In "Business Trip", Andy and Oscar bond over Andy's failed attempt to set Oscar up, drunkenly calling Angela and asking why they haven't consummated their relationship. Andy does admit Angela makes him a "better man" during his talks with Oscar, although he fails to hear Dwight in the background of the call. In the morning, Angela pushes him back to first base, although Andy feels better from the closer relationship he's gained with Oscar.

Kimba's KGB bodyguard escapes the firefight and shoots Vlaminck in the chest, but Vlaminck kills him with his last bazooka rocket as he dies. Following the bombardment, Dupree and his two African mercenaries attack the nearby army camp. A Zangaran soldier throws a grenade at them as he flees and one of the African mercenaries throws it back, but it falls short and Dupree, deafened by the gunfire and shelling, fails to hear the warnings and is accidentally killed in the blast. Around midday, Endean arrives in Clarence to install Colonel Bobi as the new Zangaran president.

The series begins in 1996 with a married couple, Sarah (Holly Aird) and David (Adam Kotz) Hooper, going to a busy beach with their young children Alice, Jasmine (Emma Natasha Miles) and Sean (Owen Donovan) on a bank holiday. After some time three-year-old Alice is accidentally left alone and vanishes when her father goes to get ice cream and her mother fails to hear his cries to watch her and presumes she is with him. A frantic search fails to yield any results, and Alice is presumed dead by drowning and is remembered through a commemoration plaque near the beach. The series then moves forward eleven years, with Sarah refusing to believe her daughter is dead.

In a supposedly private meeting later with a cancer-stricken elderly convict, "Trick", who has only a few weeks to live, Embry is taken into his confidence about a job pulled many years earlier when he and some friends stole some $8.5 million of Mafia money, hidden in a casino skim bank. As a last request, he says that Embry can have half, and give the other half to a female friend named Louise. He tells Embry to go to Cherry Hill, New Jersey and dig down seven feet in the basement of a house on Pleasant Street, number 7322. Unknown to them, however, Lyle is listening in the cell next-door, though he fails to hear the house number correctly, putting down 7324 instead and then changing it to 7320.
