The Feasters were commonly referred to as Dunkards. In a personal historic reflection printed in 1880 in the newspapers about Feaster and other early settlers in the Beaver Creek area, the author said, “[They] were called Dunkards and were the only men seen with unshaven faces.” Dunkards (alternatively Tunkers, First Day Baptists) were associated with the Schwarzenau Brethren, a branch formed from the Anabaptists in Germany by Alexander Mack in 1708. The Brethren adopted adult (vs.

His 2016 film The Unwanted was based on Sheridan Le Fanu's vampire tale Carmilla.
However, Feaster later told Chiarelli that Iginla preferred Pittsburgh, and that the team honoured his wishes. Iginla stated that the opportunity to play alongside Sidney Crosby, with whom he teamed up to score the gold-medal winning goal at the 2010 Winter Olympics, was too important to pass up. The deal marked the end of an era for the Flames. In his 17 years in Calgary, Iginla became the face of the franchise, and was considered the greatest player in the team's history.
The 2014–15 season is the first for Brad Treliving as Flames' general manager. He succeeded Brian Burke, who acted as interim general manager following the dismissal of Jay Feaster the previous season. Treliving was active during the free agency period, and signed three players on July 1, 2014: Cochrane, Alberta, native Mason Raymond; goaltender Jonas Hiller; and defenceman Deryk Engelland. The Flames lost leading goal-scorer Michael Cammalleri, who signed a five-year contract with the New Jersey Devils.

The painting was likely commissioned by Antonio Caputo, a Neapolitan merchant from Preti during his stay in Naples. It was likely a companion piece to the Banquet of Absalom now hanging in the Museo di Capodimonte. The subject of this painting derives from the parable of the rich man and Lazarus found in the gospel of Luke 16: 19-31. The name Epulone has been attached in Italy to the rich man, but also generically refers to a feaster (with pejorative gluttonous suggestion).
All Sting players were available except for unrestricted free agents Allison Feaster and Tammy Sutton-Brown. The main draft was held on April 4, 2007, inside the Renaissance Hotel on Cleveland's Public Square, the day after the 2007 NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Tournament ended. The previous year's draft was held in Boston the night before the championship game of the 2006 NCAA women's basketball tournament, which was also in Boston. This marked the first WNBA draft ever held outside of New Jersey.

He has previously served as head coach of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Springfield Falcons, Babson College, and Providence College and as assistant coach of the Islanders and the Lowell Lock Monsters. While in college Stirling never had a losing season. He is also one of the few people to coach as three different levels of NCAA hockey. After the disappointing season with the Admirals, general manager Jay Feaster announced that Steve Stirling would not be the coach heading into the 2008–09 AHL season.
Felicia Feaster, writing for Turner Classic Movies, found an "unusual theme" in the film, which she interpreted as being one of independence for children. Professor James R. Kincaid read the film as a call for children's rights. T.S. Kord wrote the film argued that a child with money and a home does not need a parent if he or she does not believe it is necessary. Another co-worker of theirs was 19-year-old Ahmia Feaster, who was Castillo's new girlfriend after his split from Le.
The group was formed by friends from a high school based in the Bronx, New York, United States. The initial members were the brothers Carl and Claude Feaster, plus Jimmy Keyes, Floyd McRae, William Edwards, with support from the pianist Rupert Branker. The Chords were one of the first acts to be signed to the Atlantic Records subsidiary label, Cat Records. Their debut single was a doo-wop version of a Patti Page song, "Cross Over the Bridge", whilst the record label reluctantly allowed a number penned by the Chords on the B-side.
Robert M. Price has also used the title "The Burrower Beneath" for a story set in the Eibonic mythos of Clark Ashton Smith - see Price's anthology The Book of Eibon (Chaosium, 2002). Leigh Blackmore's poem "The Conjuration" (in his collection Spores from Sharnoth and Other Madnesses, P'rea Press, 2008) was inspired by the title "The Feaster from the Stars". Blackmore's story "The Stairs in the Crypt" (not to be confused with Lin Carter's story of the same title) was also inspired by the name of Robert Blake's tale.
