Sebastian Vettel came in two laps later, being stationary for more than 13 seconds due to a problem with the wheelnut of his rear right tyre and came out behind Felipe Massa in fourth place. Meanwhile, Romain Grosjean retired with gearbox issues. Vettel closed the gap to Massa in the last podium position, but was eventually unable to pass the Brazilian, handing Massa his first podium finish of 2015.

Lincoln St residents complained about possible disruptions to Ku-ring-gai Council, starting a petition to have production moved elsewhere, and threatening to play bagpipes and wave lights around during filming if it went on as planned. The council then offered a revised filming schedule, cutting filming down by two days and bringing each day's finishing time forward by an hour to 12:30 am, and the producers offered some residents a $500 payment to cover any inconveniences. Filming of the story's integral car-crash scene was relocated to another street after the discord.
Yeshimebet Tadesse Bifa (born October 15, 1988) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who has run a personal best in the marathon of 2:26:18 hours. Yeshimebet Bifa ran her fastest marathon time (2:26:18) to finish third in the 69th Seoul International Marathon on March 17. Her major marathon in came in 2011, when she took home the first-place prize at the Twin Cities Marathon (which amounted to $15,000), finishing in 2:28:24. She originally hoped to get a better finishing time but she was pleased with her run.
Since timing does not begin until the rider has crossed the start line, theoretically there is no disadvantage to starting from the back of the field. However, since the faster riders depart first it is potentially advantageous to be batched in the earlier groups and take advantage of pelotons moving at greater speeds. In addition, the sheer number of participants can lead to congestion on the roads and at feed stations. Electronic timing chips given to each rider record the finishing time and split times at various points around the course.
Leading after her leg of the relay, the U.S. team finished second to the Australians, setting an American record with their finishing time. Weir also earned a silver medal by swimming in the preliminary heats of the 4×100-meter medley relay and helping her team qualify for the final. Weir enrolled as a freshman at the University of Georgia in 2004, where her team dominated the 2005 NCAA championships; Weir anchored four of the unprecedented five winning Georgia relay teams. She was recognized as the Atlanta Amateur Athlete of the Year for 2005.
In September, she won the Portugal Half Marathon for the second time and improved upon her own course record with a winning time of 1:07:54 hours. She was the pre-race favourite for the New York City Marathon, where she built a significant lead by the halfway point (running at more than four minutes faster than the course record). She slowed dramatically, however, in the second half of the race and was overtaken by Firehiwot Dado and Buzunesh Deba, leaving her in third place with a finishing time of 2:23:38 hours.
Race time is displayed on a large digital clock mounted on top of the loudspeaker van near the finish so that people who do not have a wrist watch can record their finishing time. Despite the casual nature of the event, previous runners have included prestigious world-class athletes, including George Rhodes, who frequently ran for England and won the Dash three consecutive times. Eric Thompson, Derby Mercury RC President, donated the original cup to Rhodes, who in turn presented his own George Rhodes Trophy to be awarded to future winners.
These are usually made from thick, high-quality laminated maple. Two problems present themselves with bowling alley wood: first, the waxes used on the surface for bowling frequently contain silicone and other substances that can play havoc with work pieces at finishing time—a little silicone on a project will cause trouble with many finishes, and won't manifest itself until it's too late. The other problem with bowling alley wood is nails. Most pieces have loads of nails buried in them, which do not mix well with woodworking tools.
When asked whether he was considering one of the large American marathons the following year, Mungara admitted he had already promised to return to Toronto for a fourth attempt. He won at the Singapore Marathon in December, taking the first prize of US$50,000. He achieved a fourth straight win at the 2011 Toronto Marathon, although the finish was close between Mungara and Abdullah Dawit as both recorded the same finishing time of 2:09:51 hours.Note: Mungara's finishing time for the 2011 Toronto Marathon was later rounded down by two seconds to 2:09:51.. At the 2011 Prague Marathon he was runner-up to Benson Barus but still managed a personal best run of 2:07:36 hours. He did not perform well in the 2012 season, running 2:15:59 at the Paris Marathon and then 2:16:53 at the JoongAng Seoul Marathon, finishing far behind the winner on both occasions. Three days after the race, Ferrari announced they were contemplating filing an appeal with the FIA due to video footage allegedly showing Sebastian Vettel overtaking Jean-Éric Vergne under yellow flags. Should the allegations have proven valid, the FIA could have added 20 seconds to Vettel's finishing time, demoting him to 8th in the race result, handing the driver's title to Alonso. Just two days later however, Ferrari opted not to appeal the result after receiving additional information from the FIA. Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone had previously stated that he considered Ferrari's allegations "a shame" and "a joke".
