In Riverhead, NY 24 initially had a brief overlap with the northernmost portion of NY 113 between Riverleigh Avenue (NY 113) and Main Street (NY 25), where both terminated. This concurrency was eliminated by 1970 as NY 113 was truncated to end at NY 24. In the early 1970s, NY 24 was extended westward along a new divided highway following the course of the Peconic River. The roadway began at the Long Island Expressway and ended just south of Riverhead.
Oregon Route 58 begins (at its western terminus) at an interchange with Interstate 5 and Oregon Route 99 near Goshen, located between the cities of Eugene and Creswell. It heads due southeast from there, following the course of the Willamette River into the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. The highway passes several lakes, including Dexter Lake and Lookout Point Lake, and provides access to the town of Lowell. Further into the mountains, it passes through the cities of Oakridge and Westfir.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which is land and , or 0.62%, is water. The north town line, partly defined by the Ausable River, is the border of Clinton County. The East Branch of the Ausable River flows northward the length of the town near the west town line. New York State Route 9N is a north-south highway through the town, following the course of the East Branch of the Ausable.
North of Ryan, the highway begins paralleling Beaver Creek, a tributary of the Red River, and bypasses Sugden to the east. US-81 intersects US-70 on the southeastern outskirts of Waurika, the county seat of Jefferson County. As US-81 passes north of the town, it begins roughly following the course of Cow Creek, which spills into Beaver Creek in Waurika. The highway curves northeast to bisect Addington before returning to a due north course as it enters Stephens County.
Departing Gravesend Central, the line passes beneath a bridge carrying the A226 before reaching Milton Road Halt (). Here there is a road overbridge for Mark Lane (which was once a level crossing). The line then passes Denton Halt (), following the course of the Thames and Medway Canal before arriving at Milton Range Halt. This was originally intended to serve the nearby rifle range, but was more often used by railway workmen who used this desolate spot to leave their tools.
Belozersk is connected by all-seasonal roads with Cherepovets, Kirillov, and Lipin Bor (connecting further to Vytegra). There are also local roads. The Volga–Baltic Waterway (formerly known as the Mariinsk Canal System), connecting the Rybinsk Reservoir in the basin of the Volga River and Lake Onega in the basin of the Neva River, runs through the district, following the course of the Sheksna, Lake Beloye, and the course of the Kovzha. The Belozersky Canal bypasses Lake Beloye from the south.
The street crosses over Bear Creek and under a freeway interchange with SR 520 before turning southeast. SR 202 continues along the edge of Marymoor Park near the north shore of Lake Sammamish, leaving Redmond and briefly entering the city of Sammamish. (Inset map) SR 202 continues into unincorporated King County, traveling east and south around the Sammamish Plateau by following the course of Patterson Creek. The highway turns east at Duthie Hill and passes through Fall City, turning north to cross the Snoqualmie River.

Almost none of the other buildings planned for Berlin were ever built. Berlin was to be reorganised along a central boulevard known as the Prachtallee ("Avenue/Boulevard of Splendour(s)"). The Severn Valley Railway is a heritage railway in Shropshire and Worcestershire, England. The heritage line runs along the Severn Valley from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster, crossing the Shropshire/Worcestershire border, following the course of the River Severn for much of its route. Train services are hauled predominantly by steam locomotives, plus one diesel hauled train, making two round trips a day, on most days. Diesel locomotives are also used for engineering trains, to replace failed steam locomotives at short notice, and during periods of high fire risk.
From Andermatt the train goes forward in the valley called Urseren passing the villages of Hospental () and Realp (). From there the train enters the Furka Base Tunnel, leaving the old railway line which climbs the Furka Pass (operated today by the Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway), to emerge in Oberwald () in the Goms Valley, in the Canton of Valais. The train then continues toward Brig, following the course of the Rhone, and passes along the villages of Ulrichen (), Münster-Geschinen () and Fiesch (), before going through another spiral.

Maximal inspiratory pressure (MIP) is the maximal pressure that can be produced by the patient trying to inhale through a blocked mouthpiece. Maximal expiratory pressure (MEP) is the maximal pressure measured during forced expiration (with cheeks bulging) through a blocked mouthpiece after a full inhalation. Repeated measurements of MIP and MEP are useful in following the course of patients with neuromuscular disorders.
A Gartner's duct cyst (sometimes incorrectly referred to as vaginal inclusion cyst) is a benign vaginal cyst that originates from the Gartner's duct, which is a vestigial remnant of the mesonephric duct (wolffian duct) in females. They are typically small asymptomatic cysts that occur along the lateral walls of the vagina, following the course of the duct. They can present in adolescence with painful menstruation (dysmenorrhea) or difficulty inserting a tampon. They can also enlarge to substantial proportions and be mistaken for urethral diverticulum or cystocele.

The A-85 begins at the Quebec-New Brunswick border as the continuation of New Brunswick Route 2 and the Trans-Canada Highway. In 2010, the Quebec government announced that the A-85 would be named for Claude Béchard, a longtime Member of the National Assembly from Bas-Saint-Laurent. From the New Brunswick border, the A-85 briefly parallels the main runway of the Edmundston Airport, which straddles the interprovincial border. The A-85 travels in a northwesterly direction, following the course of the Madawaska River.
Here again, it swings to the southeast, following the course of Hardenberger Straße towards Zoologischer Garten station. In the tunnel, it passes the foundations of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church on a tight arc and then follows Tauentzienstraße to Wittenbergplatz where the line emerges to an elevated section via a ramp east of the Kleiststraße/Courbierestraße intersection. The elevated railway reaches its full height at Nollendorfplatz station where all four lines of the small- profile network meet. The underground part of the station has four tracks.
The division between the Boroondara and Stonnington municipalities follows the course of Gardiners Creek, which is a tributary of the Yarra River. The asistencia was built along the route of El Camino Real, a historical trail that linked California's Spanish missions. The Camino Real turned north at the Mission San Buenaventura following the course of the Ventura River.Greenwood and Browne, p. 6. The Santa Gertrudis site was located 5.1 miles north of the mouth of the Ventura River and 220 feet from the river's east bank.
The first pass was a rough wagon trail following the course of the Kingna river through the gorge, crossing that river several times and periodically suffering from flood closures. Bain's team began work in 1873 and the new pass was opened on February 28, 1887 at a cost of £12,000. The route was paved in 1931, and features a 15-m-long, 5-m-high tunnel through the hill known as Kalkoenkrans, atop which the ruins of a fort from the Second Boer War remain visible today.
The Grist Mill Bridge is located in a rural part of far eastern Lebanon. The Little River Road runs generally southward, roughly following the course of the eponymous river as it makes its way south to the Salmon Falls River in Berwick. A short way south of the Lebanon-North Berwick Baptist Church, the road crosses the river at a point where it makes an S-shaped bend to the west. Just downstream (west) of the bridge stands the Old Grist Mill, which was built in 1774.
The party left on the 21st, following the course of the Columbia River in the company of David Thompson and his party of NWC men. Thompson had previously came down the Columbia to Fort Astoria on the 15th of July from New Caledonia. The Coast to Vines rail trail is a rail trail in the Australian state of South Australia following the course of the disused Willunga railway line in the southern suburbs of Adelaide. It is open to pedestrians and cyclists, and runs for 34 km from Marino to Willunga. The northern end of the trail continues from the Marino Rocks Greenway near the Marino Rocks railway station, on The Cove Road. From here it follows the Seaford railway line until Hallett Cove station where it shares the footbridge over the line.
There are also several small country roads criss-crossing the commune and exiting on all sides of the commune. There are no villages or hamlets in the commune other than Aizy-Jouy.Google Maps A stream rises from ponds north of the town and flows south through the commune joining with other streams rising in the north-east of the commune and flowing south to the Aisne river. The commune has a substantial amount of forest mostly following the course of the streams with the rest of commune (about 30%) farmland.
Other industries significant to the region include logging, small-scale fishing and hunting, farming, and in recent years, eco-tourism. The name means "Upper Pallars", distinguishing it from the more populous (and less mountainous) Pallars Jussà to its southwest. Its capital and largest municipality is Sort. Our Lady of the Mountain, Caregue, Pallars Sobirà Located in the central Pyrenees, Pallars Sobirà stretches from south to north, starting at the gorge of Collegats to the village of Alós d'Isil, following the course of the river Noguera Pallaresa.

