ICS in Zumikon The Inter-Community School Zürich (ICS or ICSZ) is a private, independent, international, co-educational day school and offers a comprehensive educational programme in English for children from ages of 3 to 18. The School is international in character and welcomes students of all nationalities. Since 1971, the Inter-Community School has been located in Zumikon near Zurich, Switzerland. It has been an International Baccalaureate World School since 1993.

Treblinka museum receives most visitors per day during the annual March of the Living educational programme which brings young people from around the world to Poland, to explore the remnants of the Holocaust. The visitors whose primary destination is the march at Auschwitz II-Birkenau, visit Treblinka in the preceding days. In 2009, 300 Israeli students attended the ceremony led by Eli Shaish from the Ministry of Education. In total 4,000 international students visited.

From 1973 to 1978, Hulot worked as an agency photographer for Sipa Press where he documented the 1976 Guatemala earthquake and interviewed Ian Smith during the Rhodesian Bush War. Hulot left Sipa Press in 1978 to move to France Inter after being offered work as a radio journalist and producer. Hulot debuted on television during the children's program Les Visiteurs du mercredi. Hulot also presented the short-lived educational programme Les Pieds au mur.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Priyantha has also been responsible for producing a number of TV Programmes. Kekulu Yaya a 65 episode educational programme for children. Yarns Bar – a comedy show in addition to Deyyange Horawa, Aluth Sithuwam, Surf X-Force and the extremely popular, political satire muppet show Jabos Lane as well as a number of teledramas. And also he produced, written and directed the Sakuge Kathawa teledrama which telecasted on Swarnavahini.

An educational programme, Cúla4 Ar Scoil ("Cúla 4 at School"), was created in April 2020, in response to the closure of all schools during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Ireland in 2020. This followed RTÉ's launch of its Home School Hub in March 2020. It is recorded in Connemara, with teachers Caitriona ni Chualain and Fiachra O Dubhghaill presenting daily lessons for the 30-minute show. A second series began in September.

This is a handbook for teachers published in 2002 together with Háttér Support Society for LGBT People in Hungary. The handbook contains information materials, activities to handle the question of homosexuality, writings about school times, a dictionary, recommended readings and films, as well as the contact information of LGBT organizations. Its content is being reviewed and updated as part of the "Getting to Know LGBT People" educational programme, of which more information is shared below.

The EPSA Annual Congress is the biggest and most important event in the EPSA calendar and takes place usually in April. It is where all EPSA members have the opportunity to meet and discuss EPSA and the pharmaceutical profession in general during this event. The EPSA Annual Congress consists of an Educational Programme (workshops and trainings), Social Programme and a General Assembly. The EPSA Annual Congress is at least 7 days and 6 nights long.

A series of anthropological analyses of the Karipúna community have been undertaken, especially in light of the Karipúna identity and schooling system. Tassinari and Cohn in 2009 critically evaluated, just like Ferreira, the bilingual education program and demonstrated the caveats in the CIMI-organized three-year educational programme. Ladhams is a well-cited and succinct socio-historical investigation of the Karipúna community's origins, which is generally accepted by anyone writing about KFC ethnography afterwards.

Brihan Maharashtra is an organisation supporting natives of the Indian state of Maharashtra who live elsewhere. Benefiting from its educational programme, many of its members follow service-oriented careers. The community has formed several Maharshtra Mandals to preserve its culture. The community has Indian branches in New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Bangalore and other cities, and overseas branches in the United States, Canada, Russia, Japan, Australia, Tanzania, Kenya, the UAE and elsewhere.

The synagogue now has more than 900 members. Services are held every Shabbat on Friday evening and Saturday morning as well as for all Jewish festivals. Services are egalitarian; men and women sit together and take an equal role in the religious life of the community. As well as a cheder and an educational programme for children for young people, the synagogue runs a programme of adult education courses, workshops and lectures.

Muktangan (मुक्तांगण), an initiative of Paragon Charitable Trust, is a pioneering educational programme with an innovative model, working in close partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and a number of NGOs across India. Muktangan executes their programmes with support from other partners like Maharashtra Dyslexia Association, Ummeed Child Development and Remedial Centre, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Nirmala Niketan, Teach for India Programme and Absolute Return for Kids' School Leaders India Programme.

