Farkas Ferenc took an active role in Zala county's society. He was one of the first supporters of the fire-fighting introduction and he even assisted personally in several occasions to extinguish fire.

Construction was completed in 1956 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers at a cost of $12.5 million, $ in today's dollars, an economical $10.15 per square foot ($109.25 per square meter). UAVs can help in disaster relief by providing intelligence across an affected area.
