Bourne Alder Carr is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Sevenoaks in Kent. The River Bourne runs through a shallow valley, and frequent flushing of the woodland on the banks with water rich in nutrients creates a rich ground flora. There is also an area of swamp around a fish pond. Roads and footpaths go through this site.

Holašovice is a typical Bohemian village for the Hlubocká Blatská area around České Budějovice. It consists of 23 brick farmyards containing 120 buildings, each with their gable end facing a central broad village green, with a fish pond and chapel. The town was first mentioned in 1259 as a hamlet and a redoubt on the salt road from Austria to Prague. Emperor Charles IV gave it the status of a town in 1362. In the 15th century, the town saw many fires and was looted by the Hussites. It was Petr Vok from the House of Rosenberg, a famous fish pond founder and supporter, who let the town grow again a hundred years later.

The Flying Bridge Across the Fish Pond was built during the Song Dynasty, which is famous for its cross-shaped structure.

Short Hills Provincial Park, located along the northern border of Pelham, is a wildlife preserve of 6.6 square kilometres. It once consisted of a valley filled with sedimentary deposits and glacial till, until Twelve Mile Creek sliced through, forming the "Short Hills." In addition there is also St. John's Conservation area, which has a fish pond and a set of trails. Pelham is a good location for avid golfers, having a steadily growing number of golf courses.

Fuller was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. While he was in junior high school, he built a small pond in the backyard of his parents' house. Fuller first visited Disneyland when he was fourteen, and was inspired to expand the fish pond with lagoons and underwater tunnels, using an old washing machine pump. He credits that as his first fountain, built with the help of his grandfather and lit by lights using tomato juice cans.

The sexton planned for several fountains to be added to Woodland, and set aside the large circle in the middle of the cemetery for the largest fountain. Reggie Miller Square (Wesgħa Reggie Miller) is an open space decorated with palm trees to the right side of the Parish Church. The original site had been developed into a garden which was inaugurated on 28 March 1976 by Minister Lorry Sant. Reggie Miller was a trade unionist and the founder of the General Workers' Union, the strongest trade union in Malta. The original garden featured a fish pond and a sundial designed by Paul Ignatius Micallef.

Billy Elliot (died 1941) was an Australian Jockey. He rode the Thoroughbred racehorse Phar Lap on seven occasions for seven wins, including his last race in the 1932 Agua Caliente Handicap in Mexico. Billy Elliot built a solid double-brick home at 198 Kambrook Road Caulfield South, not far from Caulfield racecourse and it stands to this day. Modern in its time it had an hydraulic operated clothesline plus pop-up lawn sprinklers and a fish pond out the back yard.

It is believed that Geoffrey Chaucer wrote part of The Canterbury Tales while staying at the house. Between 1648 and 1726 it was owned by the Bacon family who turned some the land, which had been part of Petherton Park, into gardens, orchards and a fish pond. It has been the family seat of the Slade baronets since 1772, when it was bought at auction for £3,000. Between 1772 and 1868 wings were added to the north and west of the original building.

Its area is 4.89 square kilometres, and has a maximum depth is 12.3 m, making it the largest pond of Central Europe. The pond was designed and built under guidance of Jakub Krčín, working for the Bohemian aristocratic family of the House of Rožmberk and it is named after that family.

In 1866, the city council's Committee on Parks and Public Grounds studied the issue of adding fountains and ponds to the cemetery, and approved of both. (The committee even recommended that wastewater from the larger fountain be used to support water to a fish pond anticipated for construction to its east). A large Black Bamboo, enclosing secluded pathways with stone edgings, screens the adjacent service garden compartment to the south of the residence. The composite fish culture system is a technology developed in India by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in the 1970s. In this system, of both local and imported fish, a combination of five or six fish species is used in a single fish pond. These species are selected so that they do not compete for food among them by having different types of food habitats. As a result, the food available in all the parts of the pond is used.

Tin Shui Wai New Town is in the northwestern New Territories of Hong Kong. Originally a gei wai fish pond area, it was developed in the 1980s as the second new town in Yuen Long District and the eighth in Hong Kong. It is due northwest of Central, on land reclaimed from low-lying areas south of Deep Bay, next to historic Ping Shan. The population was 292,000 in 2014, while the total projected population for when the town is fully built-out is about 306,000.

Yuquan (玉泉 in Chinese), one of the well-known scenic spots in Hangzhou, has a large fish pond alive with hundreds of carp of various colors. A three-character inscription, Yu-Le- Guo (鱼乐国), meaning "fish's paradise", is set above one end of the pond in the calligraphy of a famous gentry-scholar of the late Ming Dynasty named Dong Qichang (). Many tourists feed the fish with bread crumbs. Among the various kinds of carp, the silver carp is least expensive in China.

