Charles I. D. Looff was a German master carver and builder of hand-carved carousels and amusement rides, who immigrated to the United States of America in 1870. Looff built the first carousel at Coney Island in 1876. During his lifetime, he built over 40 carousels, several amusements parks, numerous roller coasters and Ferris wheels, and built California's famous Santa Monica Pier. He became famous for creating the unique Coney Island style of carousel carving.

Carousel No. 15, seen at its later home at the Palisades Center At its peak, Fort George Amusement Park included three carousels, two Ferris wheels, a boat ride, a toboggan ride, and three roller coasters. Two of the roller coasters, the Rough Rider and the Tickler, were designed by Coney Island amusement designer William F. Mangels. These attractions made the area comparable to other trolley parks such as Coney Island's Luna Park and Steeplechase Park. The park also had entertainment venues such as a casino, hotels, and a pony- racing track.

The most common toys include wooden tops, yo-yos, cup and ball, marionettes, kits, hobby horses, marbles, whistles, trains of wood and tin, jacks made of apricot pits, rag dolls, slingshots, mobiles, busses, dollhouses, doll kitchens and doll storefronts, sets of toys to imitate social scenes, and even elaborate miniatures such as carousels and ferris wheels. Traditional board games include oca and the still widely played lotería game. Some roller coasters, most noticeably Vekoma Roller Skaters (Vekoma's version of a junior coaster) and Zierer Tivoli/Force (also junior coasters) also use drive tires instead of a chain on lift hills. Drive tires are also used to power other types of amusement rides, such as ferris wheels, Pirate Ships, and other spinning rides. The Olympia Looping traveling roller coaster at Barth, Alpina Bahn and Mindbender at Galaxyland at the West Edmonton Mall also feature a drive tire instead of a chain on their lift hill. Drive tires are often used in one of two ways on roller coasters.

Despite the growth of the park in the immediate years following World War II, it began to slow down after the addition of Kiddieland in 1949. From 1950 through 1959 the park only added four rides, and it was a full decade after the Twin Ferris wheels were installed that Hersheypark added its next adult ride: Turnpike. The Dry Gulch Railroad was added a season later in 1961, a complement to the 50-year-old Miniature Railroad. The former featured a live steam powered 4-4-0 locomotive, named "Meridia", built for the park by Crown Metal Products.

Sedlmayr then owned and operated the Rubin & Cherry shows for two years in partnership with Sam Soloman, before relaunching Royal American Shows as the company's sole owner in the mid-1940s. The company regained the Western Canadian "A" circuit of fairs in 1946, and its shows starred Lash LaRue, exotic dancers Gypsy Rose Lee and Sally Rand, and Leon Claxton's all-black musical revue Harlem in Havana. The fairground rides embraced new technology that had been developed in World War II, and included four Ferris wheels placed side by side. The company continued to expand and develop through the 1950s.

Seaside Heights boardwalk looking towards the Casino Pier The long promenade is full of game stands, pizzerias, souvenir shops, beach gear stores, arcades and ice cream parlors drawing families, teenagers and adults alike. The Seaside Heights boardwalk is bookended by two piers that feature amusement rides, carousels, log flumes, roller coasters, Ferris wheels and more. One of these piers is the world-famous Casino Pier, home to a 1913 circa merry-go-round, the Niagara Falls log flume and the Jet Star roller coaster. The Sommerlyst establishment in 1869 The area outside Frederiksberg Palace gardens had thrived as a fashionable destination for excursions ever since the construction of the palace in the first decade of the 18th century. When Frederiksberg Allé, as well as the palace gardens were opened to the public, and Copenhagen's fortifications were decommissioned, allowing for more robust constructions outside the city, numerous pleasure gardens and entertainment establishments sprung up along the street. One of the most popular places was Sommerlyst, a large pleasure garden which opened in 1834 at the end of Frederiksberg Allé. It had pavilions, flower beds, a merry-go-round, ferris wheels and a bandstand.

