In the Poetic Edda, Prose Edda, and Heimskringla, Hel is referred to as a daughter of Loki. In the Prose Edda book Gylfaginning, Hel is described as having been appointed by the god Odin as ruler of a realm of the same name, located in Niflheim. In the same source, her appearance is described as half blue and half flesh-coloured and further as having a gloomy, downcast appearance.

The most severe form of miliaria, miliaria profunda, sometimes referred to as "wildfire" due to the rapid spread and severe burning sensations, generally occurs as a complication of repeated episodes of miliaria rubra. The obstruction is deep in the structure of the sweat gland, causing the gland's secretions to leak between the superficial and deep layers of the skin. The rash, and associated symptoms, tend to appear within hours of an activity provoking sweating but similarly fade within hours when the stimulus for the sweating is removed. Miliaria profunda is characterised by non-pruritic, flesh-coloured, deep-seated, whitish papules.

The wool is normally white and the skin flesh-coloured with darker mottlings. In a small proportion of animals the wool is entirely black, and the skin is also black; these black-skinned sheep are resistant to the effects of the poisonous Hypericum crispum, common in the Salento, which in the white-woolled, pale-skinned sheep causes photosensitivity and thus dermatitis. The Leccese is one of the seventeen autochthonous Italian sheep breeds for which a genealogical herdbook is kept by the Associazione Nazionale della Pastorizia, the Italian national association of sheep-breeders. The herd-book was established in 1972.

All species have an eye-stripe and all except the slaty-bellied tesia have a supercilium; this is most prominent in the Javan tesia. The plumage of the chestnut-headed tesia is different from the other species; it has a bright yellow belly, chest and throat, and a deep chestnut coloured head and an incomplete white orbital ring. It lacks the facial stripes of the other species. The bill of all species is long and bicoloured, with a dark upper mandible and a flesh-coloured lower one, as well as strong ridge on the upper mandible.

Yuri Slonimsky writes in his book The Bolshoi Ballet (Second edition 1960, p.8) on the history of character dance: Folk traditions have been incorporated into what is known as ballet for centuries but it was not until Aleksandr Shirayev, Assistant to Marius Petipa, that character dance became a unique and codified art-form that takes its rightful place as an integral part of classical ballet. Character dances are usually performed in shoes or boots, with a suede sole and a small heel. Men typically wear black character shoes and women typically wear a flesh coloured shoe with a larger, more feminine heel, but sometimes black shoes too.

The wingspan is 35–38 mm. Forewing flesh coloured ochreous densely dusted with grey atoms; the veins slightly paler; the upper half of cell and of submedian interval often paler without dusting, the streak in cell continued to margin; sometimes a darker streak in lower half of cell also continued to termen; hindwing dark grey, with pale fringe; -impudens Hbn. is a less marked grey form, without reddish tinge;- rufescens Tutt is a rare British form, bright rosy red, with pale grey dusting; striata Tutt darker, with the grey intervals blackish.Seitz, A. He wanted to conceal the joint between his wig and forehead, so he developed a flesh-coloured paste made of zinc white, ochre, and vermillion in lard. This formulation was so popular with other actors that Baudin began producing it commercially, and, as such, gave birth to the first theatrical makeup. This would be the standard for theatrical make-up until 1914 when makeup artist Max Factor created Flexible Greasepaint that was more reflective of the lighting on movie sets. Although make-up would evolve dramatically from Baudin's invention, theatrical make-up is, to this day, not too far removed from the original blend of fats and pigment.

As a result, the nose colour of most yellow Labradors becomes a somewhat pink shade as they grow older. A colouration known as "Dudley" is also possible. Dudleys are variously defined as yellow Labradors which have unpigmented (pink) noses (LRC), yellow with liver/chocolate pigmentation (AKC), or "flesh coloured" in addition to having the same colour around the rims of the eye, rather than having black or dark brown pigmentation. A yellow Labrador with brown or chocolate pigmentation, for example, a brown or chocolate nose, is not necessarily a Dudley, though according to the AKC's current standard it would be if it has chocolate rims around the eyes (or more accurately of the genotype eebb).