The town has two principal parks and one parkland estate known as Panteg House (home of Panteg Cricket Club, Panteg Football Club, Panteg House Bowls Club and Pontypool Boules team). Griffithstown Park near Sunnybank Road contains an adventure playground and basketball courts, but is mostly grass. Panteg Park on Cwrdy Road (known as "The Fish Pond Park" due to its water feature) is smaller with elaborate flower gardens, bowling green, tennis courts and golf putting greens. Panteg House is home to a cricket pitch and football pitch.

Yell Leaders are five students who lead the crowd in yells during the games. The team consists of three seniors and two juniors elected by the student body. The Yell Leaders take the place of traditional "cheerleaders" and perform many of the same functions without the gymnastics and dance routines. They also participate in post-game activities such as being thrown in the Fish Pond if the team wins, or leading the student body in the singing of The Twelfth Man if the team loses.

The Tamar Otter and Wildlife Centre has European and Asian short-clawed otters and a medium-sized duck pond, a nature trail including snowy and barn owls and other birds along it. Two excavated trenches yielded sherds of medieval pottery, corroded iron nail, a possible knife blade, fragments of copper-alloy artifacts, a possible ceramic crucible, and a Neolithic tangled flint arrowhead. They also revealed an outer ditch and compacted layers of organic material, suggesting the presence of a fish pond. Small earthworks to the south and east of the priory are thought to have been turf-built cellular buildings and the remnants of corn-drying kilns.

In 1777 the Oxford Canal was being extended southwards past Clattercote from Fenny Compton in Warwickshire to Cropredy in Oxfordshire,Compton, 1976, page 25 and the canal company enlarged the great fish pond to form Clattercote Reservoir to feed the canal. In 1787 the company enlarged the reservoir to its present area of . There is a Clattercote Wharf on the canal about east of Priory Farm. There are a couple of sources which state the bridge spans Clayton Fish Pond, but that is over a mile (2 kilometers) west of the park along a rural section of Hinds Road. Built in 1899, the 85-foot (26 m) bridge is a Stringer construction over a single span. Its current WGCB number is 01-28-C, formerly 01-28-02. Although most sources spell the second part of the name as "Reese," it is actually named after the town of Reece City where the bridge was originally located.

The manor of this village survives at Hall Farm as a farm building with some medieval features, and an adjacent farm building was probably once an early 16th-century house. Apart from these buildings, the abandoned village is indicated by earthworks of a medieval moated site and enclosures. There are also indications of three fish ponds, of which one is still a duck pond, and two contain rubbish; however it is now thought that there was originally a single fish pond. One of the supposed fish ponds is among the farm buildings and is overgrown.

Mineral Well Park is a two-acre section located on the east side of the Bear River, and running from the West Mitchell Street Bridge north to West Lake Street. The park is a level section of grassland with a few large trees and shrubs. It contains cement pathways leading to the park pavilion. Grouped around the pavilion are the low, capped, cylindrical, fieldstone wells from which the park takes its name, and a retaining wall surrounding the former fish pond, which contains a bronze fountain in its center.

Further east, off the Whitby Road, is the Monks' Pond, the canons' fish pond. It presents a dramatic vista in which the priory arch is reflected and has often been photographed and painted. Mount Kupe specimens were found calling from emergent vegetation of a fish pond adjacent to a large stream; some specimens were found at a pond located in semi-disturbed habitat consisting of primary forest and cocoa plantation. The meteor was also referred to as the "Buzzard Coulee fireball", named after the area where searchers found the first fragments. Buzzard Coulee is located approximately from the Battle River valley. The first pieces of the rock were found by Ellen Milley, a University of Calgary Master's student on November 27, 2008. Milley was a part of a team working with Dr. Alan Hildebrand, University of Calgary professor and Canadian Research Chair in Planetary Science in the ice of a fish pond about south east of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, near the hamlet of Lone Rock.

On the footpath in front of the house stand a very tall river gum.

In a medieval castle, a garderobe was usually a simple hole discharging to the outside into a cesspit (akin to a pit latrine) or the moat (like a fish pond toilet), depending on the structure of the building. Such toilets were often placed inside a small chamber, leading by association to the use of the term garderobe to describe the rooms.

If the team is victorious, the freshmen in the Corps of Cadets capture the Yell Leaders on Kyle Field and march them across campus to be dunked in Fish Pond. The wet Yell Leaders then make their way to the YMCA Building, where the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and members of the crowd join them for a short yell practice in preparation for the next week's game.

The cricket pavilion is at the western edge, backing onto Walliscote Road. Part of the southern edge of the lawn is marked out for use as a croquet pitch; croquet matches are frequently held during the summer months. During recent years, this eastern section of Clarence Park has been used as a drop-off and pickup zone for the T4 on the Beach music event. The western section of the park is laid out as a more formal park with mature trees, flower beds, lawned areas, and a fish pond with fountain.

By comparing the Ballybeg dovecot with other surviving examples in Ireland, it is possible to gauge the importance of the priory in relation to other contemporary religious houses: the dovecot attached to the Trinitarian priory in Adare, County Limerick, for example, is much smaller, indicating a religious house of proportions a good deal more modest than those of Ballybeg. In France, the medieval ordinances concerning dovecots were only abolished in 1789. Another indication of the priory's importance is the remains of a fish-pond. As with dovecots, fish- ponds were reserved to landowners.