Straight Lake State Park is a Wisconsin state park north of the village of Luck, Wisconsin. Straight Lake State Park was established in 2002, making it Wisconsin's newest state park. The park is traversed by the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, which runs along the northern shore of Straight Lake before following the course of the Straight River through the Straight River Tunnel Channel. The Clam Falls Trail, an abandoned road that served as an important thoroughfare during the logging era, also traverses the park roughly parallel to the Ice Age Trail.

The Owyhee River Wilderness is irregularly shaped, generally following the course of the Owyhee River, South Fork Owyhee River, Little Owyhee River, Deep Creek, and Battle Creek, as well as including some plateau lands. The wilderness area stretches from the Oregon-Idaho border in the west to the Duck Valley Indian Reservation in the east to the Nevada-Idaho border in the south. The rivers and creeks are deeply eroded into the Owyhee Plateau, resulting in deep canyons. The only roads are rough and there are few trails.
A road connecting Colfax to Palouse and Potlatch, Idaho was first constructed in the early 20th century and appeared on a 1910 United States Geological Survey map of the Pullman area. The road, following the course of the Palouse River, was later paved between Palouse and Idaho and designated as a branch of PSH 3, while the gravel road between US 195 in Colfax and Palouse was signed as SSH 3F. SSH 3F was later paved in 1955, as the two highways merged to form SR 272 in the 1964 highway renumbering.
Josaphat Groleau was educated at the college of Saint-Tite. Following the course of his father, in the 20s, Josaphat Groleau runs a sawmill in Hervey-Jonction. In 1920, Josaphat Groleau is appointed city councilor to the municipality of the village of Sainte-Thècle. Then, he served as mayor in three periods: from 1927 to 1931; from 1947 to 1955; then from 1960 to 1965. He served as commissioner from 1935 to 1945 to the school board of the village, and president from 14 April 1947 to 13 June 1949.
The South Fork Solomon River rises in Sherman County, Kansas, and flows eastward through Thomas and Sheridan counties into Graham County. The South Fork Solomon River travels across Graham County roughly following the course of Highway 24. The South Fork Solomon River enters Graham County about ½ mile (0.8 km) south of Studley and exits Graham County about southwest of Nicodemus. The river runs through Bogue, Hill City, Penokee, Morland and Studley, and is impounded eight miles west of Stockton, Kansas in Rooks County to form the large Webster Reservoir.
The lake has an area of .. Despite its small size, it is the largest of the 216 bodies of water in Jacques-Cartier National Park. We find at the mouth of the lake the Sautauriski dam, which has a height of and a capacity of . From the dam at the mouth of Lake Sautauriski, the current descends for generally southward following the course of the Sautauriski River; then generally south on along the current of the Jacques-Cartier river to the northeast shore of the St. Lawrence River.

In 1914 he made a flight following the course of the Nile between Alexandria and Khartoum in a specially built four-seater aircraft, the Short S.80 The Nile. Beset by mechanical problems, the flight took from 2 January until 22 March. Upon the outbreak of the First World War in August he was commissioned in the Royal Naval Air Service and carried out patrols in the English Channel before becoming chief instructor at Eastchurch. He transferred to the Royal Air Force when it was formed in 1918 but resigned his commission in 1919.
The valley was formed over millions of years by the erosive power of Savannah Creek, which flows north-west, following the course of US 441 and later NC 116 before emptying into the Tuckasegee River near Webster. The area was home to several small communities, some with their own school, store, community center, and post office. Greens Creek, Gay, Viewpoint, Olivet, and East Fork were the five communities that made up Savannah. In the 1920s, new schools at Greens Creek and Gay opened, consolidating three one- room schools in each community.
The Ribble way is a long-distance walk between the Lancashire coast and the Yorkshire Dales National Park largely following the course of the River Ribble. The route begins in Longton and ends at the source of the Ribble at Gayle Moor near Ribblehead, it is around in length. The route passes through a variety of landscapes including tidal marsh, open moorland and limestone gorges. It begins to the south of the Ribble estuary, the route then runs through Preston and on to the historic town of Clitheroe.
It is a focal point between two routes, being part of the main route connecting London with the Continent and the north-south routes following the course of the Medway connecting Maidstone and the Weald of Kent with the Thames and the North Sea. The Thames Marshes were an important source of salt. Rochester's roads follow north Kent's valleys and ridges of steep- sided chalk bournes. There are four ways out of town to the south: up Star Hill, via The Delce, along the Maidstone Road or through Borstal.
From the route of Bagua towards the Mayo River and Huallaga Central, a branch detaches itself, following the course of the Utcubamba River and leading to Chachapoyas. The city's geographical location has determined its isolation until recently, when better roads were constructed between Chachapoyas and the cities of the northern Peruvian coast. Chachapoyas is surrounded by extensive and matted wooded formations. During the rainy season, these formations are covered with a thick haze, from which the city's name may be derived (from the Quechua word: sachapuyos, meaning "mount of haze").

Located at the crossing of a waterway connecting central Russia with Lake Onega and a road connecting St. Petersburg with Arkhangelsk, Vytegra was an important transit point for cargo. The idea to build a canal connecting the drainage basins of the Neva and the Volga Rivers was already discussed by Peter the Great, but the canal, formerly the Mariinsky System, was only built in 1810. In the 20th century, it was reconstructed and renamed the Volga–Baltic Waterway. The waterway passes through the town, following the course of the Vytegra River.
The first recorded European settlement in the Moonie district was in about 1849 when land at the head of the Moonie River was formed into a station and named "Weranga". The current locality of Weranga, the Weranga railway station, and the Weranga State Forest are all in the area once occupied by the station. As further stations were formed along the Moonie River a road to access them was developed, generally following the course of the main channel of the river. This road still exists as Old Moonie Road.
Reed is a small village and civil parish in North Hertfordshire. It is situated on a chalk ridge at almost the highest point in the county, approximately 3 miles south of the market town of Royston. The Prime Meridian passes just to the east of the village, between Reed and Barkway. The modern A10 road (here following the course of the Roman Ermine Street) passes just to the west of the village. Reed includes a first school, and following a short inspection on 23 March 2017, the judgement of Ofsted was that the school continues to be ‘good’.
The village's historic railway station opened on 1 July 1873 and last operated on 7 September 1968 when the line closed. It was on the Douglas to Peel line of the Isle of Man Railway which now forms the Heritage Trail, following the course of the old line. The station was demolished but the crossing keeper's cottage on the east side is now a shelter for walkers on the trail. Local amenities in Crosby include a children's play park, football and cricket pitch, chapel and pub, which is also a popular spectator spot for watching the Isle of Man TT.
The north end of the lane Marylebone Lane is one of the original streets of the Marylebone district of the City of Westminster, London. It runs from Oxford Street in the south to Marylebone High Street in the north, its winding shape following the course of the River Tyburn that it once ran alongside and pre-dating the grid pattern of the other streets in the area. Today the lane is largely composed of small shops, cafes and restaurants with some small apartment blocks. There are some larger commercial buildings at the southern end near Oxford Street.