A season of superlatives was capped with one final accolade, as The Sporting News named GM Jay Feaster as the league's executive of the year for 2003–04. The Lightning had to wait a year to defend their title due to the 2004–05 NHL lockout, but in 2005–06, they barely made the playoffs with a record of 43–33–6 for 93 points in a conference where six teams notched 100 or more points. They lost to the Ottawa Senators in five games in the first round of the 2006 playoffs.
A racial disparity between the American news media response when a white individual goes missing and when a black individual goes missing has been observed. According to Seong-Jae Min & John C. Feaster, throughout history the news media has provided white individuals, particularly affluent women, more comprehensive news coverage than people of color. The authors have noted that while a correlation has been established, they have no clear causation. They suggest that the socioeconomic status or attractiveness of a child may also influence their chances of appearing in the news media.
The album peaked at No. 46 on the Billboard R&B; chart. Around this time, the group began to develop their stage performance after they witnessed a set by Willie Feaster and the Mighty Magnificents which, according to Robert Bell, "Blew us away [...] We thought, 'Wow, if we want to be in show business, we have to change our act. We can't just stand up there and play'." The band followed their debut with two live albums: Live at the Sex Machine, recorded the year before, and Live at PJ's, both released in 1971.
Svejkovský played parts of three more seasons with the Capitals, he was then traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning during the 1999–2000 season. Svejkovský finished the season with the Lightning, then spent the 2000–01 season in the International Hockey League with the Detroit Vipers. He sustained a concussion during his second game for the Vipers, subsequently retiring from the sport without taking part in any more games. In a 2002 USA Today story, Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Jay Feaster said that Svejkovský was out of hockey due to post-concussion syndrome.
As the team walked onto the court, one of the event workers said "Welcome to real basketball". Feaster delivered, scoring 35 points, but it was a teammate, Susie Miller who hit a three-pointer late in the game to secure the win, representing the first, and still the only time a 16 seed has beaten a one seed in an NCAA women's tournament game. The feat has since been matched by the men, as the UMBC Retrievers upset Virginia in 2018. In 2014, she reached another milestone when Harvard beat Yale 69–65.
The episode also features the return of Lou Ferrigno as the hero Billy; Ferrigno had previously appeared in the first-season episode "His Hero" and the fourth season finale "The Lich". In addition, both comedian and rapper Andy Samberg, as well as actor Mark Hamill, reprise their roles as Party Pat and the Fear Feaster, respectively. Samberg had previously voiced the character in the second season episode "Belly of the Beast", whereas Hamill had appeared in the first-season episode, "Ocean of Fear". The rap battle music was scored by Moynihan, who made heavy use of orchestra hits.
Josh Gorges, Gary Bettman and Steve Staios unveil the uniforms to be worn for the 2011 Heritage Classic. Failure to qualify for the 2010 Stanley Cup playoffs resulted in changes to the team's management and evaluation structure. Former Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Jay Feaster was hired to serve as an assistant to Darryl Sutter, while three scouts were released by the organization as it planned to take a new direction in its amateur scouting. The organization participated in a five-team prospects tournament held in Penticton, British Columbia, that included the Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks.

He played only nine more games before announcing his retirement as a player to join the Flames' front office as an assistant to General Manager Jay Feaster. Daymond Langkow was named a finalist for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, awarded to the player who "best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey". He was nominated after making his return to the Flames lineup one year after a slapshot to the neck left him with broken vertebrae. Ray Emery of the Anaheim Ducks and Ian Laperriere of the Philadelphia Flyers were also named finalists for the award.
He was selected to the All- Patriot League team for the second straight year. Feaster's final season in 1994–95 saw him earn his third all-conference selection behind a third consecutive season in which he led Holy Cross in scoring at 25.0 points per game. This mark also ranked him ninth nationally, and for his efforts he was named the Patriot League Player of the Year. When Feaster finished his college career, he had scored a then-Patriot League record 2,224 points (in 2012–13, his record would be broken by Lehigh's C. J. McCollum).
