Namita Toppo, born on 4 June 1995, is a midfielder and a product of Sports Hostel, Panposh, Rourkela, Odisha. Toppo made her state debut in 2007 and was then selected for Girls U-18 Asia Cup in Bangkok, Thailand where she was part of Bronze medal winning squad. Toppo represented the senior team for the first time in 2012 in the FIH champions challenge in Dublin. One of Baji Prabhu's descendant, Ramchandra Kashinath Deshpande, was an Indian freedom fighter against the British rule, educationalist and social activist who worked in Dhule, Jalgaon, and Pune for encouraging education. He participated in the Quit India Movement during the British rule and was imprisoned for 19 months in the Kolhapur Central Jail. He was felicitated after Independence by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. For his social work he was given the title of ‘Special Executive Magistrate’ by the Maharashtra government in 1989.

The most notable novelists were Umesa Sarakara, Divyasimha Panigrahi, Gopala Chandra Praharaj and Kalindi Charan Panigrahi.

Kanteerava Stadium On the morning of Sunday, 23 July 1968, the procession in Bangalore started from the Mysore Bank circle, Kempegowda Road with thousands of fans chanting "Rajkumararige Jayavaagali" ("All hail Rajkumar"). Rajkumar was accompanied by his contemporaries and popular actors like Kalyan Kumar, Narasimharaju and Balakrishna among others. Popular actresses Kalpana, Pandari Bai and Bharathi were also present. Rajkumar was then felicitated at the Kanteerava Stadium for having successfully completed 100 films as an actor by Kannada cinema's popular actor and theatre director Gubbi Veeranna conferring him the title Nata Sarvabhouma in front of thousands of fans.

A teacher by profession, in 1960, Khebudkar started his career as songwriter in Marathi cinema, and went on to work with noted composers like Ram Kadam and Vasant Pawar during the 1960s and 1970s. He wrote seven songs for V. Shantaram's Marathi hit film Pinjra (1972), he was felicitated the V. Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award, among others. As songwriter, he wrote songs across genres, including romantic songs, religious- devotional songs and lavanis, which became popular in Marathi cinema. In the freedom struggle, the British government fired shots at the protesters in which Balaji Raipurkar died and several leaders like Nanaji Siras were severely injured and later on put into jail for several years. However, in 1946 they were set free by paying 2000 Rs. Nanaji Siras lived in Chandrapur along with his family and son Mohan Siras. For his contribution to the Indian Independence struggle and for his role in the overall development of Chimur, the Indian Prime Minister Shri. P. V. Narsimha Rao personally honored and publicly felicitated Udhavrao Korekar during his visit to Chimur in 1993.

Gomes was the recipient of numerous honours, in view of his significant contributions in the fields of literature, history, economy and political science. Due to his significant contributions towards the study of political economy, the Society of Economists of Paris appointed him as an Associate Member, a rare honour which he shared with four other eminent personages, namely, William Ewart Gladstone, Mungueti, John Stuart Mill and Richard Cobden. Upon his visit to France on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition held in Paris in 1867, the elite among the French economists and philosophers paid a public tribute to Gomes for his contributions to the study of political economy. The French monarch Napoleon III received him in a special audience and felicitated him for his achievements.

India-China Translation Programme In a significant initiative in cultural diplomacy, the Government of India and the Government of People’s Republic of China have put forward an ambitious translation programme that includes translation of select 25 classical and contemporary literary works from Chinese into Hindi and Indian literary works into Chinese. To give effect to this initiative a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China on Cooperation in Mutual Translation and Publication of classic and contemporary works. It was signed during the visit of Premier Li Keqiang to India.