Oregon Route 229 begins (at its southern terminus) at a junction with U.S. Route 20 and U.S. Route 20 Business, north of the city of Toledo. It heads north from there, past Olalla Reservoir, meeting the Siletz River in the town of Siletz. From there, it continues north, generally following the course of the river downstream (and crossing it several times), eventually turning west and heading towards the Pacific Ocean. Close to the end of the road is the historic town of Kernville; shortly after, OR 229 ends at an intersection with U.S. Route 101, located between Lincoln City and Gleneden Beach.
Lac Launière has a length of , a width of and its surface is at an altitude of . This lake sunk between the mountains is made in length by more or less marrying the shape of the letter L. Lac Launière receives the discharge from Lac La Giroflée on the east side and the discharge from Lac Frazie on the west side. From the mouth of Lac Launière, the current descends on following the course of the Launière River. Then the current follows the course of the Jacques-Cartier River for generally south to the northeast bank of the St. Lawrence river.
Here SS4 becomes similar to a mountain road, since bends become more tight and the ascent more steep; but halfway through the canyon, a recently uprated stretch of the road begins, where tunnels and viaducts make the road smoother albeit still with a single carriageway. In Posta, at 700 metres above sea level, SS4 leaves the canyon and keeps going up in a broader plateau. Shortly after Cittareale the highway reaches its upper point, the Torrita Pass, at around 1010 metres on the sea level. From here on the roads descents following the course of the narrow Tronto valley.
Before the arrival of the explorers of European ancestry, these lands were inhabited by Algonquins. The region was covered with forests until the 1930s when a large number of unemployed fleeing the major Canadian cities struck by the global economic crisis arrived there in the hope of establishing themselves and rebuilding their lives. At the time there was no road, so the people crossed the valley in barge, following the course of river. Three parishes were founded there in the 1930s, namely Saint- Joachim-de-Beaucanton, Saint-Camille-de-Villebois and Saint-Ephrem-de-Val- Paradis.
Between 1970 and 1980, the local signal boxes were replaced by automatic block signaling. The line was then controlled by the signal box in Käfertal, which was put into operation in 1978. In 1968, as part of the upgrade of the federal highway 38, the line in Viernheim was moved slightly to the southeast. Up to that time the line ran to Kiesstraße curving next to Mannheimer Straße then turned right–approximately following the course of a current road called Auf der Beune–crossed Heddesheimer Straße and then ran just off Ringstraße (now called Berliner Ring) to Viernheim OEG station.
Lake Castelnau is located in the northern part of the territory of the town of Baie-Comeau. This lake is the main body of water on the slope of the Chasse river. Lake Castelnau has a length of , a maximum width of and an altitude of . From the mouth of Lake Castelnau, the current descends on generally north-east, then south, following the course of the rivière à la Chasse, in particular by crossing an urban sector in the eastern part of Baie-Comeau at the end of the segment, to flow onto the north shore of the Manicouagan estuary.
Lac Amédée is located in the northwestern part of the territory of the town of Baie-Comeau. This lake in the western part of thae township of Laflèche is the main body of water on the slope of the river of the same name. Lac Amédée has a length of , a maximum width of and an altitude of . From the mouth of Lake Amédée, the current descends on generally towards the south-east following the course of the Amédée River, in particular by crossing the urban territory of Baie-Comeau, to flow onto the north shore of the Manicouagan estuary.
Li Yuan's advance was stopped at a place called Guhubao for two weeks in late August due to heavy rainfall, giving time to the Sui authorities to react. The general Qutu Tong was sent to secure Hedong Commandery on the Yellow River. Another 20,000 elite troops under Song Laosheng advanced north to the town of Huoyi, some south of Guhubao, to confront him. Huoyi was placed on the southern exit of a defile through which the road passed, following the course of the Fen River, and provided an excellent position from which to check an army coming from the north.
The eastern terminus of the Riverina Highway is located on the eastern shore of the Hume Weir, which impounds the Murray River, immediately east of Albury. The Bethanga Bridge carries the highway across the weir as the highway generally heads west by northwest, following the course of the Murray River to reach its western terminus at Deniliquin. West of Albury, the highway passes through or near the Riverina towns of and where it has a short concurrency with the Newell Highway. From this point the highway follows the Mulwala Canal westward until it reaches Deniliquin, terminating at its junction with the Cobb Highway.
Basauri is located in the metropolitan region of the Greater Bilbao, on both sides of the river Nervión and the lower valley of the river Nervión and Ibaizabal. Basauri is located at joining point of the two most important rivers of Biscay, forming a small river plain (in the border with Etxebarri) a series of meanders have been built, now engaged in their most industrial facilities. Basauri also joins the roads coming from Orduña-Urduña and Durango following the course of the two rivers. A neighborhood took its name from the joining of both paths: Bidebieta (two paths).
Bray Lock is a lock and weir on the River Thames in England near Bray and Dorney Reach, and is just above the M4 Bridge across the Thames. The lock is on the Buckinghamshire side of the river on the opposite bank from Bray itself and Maidenhead which are in Berkshire. Here, the county line stands roughly halfway between the lock and the opposite bank, following the course of the Thames itself. The pound lock was built by the Thames Navigation Commission relatively late in 1845 The lock keeper's cottage is on an island (Parting Eyot) between the lock and the weir.
The hill fort itself would have been situated high above the village, to one side of the present-day Raikes Lane, which heads towards Gildersome, and onto Leeds. In prehistoric days, trackways ran in various directions from one British settlement to another, one such settlement being on the top of Birstall Hill. This site was chosen for its central location amongst the nearby waterways and its accessibility to and from other nearby hill forts, such as Castle Hill at Almondbury in Huddersfield and Barwick-in-Elmet, near Leeds. Following the course of Fieldhead Lane towards Drighlington is the Roman road of Tong Street.

A statue of James Brindley, the engineer for the Trent & Mersey main line, stands near the junction. Following the course of the infant River Trent, the waterway climbs to a summit level at Stockton Brook, which carries it over the watershed between the Trent and Churnet Valleys. Thereafter the canal descends through locks at Hazelhurst and then Cheddleton, into an initially broad flood plain.
In Tianjin, the canal heads northwest, for a short time following the course of the Yongding, a tributary of the Hai River, before branching off toward Tongzhou on the edge of the municipality of Beijing. It is here that the modern canal stops and that a Grand Canal Cultural Park has been built. During the Yuan dynasty, a further canal on the Tonghui River connected Tongzhou with a wharf called the Houhai or "rear sea" in central Beijing. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, however, the water level in the Tonghui River dropped and ships could not travel from Tongzhou to Beijing.
The pancreatic branches or pancreatic arteries are numerous small vessels derived from the splenic artery as it runs behind the upper border of the pancreas, supplying its body and tail. One of these, larger than the rest, is sometimes given off near the tail of the pancreas; it runs from left to right near the posterior surface of the gland, following the course of the pancreatic duct, and is called the greater pancreatic artery. These vessels anastomose with the pancreatic branches of the superior and inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery that are given off by the gastroduodenal artery and superior mesenteric artery respectively.

Three interchanges serve Tecate, two with Federal Highway 2 on either side of Tecate and a third with Blvd. Universidad which serves as the northern terminus of Mexican Federal Highway 3 to Ensenada.
The visual character is of large, lush green trees surrounded by dry desert vegetation and soil coloration. The area may be in a patch surrounding a spring (oasis), or in a strand following the course of water flow. Over 80% of known desert wildlife species use desert riparian areas. Common dominant species include Fremont cottonwood (Populus fremontii), Arizona ash (Fraxinus velutina), arroyo willow (Salix lasiolepis), Goodding's willow (Salix gooddingii), red willow (Salix laevigata), California fan palm (Washingtonia filifera), and invasive species such as salt cedar (Tamarix ramosissima), giant reed (Arundo donax), and Russian olive (Elaeagnus angustifolia).

M-21 is an east–west state trunkline highway in the US state of Michigan connecting the cities of Grand Rapids and Flint. The highway passes through rural farming country and several small towns along its course through the Lower Peninsula. Following the course of a handful of rivers, M-21 also connects some of the state's freeways like Interstate 96 (I-96), US Highway 127 (US 127) and I-75. The highway is used by between 1,700 and 36,000 vehicles daily. M-21 was designated along the highway by July 1, 1919 between Ionia and Goodells near Port Huron.
This work involves the journey of a large wooden sphere from a Welsh mountainside to the Atlantic Ocean. Wooden Boulder is a large wooden sphere carved by Nash in the North Wales landscape and left there to weather. Over the years, the boulder has slipped, rolled and sometime been pushed through the landscape following the course of streams and rivers until finally it was last seen in the estuary of the river Dwyryd. It was thought to have been washed out to sea but, after being missing for over five years, the boulder reappeared in June 2009.
Later Vedic texts like the Tandya and Jaiminiya Brahmanas, as well as the Mahabharata, mention that the Sarasvati dried up in a desert. Since the late 19th-century, scholars have identified the Vedic Saraswati river as the Ghaggar-Hakra River system, which flows through northwestern India and eastern Pakistan, between the Yamuna and the Sutlej. Satellite images have pointed to the more significant river once following the course of the present day Ghaggar River. Scholars have observed that major Indus Valley Civilization sites at Kalibangan (Rajasthan), Banawali and Rakhigarhi (Haryana), Dholavira and Lothal (Gujarat) also lay along this course.