1877 Boat Race ended in the only dead heat in the history of the competition A dead heat is a rare situation in various racing sports in which the performances of competitors are judged to be so close that no difference between them can be resolved. The result is declared a tie and the competitors are awarded a joint ranking. Dead heats can occur in both head-to-head races and competitions where competitors race sequentially and are ranked by finishing time. Photo finishes have been a long-standing method of resolving outcomes too ambiguous to be distinguished by the naked eye.
The protest at first only involved the criterium being neutralized – that is, the race director agreed that each rider would receive the same finishing time as the stage winner regardless of when they actually crossed the line. After the riders rode a lap of the course, they decided instead not to contest the stage at all, riding the first six circuits slower than previous stages. After four laps, they stopped altogether as race leader Di Luca addressed the unhappy crowd to explain their actions. The times for the stage did not count, and there was no aggressive riding until a final sprint finish.
Yassine Diboun is an American ultra-runner. He won and set the course record at the Leona Divide 50k race in 2013 with a time of 4:03:33. Diboun routinely places near the top in some of the most difficult American and international ultra-marathons, including a 3rd-place finish in the 2016 HURT 100 mile race with a finishing time of 22:39:00 and Top Ten finish in the 2013 Western States 100 with a time of 18:44:02. He was the fastest qualifier in the heats then reached an Asian Games record finishing time of 14.09 seconds. He was the clear winner as the runner-up Zhang Shensheng of China was nearly half a second behind him. The Asian Games title was the last major international medal of Fujimori's career, though he did manage to win a fourth career title in the hurdles at the Japan Championships in 1983. As of 2015, he remains one of only two Japanese men to win the sprint hurdles at the Asian Games, alongside 1970's winner Chikashi Watanabe.

Crews start the race at 15-second intervals. The starting order is based on the crew's finishing time in the previous year, with the top finisher from the prior year leaving first, the second finisher leaving second, and so on. Crews that did not compete in the prior year are seeded after all prior year entrants in a random order, although race organizers have some discretion in the seeding process. Having presumably faster crews start ahead of presumably slower crews reduces the amount of passing boats must make during the race, reducing the potential for boating accidents.
He was entered into the 10,000 m race and was second behind his Kenyan compatriot Wilberforce Talel – Kosgei's finishing time of 27:45.46 was seven hundredths of a second behind Talel, who broke the Games record for the event. He went unbeaten over the distance at the 2002 African Championships in Athletics the following month, beating John Cheruiyot Korir to the continental title. As African champion, he was selected to represent the continental at the 2002 IAAF World Cup. He took the 5000 metres silver medal behind the reigning European champion Alberto García (who was banned in 2003 for taking EPO).
The 2016 centenary event responded to unusually hot conditions by adjusting the starting times, and/or increasing the valid finishing time to reflect the difficulty of course. On the Friday, as participants near the finish, the public presents the walkers with gladioli, a symbol of victory since Roman times, when gladiators were likewise showered with these flowers. The entry into the city and towards the finish, along the St. Annastraat, is for that reason called Via Gladiola during the Nijmegen Marches. As far as a week ahead people will reserve spaces alongside the Via Gladiola by placing chairs and even couches.
Arimori competed for Japan in the 1992 Summer Olympics held in Barcelona, Spain in the marathon where she won the silver medal with a time of 2:32:49, eight seconds behind Russian Valentina Yegorova who ran the race in 2:32:41. This hard-fought race was the closest finishing time in Olympic history for men or women at that time. At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Arimori returned to the Olympic marathon, where she won the bronze medal and finished behind Valentina Yegorova for a second time. Yegorova ran the race in 2:28:05.
He continued training and completed the 2010 London Marathon in aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, the cancer charity founded by Speed's former Newcastle manager, who had died of the illness in 2009. Speed's finishing time was 3 hours, 49 minutes and 22 seconds. Speed finally announced his retirement from playing in his 41st year, but agreed to remain at Sheffield United for at least one more season as a coach. Despite this he was again registered as a player and was named on the bench for the first round League Cup game against Hartlepool United at the outset of the following season.