It featured neoclassical architecture and was meant to resemble the White House but was painted a light tan color. This home had expansive gardens and a fish pond. By 1950, however, the mansion was in severe disrepair and the state legislature authorized funds for a new residence that same year. Before the second home's construction, and dating back to the period of Spanish colonization, governors of New Mexico resided at the Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe. This adobe structure, constructed in 1610, remains standing today and is now a museum and tourist attraction.

The piscina is a Latin word originally applied to a fish-pond, and later used for natural or artificial pools for bathing, and also for a water tank or reservoir. In ecclesiastical usage it was applied to the basin used for ablutions and sometimes other sacraments. They were originally named for the baptismal font. Piscinae seem at first to have been mere cups or small basins, supported on perforated stems, placed close to the wall, and afterwards to have been recessed therein and covered with niche heads, which often contained shelves to serve as ambries.

The fireplace had mirrors at the top and inside that reflected sunlight to a prism that could be situated to reflected different colored lights to the inside. During WWII there were concerns that Schuck might be signaling German planes and he was arrested and jailed for three days. The FBI issued a press release that he was not a German spy but he filled the fireplace with concrete. There were individual balconies on the bedrooms complete with outdoor bathtubs, and a fish pond on the third floor balcony.

The Newbury Town House is located near the geographic center of Newbury, in a rural setting on the east side of Scotch Hollow Road, roughly midway between its junctions with Fish Pond Road and Halls Lake Road. It is set back from the road, between two cemetery parcels. It is a fairly plain single-story wood frame structure, with a gabled roof, clapboarded exterior, and stone foundation. The principal adornment on the exterior is its entrance surround, which consists of pilasters rising to bullseye blocks and a header with a protruding central pyramidal section flanked by paneled blocks.

In an 1821 account, prior to the entrenchment of sugarcane plantations in Aiea, the area is described as belonging to many different people and being filled with taro and banana plantations along with a fish pond. This subsistence farming would not last long. Plantations were strategically located throughout the Hawaiian Islands for reasons including: fertile soil area, level topography, sufficient water for irrigation, and a mild climate with little annual variation.

Clonmoyle House and its demesne are depicted on the 1841 surveyed OS Map, to include a fish pond, weir, waterfall and wooden bridge. By the mid-nineteenth century, the Primary Valuation of Ireland (Griffith's Valuation) records Jonathan Bruce as occupier of Clonmoyle, comprising c. 37 acres and described as a 'house, offices, gate lodge and land', with the lessor being Charles Colthurst. During the second half of the nineteenth century, the house was occupied by Henry Leader, builder of nearby Leader's Aqueduct, and whose exploits were said to include a local furze mill for the fattening of pigs.

The peristyle has a portico on three sides and different areas including an oecus (lost following a landslide), and several scenic areas that looked out on the sea. On the west side there is a square fish pond with lead pipes and water spouts. The south side is a pseudo- portico adorned with columns resting on a wall, behind which lies the baths that includes a caldarium with a bathtub, a tepidarium also with tub and garden and a laconicum with domed roof and a kitchen. Burghfield Brook rises from a series of springs on Wokefield Common, near the end of Bundes Lane. The emergent brook heads eastwards along the northern edge of Wokefield Common, passing through two small lakes and into a small valley called Burghfield Slade, to reach a reservoir of water to the south of Auclum Copse. The brook marks the border between Burghfield to the north and Wokefield to the south. A second source issues from the ground to the south-west of the springs, and flows eastwards across the common to Pullen's Pond, a small fish pond.

Roughly into the town, the route bends slightly to the east and intersects with the northern terminus of CR 4 (Fish Pond Road), which intersected NY 12E back in the town of Cape Vincent. Past the junction with CR 4, NY 12E bends back to the northeast, passing more riverside residences and a handful of farms before entering the village of Clayton. In the village, NY 12E becomes known as State Street as it crosses over an inlet from the St. Lawrence River. Remains include the abbey church to the east of the cloister, with two small spaces adjacent - one of which is now known as the Black Hag's Cell but which appears to have been a sacristy - a refectory to the south, and a vaulted building to the west. From the refectory a later building projects south towards a stream; it may have been a kitchen. There are also walls and a gate, and traces of an orchard, a fish pond and a pigeon house. The church and cloister walls were assessed as being of similar age, and their windows dated to the 13th century.

There are quite a few vernacular buildings constructed in the South Bohemian Folk or Rural Baroque style in Skály, whose gable ends are facing a central village green, with a fish pond and a chapel. The buildings date from the 18th to 20th century, with most of them built in the second half of the 19th century. Therefore the village has been designated as a Czech heritage site. The village lies in a fairly downy landscape, some 387 meters above the sea level, with a brook flowing along it on its way to the nearby Blanice river.

