Serwa won her first world cup event on January 13, 2009 at the Alpe d'Huez course after these finals were canceled on the 2009–10 Freestyle Skiing World Cup. The women's 880 yards at the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games as part of the athletics programme was held at the Perry Lakes Stadium on Saturday 1 December 1962. After a 16-year absence, the event made its return to the women's program and was won by the world record holder, Australian Dixie Willis. Willis finished two seconds ahead of Marise Chamberlain from New Zealand and her fellow countrywoman Joy Jordan. The winning time of 2:03.7 easily accounted for the Games record set by Englishwoman Gladys Lunn in 1934, with all but last place finisher posting times inside the mark.

Sofie Natalie Skoog (born June 7, 1990) is a Swedish high jumper. She represented her nation Sweden at the 2015 IAAF World Championships, and at the 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing seventh in the final round of the women's high jump. Skoog currently trains as a member of the track and field squad for IF Göta Karlstad, under the tutelage of her coach Stefan Holm, a former high jumper and Athens 2004 champion. Skoog competed for Sweden, along with her fellow countrywoman Erika Kinsey, in the women's high jump at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Kecková graduated in 1870 with the class award from the Girl's High School of Prague. Because she excelled in her studies, she received a special permit to attend and take exams from the lower gymnasium in Malá Strana and then attended the upper classes at the same school from which she matriculated on 24 July 1874. Gong was one of the world's leading women's singles players between her first international titles in 1996 and her retirement in 2002. She won some of the world's biggest tournaments, including the venerable All-England Championship consecutively in 2000 and 2001 over fellow countrywomen Dai Yun and Zhou Mi respectively in the finals. Her other titles included the 1996 Asian Championships, the 2000 Copenhagen Masters; and the Denmark (1996), Swedish (1997), China (1997), Japan (1998, 2000), and Malaysia (2000) Opens. At the then biennial IBF (BWF) World Championships Gong was a silver medalist behind fellow countrywoman Ye Zhaoying in 1997, and a bronze medalist in 2001.

The women's 1500 metres speed skating competition of the 2018 Winter Olympics was held at the Gangneung Oval in Gangneung on 12 February 2018. Dutch skater Ireen Wüst, gold medalist at the previous Winter Olympics in this discipline, won the gold medal, Miho Takagi from Japan won the silver medal and Marrit Leenstra from the Netherlands won bronze, only 0.01 seconds ahead of her fellow countrywoman Lotte van Beek. On winning the gold medal Wüst became the first athlete to win gold medals at four consecutive Winter Olympics, exactly twelve years after her first Olympic medal in the 3000 metres in 2006, and with a total of ten medals, including five golds, Wüst takes the seventh position in the list of best Winter Olympic athlete ever. Wüst also became the most decorated Olympic skater in terms of the total number of medals.

Prior to the 2006/07 season Jacobsen had competed in five World Cup events, three sprint races and two pursuits. One sprint in Drammen in the 2004/05 season and the rest at the end of the 2005/06 season. Her best result in those races was a 10th place in the freestyle sprint in Changchun, China where she lost in the semi final, having had the third best qualifying time. She also achieved another top twenty finish by finishing 17th in the classic sprint in Drammen (2005/06), after qualifying in 15th position.
