Bridge, replacing pre-1927 Route 9 between Phillipsburg and present-day Route 439 in Elizabeth, and following current Route 439 toward the Goethals Bridge.

The northern boundary follows the course of the Thames River except where carveouts have extended the boundaries of Ingersoll and Woodstock into former township lands. At Beachville, the northern boundary includes a small carveout north of the river to include all of the village's developed area within South-West Oxford. Similarly, a carveout on the township's southern boundary transferred former township lands to Tillsonburg.

However, as of June 2006, the A12 now follows the course of the new single carriageway Southern Relief Road that joins the original A12 at Lowestoft bascule bridge. A further impediment is the harbour bridge, which has three lanes, the centre lane operating as a one-way addition to whichever direction of flow is deemed greater. The presence of these bridge choke points can cause serious disruption to north–south trunk traffic, especially when local traffic is added during rush hours. An adequate bypass for Lowestoft would need to be well to the west, even to the west of Oulton Broad (the body of water), and its route would have to consider the great areas of marshland in that area.
The area surrounding Cherry Springs State Park has been a wilderness for much of its history. A bridle path was cut through the woods in 1806–1807, and was widened to accommodate wagons in 1812. (Modern Pennsylvania Route 44, which passes through the park, follows the course of this path between Jersey Shore and Coudersport.) In 1818 the Ceres Land Company, which owned much of the land in Potter County and sought to open the area to settlement, hired an early settler, Jonathan Edgcomb, to build a tavern or hotel for travelers at the site of the park. The hotel was in a very remote location south of Coudersport, and its visitors were few, occasional wandering travelers or Native Americans.
Parkland Walk The Parkland Walk is a linear green pedestrian and cycle route in London, which follows the course of the railway line that used to run between Finsbury Park and Alexandra Palace, through Stroud Green, Crouch End, Highgate and Muswell Hill. It is often mistakenly described as 4.5 miles long, but even taking in the gap between the two sections it still only totals 3.1-miles (5.0km). The route follows the bridges and cuttings of the line, but avoids the closed surface section of Highgate station and its adjoining tunnels, which are closed to walkers for safety reasons. The walk is almost all in Haringey, but a short stretch between Crouch Hill and Crouch End Hill is in Islington, and this section incorporates Crouch Hill Park.
Route 17 follows the course of the Haginsack Trail, an old Lenape Trail running north from what is now Newark to Suffern, New York, and possibly beyond. The Franklin Turnpike was legislated in 1806 to run from Hackensack north to the New York state line at Suffern. This road was incorporated into two auto trails: the Liberty Highway, signed in 1918 to run from Cleveland, Ohio, to New York City; and the West Shore Route, which ran from New York City to Albany. Both routes followed the same roads in New Jersey, coming in from Suffern, along the Franklin Turnpike, Paramus Road and Passaic Avenue, and local roads through Teaneck and Englewood before taking a ferry at Englewood Cliffs to New York.
Bar Hill and Twechar with Kilsyth and Croy in the background The eastern end of the canal is connected to the River Forth by a stretch of the River Carron near Grangemouth. The canal roughly follows the course of the Roman Antonine Wall and was the biggest infrastructure project in Scotland since then. The highest section of the canal passes close to Kilsyth and it is fed there by an aqueduct which gathers water from (the purpose built) Birkenburn Reservoir in the Kilsyth Hills, stored in another purpose-built reservoir called Townhead near Banton, from where it feeds the canal via a feeder from the Shawend Burn near Craigmarloch. The canal continues past Twechar, through Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs to the Maryhill area north of Glasgow city centre.
This section of road parallels several rivers and water bodies, including the Squamish River, the Cheakamus River, and Daisy Lake, which flow south toward Howe Sound. In Whistler, near Alta Lake, the road crosses a watershed, and north of this point, the road follows the Green River and Lillooet River which flow north and east toward Lillooet Lake, and ultimately towards the Fraser River. After passing Lillooet Lake, the highway climbs a steep grade to Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, and shortly after passes through Cayoosh Pass, the highest point on the highway at . East of the pass the road follows the course of Cayoosh Creek as it traverses the southern base of Mount Rohr and skirts Duffey Lake Provincial Park.