Penshurst Farm was built and owned by Percival Roberts, scion of the Welsh family led by John Roberts that founded Lower Merion in 1682. Penshurst straddled Hagy's Ford Road and Conshohocken State Road and extended through the hollow down to the banks of the Schuylkill River. The 75-room mansion built in 1903 was known for its magnificent English gardens and Old World ornamental fountains, a fish pond, and a terraced stairway, elements of which still stand as components of the residence that was subsequently built upon the property. The original mansion generated its own electricity, and its plumbing system was self- sufficient.

The name Friars' Carse derives from a monastic settlement which was established nearby by the Cistercian monks of Melrose in the 13th century. Carse Loch is located nearby and was once used as the monastic fish pond and its crannog was used as a hiding place for valuables durings times of war or raids. The present punctuation convention for Friars Carse, with or without the apostrophe, is at variance with the older convention of Friars' Carse; the 'Carse of the Friars'. By the 16th century, there was a tower here, with a cap-house surrounded by a prominent parapet (see engraving).

In January 2006, the man in the photographs, Malcolm McCauley, told Adelaide Now that he had visited Corby in Bali twice in 2005 – but only as a tourist offering support during her drugs trial. McCauley said he first met Corby at her court hearing in May 2005. He said Corby's mother invited him to visit Corby at Kerobokan Prison the following day. Despite claims that the photos had been taken prior to Corby's arrest, McCauley said the photos were taken at an empty fish pond at the prison where the two were permitted by prison guards to sit and talk.

John-Freeman Mitford Asthall Manor is a vernacular two-storey house with attics, built of local Cotswold limestone on an irregular H-plan with mullioned and mullioned-transomed windows and a stone-slated roof typical of the area. There are records of a house on the site since 1272 when Richard, 1st Earl of Cornwall, owned a house on the site worth 12d. In 1304 the curia, garden and fish pond were valued at 10 shillings. The core of the current building at Asthall was built in 1620 for Sir William Jones on the site of the mediaeval hall.

Pittville Park provides 33ha (82 acres) of parkland, including an ornamental lake with elegant bridges dating from 1827 and a boating lake, formerly known as Capper's Fish Pond. It was named after Robert Capper, owner of Marle Hill House, the grounds of which now constitute the western part of the Pittville Park.

At the southeast corner of the former village is a fish pond that cuts through the closes of some of the former cottage sites, and may have been created after the village was abandoned. Lower Radstone was abandoned some time between the 15th and 18th centuries: in the latter it was recorded that "the footsteps of the old demolished town are still remaining". In the southeast of the parish by Fox Covert is a low mound, about across and high, with an indication of a pit or post-hole at its centre. This indicates that the mound was created as the base for a medieval post mill.

The Hulēia National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. It is adjacent to the Menehune Fish Pond, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, on the southeast side of the island. The Hulēia Refuge is approximately of bottomlands and wooded slopes along the Hulēia River. It was established in 1973 to provide open, productive wetlands as nesting and feeding habitat for endangered Hawaiian waterbirds, including the āeo (Hawaiian stilt, Himantopus mexicanus knudseni), alae kea (Hawaiian coot, Fulica alai), alae ula (Hawaiian gallinule, Gallinula chloropus sandvicensis), and koloa maoli (Hawaiian duck, Anas wyvilliana) can be found here.

South Pond South Pond is the second oldest structure in Midhurst, second only to St. Ann's Castle: it is thought to have been dammed in the early 12th century as a fish-pond for the Castle. To the west the South Mill was in existence by 1284, and used initially to grind corn. In 1634 it was converted to a fulling mill, and in the mid-1800s it was converted again to leather production. The pond is prone to silting due to its underlying greensand geology, and has in recent years become polluted and lifeless, in large part due to over-population of ducks as a result of artificial feeding.

0001 Around 1805, the lease was acquired by Joseph Watts, who drained the fish pond and constructed Baldwin Street on that part of the site. From that point, the 22 km-long canal is known as the Progarska Jarčina. It receives the Krivaja river from the left and at the village of Ašanja, north of the Obedska bara bog, the canal turns east and leaves Vojvodina and enters the Belgrade City area, where it empties into the Sava at the village of Progar (municipality of Surčin), at an altitude of 70 m. In this section, the canal flows through the Podlužje sub-region of the region of Srem, next to the Živača lake and swamp, used for the Boljevci fish pond. The canal also marks the western border of the Belgrade's marshy forest of Bojčinska šuma.

The village had a voigt (a certain Konarski) as late as 1565, and was populated by no more than 7 families of peasants. By 1589 the village had 48 male inhabitants (eligible for levy) and two inns paying a yearly rent of 78 Polish guilders. Some time before that date a mill and a fish pond were constructed in the village. As part of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria in 1880 there were only a handful of houses along the road linking Przemyśl with Mościska (today Mostyska), with time the village grew to 1036 inhabitants (including 825 Ruthenians, 237 Poles and 63 Jews).