Cat Street in Ura-Harajuku is a district in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Ura- Harajuku, or Ura-Hara, is the common name given to the network of smaller Harajuku backstreets spreading perpendicular to Omotesando, corresponding on official maps of Shibuya ward as Jingūmae 3 chōme and 4 chōme. Ura-Harajuku contrasts with the main vehicle thoroughfares and retail offerings of Harajuku being mostly pedestrianized and showcasing smaller independent shops and dining options. Cat Street, following the course of the main Shibuya River tributary, is the principal route through this district spreading from Sendagaya in the north towards Shibuya in the south.
These waters that feed Bradford Beck, along with the geological conditions, formed Bradford Dale. The catchment area for the dale covers over . As the industrialisation of Bradford was some time off from the Middle Ages, many locations and settlements were not listed as being in Bradford itself, which was quite small, but in Bradford Dale. Bradford Dale has been described as starting above the moors at Thornton, heading east and then curving northwards towards Shipley following the course of the Bradford Beck, with Shipley being described as the head of the dale where the waters from Bradford Beck meet the River Aire.
During Pleistocene glacial periods, sea levels were lower and the present day Solent was part of the valley of the Solent River. The river flowed eastward from Dorset, following the course of the modern Solent strait, before travelling south and southwest towards the major Channel River system. The earliest evidence of archaic human presence on what is now the Isle of Wight is found at Priory Bay. Here more than 300 acheulean handaxes have been recovered from the beach and cliff slopes, originating from a sequence of Pleistocene gravels dating approximately to MIS 11 (424,000-374,000 years ago).
Annan railway station, built in 1848 As built, the Glasgow and South Western Railway from Glasgow to Carlisle runs through Nithsdale to Dumfries, practically following the course of the River Nith, then on to Annan and lower Annandale to the English border at Gretna. A branch was built from Dumfries to Moniaive, the Cairn Valley Light Railway, but this closed in 1949. The Caledonian Railway from Carlisle to Glasgow runs through Annandale, which threw off at Beattock a small branch to Moffat, now closed. At Lockerbie a cross-country line to Dumfries (now closed), and at Kirtlebridge a line that ultimately crossed the Solway to Bowness which is also closed.
El Kouf National ParkEl Kouf National Park is also known as El Kauf National Park and Wadi el-Kouf Park. is located near and to the west of the city of Bayda, in Jabal al Akhdar District in the forested hills of the Jebel Akhdar or Green Mountains. The park is only about 15 km wide from east and west, but it streaches from the coast for a 160 km to the south, following the course of Wadi el-Kouf. There are three major habitat types, beach dunes give way to maquis shrubland at higher elevations, with a fluvial microhabitat along the course of the wadi.
This lake is divided into two parts separated by a strait of a hundred meters in its center, because of a peninsula attached to the eastern shore and stretching for about towards the west and another peninsula attached to the west bank. The northern part has three main bays, two of which stretch north. The southern part has seven main bays. He also adds the detail that alongside the Turks, the Seljuq army also counted many "Dilimnites" (Daylamites) and "Kabeiroi" (probably Khurasani Iranians). Indeed, Skylitzes mentions that Ibrahim had two lieutenants, one "Chorosantes" (possibly a corruption of Khurasani), who likely commanded the Khurasani contingent, and "Aspan Salarios", clearly a hellenisation of the Persian military rank ispahsalar. Like the previous raid, the Seljuq force most likely set out from Tabriz and, following the course of the Araxes River, entered Vasurakan.
Change for a Dollar is a short film by Sharon Wright. The short movie follows a seemingly homeless man wander through the course of a day, in which he gives away the dollar in change that was dumped into his tin can. Following the course of how the "dollar" was used, the viewer essentially gets an eye- opening opportunity to watch lives changed, based on the premise that it doesn't take much to make a difference. The film was filmed in a single day in Osawatomie, Kansas on March 13, 2010 with the assistance of several Kansas City, Missouri film makers, and a small cast.
Letchworth State Park is a New York State Park located in Livingston County and Wyoming County in the northwestern part of the State of New York. The park is roughly long, following the course of the Genesee River as it flows north through a deep gorge and over several large waterfalls. It is located southwest of Rochester and southeast of Buffalo, and spans portions of the Livingston County towns of Leicester, Mount Morris, and Portage, as well as the Wyoming County towns of Castile and Genesee Falls. In 1859, industrialist William Pryor Letchworth (1823-1910) began purchasing land near the Middle Falls, and started construction of his Glen Iris Estate.
The Meon Valley Railway (MVR) was a cross-country railway in Hampshire, England that ran for between Alton and Fareham, closely following the course of the River Meon. At its northern (Alton) end, it joined with the Mid-Hants Railway to Winchester, the Alton Line to Brookwood and the Basingstoke and Alton Light Railway. At Fareham it linked with the Eastleigh to Fareham Line, the West Coastway Line and the line to Gosport. The railway was authorised in 1896 and opened in 1903, making it one of the last railways of any size to be built to main-line standards in the United Kingdom.

The Great Platte River Road was a major overland travel corridor approximately following the course of the Platte River in present-day Nebraska and Wyoming that was shared by several popular emigrant trails during the 19th century, including the Trapper's Trail, the Oregon Trail, the Mormon Trail, the California Trail, the Pony Express route, and the military road connecting Fort Leavenworth and Fort Laramie.
Grinzing lies in the northwest of Vienna and, with an area of 613.52 hectares, is the largest suburb in the district of Döbling. To the northeast, it borders on Josefsdorf; the border continues along the Wildgrube and the Schreiberbach stream towards the east, where it branches along the Springsiedelgasse and the Neugebauerweg to the south. The border then runs along the Hungerbergstraße to mark the boundary to Unterdöbling, before following the course of the Kaasgraben, which divides Grinzing from Sievering in the east. Finally, the border turns northwestward and continues via the Himmelstraße and the Spießweg to the edge of the city of Vienna, which separates Grinzing from Weidling.

It is a young missionary who made these expeditions in search of indigenous villages to take the gospel to the inhabitants: Fray Alonso de la Oliva. In moving towards the north he came to the source of the Ojo de San Antonio (now Ojo de Agua). By following the course of water that flowed through the shoal in the course of the millennium, he came to the confluence with the Rio Conchos.

Map of Syria, with Turkey to the north The border between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Republic of Turkey (,) is about long, and runs from the Mediterranean Sea in the west to the tripoint with Iraq in the east. It runs across Upper Mesopotamia for some , crossing the Euphrates and reaching as far as the Tigris. Much of the border follows the Southern Turkish stretch of the Baghdad Railway, roughly along the 37th parallel between the 37th and 42nd eastern meridians. In the west, it almost surrounds the Turkish Hatay Province, partly following the course of the Orontes River and reaching the Mediterranean coast at the foot of Jebel Aqra.
On reaching the centre of Rhayader, traffic heads to the left of the clock tower before immediately turning right, where the road passes through the town and joins the A470 for to Llangurig, following the course of the River Wye. Leaving Llangurig, the road starts clinging to hillsides as it winds its way through the Cambrian Mountains. The 'Elvis Rock' beside the A44 road The road enters Ceredigion and the next hamlet is Eisteddfa Gurig which, at 1339 feet (408 metres) above sea level, is its highest point and the location of the iconic Elvis Rock. The A44 then descends into the remote settlement of Ponterwyd.
The opposing forces started to fortified their positions and entrenchments, O´Donnell men by rebuilding the town's fortress, destroyed by the retreating rebels, and the Carlist faction by setting up a six-feet high barricade with a number of embrasures that enabled them to keep the town under fire. The wall had the shape of a horseshoe, following the course of the stream, with the convex side aimed to Andoain. The extreme left ended up in a bunker, where the Carlists mounted a permanent watch. The narrowness of the stream and the main bridge made any force attempting to cross the river an easy target for the rebels.

The Volga–Baltic Waterway (formerly known as the Mariinsk Canal System), connecting the Rybinsk Reservoir in the basin of the Volga River and Lake Onega in the basin of the Neva River, runs through the district, following the course of the Sheksna. The northern part of Lake Kubenskoye, which belongs to the basin of the Northern Dvina River, is connected by the Northern Dvina Canal with Lake Siverskoye, the town of Kirillov, and the Sheksna River, thus connecting the basins of the White Sea and the Volga.