The choir were winners of the Southern Grammar School Regional Heat of the UTV School Choir of the Year 2005. Also in 2005 the choir took part in the 20th anniversary of Sing Carols which was broadcast on BBC NI and BBC Radio Ulster. Their live BBC Radio Ulster's performance of Elaine Agnew's commissioned work Blessed was used on the promotional CD for the European Chamber Orchestra's educational programme throughout the European Union.

Bottom Wood is currently still owned by the Chiltern Society and managed as a nature reserve by volunteers from the Society's Bottom Wood Group, in conjunction with the Chiltern Woodlands Project. It is open to the public, and can be accessed via Old Dashwood Hill in Studley Green, with some car parking available on the road. Since 2010, the wood has been used by Mary Towerton School as part of a forest school educational programme.

Playdays (known as Playbus until 25 December 1989) was a British pre-school television programme which ran from 1988 to 1997 on CBBC. The show was the successor to Play School and, like its predecessor, was designed as an educational programme. The show's name was changed after the BBC received a complaint from the National Playbus Association. After the show was dropped from CBBC in 2002, reruns were shown on CBeebies until August 2004.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year educational programme primarily aimed at 16-to-19-year-olds in 140 countries around the world. The programme provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education and is recognized by many universities worldwide. It was developed in the early-to-mid-1960s in Geneva, Switzerland, by a group of international educators. After a six-year pilot programme that ended in 1975, a bilingual diploma was established.

The London Jewish Cultural Centre (LJCC; formerly the Spiro Institute) was a charitable organisation based (from 2005) at Ivy House, the former home of prima ballerina Anna Pavlova, in North End Road, Golders Green, London. It provided an educational programme of courses, events and leisure activities. In November 2014 it was announced that the London Jewish Cultural Centre would merge with JW3, the Jewish Community Centre London. JW3 and LJCC merged in March 2015, forming a single, enhanced organisation.

In January 2008, the government of Montenegro formed the Council for the Codification of the Montenegrin Language, which aims to standardize the Montenegrin language according to international norms. Proceeding documents will, after verification, become a part of the educational programme in Montenegrin schools. The first Montenegrin standard was officially proposed in July 2009. In addition to the letters prescribed by the Serbo-Croatian standard, the proposal introduced two additional letters, and , to replace the digraphs and .

With its educational programme in applied arts, the university was responsible for the particularly artistic quality of the country's applied arts. Between 1965 and 1975, the fine arts were neglected as a discipline in favour of design. BURG did not recover the structure it had in the 1920s until 1975, when several new disciplines were added (glass, media arts, communication design). In 1976, President Paul Jung set up the Theory and Methodology department (under Horst Oehlke and Rolf Frick).

The Church of Christ in Nigeria has played a significant role in the education of a vast number of Northern Nigeria elites, past and present. Its educational programme has been non-discriminatory, allowing individuals of all religious and other socio-cultural backgrounds to benefit from its educational programmes. There is currently an effort by COCIN to establish a University in the locality of Vom, Plateau State, Nigeria. WEC had many missionaries in Nigeria who worked with COCIN.

Other areas feature artefacts relating to daily life in the settler era. At the rear is a display of early agricultural machinery while across the road is the restored 1891 Police Stable, the 1907 Police Lock-Up and a one-hundred-year-old shearing shed relocated from further afield. A number of horse-drawn appliances and carts can be viewed at this site. In 1983 the museum received an award from the Museums Australia for Best Educational Programme.

Yūka Nanri debuted on NHK's (an educational programme) in 1995 as a child star. In 1997, she joined , a stage group for young girls as one of its seventh generation members, and acted in musicals and other theatrical performances. Nanri left the group in August 2001 and made her voice acting debut that year as Bubbles in the Japanese version of The Powerpuff Girls. After that, she officially started her voice acting activities as the protagonist of Gunslinger Girl.

Under the trade name Høyang , the company produced a wide range of goods, the best known being cookware including pans, coffee pots and pressure cookers. New items are constantly added, such as a 3-tonne piece of industrial machinery. In the winter of 2009-10 the museum was the site of a multidisciplinary educational programme for all ninth-year students in northern Vestfold. Norway's Digital Museum houses an online selection, mostly of cookware, from the Holmestrand Aluminium Museum.

Agricola held the belief that a person who is born deaf can express himself by putting down his thoughts in writing. The book was not published until 1515. His statement that deaf people can be taught a language is one of the earliest positive statements about deafness on record (Gannon, 1981). Agricola's De formando studio—his long letter on a private educational programme—was printed as a small booklet and thus influenced pedagogical insights of the early-sixteenth century.