Ding Yuehua and his two brothers Ding Zhaolan and Ding Zhaohui arrived later looking for Zhan, and Zhan escaped from the trap. Finally Zhan discovered that Bai was not the rapist, and Jiang remembered overhearing a plot by Hua to rape Princess Yong'an during her visit to a monastery. The heroes and gallants arrived in the monastery to rescue the princess, only to discover it was filled with rebellious priests.

The festival lasts four days and fireworks are launched every night. For the rest of the year when the festival is not on, there is a small theme park dedicated to Chunhyang (Namwon Tourist Complex) complete with hypothetical dwellings and surroundings that someone like Chunhyang would have had (a mock house and yard). There are other sights in the park unrelated to Chunhyang such as a fish pond where visitors are free to feed the fish and some old-fashioned swings and horseshoe-style throwing games. Outside the park, along the river bank, there are also mini paddle boats that people can rent to traverse the small river.

Near the town of Temerin, the Jegrička forms an arc to the north, flows next to the Gospođinci village and into the marshes of Žabalj to the south, where its waters are used for the Jegrička fish pond, with an area of . The river continues eastward, on the northern side of the Jurišna humka hillock () and empties into the Tisa. The Jegrička used to be a slow, intermittent water flow, connecting a series of marshes and bogs which in the periods of high waters spilled over and flew like a real river, reaching the Tisa. Today, the complete first section of the river bed () is channelled.

Remnants of the Japanese era reservoir at Chien-Cheng Circle. The circle started out as a fish pond at the intersections of the two roads which the Japanese Government at the planted with trees at the edges and turned into a park. Due to its location, the park attracted a wide variety of cart-based food vendors turning it into the most popular night market in northern Taiwan during the Japanese rule, with the vendors operating well beyond 4am. A bomb shelter was also constructed there during World War II and the pond used as a reservoir for water to put out fires from air raids.

The Kahaluu Taro Loi Historic District, also known as the Āhuimanu Taro Complex, in Kahaluu on the windward side of Oʻahu, is the most complex and largest intact system of terraces for growing wetland taro on Oʻahu. It contains at least 18 loi (pondfield) terraces once watered by Āhuimanu Stream and associated auwai (irrigation ditches) over about that start from headwaters just below the cliffs of the Koolau Range. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, after windward residents raised concerns about development plans in the area. The Kahaluu Fish Pond was also added to the National Register at that time.

Notable parks are Chippawa Park, an older, well- developed park in the northwest; Memorial Park, a newer park in the southeast which has been shrunk for suburban development; and Merritt Island Park along the canal with an upper level paved trail and lower level gravel trail. Chippawa Park has rolling hills, mature specimen trees (predominantly Carolinian, including several species of Hickory and Maple), playgrounds, a large pond, and small ornamental fish pond in a formal rose garden. It features a large war memorial carved from Lacasse granite and designed by a famous Canadian sculptor, Elizabeth Wyn Wood. Memorial Park was a project of the 1967 Centennial.

His rights to the title and manor being confirmed by a Royal Commission that reported in 1607. It was he who built the second house, running down the slope of the shallow valley towards the fish pond, at right angles to the original one. In a party-wall on the ground floor of this building there is carved, on a lintel over a door leading from the main-hall to a smaller room, the initials I.A. and the date 1585. The lower end of the house is now used as a craft metal workshop, and the upper, which was restored and altered, once in 1759 and again exactly two hundred years later, is still inhabited.

Upper Richardson Lake and Lower Richardson Lake are impounded as a single reservoir by Middle Dam at the outlet to Rapid River on the western shore of the lower lake. Rapid River flows to Umbagog Lake headwaters of the Androscoggin River. Upper Richardson Lake is in the western portion of Richardsontown township, and the lower lake is on the border of Magalloway Plantation and Maine township C. Primary inflow is discharge over Upper Dam on Mooselookmeguntic Lake on the eastern shore of the upper lake. Smaller tributaries entering the north end of the upper lake include Mill Brook draining the Richardson Ponds, Fish Brook draining Fish Pond, and Beaver Brook draining Beaver Pond, Little Beaver Pond, and Aziscohos Pond.

The main sculpture contains four separate enigmatic messages, three of which have been deciphered. In addition to the main part of the sculpture, Jim Sanborn also placed other pieces of art at the CIA grounds, such as several large granite slabs with sandwiched copper sheets outside the entrance to the New Headquarters Building. Several morse code messages are found on these copper sheets, and one of the stone slabs has an engraving of a compass rose pointing to a lodestone. Other elements of Sanborn's installation include a landscaped garden area, a fish pond with opposing wooden benches, a reflecting pool, and other pieces of stone including a triangle shaped black stone slab.

In later years, this gym was converted into a student center, complete with administration offices, campus security offices, a book store and coffee house. It was torn down in 2004 to make way for the new Hasty Student Life Center. In 1949, Reinhardt College hosted a Conservation Field Day, billed as a "one-day Master Soil Conservation 'Face-lifting Demonstration'", where the college added fifty acres of land to its property, built four buildings for various uses, constructed a one-acre fish pond and ten-acre athletic field, and put up five miles of fences. The highlight of the day was a speech given to 50,000 people by U.S. Vice President Alben W. Barkley.