He first played for Ceylon in 1971 and was a member of the Sri Lankan teams playing in the World Cups in England in 1975 and 1979. He later played club cricket in Ireland for one season in 1979 and was offered the post of coach of the Holland team. As player/manager of the rebel tour to South Africa in 1982-83 in defiance of the sporting ban against the apartheid state, he and the other tourists received a lifetime ban from international cricket. In September 2018, he was one of 49 former Sri Lankan cricketers felicitated by Sri Lanka Cricket, to honour them for their services before Sri Lanka became a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Sri Lankabhimanya Wannakuwattawaduge Don Albert Perera(;; 5 December 1927 – 3 November 2016) better known by his adopted name Amaradeva, was a prominent Sri Lankan vocalist, violinist and composer. Primarily using traditional instruments like sitars, tablas and harmoniums, Amaradeva incorporates Sinhala folk music with Indian ragas in his work. Dr. Chona was conferred with the Padma Shri in 1999, and subsequently with the Government of India's third-highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan award in 2008–making her the only educationist to receive two of the country's four highest civilian honors. On 5th Oct 2019, ADEX, The Asian Diving Expo at Mumbai, acknowledged Operation Blue Freedom pioneering efforts in using SCUBA diving to mainstream people with disabilities and featured Team CLAW at the International Diving Expo. The following day, on 6th Oct 2019, Operation Blue Freedom crossed another milestone by training 30 people with disabilities at an indoor facility in Mumbai, India. On 15th Nov 2019, the TiE Global, a Silicon Valley non-profit, felicitated Team CLAW for the most innovative solutions in employment generation for People of Determination at its Global Summit 2019, in Delhi. On 21st July 2020, the Novus X Impact Global, a summit championing the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, featured the founder, Major Vivek Jacob, as he spoke about mainstreaming perception change towards people with disabilities through the application of Special Forces mindset.

Nair received the Social Service Award of the Stallions International in 2003 and he was selected for the Jamnalal Bajaj Award in 2005, for his constructive social service. The University of Calicut honored him for his services to Gandhian studies in 2005 and the University of Kerala felicitated him on 24 April 2012, when he was elected as the national president of Gandhi Smarak Nidhi. The Government of India awarded him the civilian honor of the Padma Shri in 2016, though the original recommendation of the state government was for the higher award of the Padma Bhushan. The Department of Information and Public Relations of the Government of Kerala and the state chapter of Gandhi Smarak Nidhi jointly organized a photo exhibition at Gandhi Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram, featuring various photographs from Nair's life, in connection with his 95th birthday celebrations.

Yesudas Balasubrahmanyam made his debut as a playback singer on 15 December 1966 with Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna, a Telugu film scored by his mentor, S. P. Kodandapani. The first non-Telugu song that he recorded just eight days after his debut Telugu song was in Kannada in 1966 for the film Nakkare Ade Swarga, starring Kannada comedy stalwart T. R. Narasimharaju. He recorded his first Tamil song "Athaanodu Ippadi Irundhu Eththanai Naalaachu", a duet with L. R. Eswari under the musical direction of M. S. Viswanathan for the film Hotel Ramba, which was never released. Other early songs he sang were duets with P. Susheela, "Iyarkai Ennum Ilaya Kanni" in the 1969 film Shanti Nilayam, starring Gemini Ganesh, and "Aayiram Nilavae Vaa" for M. G. Ramachandran in Adimaippenn.

From national tournaments, Suman moved on to representing her country internationally. She was a part of the Indian youth hockey team which won the World Youth Hockey Tournament (under-18) held in Netherlands on 11 and 12 August 2014, for which she was felicitated by her old training institute, the South East Youth Organisation. She also participated in the Asia Cup 2017, where her contribution led to India building a strong defence and conceding only 5 goals in the 6-match tournament, and eventually going on to win the tournament as continental champions and earning them a qualifying spot at the Hockey World Cup. In the run-up to the Hockey World Cup 2018 in London, the Indian women's hockey team participated in the Spain Tour where they played five matches against the Spanish National team starting 12 June 2018.

After resigning from his teaching position at Anna University in January 2013, Karky along with his wife Nandini Karky founded KaReFo, the Karky Research Foundation, a non-profit educational research organization which focuses on language computing and language literacy. He serves as the Research Head for the organization. The projects developed by KaReFo include "Chol" (an online Tamil-English-Tamil dictionary), "Piripori" (a morphological analyser and compound word splitter for Tamil), "Olingoa" (a transliteration tool), "Paeri" (a name generator that produces around 9 crore male/female names based on Tamil phonetics), "Emoni" (a rhyme finder tool), "Kural" (a Thirukural portal), "eN" (a number to text converter), "Paadal" (a Tamil lyric portal to research and browse song lyrics) and "Aadugalam" (a portal for word games). For the work done by the organization on "Piripori", Karky was felicitated with the Chief Minister award for Computing in February 2019.