This technology is not limited to azi; it is used by normal humans as well, though to a lesser extent and after they have a chance to develop (i.e. usually after the age of six). This results in profound psychological differences; for example, CITs are much more capable of handling new and uncertain situations, while azi are able to concentrate better. The overall educational programme of an azi is referred to as his or her "psychset".

In 1957, girls' schools were integrated into the national educational programme. That year, two girls' schools accommodating 451 students and 14 female teachers were formed. The Ekululameni Vocational Rehabilitation Centre provides training for disabled adults. Formerly, the Embelekweni pre-school provided care for children aged 0 to 5, many of whom had severe and multiple disabilities.

In 2008, Samson asked hundreds of schoolboys and schoolgirls to compose letters in which he would cancel his membership of the PVDA (the Dutch labour party). The pupils were asked to give a motivation why the artist no longer wished to be a party member. All these letters, signed by Samson, were sent to the party headquarters. This educational project, entitled "Showing one's colours", was part of the educational programme of exhibition space TENT in Rotterdam.

From 1908, he took up important positions in the Ministry of Education. The Lowdown is a documentary series for young people first broadcast on Children's BBC in 1988. Reminiscent of World In Action and Panorama it was produced by Landseer Productions, and broadcast after Newsround (and similar to Newsround Extra) until 1998. One episode of the documentary (filmed in Page Moss, Liverpool in 1992) looked at an educational programme called "Child to Child" and how it was being used to combat problems with solvent abuse that were prevalent in the area at the time.

The Common Tasks for Assessment (or CTAs) are standardized tests that are part of a compulsory educational programme in South Africa. All Grade 9 students have to complete tasks, which comprise 25% of their year mark. At the end of Grade 9 they can decide to leave school without matriculation or to continue until grade twelve. The program consists of two categories, A and B. The first section consists of a series of tasks, which are divided into several activities.

In 2004, The Roly Mo Show began airing on CBeebies. Ramakrishna Dalmia, 46-year- old, who inherited a sugar mill in Bihar, started two cement industries, one each in Bihar and Kallakudi. He was challenging the Associated Cement Companies (ACC), by importing foreign machinery. While the industry at Rohat Nagar in Bihar was started without any issue, he faced opposition in Kallakudi against naming the place as Dalmiapuram.

Rotoroa Island is an island in the Hauraki Gulf next to Waiheke Island. The Rotoroa Island Trust’s vision is for the island to become a sanctuary where people can experience the wonder of New Zealand wildlife. Rotoroa Island is a conservation park in the Hauraki Gulf for endangered species like Kiwi and Takahe, and also offers an environmental educational programme for schools through its strong relationship with Auckland Zoo. Project Janszoon aims to transform the ecological prospects of the Abel Tasman National Park.

There was also a house of the Beguines, founded in 1268. On 15 May 1525 it was dissolved and sold off. The buildings were bought in 1857 by the Sisters of Loreto, known locally as the "English Ladies" (Englische Fräulein), who founded here a "Private Higher School for Girls" (Private Höhere Töchterschule). Of its successor establishments, the Insel-Institut was closed in 1991, but the Maria-Ward-Realschule continues as a Realschule for girls within the educational programme of the Diocese of Augsburg.

He originally asked for his fee to be paid as a royalty of 1d (one pre- decimalisation penny) for each badge made, but was offered a flat fee of £100 (equivalent to around £1,600 at 2006 rates). The museum has an active on-site events programme, which includes historical re-enactment displays. Regular events are World War I Night in the Trenches and Carols in the Trenches. The use of volunteer tutors allows costs to be kept low for students from developing countries. The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) is an educational programme for students between the ages of 11 to 16 around the world as part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum. MYP is intended to prepare students for the two-year IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). In the MYP, students are required to receive instruction in all eight subject groups; Language Acquisition, Language and Literature, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Physical and Health Education, and Design. Typically, a student must receive at least 50 hours of instruction in all eight subject groups every year.