Jay Harry Feaster (born July 30, 1962) is a National Hockey League (NHL) executive currently serving as the Executive Director of Community Hockey Development for the Tampa Bay Lightning. He is the former general manager of the Calgary Flames, having served from May 16, 2011 to December 12, 2013, after serving as acting general manager since December 28, 2010, following Darryl Sutter's resignation. He was the general manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning for six years, during which he was named the NHL's executive of the year by The Sporting News in 2004 after guiding the Lightning to their first Stanley Cup championship.
The Flames received some criticism for going "off the board" and selecting Jankowski well above his expected draft place, but assistant general manager John Weisbrod stated that while Jankowski's talent was "raw", other teams were certain to select him in the first round if the Flames did not. General manager Jay Feaster argued that Jankowski was one of the most talented players available in the draft. At draft time his stats were 6 foot 2.5 inches, 168 pounds. Jankowski initially committed to play for the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 2012–13 before for Providence.

Following Vlahov's retirement, Grace became captain of the Wildcats for the 2002/03 season. Behind Grace and coach Alan Black, the Wildcats finished second on the ladder with a 22–8 record and advanced through to their seventh Grand Final series where they faced the Sydney Kings. In the championship series, the Wildcats were outclassed by the Kings, as they lost Game 1 in Sydney 98–94 before returning home and losing 117–101 in Game 2. In addition to Grace, Alan Black's son, Stephen Black, was also an important member of the Wildcats' 2003 grand final team, as was Tony Ronaldson, Rob Feaster, Matthew Burston, Brett Wheeler and James Harvey.
Petrie p 8 TCM's Felicia Feaster observes: "Tony Richardson (and fellow traveler, playwright John Osborne) typified this cinematic movement's trend for realism with an insistence on shooting on-location with natural sound and light." The insistence on realism caused budgetary problems. The film was budgeted at £193,000 but went over budget because of a variety of problems in production and post-production, including noise from seagulls in Morecambe.Petrie p 9 In November 1959, The New York Times' Stephen Watts filed a substantial story from Stratford-upon- Avon in England, where Olivier was appearing in Shakespeare's Coriolanus and commuting to Morecambe, where The Entertainer was being filmed on location.
Change continued into the playing season as new team president Brian Burke fired general manager Jay Feaster on December 12, 2013, and assumed the role himself on an interim basis. Calgary's home arena, the Scotiabank Saddledome, suffered significant damage over the summer during widespread flooding that inundated the land around the arena. The facility was repaired in time for the playing season, a year in which the Flames were widely predicted to finish in last place in the Pacific Division. Calgary finished the year with a 35–40–7 record to finish sixth in the seven-team division and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.
The first hockey game following the building's reopening was a Flames pre-season contest on September 14. The Flames restructured their hockey operations department at the start of September, as Brian Burke was brought into the organization in the newly created position of president of hockey operations. General Manager Jay Feaster reported to Burke, while Ken King was elevated to president and CEO of Calgary Sports and Entertainment, the corporation that controls the Flames, Calgary Hitmen, Calgary Roughnecks, Calgary Stampeders and Abbotsford Heat. On the ice, Mark Giordano was named the 19th captain in Flames' franchise history, succeeding Jarome Iginla, who was traded during the previous season.
Jarome Iginla made his first return to Calgary on December 10, 2013, where the fans greeted him with a long standing ovation prior to the game as the Flames played a video tribute. Following the contest, a 2–1 Boston Bruins victory, Iginla was named the game's third star and took two laps around the rink to more cheers from the crowd. On December 12, Brian Burke announced the decision to change the franchise's leadership structure. General Manager Jay Feaster and Assistant General Manager John Weisbrod were both dismissed, while Burke took over the general manager's duties on an interim basis while he conducted a search for a permanent replacement.
Despite a victory over the Buffalo Sabres after Christmas, and with the team still mired in 14th place in the Western Conference, General Manager and Executive Vice President Darryl Sutter announced his resignation from both positions on December 28, exactly eight years after he was hired by the team to become its coach in 2002. The move was not entirely Sutter's decision, as he was asked by the organization to step aside. The decision came as a shock to many fans, even as it was believed to be inevitable following the team's decline in recent seasons. Jay Feaster assumed control of the team, serving as acting general manager.