Egan was the captain of the Australian team at the 1980 Arnhem Paralympics, where He won two bronze medals in the Men's 100 m C and Men's 400 m C events.. Retrieved 6 October 2012. At the 1984 New York Games, he won a gold medal in the men’s 4×100 m relay A4–9 event, a silver medal in the men's 4×400 m relay A4–9 event, and a bronze medal in the Men's 100 m A4 event. In 1984 he became the first person to remove the flesh-coloured covering from his prosthetic leg to improve its performance in competition. He competed in athletics at the 1988 Seoul Paralympics, after which he retired from competition.

Just before the vagina reaches the duct of the spermatheca and oviduct, it gives off a branch which sinks into the female channel, and so far may be looked upon as a portion of the oviduct, for it is by this branch that the eggs find their way to the female outlet. The mucous gland for the secretion of the mucus-like envelope of the eggs, is composed of two lateral lobes separated on the upper surface by a deep fissure. These lobes are semipellucid and are formed of a coarsely convoluted tube, that is on its right side anterior portion opake and flesh-coloured. The two lobes open into the female channel, which is wide and quite long.

The Tahiti rail was similar to the buff-banded rail in the pattern of the nape and supercilium, and its spots and bars, but was otherwise generally distinct from other members of its genus. Forster's plate (which Fuller described as "rather crude" yet "explicit") became the basis for other depictions of the bird, by artists such as John Gerrard Keulemans (1907), Fenwick Lansdowne (1977), and Hume (2012). Keulemans' illustration was made for the 1907 book Extinct Birds (before Forster's original had been published) by Rothschild, who pointed out that the legs had been painted too brightly red in the new adaptation, when they should instead have been flesh-coloured. Keulemans also depicted bars on the tail covert feathers not shown in the original, according to Ripley.

The wingspan is 35–40 mm. Forewing in male pale grey or ochreous grey, in female dark grey, generally more or less irrorated with dark grey; orbicular and reniform stigmata with pale outlines, filled up with grey, the lower half of reniform dark grey; outer line marked by black dots on veins, the inner mostly obsolete; submarginal line ochreous or rufous, sometimes preceded by a dark shade; hindwing in male whitish, becoming grey towards termen, and blackish immediately before the pale fringe, in female wholly grey; - pallida Stph. is a whitish form with hardly any dusting; - in rosea Tutt the ground colour is flesh coloured; - rufescens Cockll is red- brown; - the Japanese form ella Btlr.[now a full species Orthosia ella] differs only in being more strongly marked, sometimes with a red-brown flush.

S. obsoleta Hbn. (25 h, i). Forewing greyish ochreous, dusted with black; veins whitish defined by blackish lines and with black streaks in the intervals; a distinct white point at lower angle of cell; an outer series of dark dashes on veins, sometimes an inner one too; hindwing whitish with veins and terminal area fuscous : — the female is much less grey than the male ; in some cases the grey scales are much developed between the veins and along the cell of forewing, and form the aberrations nigrostriata Tutt (25 i) and grisea Tutt, according as the ground colour is tinged with reddish, or remains grey. Larva yellowish grey with a flesh coloured tinge; dorsal and subdorsal lines fine, whitish; the space between them freckled with dark; spiracular line pale; spiracles white with black rings.Warren.

Those of subspecies versicolor average in size and are a pale brown or buff with shades of pink or wine tones, and are marked with streaks or splotches of darker brown, purple-brown, slate-grey or even blue-tinged. Those of the black-winged currawong are similarly sized at and are buff or flesh-coloured with a purple tint and marked with darker browns or purple-browns. The clinking currawong lays larger and paler eggs of dull white, pale grey or buff with a faint wine-colour tint, and marked with darker tones of purple-, grey- or blue-tinged brown, which average . The eggs of the brown currawong are also pale wine-tinted brown, buff, or cream with darker markings of cinnamon, brown or purple-brown, and measure .