The rest is pumped from the River Eden from an abstraction point at Chiddingstone, generally during the winter months. Magic Grandad is an educational programme which originally aired on the BBC Two Schools section Watch during 1995. The show saw Magic Grandad, played by Geoffrey Bayldon, take his young grandchildren, played by Kristy Bruce and James Moreno, back in time to see historical events and people such as the Great Fire of London or Florence Nightingale. Cheryl Hall also starred in the show as the children's mother. The programme was said to make learning about history "fun for youngsters" and was aimed at children aged 4–7 years.

In addition to deep space and solar system exploration, ESAC hosts the data processing of SMOS, a satellite observing the earth, and the CESAR educational programme. ESA's deep-space antenna in Europe is located in Cebreros, Avila, about 90 km from Madrid and 65 km from ESAC. This installation provides essential support to the activities of ESAC. Inaugurated in September 2005, Cebreros features a highly accurate pointing control system and a 35-metre antenna that allow ESA to gather data from distant missions to Mercury, Venus, Mars and beyond.

William Grant Murray, director of the Swansea Art School, became the Gallery's first director; since 1951 the Gallery has had its own Curator. Richard Glynn Vivian's collection, like most private collections, was eclectic. By donations – including the Deffett Francis collection of prints and drawings and the K. S. Meager bequest of Swansea china – and by purchases the Gallery's holdings have become more representative of the range of European art, while remaining rich in the work of local artists. The Gallery also presents loan exhibitions and events, and has an educational programme.

Kaloi k'Agathoi is a theatre company specialising in Classical drama. It is based in Herefordshire and operates throughout the UK. The company stages original adaptations of Ancient Greek plays, and has developed an educational programme to promote and foster the teaching of Classical dramatic texts through drama. Improvisation is a key feature of Kaloi k'Agathoi performances, facilitating interactivity and enabling educational workshops to be tailored easily and effectively. In August 2009 Kaloi k'Agathoi performed their version of Agamemnon and Daedalus and Icarus for Three Choirs Plus, part of the Three Choirs Festival.

The first principle of his Declaration of Ten Guiding Principles stated that "all nationalities enjoy equal rights in politics, economy, and education". He also reorganized Xinjiang Daily, the only regional newspaper at the time, to be issued in Mandarin, Uyghur and Kazakh language. The educational programme encouraged the Han to learn Uyghur and Uyghurs to learn Mandarin. Sheng's nationality policy also entailed the establishment of the Turkic languages schools, the revival of madrassas (Islamic schools), the publication of the Turkic languages newspapers and the formation of the Uyghur Progress Union.

Few students knew that using condoms, having only one sexual partner, and attending clinics for information and tests can all help prevent HIV/AIDS. Before the implementation of the educational programme, students in both schools also expressed hostility toward HIV-positive individuals – very few indicated that they would welcome an HIV-positive student into their class. They were also likely to underestimate the prevalence and severity of the disease. Following the completion of the AIDS awareness programme, the students who had participated were more knowledgeable about HIV transmission, prevention, and the course of the disease.

On The Move is a British television series made by the BBC and first broadcast in 1975 and 1976 in 50 ten-minute episodes."On the Move" , BFI Film & TV database Produced by David Hargreaves and directed by Barbara Derkow, this engaging situation comedy was in fact an educational programme aimed at adults with literacy problems, and linked to a national campaign at the time. It was credited with removing some of the stigma attached to illiteracy. The running narrative featured the characters of Alf (Bob Hoskins), a removal man who had problems reading and writing, and his friend Bert (Donald Gee).

Pardada Pardadi Educational Society (PPES) was established in 2000 by Virender (Sam) Singh, a retired U.S. Dupont South Asia head, who grew up in Anoopshahr. Based in this rural setting, the organisation works to address the issue of gender bias in society and to raise rural girls and their families out of their state of poverty. To that end PPES developed an educational programme and set up the Pardada Pardadi Girls Vocational School (PPGVS). In 2000, PPGVS started with 45 girls from the poorest families of the area; today the school enrolls about 1000 students from 43 villages.

Mine-awareness billboard Croatia has implemented a mine-awareness educational programme aimed at reducing the frequency of mine-related accidents through an ongoing information campaign. On 10 December 2009, the company announced that mobile phone check-in is now available for flights departing Athens Airport, making Olympic the first Greek airline to offer this service. The Faulkes Telescope Project (FTP) is supported by the Dill Faulkes Educational Trust. One of the waymarked trails at Moors Valley Country Park The visitors' centre Moors Valley Country Park, officially Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, is a Country Park situated in Ashley Heath, Dorset on the border with Hampshire, in the south of England. The park has adventure play equipment, a tree top walkway, a 'Go Ape!' high ropes course, a visitor centre and restaurant. There is also a narrow gauge steam railway (the Moors Valley Railway), a golf course, lakes, cycle hire, waymarked walks and cycle routes. A ranger service provides a wide range of events and an educational programme.