As a leader of the original party to investigate events in Hungary, it was natural that Jean de Carrouges would return with his followers in the service of his old commander, Admiral Jean de Vienne.Jager, p. 193 The army crossed Central Europe, united with the Hungarians and marched south, burning the city of Vidin and massacring the inhabitants before following the course of the Danube southeast, cutting a swathe of destruction through Ottoman territory.
Lausanne is built on the southern slope of the Swiss plateau, with a difference in elevation of about between the lakeshore at Ouchy and its northern edge bordering Le Mont-sur-Lausanne and Épalinges. Lausanne boasts a dramatic panorama over the lake and the Alps. The route begins as a six lane freeway as it splits off from the Ayalon Highway (Highway 20) just north of the Kibbutz Galuyot Interchange in Tel Aviv at an elevation of 16 meters above sea level travelling 0.7 km due south-southeast following the course of the Ayalon Stream. It then turns southeast, continuing past the 70 meter high Hiriya landfill, intersects Highway 4 and Route 412 and passes the Tel Aviv toll express lanes and park-and-ride facility. Israel Railways maintains tracks along the median of the highway along this section. A separated express toll lane runs along the three westbound lanes between Ben Gurion and Kibbutz Galuyot interchanges.
The A374 in Plymouth Torpoint Ferry, the A374 crossing over the River Tamar The Halfway House, Polbathic Starting at the Marsh Mills junction of the A38, the A374 heads west into Plymouth, following the course of the River Plym along a section of dual carriageway. At Prince Rock the A379 merges from Plymstock and continues into the city. On the edge of the city centre it meets the Charles Cross roundabout, in the middle of which stands the preserved shell of the derelict Charles Church. Skirting the Plymouth city centre to the north, the A374 continues past the main buildings of the University of Plymouth and is met by the A386 near Plymouth railway station.
They would take rafts of lumber in the spring down Pine Creek from Ansonia to Jersey Shore, and then walk back north along the path. Attempts to convert the path into a wagon road early in the same century were unsuccessful - when John Peet tried it he said it took 18 days, crossed Pine Creek "eighty times going to and eighty times coming from", lost a wheel, broke two axles, and upset the wagon twice. In 1883, the Jersey Shore, Pine Creek and Buffalo Railway opened, following the course of the path from Jersey Shore to Ansonia. The railroad soon became the Pine Creek Railway, a part of the Fall Brook Coal Company.

There are only a few small hillocks on Rostock Heath, such as the Dachsberg southeast of Torfbrücke, the Buchenberg near Schnaterman, the Budenberg northeast of the Heiligensee lake and the Kastanienberg.
The first mentions of the word Zabul is from coinage of what's known as "the early anonymous clan-rulers". These were late fourth-century tribal chiefs and possibly former governors of the Sasanids from the north of the Hindu Kush, who following the course of the Kidarites, declared independence from Sasanid dominance. By 384/5 CE, they controlled Kāpiśī and Gandhara, and started minting their own characteristic coins in the formerly Sasanian mint. A set of these anonymous coins including some of the coins of king Khingila I, the first of Alkhan kings known by name, bore the legend Shāh Zāwbul Ālkhān (Bactrian: ϸαυο ζαοβλ αλχανο) translated as ‘King of Zabul Alkhan’.

From the mouth of this lake, the current crosses part of Lac de Travers to the north, then descends on following the course of the rivière aux Castors Noirs, in particular crossing the lac aux Biscuits. Finally, the current flows into the upper part of the Batiscan River which goes southward to the north-west shore of Saint Lawrence river..

This can help detect the emergence of mutations that confer resistance to a targeted therapy and allow the course of treatment to be adjusted accordingly. CAPP-Seq specifically allows for the screening of multiple genomic locations which will become important as the list of cancer mutations important for treatment continues to grow. In a study for late stage NSCLC, they performed a version of CAPP-Seq where the tumor biopsy was not sequenced first, and they were able to correctly classify 100% of patient plasma samples with a 0% false positive rate.
Located at the edge of the 43rd parallel, at about 400 meters above sea level, the village of Lugliano dominates the Serchio valley, the valley of the Lima stream, and the two valleys of the streams Buliesima and Pizzorne. Behind it are the hills of Pizzorne, which separate it from the plain of Lucca. The village enjoys an excellent view over the Garfagnana, featuring the appendages of the Apuan Alps, the Pania della Croce and the Pania Secca, and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, particularly Mount Giovo and the Rondinaio. In a northerly direction, the view sweeps along the valley that goes from Bagni di Lucca up towards Abetone following the course of the Lima stream.
The sections on either side of the Kallang River are managed by the National Parks Board (NParks), while the section along the western bank of the Rochor River was absorbed into Gardens by the Bay as part of Bay Central Garden. The Marina Promenade on the western banks of the Kallang Basin and Marina Channel links Kallang Riverside Park in the north with Marina Centre in the south. It forms part of the Bay Central Garden of Gardens by the Bay. Kallang Park Connector is part of the Park Connector Network (PCN) managed by NParks, running from Bishan Road in the north to Sims Avenue in the south, largely following the course of the Kallang River.
In ancient sources, the region was recorded as Zabakha in 785 BC, by the king Argishti I of Urartu. According to Cyril Toumanoff, Javakheti was part of the Iberian duchy of Tsunda from the 4th or 3rd century BC. Saint Nino entered Iberia from Javakheti, and, following the course of the River Kura, she arrived in Mtskheta, the capital of the kingdom, once there, she eventually began to preach Christianity, which culminated by Christianization of Iberia. In struggle against the Arab occupation, Bagrationi dynasty came to rule over Tao-Klarjeti and established the Kouropalatate of Iberia. rulers of Tao-Klarjeti fought the Arabs from there, gradually incorporating the surrounding lands of Samtskhe and Javakheti, along with a few other lesser lands, from the Arab dominance.
During the Sitgreaves Expedition multiple new species were discovered at the spring, including Abert's squirrel, the Western Pocket Gopher, and Woodhouse's toad. It has been suggested that Flagstaff owes its existence to Leroux and this expedition; Beale was an admirer of Leroux and made sure his paths traveled by the springs, and in turn it was from Beale's wagon road that the city developed. In 1882, Thomas S. Sedgewick of the railroad company planned to construct a water pipeline to connect Big Leroux Spring to Flagstaff, following the course of the river, but the pipeline was not built. The flow of Big Leroux Spring was measured in 1949 at 29 gallons per minute, while the average flow between 2004 and 2013 was 13.5 gallons per minute.
In that area, the border is defined differently by the neighbouring countries—either as following the course of the Danube, as claimed by Serbia, or following a line tracing the borders of cadastral municipalities having seat in either of the two countries, as claimed by Croatia. The cadastre-based boundary also traces the former riverbed of the Danube, which was changed by meandering and hydraulic engineering works in the 19th century, after the cadastre was established. The border dispute involves up to of territory. Other sources specify somewhat different figures, indicating a Croatian claim over on the eastern bank of the river, in Bačka, while saying that the cadastre-based boundary leaves of territory on the western bank of the Danube, in Baranja to Serbia.
This and another aircraft of the same type were completely mechanically constructed monoplanes, the engines of which had to be modified to efficiently operate in the climate of the country. There were nine aircraft in the fleet with a total range of which could carry up to four passengers and two crewmen. Due to the topographic characteristics of the country and the lack of airports at the time, floats were adapted for two of the Junkers aircraft to make water landings in the rivers near different towns. Using these floats, Helmuth von Krohn was able to perform the first inland flight over Colombia on 20 October 1920, following the course of the Magdalena River; the flight took eight hours and required four emergency landings in the water.
The "Lac à la Loutre" is located in the unorganized territory of Rivière-aux-Outardes, north of the city of Baie-Comeau. This lake turns out to be the main head water body on the slope of the rivière aux Anglais. The Lac à la Loutre has a length of , a maximum width of and an altitude of . From the mouth of Lac à la Loutre, the current descends on generally towards the south-east, following the course of the rivière aux Anglais, in particular passing by end of segment on the north side of an industrial sector in the eastern part of Baie-Comeau, to discharge onto the west shore of Baie aux Anglais, on the north shore of the Estuary of Saint Lawrence.
Its waters' flow reverses direction every year, caused by greatly varying amounts of water carried by the Mekong over the course of a year and the impact of monsoonal rains, that coincides with the river's maximum. The plains of the Mekong and Tonle Sap basin are confined in the North by the Dangrek and Central Annamite Mountains, and to the South by the Cardamom Mountains and Elephant Mountains. The plains completely surround the Tonle Sap Lake in the western half of the country and wind their way through the middle of the country following the course of the Mekong River. The two basins actually form a single body of water, the whole of which effects about 75% of Cambodia’s land cover.