On 6 January 2020, ITV Daytime announced that Good Morning Britain would be broadcast for an additional half an hour, with a new finishing time of 9:00 am, due to the cancellation of The Jeremy Kyle Show. The first half-hour features Hawkins, Garraway or Singh reading the day's main headlines, joined at 6:30 am by the main anchors. On 21 January 2020, the show was accused of racism and received over 1,500 Ofcom complaints after Morgan made comments relating to a Chinese dairy advert, in which he said, "He's using ching chong ching milk". Morgan also spoke over the advert saying, "ching chang cho jo".
They were then obliged to make a minimum 7-day stopover in Cape Town and a maximum 8-day stopover was allowed for time adjustment purposes. "Arrival" points were allocated in Fremantle depending on a yacht's finishing time and "Bonus" points were awarded for the condition of the boat and crew on arrival, position reporting and navigational records. It was anticipated only yachts finishing within the "Prime Objective" period would score sufficient points to win and, in the case of a tied points score, the Corrected Times would decide the order of placings. Yachts also had to finish by 12:00 hours on 30 November to be an "official" finisher.

Pratchett's Discworld novels have led to dedicated conventions, the first in Manchester in 1996, then worldwide, often with the author as guest of honour. Publication of a new novel was sometimes accompanied by an international book signing tour; queues were known to stretch outside the bookshop as the author continued to sign books well after the intended finishing time. His fans were not restricted by age or gender, and he received a large amount of fan mail from them. Pratchett enjoyed meeting fans and hearing what they think about his books, saying that since he was well paid for his novels, his fans were "everything" to him.
On 1 June, Dibaba won the 5000 metres at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, U.S., a Diamond League event that doubled as Ethiopia's trials for the World Championships. Her finish time of 14:42.01 was one-half second faster than second-place finisher Mercy Cherono of Kenya. Dibaba also finished ahead of five countrywomen, including London Olympian Belaynesh Oljira. Dibaba on 27 June ran her last 10,000 metre race before the World Championships at the Golden Spike Ostrava in the Czech Republic. She won with a finishing time of 30:26.67, with Gladys Cherono Kiprono of Kenya finishing second in 30:29.23 and Belaynesh Oljira finishing third.
The next day, Martin rode to a strong individual time trial victory in Grenoble, on the very same course set to be used later in the season at the Tour de France. Degenkolb then made it three wins for the team in as many days by taking a more traditional field sprint in stage 4, one where all but two riders in the peloton had the same finishing time. Later in the month Gretsch and Howard claimed wins at the Ster ZLM Toer. Gretsch was fastest against the clock in the time trial that opened the race; his closest challenger was teammate Rasmussen just three seconds back.
Their finishing time of 41.41 s was a new Jamaican record, but well behind the United States' world record of 40.82 s. In 2013, Fraser-Pryce became the first woman to sweep the 100 m, 200 m (pictured) and 4×100 m at a single World Championship. Overall, Jamaica had another strong showing in athletics at the 2012 Olympics. In addition to Fraser-Pryce retaining her title, Bolt also continued his winning streak on the men's side, leading a top-two finish for Jamaica in the 100 m, a sweep of the medals in the 200 m, and a new world record in the 4 × 100 m relay.
Suppose that there are no intervals in EFT(I) with the same job class as J. ::If there are no intervals in EFT(I) with the same class as J, then h maps J to the interval with the earliest finishing time amongst all intervals in EFT(I) intersecting J. Then there are three distinct intervals in OPT(I), J1, J2, and J3, such that h maps each of J1, J2, and J3 to the same interval J' ∈ EFT(I).
The Vegetarian club historian, Peter Duncan, said: "He has no brakes; traffic was so light he saw no need for them." Riding a fixed wheel, or direct gearing between the pedals and the back wheel, would have given him limited braking but not enough for an emergency stop. Grubb rode the distance in less than five hours. The distance had already been ridden in less than five hours by "Goss" Green during a record attempt from London to Brighton and back over 104 miles; his finishing time showed he had ridden 100 miles in less than five hours but he was denied the 100-mile record because he had not been timed at that distance.

For example, in stage races such as the Tour de France or Giro d'Italia the finishing time is based on the 5th rider of the team, out of a total of 9 riders per team. Therefore, a team may choose to have a few of its riders take a death pull towards the end of the TTT event, in which the riders take as hard a pull at the front as possible in order to resist the pace at the cost of exhausting themselves with no hope of being able to latch onto the back of the formation for drafting. They then drop back and leave the remainder of the team to finish the time trial.