This academic institution would be vital to sustain the intellectual life of the city, and indeed the whole province. Moreover, it was argued that the establishment of a university in Maastricht could contribute to the government's restructuring efforts in this part of the Netherlands, which was experiencing economic challenges following the collapse of the Limburg coal mining industry. Sobekwa was born in Katlehong, a township, 35 km from Johannesburg, South Africa. He learned photography in 2012 through participation in the first Of Soul and Joy Project, an educational programme for young people run in the township of Thokoza; the workshop was given by Bieke Depoorter and Cyprien Clément-Delmas. His photo essay, Nyaope, about people who use the drug Nyaope in the township in which he lived and beyond, was published by the South African newspaper Mail & Guardian in 2014 and by Vice and De Standaard in 2015. The Coldest Journey is a Commonwealth-supported expedition to Antarctica with the aim of becoming the first team ever to cross the Antarctic land mass during the polar winter. The endeavour is aiming to raise more than $10 million for Seeing is Believing, a global charitable initiative which aims to eradicate avoidable blindness in developing countries. The team is using cloud-based web technologies to connect with schools across the world as part of an educational programme designed to inspire a new generation towards high achievement. The project is also performing scientific research and collecting data from Antarctica during the expedition to further the understanding of the effects of climate change on the polar regions.

Therdchai Jivacate (Thai: เทอดชัย ชีวะเกตุ, RTGS: Thoetchai Chiwaket, born 1941) is a Thai orthopedic surgeon and inventor known for his humanitarian activities in providing free prosthetic limbs to impoverished amputees, and for his development of techniques allowing low-cost, high-quality prostheses to be made from local materials. The activities of the Prostheses Foundation, which he founded in 1992 under royal sponsorship from the Princess Mother Srinagarindra, have expanded beyond the borders of Thailand to Malaysia, Laos, and Burma. Jivacate has established Thailand's first and only educational institution of occupational therapy at Chiang Mai University. He has also created an educational programme for children suffering from chronic diseases at Maharaj Hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima.

MAAT's programme opened on 30 June 2016 with four exhibitions held in renovated spaces of the Tejo Power Station building. On 5 October of the same year, the new building opened to the public with a large-scale work by French artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, created specifically for this space. This is a project conceived for all kinds of public, of all ages, boasting an educational programme of multidisciplinary activities about art, architecture and technology – all initiatives which encourage creative thinking and new ways of acquiring and developing knowledge. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) is an educational programme intended for students aged approximately 11 to 16 (grades 6–10 in international schools, the United States, Canada and Australia). Thus, in the United States the programme is often taught throughout the middle school years and the first two years of high school. Typically, middle schools and high schools work in coordination with each other when the programme can not be entirely hosted within one combined school. However, Willams Middle School, in Tampa, Florida, and later, Herbert Ammons Middle School in Miami, Florida, have been granted the authority to host the a full MYP curriculum in only grades 6, 7, and 8.

Following a column on the anti-gay policies of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Greek businessman Demetri Marchessini took out a quarter-page advertisement in The Daily Telegraph on 28 January 2014 to criticise her views on homosexuality and religion. The PRO selection is composed of Cinema City Campus– an educational programme for young film authors and professionals from Serbia and the region, and Cinema City Industry – a platform for networking between professionals and for raising issues of special significance for domestic cinema. Cinema City Music is the part of the festival that organizes opening and closing parties, concerts and accompanying music events during the festival, which has so far seen some of the most important domestic and foreign DJs and musicians. A special segment of the music programme is PLANET ROCK FESTIVAL, which is a result of cooperation between the Cinema City Association and HNS Creative. Planet Rock is an interdisciplinary festival, which aims to integrate several segments of alternative culture.

RC has been committed to providing transformative human rights education since 2003, and initially developed a wide range of resources aimed at secondary school children. In 2008, on the Global Day for Darfur, the group hosted its first full-day conference entitled ‘What’s so Jewish about Human Rights?’ and the event has become an annual fixture. More recently, the organisation has focused on human rights education for young professionals, the Jewish community as a whole, and continuing professional development for lawyers. RC runs an annual educational programme titled the Activist Enrichment Programme, which develops groups of highly skilled young professionals into committed and passionate activists and takes them to Geneva, Strasbourg and the Hague to campaign before the international bodies.