Following the course of the Murray River, along the route they found two fine lakes – Lake Victoria, in the western Riverina region of New South Wales, and Lake Bonney in north-eastern South Australia. Hawdon named the first after Queen Victoria and the second after his companion. Charles Sturt, in an official report made in August 1838, said of this journey: "Messrs Hawdon and Bonney could not have taken a more direct line or shortened the journey more wisely". Having beaten other aspiring overlanders, including John Hill and Edward John Eyre, Hawdon and Lieutenant Alfred Mundy left Melbourne on an expedition to Adelaide on 11 July 1839, travelling north- north-west to Expedition Pass, near present-day Castlemaine, and stopping at various squatter stations.
Legarda Street commences at the Legarda Flyover of the Nagtahan Interchange as a westward continuation of Magsaysay Boulevard from Santa Mesa district. It heads due west, traversing the southern edge of Sampaloc and skirting the northern boundary of San Miguel. After crossing Figueras Street, Legarda bends to the southwest following the course of Estero de Alix (Alix Creek). It intersects with Recto Avenue–Mendiola Street, wherein majority of its traffic turn towards Recto Avenue serving as a major continuation westward, and San Rafael Street before terminating and briefly converging with the junction at Nepomuceno Street (formerly Tanduay Street) in Quiapo district before it transitions again as P. Casal Street heading into San Miguel and Ayala Bridge to Ermita on the southern bank of the Pasig River.
Azad Hind Radio was a propaganda radio service that was started under the leadership of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in Germany in 1942 to encourage Indians to fight for freedom. Though initially based in Germany, its headquarters were shifted to Singapore, and later to Rangoon, following the course of the war in Southeast Asia. After Netaji's departure to Southeast Asia, the German operations were continued by A.C.N. Nambiar, the head of the Indian Legion in Germany and later ambassador of the Arzi Hukumate Azad Hind in Germany. The station broadcast weekly news bulletins in English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, Pashto and Urdu, the languages spoken by most potential volunteers for the Indian Legion in Germany and the Indian National Army in southeast Asia.
There was significant Roman settlement along the Roding valley, with a minor road from London to the Roman small town at Dunmow following the course of the river. There was a settlement on the Chigwell side of the river at Little London; excavations indicate that this may have been a relay station (mutatio) where official travellers on state business could change horses and rest for the night. Little London may have been the settlement of Durolitum mentioned in the Antonine Itinerary; the name means 'the fort on the ford', which fits the geography, although the archaeological evidence has not revealed any military buildings. There was also a substantial Roman building on the Loughton side of the Roding, probably a large farmhouse.
Native Lenape Native Americans were known to travel the Minisink Trail for centuries before Europeans arrived in New Jersey. Part of that trail cut across what is now southern Denville, roughly following the course of Route 10 and Mount Pleasant Turnpike. Some research has indicated that there was a Lenape campsite along the trail in Denville, on or near the Ayres / Knuth Farm Historic Site along Route 10. When Dutch and English settlers began to arrive in the new world in the early 17th century, the Minisink Trail was the likely route they traveled to explore the interior. Daniel Denton, one of the purchasers of what is known as the Elizabethtown Tract in 1664, led an expedition into the interior of northern New Jersey.
The Chief delineated the border as follows: > "Starting from the peak of Mt. Labo as a common corner between the provinces > of Tayabas, Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte thence a straight line is > drawn to the peak of Mt. Cadig; thence a straight line is drawn to the point > of intersection of the inter-provincial road between Camarines Norte and > Tayabas with the Tabugon River; thence, following the course of the river to > its mouth at Basiad Bay." In the legal dispute, Quezon raised two points of contention. First is that Act 2711 already delineated the boundaries of the province. Second is that the Chief of the Executive Bureau had no power nor authority to change the boundaries of the province.
The Coleford line was steeply graded, following the course of the old Milkwall tramway; the gradient was 1 in 31 falling from Milkwall to Coleford Junction, and its extent was opened on 19 July 1875 to goods traffic; passenger opening followed on 9 December 1875 The junction near Parkend faced away from Lydney, so that through running from Coleford to Lydney involved a reversal there. The extensive sidings at Coleford Junction were completed by the previous April. The reversal was necessary for branch trains from Lydney and in practice ‘down’ goods trains left traffic at the junction for marshalling and collection by the Coleford branch engine. Coleford GWR station (the Coleford Railway station on the line from Monmouth) opened to passengers on 1 September 1883.
Everything at the school, including the large printing presses, moved to the North where the boys quickly settled into their familiar routine. Life continued at Coniston for several years, the boys being actively involved in "Digging for Victory" and following the course of the war via their radios. An athletics track was constructed, flag poles flew the various house and school flags and the boys started the tradition of regularly climbing the "Old Man", a tradition that generations of Bembridgians would continue to enjoy on what became annual visits to Brantwood in peacetime. In Spring of 1945, the war clearly at its climax in Europe, the school was derequisitioned by the military, who had been stationed there, and handed back to The Warden.
Sandstone towers The Valley of the Gods may be toured via a gravel road (San Juan County Road 242) that winds around the formations. The road is rather steep and bumpy in parts but is passable by non-four-wheel drive vehicles in dry weather. The western end joins Utah State Route 261 shortly before its ascent up Cedar Mesa at Moki Dugway, while the eastern end starts from the town of Mexican Hat along U.S. Route 163 and heads north, initially crossing flat, open land and following the course of Lime Creek, a seasonal wash, before turning west toward the buttes and pinnacles. In addition to the gravel road, the area is also crisscrossed by off-road dirt trails.
The lake is also used for open water swim training by Leicester Triathlon Club, and for water training of Newfoundland Dogs. There are several further artificial lakes continuing south following the course of the canal ending with the southernmost lake, often referred to as the Mammoth lake due to the presence of a large statue of a Mammoth atop a small hill aside the lake, from where one can see Leicester and the surrounding area for some distance in either direction. There was a previous woolly mammoth where the current one stands, although it was burned down in an arson attack several years ago. The Millennium Mammoth was built to commemorate the discovery of ice age mammoth remains found when Watermead was a quarry.
A road bypass of Staveley and Brimington has been proposed since 1927. When the A61 Rother Way (also known as the Chesterfield Bypass) was constructed in the 1980s, a short dual carriageway spur was constructed over the River Rother and the Canal, terminating at a large roundabout which has an access road to a supermarket and the single carriageway A619 continuing to Brimington. The dual carriageway was planned to continue, heading northwards through Wheeldon Mill Greyhound Stadium (since demolished) before crossing the Canal twice and following the course of the Rother through Staveley Works. There would have likely been a grade separated junction between Mill Green and Hall Lane to serve the town and the nearby village of Barrow Hill.

