Traeger tries to use a Predator weapon on the alien but accidentally kills himself in the process. At times, he was almost portrayed as a Gandhi-like figure – albeit one who would disintegrate timewasters.

As "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" play, the message states that viewers must commit suicide to prevent the enemy force from capturing them, and euthanise any children or pets present, recommending suicide by gunshot via the "victory position". The message states that it "will repeat until there are none to read it" and concludes with "The 51st state is not a place".