Afghan women obtain education in Kazakhstan within the Kazakh-Afghan state educational programme sponsored by the Republic of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan attaches great importance to empowering women and strengthening stability in Afghanistan. In September 2018, Kazakhstan reached an agreement with the European Union that the EU would contribute two million euros to train and educate Afghan women in Kazakhstan. In October 2019, Kazakhstan, the EU and the UNDP launched an education programme to train and educate several dozen Afghan women in Kazakh universities over the next five years. As of 2019, almost 900 graduates of Kazakhstan’s programme serve in top positions in the Afghan president’s office, government ministries, the border guards and police, while others work as respected doctors, engineers and journalists.

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (GOCC, Polish Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy, WOŚP) is the biggest, non-governmental, non-profit, charity organization in Poland raising money for pediatric and elderly care. The GOCC Foundation holds American Heart Association certification to provide courses in CPR and AED, and for the use of high technology for medical lifesaving. The GOCC aims to support health care in Poland by purchase of state of the art medical equipment for Polish hospitals and clinics and by establishing and running six medical programmes and one educational programme. The foundation supports paediatric and geriatric wards, furnishing them in both complex medical devices such as MRI scanners, and providing long-term care units with anti-bedsore mattresses and beds.

Those lectures used to be an important part in the education of university students. The association also carries out an educational programme for primary schools pupils with the aim to introduce the goals and activities of the UN to the youngest. UNA Slovenia every year on UN Day awards prizes to graduate and post-graduate students for ten best dissertations on UN topics, with the aim for furthering research work on the UN. Another event is the celebration on Human Rights Day, when the association also awards prizes, here for essays, photographs and drawings made by primary and secondary school pupils on the issue of human rights. Excursions to various UN institutions have the aim to make everyone interested acquainted with the actual work of the UN agencies.

She reorganized it to be more like a British school, converted it to all girls, established the house system, annual school magazine, appointed school officials etc. Besides the English Headmistress the school had a "Directora" (Spanish for Headmistress) Dr. Sofia B. de Conroy, in charge of everything related to the Peruvian educational programme as part of the school's goal of teaching the best of both educational systems. An ex-pupil, she dedicated her entire life to the school and was known fondly as Miss Topy. The School was accepted by the Cambridge University Examinations Syndicate in 1938 and announced the first three recipients of Cambridge University Certificates in Peru that year. It offers the IB (International Baccalaureate) diploma programme since 1992 and 1995 the school was accepted by the UK's Girls’ Schools Association (GSA).

After the dissolution of Syon Abbey in 1539 Mountjoy granted asylum at his London house to the pious, learned, and outspokenly conservative priest Richard Whitford, who had been patronized by his father. Whitford remained in the household until his death in 1542 and may have acted as tutor to Mountjoy's children. Like his father, Mountjoy was deeply interested in the humanist educational programme and he tried to engage the learned scholar and educationist Roger Ascham, then teaching at Cambridge, as a tutor to his eldest son and secretary to himself. Although Ascham did not take the position—and he also refused a similar offer from Margaret Roper—he admired Mountjoy and referred in flattering terms to his learning, likening his household for its patronage of learning to that of the Medici.

In 2004, Anjuman-e-taraqqi-e-Palula, the Society for the promotion of Palula, was founded by people in the Palula community to promote the continued use of their language and to encourage research and documentation of their language, history and culture. After the establishment of a written form of the language, the society is now engaged in producing literature and educational material in Palula. In 2006, Palula Alifbe (Palula alphabet book) and Palula Shiluka (Palula stories) were jointly published by the Anjuman-e-taraqqi-e-Palula and the Frontier Language Institute in Peshawar. In 2008, a mother-tongue based educational programme was launched by a local school management committee in Ashret and a first batch of Palula children could start learning to read and write in their own language.

The influences at work in the tractate are an interesting blend of Renaissance humanism with its emphasis on the via activa, tempered by the more contemplative medieval concern with personal redemption. It is clear, however, that the overwhelming thrust of Milton's educational programme as outlined in the tractate is centred in the public objective. This is likely a reaction to the scholasticism that dominated the medieval university from the twelfth century, which still held sway in Milton's time (Ainsworth 25). Both Vives and Comenius rejected the dialectical approach in education in favour of empirical observation and “the study of things rather than words, nature rather than books” (Lewalski 204).