The astronomical work of Governor Brisbane at the site can still be seen in the remains of the observatory and the marker trees, and represents the commencement of Australian scientific endeavour and the start of a process during which Australia developed a world renowned reputation for scientific research and discovery. The road ways and their layouts reflect the natural topography of the area including the River Road which follows the course of the Parramatta River and their alignments have remained substantially unchanged since the 1880s. The roads are likely to have beneath them substantial remains of older road surfaces, culverts and retaining walls. The roadways within the Park also have a park-land ambience which separate them from the busy roads surrounding the Park.
The Burke-Gilman Trail borders Matthews Beach Park on the west and follows the course of the old Northern Pacific Railway line, originally of Judge Burke and Daniel Gilman's Seattle, Lake Shore and Eastern Railway (c. 1886). The low-lying areas of the park and adjacent neighborhood is a former wetland which surrounded the mouth of Thornton Creek. As with nearby Magnuson Park at Sand Point, most of the wetland disappeared when the Army Corps of Engineers lowered the lake in 1916 by building the Montlake Cut and the Lake Washington Ship Canal. The area south of the main beach was the site of Pan American World Airways' offices and the dock for Pan Am’s Boeing "Clipper Ships"--the world’s first commercial air transports over ocean.
Visitors to the church, which is normally open during the day, can pick up a free guide leaflet pointing out features of interest. There are more details on the church website, and a page for family historians with some records of burials and baptisms at the church (not complete) and information about where to find others. Today, the ecclesiastical parish boundary meanders north of the village along the Guzzlebrook stream and extends south through the village, bounded on the eastern side by Watery Lane, Seal Chart, and Ash Platt Road to the west. It follows the course of Park Lane, Chance Wood, Grove Road, through Godden Green, bounded at the south by the junction of Bitchet Green Road at Fawke Common.
For much of its route, the Downs Link follows the course of two dismantled railways - the Cranleigh Line and the Steyning Line - both of which closed in the 1960s as a result of the Beeching Axe. Between 1965 and 1970 the track was lifted and much of the track ballast was removed. The coppiced woodland along many of the cuttings and embankment sides remained unmanaged until 2 April 1970 when ownership of much of the track was sold by the British Railways Board to Surrey County Council and Hambleton Rural District Council (which became Waverley Borough Council in 1974) for £17,500. The local authorities managed the land until 1984, clearing scrub to allow the general public to use it as a recreational facility.
The main north-south routes through the district include West Virginia Route 2, County Road 21, and Interstate 77. Route 2 runs from Point Pleasant to Ravenswood; it enters Jackson County near Mount Alto, and follows the course of the Ohio River through the district, passing through Mount Alto, Millwood, Ripley Landing, and Pleasant View. County Road 21 forms most of the eastern boundary of the district, running between Charleston and Parkersburg, and passing through Fairplain, Ripley, and The Y. South of Ripley, it is known locally as the Charleston Road, while north of Ripley it becomes the Parkersburg Road. Interstate 77 also travels between Charleston and Parkersburg, but its course is further to the west; there are exits at Fairplain, Ripley, and Silverton.
Moral is a 1982 Filipino drama film directed by Marilou Diaz-Abaya and written by Ricky Lee. It is the second in a loose trilogy of feminist films directed by Diaz-Abaya and written by Lee which discuss women's issues, along with Brutal (1980) and Karnal (1983). Set in contemporary times in the Philippines, the film stars Lorna Tolentino, Gina Alajar, Sandy Andolong, and Anna Marin as a group of friends and follows the course of their lives over the course of several years after they graduate from college. A "loosely structured, observational drama", the film discusses several topics that Diaz-Abaya and Lee saw as taboo at the time, such as abortion, rape, and gender inequality in the context of the changing morals of the time.