The next day, a series of crashes took place, felling overall contenders like Lance Armstrong and Andy Schleck among dozens of others. With several groups on the road fragmented by the repeated crashes, race leader Fabian Cancellara negotiated a neutralization of the stage finish, wherein no one would sprint for the line and everyone who was together when the crashes began would get the same finishing time relative to solo stage winner Sylvain Chavanel. Hushovd took a meaningless seventh place on the day, but was angered by the decision, since it nullified the team's work on the day. All eight Cervélo riders had escaped crashes and Hushovd had several support riders with him for the finish, a finish that the slowdown denied him a chance to contest.
The three-year-old division was also represented by Kings Company and Ashleigh. Kings Company, the second highest rated two year old in Ireland, had won the Irish 2000 Guineas in somewhat controversial circumstances, in course record time and by the narrowest margin, from Sparkler and, more recently, had won the Cork and Orrery Stakes at Royal Ascot on soft ground. Ashleigh, highly regarded by his trainer, had also been a Royal Ascot winner winning the Jersey Stakes. Joe Mercer allowed Brigadier Gerard to stroll along at the head of affairs until approaching the furlong maker, where Faraway Son and Joshua threw down their challenges. The gates are now on the fourth floor of Belmont Park's clubhouse. The Belmont Stakes races have been run at Belmont Park since 1905, with the exceptions of 1911–12, when gambling was banned in New York State; and the 1963–67 editions, held at Aqueduct while the grandstands at Belmont Park were reconstructed. Despite this finish being slightly uphill, the stage was classified flat, meaning any riders who crashed within the final would receive the same finishing time as those they were with upon crashing, regardless of when they actually finished. The second of the two crashes occurred inside , but the first did not, and it was behind that first crash that Sánchez, as well as two-time defending champion Alberto Contador, was caught. As a result of little more than bad luck, Sánchez was immediately a minute and 20 seconds down, in 79th place. The next day, despite extra team time trial training prior to the Tour, the squad finished still finished last of the 22 teams, losing a minute and 22 seconds to the day's winners .
In more organized races, a SAG wagon ("support and gear") or broom wagon follows the race to pick up stragglers. In professional stage racing, particularly the Tour de France, riders who are not in a position to win the race or assist a teammate, will usually attempt to ride to the finish within a specified percentage of the winner's finishing time, to be permitted to start the next day's stage. Often, riders in this situation band together to minimize the effort required to finish within the time limit; this group of riders is known as the gruppetto or autobus. In one-day racing, professionals who no longer have any chance to affect the race outcome will routinely withdraw, even if they are uninjured and capable of riding to the finish.
This was eventually surpassed by another Nismo driver, Satoshi Motoyama. After a decent run with Toyota, Comas spent the 2004/2005 seasons with Masahiro Hasemi's privateer Hasemi Sport team, running non- factory Nissan 350Zs in GT500, including inheriting the team's only win (co- driving with Toshihiro Kaneishi) thus far, on the evening of 18 December 2004 at the "All-Star 200" exhibition race on California Speedway's combined oval / road course after the unofficial winners were penalized 60 seconds on their finishing time for a pit window infraction. Unfortunately, the race was a non- points scoring event and as such does not count towards the drivers' or teams' official win record. In the 2006 Super GT championship season (formerly JGTC) he raced for former JGTC driver and 24 Hours of Le Mans team owner Masahiko Kondo's all new privateer Nissan 350Z racing team.

Her finishing time of approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes was nearly an hour behind the first female finisher, Roberta "Bobbi" Gibb, who had been refused a race registration and was not attacked during the race. Having checked that the rule book for the marathon made no mention of gender, Switzer registered for the race using her official AAU number, the full race fee, a properly acquired certificate of fitness, and with the form 'signed as I always sign my name, K.V. Switzer '. She also stated that her name had been misspelled on her birth certificate, so she often used her initials to avoid confusion. Switzer's father was supportive of his daughter's entry into the race, and on race day other runners assembling for the start greeted her entry into the race with support and enthusiasm, leading her to feel 'very welcome'.

Farhh was pressed by the challengers well into the final furlong and along with Cirrus des Aigles and Ruler Of The World, moved well clear of the rest of the field. However, following a pulsating run to the line, where the three principles were split by no more than a length, Farhh found more on the front end and held off the late challenges to hold on gamely to win by a neck at the finish line from Cirrus Des Aigles on his outside in second and Ruler Of The World (on the outside of Cirrus des Aigles) a half length back in third. At the line there was a clear 6 length gap back to Hunter's Light, who held on for fourth from Mukhadram in fifth who was followed by Hillstar, Morandi, Main Sequence, Parish Hall and Triple Threat.