An orchard had also been planted behind Great Allington House with some wooded parkland to the south extending beyond the Eastleigh to Fareham railway line, with the rest of the surrounding land given over to arable farming. The estate as a whole was by this time called Allington Farm. In 1861 Allington was recorded as a tithing of South Stoneham and included the West End ecclesiastical district, including parts of Shamblehurst and Townhill Park. The 1869–90 Ordnance Survey map indicates an orchard, formal garden and heavy planting in front of the Great Allington House and around the fish pond, with the ornamental parkland only extending as far as the railway line.

Map of the pond and surrounding area Ečka fish pond is located in western Banat region, some 10 km south of the city of Zrenjanin, and is entirely contained within its administrative territory. The lake system runs in general northeast-southwest direction, in total length of about 10 km, parallel to the regulated flow of the Begej. The maximal width is around 1 km at Belo jezero, and the total area of the lakes is 15.42 km2 (21.57 km2 according to another source). The system consists of 46 lakes and reservoirs, the four major ones being, from east to west, Belo jezero (4.59 km2), Koča jezero (2.59 km2), Mika jezero (1.88 km2) and Joca jezero (3.72 km2).

The ponds in the private gardens of Manor House, and the existing fish pond (since enlarged) may have had their origins as Saxon ponds. Local knowledge suggest that the village burnt down, but as yet there is not collaborative evidence. Nortoft Cottage, which has a very old cob cottage at its heart is thought to be the only remaining building of the original Nortoft, so might have its origins as part of the Saxon settlement. A cell of Premonstratensian canons was founded at Kalendar or Kayland (on the border of Guilsborough and Cottesbrooke Parishes near Nortoft), probably soon after Sulby Abbey (c1155), and as it does not appear in the taxation of 1291, had probably ceased by then.

The renovation projects of Louis XV were more ambitious than those of Louis XIV. To create more lodging for his enormous number of courtiers In 1737–38 the King built a new courtyard, called the Cour de la Conciergerie or the Cour des Princes, to the east of the Galerie des Cerfs. On the Cour du Cheval Blanc, the wing of the Gallery of Ulysses was torn down and gradually replaced by a new brick and stone building, built in stages in 1738–1741 and 1773–74, extending west toward the Pavilion and grotto of the pines. Between 1750 and 1754, the King commissioned the architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel to build a new wing along the Cour de la Fontaine and the fish pond.

It was wide by deep, with two bridges, built to allow boats to travel along its length; one near the river, the other across the Wawne Road, At the river bank a watermill was made by the monks of Meaux which was driven by differences in height of water between river and drain at both low and high tides. In order to maintain the Foredike as a waterway a second parallel dike was cut, Sutton- dyk. At the river end of these waterways there was a mill pond also used as a fish pond. Archaeological and documentary evidence indicates human activity in the medieval period was focused in the south-west corner of the area, near the medieval mill; the physical evidence includes earthworks and pottery finds.

In the 1890s, developments included the general hospital, the Roman Catholic Church of St. Mary's, and the imposing Park Terrace and nearby large villas. The filling in of the former fish pond marked at Bryant's Field allowed the development of Penydarren Park between 1902 and 1905, during which additional excavation of the Roman fort was undertaken by Frank Treharne-James. This also allowed the development of the terraces along Gwaelod-y-Garth lane, including Stuart, Cromwell, and Tudor. By 1910, the Edwardian Baroque YMCA and the Masonic Temple had been completed, and post World War I Penydarren had become Merthyr Tydfil's premier middle-class suburb, with the addition of further terraces north and south of Dane Street, and properties along the Grove.

Gandalf explains his concerns about Gollum's knowledge of the Ring falling into enemy hands, and asks Aragorn to find the creature with his tracking skills. After initially having little luck, Aragorn crosses paths with a fellow ranger and distant kinsman named Arithir (Arin Alldridge), a Ranger of the North, who reports hearing rumours about a creature that has been stealing fish from open windows in local villages; the movie cuts to a scene of Gollum doing just that, and eating his ill-gotten gain atop the roof. Aragorn and Arithir part ways, and Aragorn encounters and kills a pair of orc scouts in the forest. He soon locates Gollum by a fish pond afterwards and captures the creature in a snare trap.

The oldest remaining building on the site is Newton Hall farm cottage which stands hidden in trees off Carr House Drive, just down from the old fish pond which is drained but still visible. One of the wells used by the hall for drinking water still sits in what is now a garden close by. The majority of the other streets take their names from either cathedral cities (mainly those in the east of the estate) or castles in the north of England (mainly those in the west of the estate). Photographs of the Hall in various states of repair as well as a map of the area before housing development hang in the Lounge of the Jovial Monk public house.

