In 2004, Clarys switched to the PDC, after qualifying for their World Championship, beating Dan Lauby and Mark Walsh to reach the third round, losing to Ronnie Baxter. Though Clarys was unable to win any titles, he had good showings in major tournaments including a quarter final place in the 2005 UK Open. He made another appearance in the PDC World Championship, beating Winston Cadogan in round one before losing to Wayne Mardle. He then went on to win the WDF German Gold Cup.

Some dry docks are used during the construction of bridges, dams, and other large objects. In the penultimate game of the 2017-18 season on 21 April 2018, Sutton recorded their first ever win at Ebbsfleet United's home Stonebridge Road, assuring a National League play-off place. In their final game on 28 April, and in front of a record league attendance of 3,541, Sutton beat Aldershot Town at home 2-1 to claim a play-off semi-final place and a best ever league finish of third in the fifth tier. The play-off semi- final took place on 6 May 2018 against Boreham Wood in which Sutton lost 3-2.

At the end of the 2011 NRL season, Minichiello captained Italy to a 19-all draw with Lebanon that was enough for them to gain the 14th and final place in the 2013 World Cup. By 1220, Fotheringhay Castle was controlled by Ranulf de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester. In January the following year, it was briefly captured by William II de Forz, 3rd Earl of Albemarle in his rebellion against King Henry III. Forz abandoned the castle, Henry III took it under his control, and Fotheringhay remained in royal hands until the reign of Edward II. It was a favoured residence of the Dukes of York, and King Richard III was born there in 1452. It was also the final place of imprisonment of Mary, Queen of Scots, who was tried and executed in the castle in 1587.

A new method of Europa League qualification was introduced for this season. In the vast majority of seasons, the Irish Cup winners finish seventh or higher in the Premiership. In this scenario, the four remaining Premiership teams from the top seven that have not already qualified for Europe (the teams in positions 3–7 excluding either the Irish Cup winners or the third-placed team awarded the berth) will compete in a series of play-offs for the final place in the Europa League. The play-offs are seeded, with the two higher-placed qualifiers given home advantage when facing the two lower-placed qualifiers in the semi-finals.

The Ulster Senior Football Championship is a straight knock-out competition. In January 2007, Priestley made his debut in the Premier League Darts, the respected darts competition in which eight of the best players from the PDC circuit compete against each other in a league format, with matches held across Great Britain at different venues. Priestley took the tournament by storm in the opening weeks, complementing hammerings of Roland Scholten and Adrian Lewis with a draw against Taylor and hard fought wins over Terry Jenkins, Colin Lloyd, and van Barneveld. Although he failed to maintain that form, Priestley's good start proved sufficient to earn him a semi-final place. Vessels of 300 tons sailed as far inland as Morwellham,Barton (1964: 75–6) along the river from the sea. A further stretch of upstream to Weir Head, near Gunnislake, was accessible to smaller boats. Weir Head is just downstream of the weir at Gunnislake (the tidal limit) and is the final place to turn boats; it was from here that smaller craft could begin their journey on the Tamar Manure Canal.

Laughil Blake comfortably won the first semi-final with Emers Superstar running on well for second place and Tyrur Sugar Ray claiming the final place to reach a third successive Irish Derby final; the final British challenger Droopys Ward missed out in fourth. The second semi ended with success for Vulturi who caught the leader Borneo, Ballymac Vic took third place to reach a second Irish Derby final. In the final Laughil Blake deservedly won despite trapping behind Borneo, Ballymac Vic and Tyrur Sugar Ray but he had enough early pace to soon take the lead.

In 1956, Lichtenstein created twenty-five editions of Ten Dollar Bill and gave them to several private collectors and museums. Starting in late October 1994, Ten Dollar Bill went on display at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., along with 89 of Lichtenstein's print artworks. As a part of "The Prints of Roy Lichtenstein", the piece was displayed in Washington until January 8, 1995, before it was moved to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and put on display as part of that city's WinterFest '95, starting in mid-February of that year. The tour moved in May to the Dallas Museum of Art, the final place it was displayed.

Jack 'Cracker' Knight (21 November 1912 – 17 July 1976) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood and both played for and coached St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). A ruckman from South Bendigo, Knight wasn't selected in Collingwood's 1935 premiership team despite playing in the Preliminary Final. He made up for it by participating in the 1936 Grand Final, where he played in a forward pocket and kicked a goal in the win. Disappointment followed in 1937 when a six-week suspension for striking Ron Baggott of Melbourne in the Prelim cost him another Grand Final place but he would appear in the next two season's premiership deciders.

According to the letters page of Champions #6, writer Tony Isabella developed the concept of a new team of superheroes and originally wanted the roster to consist of former X-Men the Angel and the Iceman, and the newly created Black Goliath. Black Goliath became unavailable when the character debuted in his own title, forcing Isabella to rethink the concept. Editor Len Wein insisted on at least five members, and Isabella added three established heroes: Russian spy Black Widow, the Greek god Hercules, and the supernatural avenger Ghost Rider. Captain Marvel, Power Man, and the Son of Satan were all considered for the final place on the roster before selecting the Ghost Rider.