Writer Anthony Synnott placed The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane in a trend of sexualizing children in film, calling Rynn the "murdering nymphet" and comparing her to Foster's child prostitute character Iris in Taxi Driver (1976). Anthony Cortese also referred to Foster as giving an "encore performance" of Taxi Driver, calling Rynn "a 13-year-old imp of maturing sexuality". Scholar Andrew Scahill described it as fitting a cinematic narrative of children in rebellion, one in which the child appears seemly, as with The Innocents (1961), The Omen (1976) and others. The genre has been debated, with Feaster arguing it was more psychological thriller than horror.
Harvard first played in an NCAA tournament in 1996. Although they lost to Vanderbilt, they hit 16 three-point attempts in the game, setting a record for an NCAA tournament game that has been subsequently tied but not exceeded as of 2017. In 1997, they again won the Ivy League, going 14–0 for their first ever undefeated conference season and an invitation to the NCAA tournament, where they faced top-seeded North Carolina and lost. In 1998, Harvard again won the conference, and had its best season ever winning 23 games, helped by the leading scorer in the nation Allison Feaster, who averaged 28.5 points per game.
The Flames wear special uniforms honouring Brad McCrimmon, a former player and coach in Calgary who died in the 2011 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl plane crash. The Flames began their off-season by solidifying their management and coaching staff. Jay Feaster, who had served as interim general manager following the departure of Darryl Sutter in December 2010, was named to the position on a permanent basis on May 16, 2011, and Special Assistant Craig Conroy accepted a four-year contract extension. Feaster's first decision as general manager was to trade 2008 first round draft pick Tim Erixon to the New York Rangers in exchange for prospect Roman Horak and two second-round picks.
The diagnosis caused Carle to retire from hockey as a player but despite the end of his career he was still drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning 203rd overall in the seventh and final round. Then-owner Oren Koules's son attended Shattuck-Saint Mary's at the same time as Carle and Oren directed GM Jay Feaster to select Carle in recognition of Carle's hard work. University of Denver honored the scholarship it had offered to Carle and he began attending in the fall of 2008. Wanting to keep him as part of the team, head coach George Gwozdecky offered Carle a place as an assistant coach with the program as long as he was a student at Denver.
Eleven years later, after installation of additional radar and electronic equipment and enlargement of her superstructure at Boston Naval Shipyard, Mills was reclassified DER-383 and recommissioned 3 October 1957, Lt. Comdr. Joseph E. Feaster in command. Assigned as a radar picket of the North American Continental Air Defense System to deter surprise attack by locating and reporting aircraft headed toward North America, Mills sailed 3 April 1958 from Newport, Rhode Island, for Argentia, Newfoundland, to begin her first picket. She made 17 subsequent 3 to 4-week pickets on the barrier stretching from Newfoundland to the Azores through 28 July 1961, as well as one off the southeast coast of the United States.
Years later, in The Long-Distance Runner: An Autobiography, Richardson reflected on the role the play played in his life: “I couldn't have articulated it, having never been introspective...(but) The Entertainer was a key moment in my development, because all the ideas and convictions I was to work with afterward were crystallized in its making.” Writing for TCM, Felicia Feaster reports Richardson's memories of creating the play as well as the film: "The character of Archie Rice, which tapped into aspects of Larry's personality that he'd never used before, immediately obsessed him. He accepted the play before it was even finished." After rehearsals began, Richardson recalled, “His understanding of Archie was so complete that he could make anything work.

Lovecraft archive Blake's death is the starting point for another sequel by Bloch, "The Shadow from the Steeple" (1950). Blake's fiction is referred to in Ramsey Campbell's “The Franklyn Paragraphs” (1973) and Philip José Farmer's “The Freshman” (1979). Lovecraft's tale names five stories written by Robert Blake: "The Burrowers Beneath"; "Shaggai"; "The Stairs in the Crypt"; "In the Vale of Pnath" and "The Feaster from the Stars" which as Robert M. Price has pointed out are friendly spoofs of tales written by Robert Bloch (for more info see Price's anthology The Book Eibon (Chaosium, 2002, p. 191)).