In 1069 William the Conqueror dammed the Foss just south of York Castle, close to its confluence with the Ouse creating a moat around the castle. It caused the river to flood further upstream in what is now the Hungate and Layerthorpe areas, forming a large lake that was known as the "King's Pool" or the "King's Fish Pond" and which provided fish for the markets. The lake was approximately 100 acres in extent and fishing was allowed by licence, except for the King's Men. The King's Pool was part of the city's inner defences during the Middle Ages as the marsh was virtually impassable and explains why there is no city wall between Layerthorpe Postern and the Red Tower.

The Arroceros Forest Park, designed by landscape architect Wilfrido Dizon and the Bulacan Garden Corporation, is home to over 3,500 trees of diverse variety, such as acacia mangium, acacia auriculiformis, African tulip tree, agoho, anahaw, banyan, bunga de china, dapdap, eucalyptus, ficus benjamina, fire tree, Indian tree, kamagong, mahogany, MacArthur palm, molave, narra, neem, rain tree, rattan, rubber tree, talisay, teak, tiesa and yucca. It is also inhabited by different fruit trees, including aratilis, avocado, banana, caimito, coconut, guava, macopa, mango, santol, as well as ornamental plants like calachuchi, gardenia, golden shower, palomaria and ylang-ylang. The park has tiled pathways and concrete roads giving access to areas around the park. It also contains a fish pond and bridge, as well as a riverside walk.

Other businesses formed by Abiola and largely managed by his son, Kola Abiola include Abiola Farms, a large scale venture founded in 1985. The firm invested in agrarian land, acquiring hectares in Yewa country to plant maize, after proven unsuitable for large scale cultivation of maize, a fish pond project was launched on the site, additional investment in land and storage facilities in Lafiagi area of Kwara State was made for the cultivation of rice, maize and soybeans and another 5,000 hectares acquired within the Mambilla Plateau for the cultivation of sunflower and other farm products. The area was embanked to protect the abbey from the sea and to reclaim farmland, but still suffered several years of severe flooding in the 14th century. The site was abandoned in 1363, and the stone from the buildings was used to rebuild Leiston Abbey at a new location further inland. The remains of the abbey church, fish pond and other buildings can still be detected below ground, but the only visible structure is the ruined chapel of St Mary, built within the nave of the former church. The lower section of the chapel was built soon after the demolition of the abbey in 1363, and the brick upper parts are thought to have been added by former abbot John Green, who lived there as a hermit when he retired from his post in 1527.

Pioneer Days Pageant, July 24, 1930, which is now known as Stirling Settler Days Stirling's recreational facilities include ball parks, a swimming pool and water slides, a tennis court, a community centre with large picnic area, playgrounds, rodeo grounds, fish pond, cafe, Bed & breakfast, and library. The Milk River Ridge Reservoir south of Stirling supports water recreation in the summer months, and Stirling Lake also known as Michelsen Marsh, north of Stirling supports bird watchers year-round. At the east entrance of Main Street (1 Ave & 4 St.) is a newly built information kiosk made to replicate that of an older pioneer home found throughout Stirling and area. In the kiosk are historical markers and a map that shows many sites of interest throughout the National Historic Site of Stirling.

The typical fresh-water fish-pond in Norman Ireland would have been stocked with European perch, roach, bream, tench, and pike (regarded as great delicacy), and later with carp. An excellent example of a monastic fishpond, in use since medieval times, is that of the Benedictine Abbey of Kremsmünster in Upper Austria. Unlike other manors, however, the priory of Ballybeg does not appear to have had an enclosure for deer. Like its Bridgetown counterpart, Ballybeg, in which the de Roches also had a part in its foundation and endowment, was probably held from the de Barrys in frankalmoign and included rights such as gallows and baronial courts for all contentious issues and pleas arising on the abbey's domain among its tenants and bondsmen, excepting those reserved to the crown.

He did make major changes in the park and gardens; he commissioned André Le Nôtre and Louis Le Vau to redesign the large parterre into a French formal garden. He destroyed the hanging garden which Henry IV had built next to the large fish pond, and instead built a pavilion, designed by Le Vau, on a small island in the center of the pond. Louis XIV signed the Edict of Fontainebleau at the Château on 22 October 1685, revoking the policy of tolerance towards Protestants begun by Henry IV. Louis welcomed many foreign guests there, including the former Queen Christina of Sweden, who had just abdicated her crown. While a guest in the Château on 10 November 1657, Christina suspected her Master of the Horse and reputed lover, the Marchese Gian Rinaldo Monaldeschi, of betraying her secrets to her enemies.

To the west of the gardens is a fish pond which is also a duck pond with a duck island, many species of water birds can be found there, notably Mallard ducks, Canada geese and frequently a pair of resident mute swan. By the corner where Chester Road meets Eachelhurst Road is the area where the annual bonfire and Funfair are held on 5 November, fairs are also held there at other times of the year. To the north of the section above is mown grass with young trees planted in groups and mature trees, later the land starts to slope downwards to a valley where Plants Brook flows, the brook was culverted during the 1960s due to flooding. Many young trees have been planted in the flattish area round Plants Brook which is near the border of the park.

