Their equivalent of body- swapping is a cloning machine that makes exact copies of someone, only differing in that the duplicates would be loyal to the Morthren cause and their existence tied to the original. Ironically, as sores are the telltale signs of alien possession in the first season, a lack of scars or any physical flaw was a telltale sign of a clone, as the Morthren are fixated with perfection. While the Eternal is their god, the Morthren are led by Malzor (played by Denis Forest, who had a large part in the Season 1 episode “Vengeance Is Mine”). Just under him was the scientist Mana (Catherine Disher, whose husband also played a major role in a Season 1 episode) with Ardix (Julian Richings who appeared briefly in “He Feedeth Among the Lillies”) as her assistant.

In the age of sail, masts were required to support the sails, and lookouts were posted on them; with the advent of engine-powered warships, masts were retained and used for observation and to spot fall of shot. Similar examples are found scattered throughout Australia, mainly in remote or inaccessible places, and it is likely that there were many more prior to European settlement of Australia.

The production of zinc cash coins probably stopped around the year 1871 as it was too expensive to maintain its production, the government of Đại Nam did not have any access to zinc mines as they were being blocked by Chinese pirates which would make it costly to try and acquire the resources necessary for their production. Zinc cash coins have always been a major source of irritation for the government as they were very heavy compared to their intrinsic value making them difficult to transport in larger quantities and were also weak and easily damaged due to their brittle nature. The transport of the zinc cash coins itself was a liability as it was not uncommon for strings to break and the coins to fall into pieces as they hit the road, but as these zinc coins were used to pay the salaries of government workers they were deemed necessary but eventually every were completely phased out in favour of the lighter and strong brass coinage though they would remain essential to the general population of Đại Nam for small transactions.

Beatty's Parlor Organ, 1882 Harmoniums reached the height of their popularity in the West in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They were especially popular in small churches and chapels where a pipe organ would be too large or expensive; in the funeral-in-absentia scene from Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, the protagonist narrates that the church procured a "melodeum" (a conflation, likely intended by Twain for satirical effect, of the names "melodeon" and "harmonium") for the occasion. Harmoniums generally weigh less than similar sized pianos and are not easily damaged in transport, thus they were also popular throughout the colonies of the European powers in this period not only because it was easier to ship the instrument out to where it was needed, but it was also easier to transport overland in areas where good-quality roads and railways may have been non-existent. An added attraction of the harmonium in tropical regions was that the instrument held its tune regardless of heat and humidity, unlike the piano.