With a final record of 35–40–7, the Flames finished sixth in the Pacific Division with 77 points and failed to qualify for the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs. The team also finished 13th in the 14-team Western Conference, ten points ahead of the Edmonton Oilers. The Flames finished 27th overall in the NHL standings, and after their status was left unchanged in the draft lottery for the top pick, were confirmed as the fourth overall selection at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The team entered the draft with a new general manager as Brad Treliving, formerly the assistant general manager of the Phoenix Coyotes, was hired to serve as permanent replacement for Jay Feaster on April 28, 2014.
Erixon, however, refused to sign with Calgary because he felt he would not make the roster. Faced with the prospect of losing his rights before the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Flames' general manager Jay Feaster traded Erixon to the New York Rangers on 1 June 2011, in exchange for two 2011 second round draft picks (the Flames selected Markus Granlund and Tyler Wotherspoon) and prospect Roman Horák. He made his NHL debut on 7 October 2011 against the Los Angeles Kings in a game played in Sweden. He was sent to the AHL Connecticut Whale after playing nine games for the Rangers. He was recalled to the Rangers on 14 December 2011 after scoring 1 goal and 11 assists in 13 games for the Whale, and since shuttled between New York and Connecticut several times.
Over his four collegiate years, McCollum grew into his body by degrees and weight- trained with the same regularity, having the result that he added 30 pounds of muscle. Even though he was already considered virtually destined to be a top NBA draft pick by his third year, he decided to finish his final year of college instead of leaving sooner for the NBA; a consummate student of journalism, McCollum penned an article for Sporting News explaining why he opted to continue on with his education. On November 25, 2012, McCollum scored 26 points in a 91–77 win over Sacred Heart, to pass Rob Feaster as the Patriot League's all-time leading scorer. On January 5, 2013, McCollum broke his left foot in a game against Virginia Commonwealth University, ending his season early.
She was born in Harlem, New York, and spent much of her childhood in hospital due to a congenital bone condition. By her mid-teens, her condition had stabilised, though she remained unable to walk without crutches or other assistance. She met Carl Feaster of doo-wop group The Chords, who encouraged her to enter talent contests as a singer, and in 1951 she won two consecutive competitions at the Apollo Theater. She was signed by Savoy Records, and had her first recording session with the company in September 1951. Although her early singles were commercially unsuccessful, she was invited by Alan Freed to perform at what later became recognised as the first major rock and roll concert: the Moondog Coronation Ball held in Cleveland, Ohio on March 21, 1952.
On November 2, 2005, Demers released a biography, written by Mario Leclerc, entitled En toutes lettres (English translation: All Spelled Out), in which he revealed that he is functionally illiterate. According to Demers, he never really learned to read or write because of his abusive childhood in Montreal. He covered for himself by asking secretaries and public relations people to read letters for him, claiming he could not read English well enough to understand them (though he speaks English and French equally well). When he served as general manager of the Lightning, he brought in Cliff Fletcher and Jay Feaster as his assistants; as it turned out, they did most of the work a general manager would normally do because Demers knew he could not do it himself.
On July 4, 2008, Dan Boyle, despite coming off a recent contract extension, was traded (along with Brad Lukowich) to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Matt Carle, Ty Wishart, a first-round draft pick in 2009 and a fourth-round pick in 2010. Boyle was pressured to waive his no-trade clause by Tampa Bay's ownership, who said they would otherwise place him on waivers, where he would likely be claimed by the Atlanta Thrashers. In the fallout from the trade, Boyle would call Lightning ownership "liars" for misrepresenting the aforementioned events to the public, while former coach Tortorella later labeled them as "cowboys" and said he had zero respect for them. Frustrated at interference in the team's hockey operations by Barrie and Koules, seven days later, Jay Feaster resigned as general manager, despite having three years remaining on his contract.