The Nadela originates from the Botoš sluice gate on the Canal Danube-Tisa-Danube-Tamiš crossing, at an altitude of . This is just the first of the many sluice gates on the river's course (Tomaševac, Uzdin, Putnikovo, Kovačica, Debeljača) which channel the waters into the southern direction. Near the village of Uzdin, Nadela's waters are used for the Uzdin fish pond. Until Debeljača the Nadela (in this section also called Veliki kanal or big canal) flows as the real river, but after the Debeljača catchment for the purpose of irrigation, the river shrinks in terms of volume and discharge to the level of a brooklet, which combined with the use of water for industry in Jabuka and Pančevo down the stream and small inclination of the watershed (mouth at ) means that without sluice gates pumps to push the water, the river would stop flowing.

Access to the estate for vehicles is restricted to three entrances - North Road (off Derby Road), Lenton Road (next to castle) and Peveril Drive (off Castle Boulevard) where registration with The Estate's ANPR system is required to operate the rising bollards. There are also two minor entrances - Barrack Lane (off Derby Road) and Newcastle Drive/Park Row (off The Ropewalk) - that provide access to selected parts of the estate (with a somewhat circuitous route to the rest of the estate), although Barrack Lane itself does not fall within The Park. There are several pedestrian/cycle entrances which are mostly gated, some of which locked at night. These are: Lenton Road (on to Park Road, Lenton); Lenton Road (next to Rock Drive: a steep walkway to Castle Boulevard); Fish Pond Drive (on to Castle Boulevard); Newcastle Drive (off Canning Circus) and The Park Tunnel which runs from Tunnel Road to Derby Road (near Budgens store) with a staircase halfway along to Upper College Street.

He furiously underplanted all that remained with camellias, azaleas, rhododendrons and oleanders and set out to create his "show garden" with rose beds and huge displays of dahlias - 500 varieties in every conceivable colour, shape and size 'new types being raised from the gardener's own seed'. In 1958, he extended the garden from 3.5 to 7 acres to allow for his dream, "a place for contemplation and the getting of wisdom". The design and imagery used in the garden is based on this philosophy, to create spaces and symbols for shelter, repose and to nourish the mind, epitomised by his building of the circular "Treasury of Wisdom" and "The Haven". Other structures include 2 stone archways on the entrance drive, observation/viewing platforms, contemplative pool and fish pond, brick and timber pergolas, concrete urns, low brick and stone walls, rockeries, steps and terraces all linked by concrete paths with a crazy paving motif.

Lord Swaythling purchased the estate at some time between 1899 and 1909 and planned to double the size of Great Allington House. The 1909 Ordnance Survey map shows a conservatory on the southern side of the house. Princess Clementine and Prince Napoleon of Belgium opened the manor as a sanatorium in August 1915 for 25 Belgian soldiers who had contracted tuberculosis in the trenches of World War I. The Southern Daily Echo reported on the opening and described the house and garden thus: The fish pond was full of reeds and the trees in the parkland were fewer in number according to the 1945 Ordnance Survey map, while the other planting remained in situ. Lord Swaythling put the estate up for sale in 1946, his advertisement in The Times describing "an agricultural, woodland and sporting estate including Allington Manor Farm, 519 acres…having an attractive Georgian manor house" and including of oak woodland.

The Crescent no doubt also owed something to the well-known plan Robert Adam devised for two half circles of connecting houses as an extension of London's Portland Place, as well as certain examples Bulfinch had seen in Paris. In architectural detail, the Crescent recalls the Adelphi Terrace, which Bulfinch knew both as a center of Neoclassical building in London and as the haunt of exiled Tory relatives and family friends. (Adelphi too was a financial disaster, and the Adam brothers saved their project only through a lottery and the sale of their art collections; Bulfinch lacked such resources.) This innovative project for a new and fashionable residential district south of the central business district was located in an undeveloped, unpromising bit of fields and marshlands between Milk Street and Summer Street that consisted in part of a quagmire that Joseph Barrell—Bulfinch's former employer, who had a house on Summer Street—had partially drained and converted into a fish pond in his garden.Whitehill and Kennedy, p. 53.

With some other environmental issues around the Europe, this was part of the cause for the massive decrease in the number of all species of sturgeons, bringing them to the brink of extinction. The first dam blocked the river at the . After 1984 and the second dam at the , the sturgeons could only reach the section between the mouth of the Timok and the Iron Gate II dam, or of open waterway in Serbia. They began to spawn at the base of the dam, as the water downstream was getting polluted at Prahovo due to the town's chemical industry. Also, some 200 sunken German ships from World War II by the Soviet Danube Flotilla, provided shelter for the entire shoals of fish. However, after 1984 the massive overfishing on the short, remaining waterway followed. It was even made worse in the 1990s, during the period of international sanctions imposed on Serbia, when illegal fishing also blossomed. In 1991, a fish pond was created at the village of Mala Vrbica, downstream from Kladovo, on the very bank of the Danube.