On 2 April 2015, a video for the song was released on Sia's Vevo YouTube channel. The video features Maddie Ziegler in her trademark flesh-coloured leotard and blonde Sia bob facing the camera, in front of a black background, contorting her face and using her hands to express a slew of emotions. At one point a pair of hands come into the frame (shown in behind-the-scenes footage to be Sia's own hands) manipulating Ziegler's face and covering her mouth, they appear to lift Ziegler by the throat into the air until only her kicking feet are shown, then Ziegler drops back into the frame to resume her emotive facial contortions. The single shot video with various lighting and a plain black background is comparable to Lorde's "Tennis Court".

The wingspan is 20–21 mm. The forewings are pale ochreous grey with the costal edge, inner margin, and all veins obscurely lined with dull flesh colour. There is a fuscous dot beneath the costa at one-sixth and a dark fuscous dot on the fold before the middle, and a second in the disc at two-thirds, as well as three very obscure dull flesh-coloured transverse lines, the first from one-third of the costa, becoming obsolete beneath, the second from the middle of the costa to the anal angle, very strongly angulated in the middle, the third from three-fourths of the costa to the anal angle, strongly curved above the middle. There is a row of well-defined dark fuscous dots along the hindmargin and apical part of the costa.

She wears numerous outfits and blonde wigs throughout the video as she emulates the clothes from A Clockwork Orange by wearing a white bowler hat and cane from Laird Hatters, sporting a smoky eye in homage, and smacking her pink pouty lips with bubble gum. High says that Odin sent the gods to gather the children and bring them to him. Upon their arrival, Odin threw Jörmungandr into "that deep sea that lies round all lands," Odin threw Hel into Niflheim, and bestowed upon her authority over nine worlds, in that she must "administer board and lodging to those sent to her, and that is those who die of sickness or old age." High details that in this realm Hel has "great Mansions" with extremely high walls and immense gates, a hall called Éljúðnir, a dish called "Hunger," a knife called "Famine," the servant Ganglati (Old Norse "lazy walker"Orchard (1997:79).), the serving-maid Ganglöt (also "lazy walker"), the entrance threshold "Stumbling-block," the bed "Sick-bed," and the curtains "Gleaming-bale." High describes Hel as "half black and half flesh-coloured," adding that this makes her easily recognizable, and furthermore that Hel is "rather downcast and fierce-looking."Faulkes (1995:27).

After experiencing early success, she exhibited her dolls at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, winning a Grand Prize for Innovation and helping establish a nationwide market for her product, and later displayed dolls at the Southeastern Fair in Atlanta, Ga. and at Jamestown Exposition. She received a patent for her design in 1905, in which she described her doll as follows: :“I made the body or trunk, the arms, legs and feet of stuffed fabric and apply over the feet and hands and as high up on the legs and arms as desirable one or more coats of flesh-coloured and preferably water-proof paint. The head, face, neck and bust are also fabric-covered, and the neck or bust is secured to the trunk by suitable stitching. The outer fabric of the face covers and conforms to the curvature of a backing moulded to conform to the contour of the human face.

One of those cases was in the early days of the construction of the original Estádio da Luz, when club president Joaquim Ferreira Bogalho asked them for free concrete to build the stadium. They responded by offering 900,000 tons. During the Portuguese Estado Novo, the Censorship Services prohibited newspapers from referring to the football team as ' (Reds) so it was not confused with communism, instead being referred as ' (Flesh-coloured), which is still used, even after the transition to democracy. There are three different types of supporters: one is the ' or club member, who is eligible to vote in the presidential election of the club and other matters; the Houses ('), which are closely affiliated with the ', are fan-clubs which have an eligible vote decided by the House leaders; and the ordinary fans of the club, who do not possess any formal membership. In 2005, club president Luís Filipe Vieira implemented an aggressive membership campaign with the intent of reaching 300,000 members.