As the Flames lost close games, Jarome Iginla's goal scoring struggles resulted in criticism directed at the Flames' captain, notably from former teammate-turned-radio host Rhett Warrener, who argued that Iginla had lost the ability to out-battle his opposition. Iginla brushed off the criticism while acknowledging he wasn't scoring as he had hoped with only one goal in the first month of the season. He had only two goals in 28 games dating back to the end of the 2011–12 season, but scored two to lead the Flames to a 5–4 come-from-behind victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on February 24 that evened Calgary's record at 7–7–3. Having failed to complete a trade with the Colorado Avalanche for centre Ryan O'Reilly, a restricted free agent who was embroiled in a bitter contract dispute with Colorado, General Manager Jay Feaster signed O'Reilly to an offer sheet worth $10 million over two years on February 28.
Trade rumours followed Kiprusoff as well, despite his reluctance to leave Calgary following the birth of his second child. The Flames gave the Toronto Maple Leafs permission to speak with Kiprusoff's agent to see if the team could convince the goaltender to accept a trade. According to Feaster however, Kiprusoff told Toronto that "Miikka was clear that he didn't want to lead Toronto on, that he didn't want to go there if his heart wasn't 100 per cent set on it and committed to it", therefore the Flames agreed to honour Kiprusoff's request to remain in Calgary. Without Iginla and top defenceman Jay Bouwmeester, who was dealt to the St. Louis Blues, the team continued to struggle, particularly on the road. The Flames set a franchise record for consecutive losses, enduring 13 consecutive defeats away from the Saddledome before ending the streak against the Colorado Avalanche with a 3–1 victory on April 8.
After missing the playoffs for the third consecutive season, all aspects of the Flames organization were questioned by the fans and media. Head coach Brent Sutter's three-year contract expires on June 30, 2012, and while he expressed a desire to return for the 2012–13 season, it was unknown if the team would sign him to a new deal. In a late-season interview with Fan 960 radio, former Flames coach Mike Keenan argued that his dismissal in 2009 was forced by team President Ken King and the lead owner Murray Edwards, prompting arguments that General Manager Jay Feaster's job was also being interfered with by King and Edwards. Feaster denied the allegation, stating that he had "full and complete responsibility for the hockey operations of the club including personnel" and added that his reporting relationship in Calgary was no different from when he was the general manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the early 2000s.
The Great McGinty had numerous working titles: "The Story of a Man", "The Vagrant", "The Mantle of Dignity", "The Biography of a Bum", and "Down Went McGinty", (which was used for the film's release in the U.K). Sturges had written the original story, "The Story of a Man", in 1933 with Spencer Tracy in mind. According to film historian Kevin Brownlow, Sturges was inspired by the career of William Sulzer, who was impeached and removed from office as governor of New York. After trying to sell the story to Universal in 1935, and the Saturday Evening Post in 1938 under the title Biography of a Bum, Sturges finally sold it to Paramount on August 19, 1939 for $10 on the condition that he be allowed to direct it.TCM Notes Paramount agreed, and provided Sturges a budget of $350,000, a three-week shooting schedule,Feaster, Felicia "The Great McGinty" (TCM article) and inexpensive stars to work with.
The call sign was changed to WUSS ("We're The United States of Soul!") and the station began to target the black community with its programming. During its 20-year run as an Urban station, some of the WUSS personalities included Larry Hicks, Larry Hayes, Lee "Brown Sugar" Sherman, Ron Allen, Eddie O'Jay, Stan Brooks, Cooks Books, Kingsley Smith, Ellis B. "Bruce Ellis" Feaster, Steve Ross, with The Dude & The Dudess, Vernon Robbins, Cleo Rowe, and William K. Fisher Jr. WUSS was successful for a number of years under the name "1490 jAMs", but eventually fell victim to the general trend away from music on AM. After a short period of running satellite-delivered talk and oldies/blues programming, it went silent in the mid-1990s, then was sold to the owners of WOND. The new ownership changed the station's city of license to Pleasantville and relocated its transmitter to the WOND site in that city.