The Sorcerer's Hat originally was going to be built outside of the park, in the space cleared for David Copperfield's Magic Underground Restaurant that ultimately was not built. Originally going to be twice the height, with two Ferris wheels as ears, and Walt Disney: One Man's Dream underneath, the plans were changed when the retail side of the park decided to fund it, reposition it at the center of the park, and repurpose it as a pin trading station. In October 2014, Disney confirmed that the Sorcerer's Hat would be removed by early 2015. The structure's removal began on January 7, 2015, and was completed on February 25, 2015.

Pablo Dolores Regino is a Mexican lacquer artisan from Temalacatzingo, Guerrero. He began learning traditional lacquer techniques when he was a small child and today he runs one of the most important workshops in his small town in an area known for lacquer ware. Dolores Regino’s creations are made from a variety of gourd called cucurbita, which has a hard shell especially when dried, and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes which he uses to create various figures and objects. Finished products include toys such as carrousels, Ferris wheels, animal figures (birds, fish, armadillos etc.) as well as boxes and other storage containers for small items such as sewing supplies and jewelry.

Sullivan founded the firm with the introduction of his first portable "Big Eli" Wheel on the Jacksonville Square on May 23, 1900. Jacksonville was once home to the J. Capps & Son Company, one of the largest manufacturers of textiles and clothing in the United States, and owned by the Capps family, which was intermarried with the family of Jacob Bunn and John Whitfield Bunn of Springfield, Illinois, and Chicago. High Roller, in Las Vegas, Nevada, world's tallest Ferris wheel since 2014 A Ferris wheel is an amusement ride consisting of a rotating upright wheel with multiple passenger-carrying components (commonly referred to as passenger cars, cabins, tubs, capsules, gondolas, or pods) attached to the rim in such a way that as the wheel turns, they are kept upright, usually by gravity. Some of the largest modern Ferris wheels have cars mounted on the outside of the rim, with electric motors to independently rotate each car to keep it upright. These wheels are sometimes referred to as observation wheels and their cars referred to as capsules. However, these alternative names are also used for wheels with conventional gravity-oriented cars.

The player is responsible for building out the park such as modifying terrain, constructing footpaths, adding decorative elements, installing food/drink stalls and other facilities, and building rides and attractions. Niverville's first park—Kinderhook Lake Park, aka The Old Park—was established in 1870 as a picnic and meeting place. By 1899 the railroad trolleys were electrified and Niverville's Electric Park was founded along Kinderhook Lake. Lit by colored lights, the amusement park featured two Ferris wheels (one run by steam, the other by electricity), a carousel, a roller coaster, and other rides, as well as live vaudeville performances held in a dancing pavilion, an aquarium stocked with native fish, and a bathing beach alongside the lake's popular boating and fishing activities. The Niverville Fire Department, established in 1916, is a central community hub serving Kinderhook Lake, residents of adjacent Chatham town along the eastern edge of the lake, and Niverville residents.

He began his career in the railroad industry and then pursued an interest in bridge building.

The original Pizza Hut building, which was moved to the campus of Wichita State University Wichita was also a significant entrepreneurial business center during the pre- and post-war period, with the Garvey Organization, Koch Industries, Coleman, Mentholatum, White Castle, Pizza Hut, Taco Tico, Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, and having all been founded in Wichita. (Ironically, White Castle closed all of their restaurants in Wichita in 1938 and has not operated in the state of Kansas after a failed revival attempt in the Kansas City area in the early 1990s.) The entrepreneurial spirit of Wichita led to the creation of one of the first academic centers to study and support entrepreneurship at the Wichita State University Center for Entrepreneurship. Davis Manufacturing invented and mass-produced a popular trenching machine in the 1960s—the Ditch Witch—and was later acquired by J. I. Case, who gradually turned the factory towards producing the company's skid-steer loaders—which it does today for Case's parent company, Case New Holland(CNH), under both "Case" and "New Holland" names. Another large Wichita industrial facility, Chance Manufacturing became a national leader in amusement park rides, including ferris wheels, and remains active today.