During his medical career spanning four decades, Dr Singh visited the United Kingdom as a Commonwealth Fellow in 1968 at the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street London; traveled to United States on a WHO Fellowship to study Accident and Emergency Services; was invited to the General Scientific Meeting of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Melbourne in 1984; read scientific papers at the International Cancer Congress in Seattle US, 1982 and in 1983 at the Second European Cancer Congress at Amsterdam, the Netherlands; and was invited to Islamabad in 1989 by the Society of Surgeons of Pakistan. His last official position was as Director of what was then Rohtak Medical College & Hospital in Haryana and is now Pt. B. D. Sharma PGIMS Rohtak the only tertiary care and medical teaching facility in the state of Haryana.

In 1913, six years after Robert Baden-Powell introduced scouting to the world, scouting arrived at Dharmaraja College. The 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout Group is the second Scout Troop in Ceylon and the 1st group in Kandy District founded by late Mr. John Henry De Saram under the Principalship of late Mr.K.F. Billimoria. 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scouts had the rare opportunity to honour the founder, Lord Baden Powell when he paid a visit to Dharmaraja College in 1921. Dharmaraja scouts had felicitated the founder on three different occasions when he visited Sri Lanka. As part of centenary celebration, 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout group established a Guinness world record by creating the world largest neckerchief measures 53.7 m x 37.1 m x 37.1 m (176 ft 2.4 in x 121 ft 8.4 in x 121 ft 8.4 in) and the largest woggle measures 1.03 m (3 ft 4.55 in) in diameter and 1 m (3 ft 3.37 in) in height on 20 February 2014.

He has received Best Playwright and Best Director awards for several of his plays at national competitions and felicitated several times by receiving the Gunijon Sambardhana (Eminent Citizen Honor) for being the only prolific contemporary writer and director in Delhi for promoting progressive developments in Bangla Language, through his stories, poetry and contemporary plays by Chittaranjan Park Bangiya Samaj (Delhi), Chittaranjan Park Community (Delhi), Bangiya Samaj Karol Bagh (Delhi) and Aneek Theatre Group (Kolkata). His plays have been performed under his design and direction at international and national theatre festivals like Bharat Rang Mahotsav, Legends of India, International Ganga-Jamuna Festival, All India Short Play Festival, Delhi International Arts Festival, Bharatendu Natya Utsav, etc. Three of his original Bengali plays have been published and a publication consisting four of his Hindi plays translated from his original Bengali plays is in process. Apart from plays, he has penned innumerable short stories, poems and articles, published and unpublished. A collection of his 14 best short stories has been recently published entitled ‘Abba Othoba Ekti Nidoya Shonsharer Galpo’ creating ripples in the Bengali community.

The club was founded in 1956. It was founded by VM Salgaocar, founder President of the VM Salgaocar Group of Companies, to give a platform to the Goan youth to showcase their talent to the country, and to the world. In 1962, Salgaocar Sports Club became the first Goan team to be extended an invitation to play in the prestigious Durand Cup in New Delhi, and such was the joy of a Goan team's participation in the Durand Cup, that the Late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru felicitated the team at his residence. Salgaocar successfully annexed all possible trophies on the Indian circuit thereby etching their name amongst the top teams in the country. A National League triumph in 1999, 3 Federation Cups in 1988, 1989 and 1997, the Super Cup in 1997 and 1999, the prestigious Rovers Cup, Mumbai, in 1989, 1996 and 1999, the Durand Cup, Delhi, twice in 1999 and 2003, the Sait Nagjee, Calicut, in 1987 and TFA shield at Madurai, in 1979. Salgaocar Sports Club have also been crowned Goa State Champions for a record 19 times including winners for 3 consecutive years of the Goa Professional League in 2002–03, 2003–04 and 2004–05.