At 9:23:13 the crew reported on the passage of the MAD beacon at a height of 1,700 feet and a heading of 215, while not having visual contact with the ground. Following the course of 200 and descending 980 feet, at 21:26:33 from flight TP-425 they reported that there was no visual observation of the runway and a missed approach.
The immediate cause of the two-day Battle of Znaim was the decision of the Austrian commander in chief, Archduke Charles, to stage a rearguard action near the town of Znaim, about 80 kilometers north of Vienna, in order to give his army time to withdraw its baggage train in safety toward Moravia. Marmont’s two combined French and Bavarian corps were the first of Napoleon’s troops to arrive on the field following the course of the river Thaya. Cambridge Parish is defined in the Territorial Division Act as being bounded: :Beginning on the northeastern shore of the Saint John River, at the southeast angle of lot number sixteen, granted to Isaac Gilbert; thence following the course of the lower or southeastern line of said lot numbered sixteen northeasterly until it meets the waters of the Grand Lake; thence by the waters of the Grand Lake to the roadFowler Road. leading from Mill Cove on the said lake, to Fowlers Cove on the Washademoak Lake; thence southeasterly by said road to Washademoak Lake; thence southwesterly by the waters of the Washademoak Lake and through the Colwells Creek and Lawson Passage to the Saint John River; and thence following the shore of the Saint John River up stream to the place of beginning.
Akihabara Station was opened in November 1890 as a freight terminal linked to Ueno Station via tracks following the course of the modern day Yamanote Line. It was opened to passenger traffic in 1925 following the construction of the section of track linking Ueno with Shinbashi via Tokyo Station and the completion of the Yamanote Line. The upper level platforms were added in 1932 with the opening of an extension to the Sōbu Line from its old terminal at Ryōgoku to Ochanomizu, making Akihabara an important transfer station for passengers from the east of Tokyo and Chiba Prefecture. The huge growth in commuter traffic following the Second World War caused considerable congestion and was only relieved with the construction of the Sōbu line tunnel linking Kinshichō with Tokyo, bypassing Akihabara.
Former logo, from when the line was operated by SCP (1995-2013) Borges station, in the residential area of Olivos CAF Unit 9 at Maipú in original livery The original line was constructed between 1891 and 1896 as part of the Buenos Aires and Rosario Railway (BA&R;) connecting Coghlan junction in the Buenos Aires neighbourhood of Belgrano with the port of Tigre and was known as the Tren del Bajo. Tracks ran following the course of the river, serving as an alternative route to Tigre, which was already served by the Buenos Aires Northern Railway. The line was later absorbed by the Central Argentine Railway when this company took over the (BA&R;) in 1908. The line was electrified in 1931 and after nationalisation in 1948, it became part of General Mitre Railway.
The Old Boundary Pine was located east of this point. The "curved" segments roughly following the course of the Merrimack at a distance 3 miles north of it are not true curves, but rather a series of line segments approximating the curved course of the river. Another granite marker, also placed in 1890, stands on the beach between Salisbury, Massachusetts and Seabrook, New Hampshire at 80 feet from the high tide line, marking the end of the surveyed border, with the border taken to extend into the Atlantic Ocean to the "limit of State jurisdiction." New Hampshire claimed all the land west to roughly the present western boundary of Vermont, while New York claimed east to the Connecticut River, Vermont's present eastern boundary; thus both states claimed all of Vermont.
Born in a family of Burgundian bourgeoisie, Guérard studied in Dijon from 1807 to 1814, then moved to Paris where he was first a bank employee. In 1818, he obtained a supernumerary place at the manuscript department of the Bibliothèque royale and decided to improve his training by following the course of the École royale des chartes established in 1821. Became permanent employee of the Royal Library, he devoted himself to historical research, getting a mention from the Académie française for his Discours sur la vie et les ouvrages du président Jacques-Auguste de Thou and collaborated to the L'Art de vérifier les dates. But he is mostly known for his Essai sur les divisions territoriales de la Gaule sous les rois des Francs, crowned by the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (1830) and printed at government expense in 1832.
Since an extension of the Mannheim–Weinheim line via Birkenau and Fürth to Reichelsheim connecting to the SEG's Reinheim–Reichelsheim Railway, which had been desired since the early days, could not be realised (the Weschnitz Valley Railway between Weinheim and Fürth was built to standard gauge), the route in Weinheim was moved in 1912, including the construction of an OEG bridge over the Main-Neckar Railway on 7 May. The old line ran straight from Stahlbad to the east – following the course of today's Breslauer Straße – to the freight yard, which it crossed by a bridge, then along Bergstraße to the north to the Pfälzer Hof inn (at the location of today's Stadthalle). The line was relocated to today's Stahlbadstraße and Mannheimer Straße for the new OEG bridge and the branch line running through Weschnitz from Bahnhofstrasse to Pfälzer Hof was dismantled.
The Battle of the Dindar River was fought near the Dinder River in 1738, between the forces of the Ethiopian Emperor Iyasu II and the Sennar army under King Badi IV. The battle was a disaster for the Ethiopians and for Iyasu.The following account, unless otherwise stated, is based on E. A. Wallis Budge, A History of Ethiopia: Nubia and Abyssinia, 1928 (Oosterhout, the Netherlands: Anthropological Publications, 1970), pp. 454f. Stung by lampoons which called him Iyasu Tannush ("Iyasu the Little", in contrast to his earlier namesake "Iyasu the Great") and described him as more interested in pursuing his pleasures and amusements than to the well-being of his own subjects, Emperor Iyasu decided to conquer the Kingdom of Sennar. He summoned the army of Ethiopia, and marched west from Gondar into Sennar, following the course of the Dindar River.
The company was authorised to raise £15,000 by the issuing of shares, and another £10,000 if required. While the major shareholders were Sir Joseph and Lord Fortescue, 294 others, mostly from the local area, bought shares. At this stage, the engineer William Jessop was asked to review the plans, and suggested two routes, one from Horncastle to Kirkstead, and the other following the course of the River Bain to Tattershall and joining the River Witham at Dogdyke. It was this latter scheme that was adopted, although Jessop's plans to build the locks to take boats of 54 ft by 14.3 ft (16.5m x 4.4m) with a draught of 3.5 ft (1m) was overruled in favour of locks 72 ft by 15 ft (22m x 4.6m), which enabled the boats already plying the River Witham and Trent to use the canal.
After passing over a fence at a makeshift stile and climbing a brief steep section of loose rock, the recommended route for walkers heads north-west as far as Coire Scamadal, 1 km north of the summit, then doubles back and heads southwards along the north side, climbing towards the summit. From this route, visible breaks in the cliffs offer tempting short cuts, but these are steep, may not save time and may not be safe. An alternative route, involving some mild scrambling, follows the rim of the south-east-facing cliffs from the top of the aforementioned steep section. Another route to or from the summit starts south-west of the car park and heads north-west to Bealach Beag, about south-west of the summit, following the course of a stream which breaches the cliffs.
San Juan Sahagun Parish, Tigbauan During the first term of Mayor of Tigbauan Myrna M. Torres in 1998, she signed an Executive Order declaring the third Friday of October every as the “Adlaw sang Tigbauan”. History tells us that because of the increase in population in Sirawagan area (the place where the Bornean datus settled), the families from the tribes of Labing-Isog and Mangwalis sought for greener pasture. Following the course of the rising sun they landed in the place which they called “Katigbawan” because of the plentiful growth of giant grasses known to them as “tigbaw”. This place was said to be Parara by word of mouth handed down from generation to generation, it is believed that the families of Labing-Isog and Mangwalis reached the place when the native feasted for bountiful rice.

Beginning in the early seventeenth century, a chain of Roman Catholic missions and settlements extended into the New Mexico region, mostly following the course of the Rio Grande from the El Paso area to Santa Fe.
Historically, the line to Aberystwyth and Llandeilo continued beyond the station across the River Towy past the site of the goods yard (now a builders yard) and then through a cutting (that has since been buried under the Carmarthen eastern by-pass dual carriageway) to as far as the former Abergwili Junction. The Aberystwyth line then turned north out to Bronwydd Arms. From Abergwili Junction northwards, the railway trackbed resumes and is owned by the preserved Gwili Railway which runs preserved trains along part of the Aberystwyth line, through the valley of the River Gwili, from Abergwili Junction, through Bronwydd Arms and Llwyfan Cerrig, to as far as Danycoed en route, close to Cynwyl Elfed. The Gwili Railway aims to restore a further of Track, again following the course of the River Gwili, past Cynwyl Elfed and further up the valley to Llanpumpsaint.
The Taff Vale Railway did not consider the GWR a friendly company, and the TVR reminded the GWR that the agreement to use Treherbert TVR station was with the R&SBR;, not the GWR: the latter had to rebrand the locomotives and renumber them in the R&SBR; stock, as 31–33, to comply. In 1906 the new trunk route to Fishguard opened, with GWR hopes of making the harbour there an ocean terminal. Congestion delaying express trains through the Swansea area was an issue, and acquiring the R&SBR; simplified the building of the Swansea District Line, a long new line avoiding Swansea altogether. The convergence (in the up direction) of the new route with the former South Wales Railway main line at Court Sart was by means of a dive-under, by following the course of the R&SBR; line.

