The town has three major tourist attractions: the Shelburne Museum, Shelburne Farms, and the Vermont Teddy Bear. Also attracting tourists to Shelburne are: Shelburne Vineyard and Fiddlehead Brewery. The town maintains a beach on Lake Champlain which has a boat launch and nature park. Christopher Patton (born 1969) is a Canadian poet. Patton received a $10,000 writing grant from the Canada Council for the Arts in 1998, and has written at Yaddo and the MacDowell Colony. Characteristic subjects in Patton's writing include nature, spiritual experience, the connection between those two, and what it means to see. His poetry has been published in literary journals such as The Paris Review, The Antioch Review, Western Humanities Review, FIELD, and The Fiddlehead.

'Cameroon' but it awaits formal description. Some species of Stenochlaena are common as climbing ferns in South-East Asian rainforests. After the end-Cretaceous mass extinction caused by an asteroid impact, a species of Stenochlaena was essentially the only common plant across North America for several thousand years. Stenochlaena palustris is known as midin in Sarawak, Malaysia and it is eaten as a popular vegetable similar to fiddlehead ferns, which is usually flavoured with shrimp paste.

This fern is producing a new frond by the process of circinate vernation. Circinate vernation is the manner in which a fern frond emerges. As the fern frond is formed, it is tightly curled so that the tender growing tip of the frond (and each subdivision of the frond) is protected within a coil. At this stage it is called a crozier (after the shepherd's crook) or fiddlehead (after the scrollwork at the top of a violin).

Following the disbandment of Have Heart, Patrick Flynn began working as a history teacher but he and the other members remained active in their local scenes. Flynn and Costa, along with members of Dropdead, Fucking Invinsible, and Voices Forming Weapons, formed the band Sweet Jesus in 2010. Flynn and Stemper formed the straight edge band Clear and released a demo in 2011. Flynn, Costa and members of Basement formed the group Fiddlehead and released their first demo in 2014.

Jeannine Savard (born 1950) is an American poet, born in the Adirondack Mountain Region of New York State. Her poems are lyrical and involve and reflect the lush region of the country, as well as the Sonoran Desert where she has lived since the 1980s as an Associate Professor of English at Arizona State University. Savard's poems have appeared in Blackbird, The Fiddlehead, Superstition Review, Crab Orchard Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, The Salt River Review, The Blue Guitar Magazine, and The Nashville Review.

He is the author of twenty-eight collections of poetry. Dubie's work often assumes historical personae and has been included in The New Yorker, Ploughshares, The Paris Review, FIELD, Narrative, The American Poetry Review, The Fiddlehead, and Blackbird, an online journal of literature and the arts. His work has been included in numerous Norton anthologies of poetry. With his latest collection of poems, The Quotations of Bone, published in 2015 by Copper Canyon Press, Dubie is the international recipient of the 2016 Griffin Poetry Prize.

Kogomi (Matteuccia struthiopteris) Warabi (Pteridium aquilinum) is a Japanese word literally meaning "mountain vegetables", originally referring to vegetables that grew naturally, were foraged in the wild, and not grown and harvested from fields. However, in modern times, the distinction is somewhat blurred, as some sansai such as warabi have been successfully cultivated. For example, some of the fern shoots such as bracken (fiddlehead) and zenmai shipped to market are farm-grown. They are often sold pre-cooked in water, and typically packaged in plastic packs in liquid.

On Gawai Eve, people gather sago, aping, sawit or coconut palm shoots which are used for making soup mixed with meats. Vegetables such as wild midin fern, fiddlehead fern, bamboo shoots, tapioca leaves and Dayak round brinjals from nearby jungle, farms or gardens are also gathered. Unfurled fern leaf of Diplazium esculentum Pohole, also known as hō'i'o is an edible fiddlehead fern eaten in Hawaiian cuisine salad. The salads are made the unfurled fronds of a Diplazium esculentum fern (also known as Athyrium esculentum). In Indonesia, young fiddlehead ferns are cooked in a rich coconut sauce spiced with chili pepper, galangal, lemongrass, turmeric leaves and other spices. This dish is called gulai pakis or gulai paku, and originated from the Minangkabau ethnic group of Indonesia. In the Philippines, young fronds of Diplazium esculentum or pakô is a delicacy often made into a salad with tomato, salted egg slices, and a simple vinaigrette dressing. In East Asia, fiddleheads of bracken (Pteridium aquilinum) are eaten as a vegetable, called kogomi () in Japan, gosari () in Korea, and juécài () in China and Taiwan.

Beyond those superficial resemblances, there are a number of differences between cycads and palms. For one, both male and female cycads bear cones (strobili), while palms are angiosperms and so flower and bear fruit. His first paid employment was as a technical editor with the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment in Cold Lake, followed by an appointment as a scientific editor at the Northern Forest Research Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. During the twentieth century the observatory building served several purposes, including an art center and a faculty club. The Fiddlehead, a literary magazine published at the University of New Brunswick, also used the building as its office. The observatory was declared a National Historic Site in 1954, and a commemorative plaque was unveiled at a ceremony on 10 May 1955. In 1958, Cogswell, along with friend and fellow poet Warren Kinthompson as well as a group of students and faculty from the University of New Brunswick founded Fiddlehead Poetry Books, now one of Canada's important small press publishers operating as Goose Lane Editions. Fred Cogswell was made a member of the Order of Canada in 1981. Fred Cogswell was a prolific poet, translator, editor and scholar and was dubbed "A Friend of Poets - Amis des Poètes" for his lifelong commitment to poetry and those who write it. Guru Madhavdeva after taking up the duty of reforming people and spreading the Ekasarana Nam Dharma came to stay in this small and very poor village. He took shelter for the night at the hut of an old woman, who served him rice with Dhekia Saak (a very common wild vegetable called Fiddlehead fern in English, which is very popular and have an excellent taste ). James also features poems by various New Westminster poets in a monthly column "Poet's Corner" she ran for The Piffle Magazine for 5 years from 2010 - 2015. James was a professional musician-singer-songwriter for many years and is also a visual artist painting predominantly in the acrylic medium. In a recent interview to Alok Mishra, she has talked about her participation in music. She also told that in the beginning, she has been writing poetry, but did not send to publishers.
