Kurt invites Blaine to the McKinley junior prom in "Prom Queen". The attendees greet Karofsky's election as Prom King with great enthusiasm, but a stunned silence falls when Kurt is declared Prom Queen due to having received an overwhelming number of unwanted write-in votes in the secret balloting. Humiliated, Kurt flees in tears, but is able to calm down and return for his coronation; his comment—"Eat your heart out, Kate Middleton"—garners applause that swells into an ovation. The traditional dance between King and Queen is next, and Karofsky is faced with having to partner with a boy in front of his classmates.

An eight-minute section of the second act revolves around Ade teasing Rik for corpsing during his lines and Rik’s annoyance at Ade for receiving a large round of applause from the audience when he delivers his own lines in an overly-dramatic fashion. Verhaeghen has been involved in several projects outside Klinik, including Noise Unit (with Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber of Front Line Assembly), D.Sign (with Philippe and Eliane Fichot of Die Form), X10 (with Niki Mono, Marc Ickx of A Split-Second and Vidna Obmana), and Para (with his own wife Sabine Voss). Ivens and Verhaeghen briefly reunited for a few concerts in 2003/2004, one of which was released as a CD in September 2004. The band's first album in 22 years, Eat Your Heart Out, was released in a limited pressing of 150 black vinyl copies in April 2013.

His alter-egos for various labels provided outlets for dabbling in other genres such as drum and bass/jungle (DJ Mowgly), Detroit techno (Jaguar) and even chiptune music (Nintendo Teenage Robots). After the demise of Atari Teenage Riot, Empire's major releases for DHR sought to continue in the guitar-based, punk-influenced vein of the band. Intelligence and Sacrifice utilised live guitars, breakbeats, noise, sampled cinematic dialogue and Empire's trademark spoken/shouted English vocals, while Futurist saw a more obvious return to his punk roots and consequently sounds as if it were largely recorded using all live instrumentation, even though it was electronically produced. The creation of the Eat Your Heart Out label saw a move to a much more electronic-sounding approach with comparatively subdued vocals over synthesized sounds and beats.

In 1989, Johnny Hale brought the original Comets to the UK as part of his Brean Sands Rock 'n' Roll Weekender. The Jodimars (Joey, Dick and Marshall) were backed by three members of the UK Group The Stargazers (Pete Davenport on lead guitar, Chris Gardner on piano, and Ricky Lee Brawn on drums) in a set which included the Capitol album in its entirety plus a few other later Jodimars' numbers, and was followed by a set as "The Original Comets". This remains the only billed appearance by the Jodimars since the 1960s. Lytle, Ambrose and Richards went on to tour the world as the Comets alongside pianist Johnny Grande and guitarist Franny Beecher, but included Jodimars songs in each show (most notably "Eat Your Heart Out, Annie" and "Well Now Dig This").

Originally a medium-fast song, the tempo was gradually slowed down until by late 1978 it was a slow song. Although used as a set opener on the Spring 1980 Ants Invasion UK tour, since late 1980 onwards it has been mostly used as a final encore with Ant removing his shirt during the opening chords. This particular version was recorded during the Kings of the Wild Frontier LP sessions circa August 1980. On this version, Ant can be heard saying, "Eat your heart out Do It," during the track's opening riff in direct reference to Do It Records' unofficial release of an old version of the song which had been recorded during sessions for Dirk Wears White Sox and then discarded from the track listing, on the B-side of the Zerox single repress some months earlier.

Smith considered "Eat Your Heart Out Sandy Nelson" the album's weakest track, and described "The B Side" as "a boring rock 'n' roll piss take that's been flogged time and time before". Though he praised "Knock It Off" and "Man or a Mouse?", Smith declared "sorry chums, but I don't think the three minute hero can cut it for an entire album". Reviewing the album's 2017 reissue, Record Collector's Mark Elliott commented "Bordering the novelty but BA’s offbeat lyrics don’t diminish a melodic flair". Ian Canty of Louder Than War considered Robertson's "in your face" nature to be detrimental to the songs, commenting "he’s always there, filling in any gaps with stupid voices and jokes, like a very nervous first dater scared of leaving a silence... ...though Robertson can without doubt come up with a good tune, he couldn’t leave it alone for any length of time".

The band's debut album Creature was released in February 2009, followed by their second official release entitled Invade. Invade was released in September 2010, selling over 3000 copies in its first week. The band has most recently toured Europe with Carnifex and has been part of a number of 2011-12 festivals thus far including the Bonecrusher Fest, the Jamboree, New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, the Bamboozle, South by Southwest and 2011's the Summer Slaughter Tour. In support of the Summer Slaughter Tour the band released a 4-song EP entitled Omen. The EP consists of 2 new original songs and a cover of Metallica's "Fight Fire With Fire" and Kansas' "Carry On Wayward Son". In 2013 the band signed with new label eOne Entertainment and released a third album called Elite. On April 20, 2014, vocalist Tim Goergen was hospitalized in the band's hometown of Westfield, Massachusetts with "heart/liver complications". As a result, the band was forced to miss a scheduled appearance at the "Eat Your Heart Out Fest" in Poughkeepsie, NY while touring in support of fellow deathcore mainstays Whitechapel.

Critic Robert Christgau gave the album a C grade, describing the music as "new-wave Black Sabbath, complete with technoprofessional arena echo." In a retrospective review, AllMusic's Bill Cassel gave the album a 4½-star rating, writing that while he couldn't call the album entirely successful, "for every high point like "Open Your Eyes" or "Russian Roulette" there's a clunker like "Portobello" or "Eat Your Heart Out", he couldn't fault their effort. He concluded that the album "is very much an artifact of the Reagan era and somewhat dated in its approach, but Bators' core message of personal freedom, and the fervor and sincerity with which he delivered it, have retained their resonance across the years." Michael Toland of Blurt magazine gave the album 4 stars out of 5, describing it as a "mélange of different sounds" with every song wrapped in "catchy licks, memorable choruses and a B-movie atmosphere." Toland felt that the album's "shiny but aggressive blend of garage rock, gothic pop and glam punk" should sound dated, but that the band’s "distinctive personality and strong songwriting" distinguishes them from "their more timebound peers.

Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight Chris "The Crippler" Leben appeared at the UFC 168 weigh-ins on December 27, 2013 wearing a Sirens & Sailors' "Go for the Throat" tank. On January 2, 2014, the band announced their hometown headliner (February 22, 2014) with support from This or the Apocalypse, Sworn In, and Shai Hulud. The band announced on January 2, 2013 that a drum play-through music video would be released for "Exorcist" soon. It was released on February 3, 2014 via YouTube. On January 3, 2013, the band announced that they'd be playing the Amped and Alive-sponsored "Eat Your Heart Out Fest" along with 20+ more bands on April 20, 2014 at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, New York.
