This spinnenkopmolen stood on the south side of the Jelsumer Feart at . It was a drainage mill. The first mention of the mill was in 1832 and it was still standing in 1850.

Nij Beets was situated in a polder landscape. The Polderhoofdcanal runs through Nij Beets. As of 2011 it was made navigable. It runs from De Veenhoop off by Nij Beets to the Nije feart by De Uilesprong.

Corracloona Court Tomb was built c. 2000–1500 BC, in the early Bronze Age. It is locally known as Prince Connell's Grave (Irish: Feart Chonaill Flaith). There are several nobles of this name in Irish legend; the most likely candidate is Conall Gulban, 5th-century founder of the Cenél Conaill.

The remains of the Marne river to the north of this new dyke, is called the Harnzer Feart. It was crossed by the Marnedyk with a sluice gate, the Kimswerter syl. This stream was diverted north to Harlingen, and the remanent heading to the coast was called Bidlersfeart. Bidlersfeart was crossed by the Griene Dyk at a sluice gate called Bantumer syl.

The battle of Sciath na Feart took place at Tulsk, in a fog so dense that the sides only realised their proximity when their cavalries were almost upon one another. Bingham's men fled to their camp, and Maguire pursued but was repulsed and in his turn pursued. The Irish lost MacGauran; the English lost William Clifford. Maguire retired into his country with considerable spoil.

2014 map of Drachten The Drachtster Feart (Drachtservaart) Drachten is situated in the municipality of Smallingerland in the east of the province of Friesland in the north of the Netherlands. Leeuwarden is to the northwest, Groningen northeast, and Heerenveen southwest. It is located along the Wijde Ee waterway, which flows into the larger Prinses Margriet Kanaal. It is surrounded by many small towns; its environment consists of lowlands with forests and peat moors, and nearby lakes.

Dalnavert (Scottish Gaelic Dail nam Feart) is a small rural hamlet, that lies 4 miles northeast of Insh, and 8 miles northeast of Kingussie, in the strath of the River Spey, in the west Cairngorms National Park, in Badenoch and Strathspey, Inverness-shire, Scottish Highlands and is in the Scottish council area of Highland. Dalnavert is the ancestral home of Sir John A. Macdonald, first Prime Minister of Canada. Both his mother and first wife came from Dalnavert. The single track B970 B road which connects Kingussie to Inverdruie passes Dalnavert.

A study on the vertebral column torso and tail proportions of Mesosaurus suggests that, while juveniles may have been fully aquatic, adults might have spent some time on land; this is further vindicated by the rarity of adult animals in aquatic settings and some faeces showing signs of drying fracture. However, how terrestrial they were is difficult to say, as this same study states that terrestrial foraging would have been difficult due to their speciations to an aquatic life.

There is a historical reference to Dewar in the 'Ragman Rolls', which is described as '..the Submission and Fealty sworne by the Generality of all the Scots Nation to King Edward I between the years 1292 to 1298’. It records a Thomas de Dewere and Piers de Dewere, both of the place Dewar in the parish of Heriot, Midlothian in the county of Edinburgh, 'did render true and rightful homage to King Edward I of England' at Berwick-on-Tweed on the 28th day of August in the year 1296. In the ‘Scottorum Historiae’ (1527) Hector Boece suggests that Thomas de Dewere and Piers de Dewere were descendants of a Malcolm Robert Dewere, formerly of Ewich near Strathfillan and Glen Dochart, who received land in Heriot as a reward for slaying a marauding wolf 'muckle feart' in the district. Malcolm named this land as Dewere, now Dewar, and was known thereafter as Malcolm de Dewere or 'Dewer the Wolf'.