The Hockhocking Adena Bikeway is a multi-use asphalt trail with its main hub (mile marker 0) at the Athens Community Center on East State Street. The trail extends northwest to Robbins' Crossing and Hocking College in Nelsonville and on to the Rocky Brands complex near the Public Square, and approximately further east along East State Street and US Route 50 to South Canaan Road (Athens County Road 24A). Access points with parking are located at mile 4 at the West State Street Park, mile 10.2 off Rt. 682 in The Plains, and mile 16.4 at Robbins' Crossing and Hocking College. The trail, which generally follows the course of the Hocking River, provides access to the East State Street commercial areas, Ohio University's campus (at South Green and Peden Stadium), The Plains, and Hocking College.
Cerrito de las Minas was a small outpost situated in the northeastern extremity of the Chajoma kingdom, apparently to control the route to and from Baja Verapaz to the north. A modern road follows the course of a colonial road that was probably also an important route in the Late Preclassic. The site consists of a single small pyramid measuring sat on top of a steep sided cone of volcanic ash, with some small house terraces extending some of the way down the side. A dozen house platforms are situated on a promontory immediately to the north but the group has not been investigated and it is likely that it is the remains of a post-Conquest settlement due to its open layout and absence of pyramids or a ballcourt.
The ascending palatine artery arises close to the origin of the facial artery and passes up between the styloglossus and stylopharyngeus to the side of the pharynx along which it is continued between the superior pharyngeal constrictor and the medial pterygoid muscle to near the base of the skull. Ryton railway station was a station in Ryton, Tyne and Wear, England. This large village is situated to the south of the River Tyne, at an elevation of some 60–90 metres, some 7 miles west of central Newcastle upon Tyne and within a half mile of the Newcastle-to-Carlisle railway, which roughly follows the course of the river along its south bank. With the opening of that railway, initially between Blaydon and Hexham, in 1835, a rail station was built to serve the village, and for many decades it was used especially by commuters to Newcastle. The River Petteril is a river running through the English county of Cumbria. The source of the Petteril is near Penruddock and Motherby, from where the young river runs southeast through Greystoke, Blencow and Newton Reigny, before passing under the M6 motorway, after which the river turns north, and the motorway roughly follows the course of the river towards Carlisle. The Clyde flows south from its source at the outflow from Clyde Lake in geographic Lavant Township in the municipality of Lanark Highlands to the community of Clyde Forks, where it takes in the right tributaries Middle Branch Clyde River and South Branch Clyde River. On 17 April 2020, the Queensland Government re-drew the boundaries of localities within the Central Highlands Region by replacing the locality of The Gemfields with three new localities of Rubyvale, Sapphire Central and Anakie Siding (around the towns of Rubyvale, Sapphire, and Anakie respectively). This included adjusting the boundaries of other existing localities in the Region to accommodate these changes; Gindie gaining the south-eastern corner of The Gemfields and gaining the eastern edge of Lochington, but losing a small area of its northern part and a small area from its north-east part to Anakie Siding, increasing the area of the locality from . As a consequence of these changes, Lake Maraboon is now entirely within the north-west of Gindie and the boundary beween Lochington and Minerva/Gindie more closely follows the course of the Nogoa River.
The Yorkshire Esk Trail, also Yorkshire Esk Way, is a 32-mile scenic walk, normally to be covered in three stages, that follows the course of the River Esk in North Yorkshire, from its sources in Westerdale to the sea in Whitby. The origins of the settlement are unknown, but Ambrosio de Morales has identified Cetina as Certima or Celtima, a Celtiberian fort which was conquered by the Roman general Graco in 179 CE. Lee Valley Regional Park is a long linear park, much of it green spaces, running through the northeast of Greater London, Essex and Hertfordshire from the River Thames to Ware, through areas such as Stratford, Clapton, Tottenham, Enfield, Walthamstow, Cheshunt, Broxbourne and Hoddesdon in an area generally known as the Lea Valley. Greater London's largest park, Lee Valley Park is more than four times the size of Richmond Park, extending beyond Greater London's borders into the neighbouring counties of Hertfordshire and Essex. The park follows the course of the River Lea (Lee) along the Lea Valley from Ware in Hertfordshire through Essex and the north east of Greater London, through the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to East India Dock Basin on the River Thames. The park is managed by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority and is made up of a diverse mix of countryside areas, urban green spaces, heritage sites, country parks, nature reserves and lakes and riverside trails, as well as leading sports centres covering an area of over .