Ruth Landes died in Hamilton, Ontario on February 11, 1991, at the age of 82.Anthropologist Sally Cole discussed her contributions to multiple fields of scholarship in her book Ruth Landes: A Life in Anthropology Landes' final place of work, McMaster University, has established The Ruth Landes Prize awarded each year to the student who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in anthropology. Griqualand East (Afrikaans: Griekwaland-Oos), officially known as New Griqualand (Dutch: Nieuw Griqualand), was one of four short-lived Griqua states in Southern Africa from the early 1860s until the late 1870s and was located between the Umzimkulu and Kinira Rivers, south of the Sotho Kingdom. Griqualand East's capital, Kokstad, was the final place of settlement for a people who had migrated several times on their journey from the Cape of Good Hope and over the mountains of present-day Lesotho. On 26 Feb 1878, it was at Khushk-e-Nakhud near the Afghan Border that the Regiment had taken an administrative halt and was carrying out saddlery inspection, that the early warning elements reported a large body of Afghan Tribesmen approaching the Camp. The men hastily gathered their weapons and mounted their horses, without saddles to engage the approaching enemy. The Regiment, led by Maj Reynolds, charged the enemy before it could form up near the camp and routed them, killing many times their own numbers. Unfortunately, Maj Reynolds was martyred in this charge. Maj Douglas Giles, who was there, reduced an eyewitness account in a Famous Painting, 10'x6', completing it in 1883. This painting was popularly displayed in the Louvre in Paris, from 1913 to 1921, till it found its final place in the Officers' Mess.

The club then moved to Vale Park in 1950 after being forced to sell the Old Recreation Ground to pay off a debt. Percy Alliss led the stroke play on 144, with players scoring 151 and better qualifying. James Ockenden completed the last 9 holes of his first round in 30 strokes. Ockenden beat George Duncan in the final. The fourth tournament was played on 11–13 April 1923. The total prize money was again £200. Abe Mitchell and Ted Ray led on 140 with those scoring 144 and less also qualifying. Willie Ritchie got the final place by winning a four-player 9-hole playoff of those scoring 145, scoring 36.

He was born near L'Ancresse, Vale, Guernsey, Channel Islands, and began his career as an assistant professional at the Royal Guernsey Golf Club which was founded in 1890. He fought in the First World War and was then club professional at Foxgrove Golf Club (1919–33), Hendon, Benton Park and then at Branshaw Golf Club in West Yorkshire. In the 1923 Yorkshire Evening News Tournament, Jolly only qualified for last-32 knock-out stage by winning a five-man, 18-hole playoff for the final place. After winning his first round match comfortably, he only beat Abe Mitchell at the seventh extra hole after Mitchell had missed from 2 feet at the third extra hole. Jolly holed a 9 footer at the 7th, despite being "partially stymied". In the third round, he beat Gus Faulkner at the second extra hole before a 2 and 1 semi-final win. In the final against Walter Hagen, the match went to the 36th hole, Jolly winning by 2 holes. Jolly had been 4 up after 7 holes of the afternoon round but Hagen levelled the match at the 13th.

Alifakovac is as old as the modern city of Sarajevo, as it got its name after Ali-Fakih, a lawyer and one of the witnesses of Isa-bey's endowment of the city in 1462 which set the foundation for the city. Even in those times, the road was very frequent, which can be seen in the cemetery as aside of local peoples, it is the final place of many travelers - emigrants which died in Sarajevo, but also of officers, ulama and ordinary citizens. Jakub-paša decided to build a mosque near the cemetery in 1491, after which completion the streets Veliki (big) Alifakovac, Mali (small) Alifakovac, Megara, Magoda and Carina were established, giving birth to the neighborhood. In the mid-16th century, at the bottom of Alifakovac, Gazi Husrev-beg's quartermaster Mustafa Vekil-Harač, built a mosque which would be soon known as the Pilgrim mosque as most pilgrims started their journey to Hajj from that place and around the same time, some mayor of Sarajevo connected the old Tsargrad road with Baščaršija square with a stone bridge which is nowadays known as Šeher-Ćehajina ćuprija, with which construction the modern landscape of Alifakovac was almost finalized.