Lac Le Gardeur is supplied with water on the northwest side by the outlet of the Sainte-Anne Ouest River (outlet of Fairchild Lake), as well as by the outlet (coming from the northeast) of Lakes Runan and MancionAtlas of Canada - Department of Natural Resources Canada - Accessed January 26, 2020.. From the mouth of Lac Le Gardeur, the current descends on following the course of the Sainte-Anne Ouest River until the confluence of the Neilson River; on south by the Bras du Nord; on south-west via the Sainte-Anne River to the northeast bank of the Saint Lawrence river.
The triumphal entry into Paris of the monarchs of Austria, Russia and Prussia on 31 March 1814, an event which led to calls for the city to be refortified. By the mid-16th century, Paris was defended by walls which had been built and rebuilt over the preceding centuries, but apart from the latest additions were largely obsolete for modern warfare and enclosed too small an area to contain the growing suburbs. In 1670, King Louis XIV ordered the demolition of all the walls surrounding Paris on the grounds that France was militarily secure and that a modern system of border fortifications had been constructed at great expense, and that like London and Madrid, Paris had become too large to fortify. Following the course of the demolished walls, the first boulevards were laid out, wide tree-lined avenues whose name is the French word for "bulwark".
Skirting round the head of the Tagdumbash Pamir, it finally merged into the Pamir Mountains boundary, and turned westwards, following the course of the Oxus, to the junction of that river and the Khanabad (Kunduz). So far as the northern boundary followed the Oxus stream, under the northern slopes of the Hindu Kush, it was only separated by the length of these slopes (some 8 or 10 miles) from the southern boundary along the crest. Thus Badakhshan reached out an arm into the Pamirs eastwards - bottle-shaped - narrow at the neck (represented by the northern slopes of the Hindu Kush), and swelling out eastwards so as to include a part of the great and little Pamirs. Before the boundary settlement of 1873 the small states of Rushan and Shugnan extended to the left bank of the Oxus, and the province of Darwaz, on the other hand, extended to the right bank.
The river starts from the south-eastern tip of the lake at the town of Peschiera del Garda and then flows from there for about past Mantua and into the river Po. From Lake Garda until it reaches Pozzolo, it forms the boundary between Veneto and Lombardy. At Mantua the Mincio was widened in the late 12th century, forming a series of three (originally four) lakes that skirt the edges of the old city. The original settlement here, dating from about 2000 BC, was on an island in the Mincio. The former lower part of the course of the Mincio flowed into the Adriatic Sea near Adria until the breach at Cucca in 589, roughly following the course of the river that is currently known by the name of Canal Bianco; it had been a waterway from the sea to the lake until then.
The original ambitious plans of Denver and Rio Grande Railway founder William J. Palmer projected a north-south narrow gauge route from Denver to Mexico City following the course of the Rio Grande for much of the distance. As early as 1878 it was reasoned that such a route would not be possible, but Palmer did receive a concession in September 1880 from the Mexican government to build a different north-south line, the National Railroad of Mexico. Initially planning to access the Territory of New Mexico via Raton Pass, a route that the AT&SF; had already begun grading for the construction of its own east-west transcontinental route, the D&RG; had to look for alternative routes to the south as its conflict with the ATSF festered. The conflict eventually resulted in the D&RG; shifting its attention to lucrative mining opportunities to the west.

"Fighting the Un-Holy Trinity: The World, the Flesh and the Devil", Catholic Online, February 14, 2010 The roots of this triad are possibly to be found in Jesus' parable of the Sower: the three scenes of unproductive soil represent "Satan" (birds eating the seed), shallow and unreceptive believers (corresponding to weak "flesh"?), and "the cares of the world and the lure of wealth" (Gospel of Mark 4:15–17). These three are also present as a triad in the Letter to the Ephesians chapter 2, verses 1–3: "You were dead through the trespasses and sins in which you once lived, following the course of this world, following the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work among those who are disobedient. All of us once lived among them in the passions of our flesh, following the desires of flesh and senses..." Many Christian sources refer to the world, the flesh, and the devil.
In 1930 in Paris, Dr Léon Galipeau examines 59-year-old Louis Martinet. Convinced that his patient has a maximum of two years to live, Galipeau convinces his brother Emile to use his 'viager' (life annuity) to buy Martinet's lovely country house in the fishing village of Saint-Tropez. (The 'viager' is a French system whereby someone with a lump sum buys a house from a person, repaying them by instalments.) Thinking Dr Galipeau is right, despite the fact that the doctor is always wrong whenever he says something (a running gag in the movie), Emile, under the advice of the notary dealing with the life annuity contract, accepts to index the 'viager' each year following the course of aluminium - a popular investment in the 1930s. Despite Dr Galipeau's repeated claims Martinet isn't long for this life, as the years go by the elderly Martinet gets better and better, and the price of the 'viager' keeps getting higher.
Another major innovation will be a new cut between the Welland, probably at Peakirk and the River Nene downstream of Peterborough, costing at least £20m and probably using the Folly River and part of either Car Dyke or Cat's Water Drain, entering the Nene near Flag Fen. From here the link will follow the existing Middle Levels through Whittlesey Dyke, King's Dyke and Vermuyden's Drain (Forty Foot Drain) to Chatteris. To avoid the existing troublesome crossing from Salter's Lode to Denver Lock a new lock would probably be provided from Vermuyden's Drain into the Old Bedford River at Welches Dam, and thence to the Great Ouse at Earith, though another possibility is to use Fenton's Lode to avoid most of the tidal section. The completion of the project would be the long-discussed Bedford and Milton Keynes Waterway canal between Bedford and Milton Keynes following the course of the Great Ouse and joining the Grand Union Canal, mooted as the "first new canal in over a century".
August Petermann The Smith Sound route was not favored by everyone; among those who rejected it was leading cartographer August Petermann, from Gotha in Germany, widely known as the "Sage of Gotha". A firm believer in the Open Polar Sea theory, he believed that the most likely portal would be found by following the Gulf Stream, which swept up the coast of Norway to the unexplored Arctic regions. Peterman thought the current would weaken or even penetrate the protective ice ring, and that a sturdily-built steamer following the course of the stream might thus be able to break through into the supposed polar sea. After two expeditions sponsored by Petermann—the German North Polar Expedition of 1869 led by Carl Koldewey, and the Austro- Hungarian North Pole Expedition of 1872 under Karl Weyprecht and Julius von Payer—had followed separate branches of the Gulf Stream but ultimately failed to break through the ice, Petermann grew dispirited.
Archaeologists excavated individual and aerial finds of the Celtic-Helvetii oppidum Lindenhof from around the 1st century BC La Tène culture, whose remains were discovered in archaeological campaigns in the years 1989, 1997, 2004 and 2007 on Lindenhof, Münsterhof and Rennweg, and also in the 1900s, but the finds mistakenly were identified as Roman objects. Not yet archaeologically proven, but suggested by the historians, as well for the first construction of the today's Münsterbrücke Limmat crossing, the present Weinplatz square was the former civilian harbour of the Celtic-Roman Turicum, and so the term Weinplatz may have kept its ancient meaning wine square. In the European Middle Ages, it was the main street of the upper town of Zürich, leading from the Rennwegtor gate in the fortifications of Zürich and passing below the Lindenhof hill towards the town hall. The site of the Rennweg gate is at the current junction of the Rennweg with the Bahnhofstrasse, the Bahnhofstrasse itself following the course of the 13th-century Fröschengraben, the inner moat that was enforced by the later built Schanzengraben.
Facing starvation and surrender, Wang Shichong decided to risk an open confrontation with Li Mi, in an attempt to push him back and break the siege. Wang selected 20,000 "elite" troops—of which only 1,000 were cavalry—from Luoyang's garrison, apparently troops who had already participated in several expeditions against rebels and bandits under his command and were especially trustworthy. In order to embolden his men, Wang—who according to Graff "had a keen interest in divination and was fond of invoking unseen powers"—now invoked the semi-mythical figure of the founder of Luoyang, the Duke of Zhou: he had a shrine erected in the Duke of Zhou's honour, and shamans declared that the Duke promised that if they marched to confront Li Mi, they would win, whereas if they remained in Luoyang, they were doomed to die of pestilence. Apparently this had the desired effect, for on 4 October 618 Wang led his army out of Luoyang and, following the course of the Luo River, marched eastward, bypassing Li Mi's forward positions.
From 1768 there were a number of grand schemes proposed, all with the aim of linking the Bristol Channel to the English Channel by a waterway, thereby avoiding the need to navigate by sea around Cornwall and Devon. James Brindley was the first to survey a route, which would have run from the Bristol Channel to Exeter, following the course of the River Tone for part of its route. In 1769, Robert Whitworth looked at a shorter route from Bridgwater Bay to Seaton, following the River Parrett and the River Axe. He was asked to reassess the route in the 1790s. William Jessop surveyed a route between Taunton and Exeter in 1794, while another group proposed a canal linking Bristol, Nailsea, Bridgwater and Taunton, which was surveyed by William White. Jessop's assistant, Josiah Easton, suggested a route from Uphill (on the Bristol Channel) to Seaton, again in 1794, and the previous two schemes sought parliamentary approval as the Grand Western Canal and the Bristol and Western Canal, respectively.