St Paul's Monastery The reconstructed Anglo-Saxon farm Jarrow Hall – Anglo- Saxon Farm, Village and Bede Museum (formerly Bede's World) is a museum in Jarrow, South Tyneside, England which celebrates the life of the Venerable Bede; a monk, author and scholar who lived in at the Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, Wearmouth-Jarrow, a double monastery at Jarrow and Monkwearmouth, (today part of Sunderland), England. The site features a museum dedicated to the life and times of the famous monk, with other features and attractions – including a reconstructed Anglo-Saxon farm and the 18th-century Georgian building Jarrow Hall House itself – reflected in a calendar of activities, including special themed events, an educational programme for schools and heritage skills workshops, alongside space for businesses and events.

Launched in 2012 to coincide with the London 2012 Olympic Games, the Wimbledon Sporting Project is a five-year educational programme, which includes films, books and sporting activities provided to schools in the London Borough of Merton at no cost. Through a mixture of sport history, stories from sporting champions and practical sports packages, the aim of the project is to inspire the next generation of sporting champions. In May 2012, the Common Ground film premièred at the Odeon in Wimbledon, bringing together celebrities, corporate donors and schools to provide sustainable sports education to schools across Merton. 21 sporting celebrities, 18 young sporting hopefuls, 39 sponsors and partners, 27 True Volunteers and over 60 individuals from different walks of life all donated their time, expertise and resources to produce an inspirational film and book for young people.

The Law on Higher Education (2002) stipulates that educational establishments in Ukraine including those owned privately must be licensed before they can offer tertiary level educational programmes. To be granted a licence a HEI must meet the required standards set by the Ministry of Education and Science for higher education status at a certain level. El Said co-founded Cimatheque, a multi purpose space dedicated to celebrating film and supporting the needs of independent filmmakers in Egypt. Built in the context of Egypt’s emergent alternative cinema scene and a country in transition, it is conceived as a dynamic work space for independent filmmakers to collaborate, research and network, while addressing essential needs: education, screening and resources. Equipped with a screening room, viewing stations and a specialised library of films and books, Cimatheque aims to enable access to films rarely, if ever, shown in Egypt, featuring a rich variety of international films within a wider screening programme that gives essential exposure to Arab and Egyptian independent films. Alongside this, Cimatheque provides a year round educational programme of workshops and courses focusing on key issues like producing, screen-writing, editing and camera work, bringing together local and international filmmakers and industry professionals to exchange skills and experiences.

In 1994, Bach's old choir, the Thomanerchor in Leipzig made its UK debut, Gustav Leonhardt directed at the LBS Golden Jubilee in 1996 and gave a rare keyboard recital in 1999, and in 2005 the UK 'live' première of a newly discovered Bach Aria was given, to name but a few. Under the guidance and leadership of Margaret Steinitz, the London Bach Society has continued to entertain, experiment, uplift and inspire all lovers of Bach's music as well as building up an invaluable database for Bach studies and an imaginative educational programme. In the autumns of 2006 and 2007 the LBS celebrated its Diamond Jubilee at two Bachfests that not only reflected upon past achievements but also pointed the way forward into a new era. Sidebar activity included the stunning exhibition of photographs by Nicolas Guerin, a photographer who works for Positif, shown at the French Institute in Edinburgh and on the walls of GFT's Café Cosmo; a round table on literary adaptations in the cinema featuring Franco-Scottish input from Bernard MacLaverty, Alain Corneau and Leslie Hills at the French Institute where additional attractions included a programme of documentaries on writers as well as four portraits of directors Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Claire Denis, Jean-Jacques Beineix and Robert Guédiguian. Again the level of activity built on initiatives started in previous years. One of the resounding causes for optimism was the positive reaction to the educational programme (Moi César, Le Papillon and Vivre me tue) which proved popular with pupils, students and teachers. The strong opening weekend (and closing at London Ciné Lumière) with many guests in attendance including Alain Corneau, Nadine Trintingnant, Jean Veber, Nicolas Vannier, and Nicolas Guerin, ensured that the festival had a vibrant send-off and produced vibes that resonated over the days ahead.