He met reigning MAX champion Andy Souwer in the semi finals outworking the heavily favoured Dutchman to claim an extension round victory and face the previous year's finalist Masato in a rematch. Artur performed excellently in the final bout dropping Masato in the second but as he was unable to press his home his advantage the match went into an extension round which the local fighter won by a unanimous decision – a result some felt should never have gone into an extra round as the Ukrainian may have done enough over three rounds to have claimed victory. Emerton was captain of the "Olyroos", Australia's Olympic football team, at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he was sent off against Nigeria as Australia were beaten 3–2 and went out of the tournament. In June 2007, Romania hosted the IRB Nations Cup in Bucuresti. In the 2007 Rugby World Cup finals, Romania won a bonus point in the 18–24 loss to Italy and to win a second game with Portugal by a narrow margin (14–10), but suffered heavy losses to Scotland (42–0) and New Zealand (85–8). Hofstra returned to the Lakeside for the 2005 BDO World Darts Championship, this time taking one of the automatic places meaning he avoided having to qualify. He was beaten in the first round by 4th seed West 3–2. Since then however, Hofstra has not done well in the circuit with only a semi final place in the unranked Spring Cup in 2005 to his credit. In 2007, Hofstra began playing in PDC events, reaching the last 32 of the second PDPA Players Championship Holland event. He currently plays in the Nederlandse Darts Bond, an affiliation of the BDO and won the Open Zuid Netherland in 2008.

At the start of 2016, Snyman linked up with – the Pretoria-based university side affiliated to the Blue Bulls academy – for the 2016 Varsity Cup competition. He started all of UP Tuks' matches in the competition; he made seven appearances during the regular season which saw Tuks qualify for the title play-offs by virtue of finishing in fourth position and also started the semi-final, which his side lost 11–49 to in Stellenbosch. In March 2016, Snyman was included in a South Africa Under-20 training squad, and made the cut to be named in a reduced provisional squad a week later. On 10 May 2016, he was included in the final squad for the 2016 World Rugby Under 20 Championship tournament to be held in Manchester, England. Snyman started all five of their matches in the competition; after a 59–19 come-from-behind victory over Japan in their opening match in Pool C of the tournament, South Africa were beaten 13–19 by Argentina in their second match, but bounced back to secure a 40-31 bonus-point victory over France in their final pool match to secure a semi-final place as the best runner-up in the competition.

The 2007 Football League Two play-off Final was an association football match which was on 26 May 2007 at Wembley Stadium, London, between Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury Town to determine the third and final team to gain promotion from Football League Two to Football League One. The top two teams of the 2006–07 Football League Two season gained automatic promotion to League One, while the teams placed from third to sixth place in the table partook in play- off semi-finals; the winners of these semi-finals competed for the final place for the 2007–08 season in League One. It was the third League Two play-off final since the Football League's rebranding in 2004, the 21st play-off final overall at the fourth level of the English football league system and the first play-off match to take place at the rebuilt Wembley Stadium. Bristol had reached the play-off final in their sixth season back in the fourth tier of English football, having been relegated from the Second Division (equivalent of League One) in the 2000–01 season and Shrewsbury in their third season, after their promotion from the Football Conference in the 2003–04 season.

Rugby Club Toulonnais (), also known as RCT but usually Toulon; ) is a French professional rugby union club based in Toulon in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. A current participant in the first-tier Top 14 competition, they have won the national competition on four occasions. Established in 1908, Toulon currently play their home games at the Stade Mayol, although they have begun to take high-profile matches to the 67,000-seat Stade Vélodrome in Marseille, playing one match there in 2008–09 and two in both 2009–10 and 2010–11. The club colours are red and black. Toulon were Pro D2 champions in 2005, but after finishing 14th in the 2005-06 Top 14 season, they were relegated back down. After signing a number of high-profile players, the club made a strong run at promotion in the 2006–07 season, and succeeded in their promotion quest in 2007–08, winning that season's Pro D2 crown with two rounds to spare. They struggled to avoid relegation for much of the 2008–09 Top 14 season, but a late-season surge brought them to ninth place and safety. Their 2009–10 Top 14 season was more successful, with a second-place regular-season finish and a semi-final place domestically and a runner-up finish in the 2009–10 European Challenge Cup.

Sale Sharks won the tournament on points difference over Leicester following two wins against Newcastle and a home win against Leicester. The Premiership season started badly for Sale Sharks with a 41–3 defeat at the hands of reigning champions Saracens. However, in the following week, they earned a 27–13 bonus point win at home to newly promoted Worcester. Followed by a 20–13 home win over Northampton with 21 year-old Sharks center Sam James scoring a first Premiership try. The first set of Premiership fixtures concluded with a narrow 16–14 defeat at Harlequins, leaving Sale Sharks 7th in the league. Sale Sharks were drawn in Pool 2 of the European Rugby Challenge Cup with Newport and French sides Pau and Castres, they rotated their squad and lost 30–12 at Newport before a four-try win 29–20 a week later at home to Pau. Returning to Premiership action Sale Sharks drew at home 15–15 with Newcastle before another close defeat 23–19, despite two tries from new winger Nev Edwards away at Gloucester in the final league game before Christmas, with Sale Sharks 8th in the table. In December, two wins away (17–10) and home (31–10) against Castres kept Sale Sharks in contention for a Challenge Cup quarter final place.
