A Democrat in an era when Republicans dominated Vermont politics, in 1864, Linsley was the party's unsuccessful nominee for member of the Vermont House of Representatives from Burlington.
The song was used as Senator Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign song in 2008, and in the introduction of Clinton on her keynote address to the Democratic National Convention in 2008. "Blue Sky" was also performed acoustically on March 8, 2011 at Johnson Space Center as the first live version of a wake-up call to Space Shuttle Discovery during the STS-133 mission. In June 2007 BHTM recorded their annual charity show to raise money for autism research at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. The recordings were sold on USB flash drives at the merchandise stands following the performance.
The earlier onset of puberty can produce sexual drives at a time when teens are not yet fully socialized to understand the potential social and emotional consequences of sexual activities. Some scholars claim that the risk for depression is "clearly elevated" for the sexually active of either gender. "We tend to focus on the health consequences of having sex, like pregnancy and STIs, but we also need to talk to [teens] about all the emotional consequences," some experts say. Some research suggests that two- thirds of sexually active girls wish they had waited longer before having sex.
The Calgary defence was able to stop the favoured Rough Rider drives at the 8, 10 and 22 yard lines and hold them scoreless. On one of these Ottawa had successfully faked a punt. On the next possession they ran the fake punt again but Howie Turner was stopped short and Calgary took over at their 46-yard line. They quickly drove into Ottawa territory and scored on a "sleeper play" pass from Keith Spaith to Norm Hill in the end zone, which meant that Hill ran over to the far sidelines and flopped on the field, essentially hiding.
The NSC-1 upgrades would include introducing variable-speed drives at the existing pumping stations and installing a new pumping station, as well as upgrades to transfer links and treatment works at the south end of the pipeline. Initial planning also started for NSC-3, another pipeline in the same corridor. The three independent pipelines would provide greater security and redundancy, although they would be operated using an integrated communication and control system. In June 2012, stakeholders were told that construction of the NSC-2A pipeline to connect the Dikgatlhong Dam to the NSC was behind schedule.
In a town in Utah the morning after SHIELD's conflict with a Paganist hate group, Hannah Hutchins, supervisor of the local particle accelerator, is tormented by the locals for supposedly causing an explosion which killed four people. She has apparently developed telekinetic powers in self-defense, and an incident where a convenience store owner terrorizes her results in an explosion destroying the store. Coulson's team leaves Dublin and travels to Utah to interrogate Hutchins, only to find an angry mob at her house. A car spontaneously drives at the mob, riling them still further, so May tranquilizes Hutchins.
In August 2014, Big Gigantic partnered with EDM lifestyle brand Electric Family to produce a collaboration bracelet for which 100% of the proceeds are donated to Conscious Alliance. The partnership raised over $10,000 as of June 2017. In 2014 the band launched the #ABigGiganticDifference(#ABGD) initiative along with their super fan organization the Lil G's. Since then the Lil G's and #ABGD events have included yearly clothing drives at Denver's New Year's Eve celebration Decadence, and Do Good events at Rocky Mountain Food Bank and Cradles to Crayons in Boston, MA and other cities they've played in.
Evidence seized from the compound is said to include ten cell phones, five to ten computers, twelve hard drives, at least 100 computer disks (including thumb drives and DVDs), handwritten notes, documents, weapons, and an assortment of personal items. It was described by a senior Pentagon intelligence official as "the single largest collection of senior terrorist materials ever." On November 1, 2017 the CIA released to the public approximately 470,000 files and a copy of bin Laden's diary. Intelligence analysts also studied call detail records from two phone numbers that were found to be sewn into bin Laden's clothing.

Volunteers from around the world have put in more than 30,000 hours to assist with computer programming, collecting and organizing new resources, creating portals and curriculum, and building and distributing new libraries. While grants and gifts fund the development of new features, subscribers buy eGranary drives at a highly subsidized rate, just enough to recover production costs without making a profit. Subscribers cover the costs of basic librarianship; the costs of the purchase, testing, and preparation of the equipment; the transaction costs (like marketing, licensing, and accounting); and the costs of providing on-going technical support and software updates. Several value-added resellers integrate the eGranary Digital Library into their offerings.
Among the iPod's innovations were its small size, achieved using a 1.8" hard drive, whereas its competitors were using 2.5" hard drives at the time, and its easy-to-use navigation, which was controlled using a mechanical scroll wheel (unlike later iPods, which had touch-sensitive scroll wheels), a center select button, and four auxiliary buttons around the wheel. The iPod had a rated battery life of ten hours. On March 20, 2002, Apple introduced a 10GB model of the first-generation iPod for US$499. VCard compatibility was added, as well as allowing iPods to display business card information synced from a Mac.
ITE IT8212F 0812-DXS The IT8212, or more correctly the IT8212F, is a low-end Parallel ATA controller designed by ITE Tech. Depending on the implemented BIOS and configuration the IT8212F functions in either a RAID or an ATAPI mode, supporting up to four devices using dual channels. The raid mode only supports IDE Hard Disk Drives and includes RAID 0, RAID 1, Raid 0+1 and JBOD, along with a "normal" mode that essentially acts as a standard Hard Disk controller. Optical disk drives such as CD-ROM and DVD drives are supported by the ATAPI mode, which also supports Hard Disk Drives at the loss of all RAID functions.
Tony Petrocelli is a Harvard-educated attorney of Italian heritage who practices in an unidentified part of the American Southwest. He works (and drives) at a frenetic pace, not only because he is a zealous advocate for his defendants (which includes a regular run of drunks and other small-time criminal cases) but because of the vast distances of western prairie he must cross in order to meet clients, investigate his cases and make court appointments. A big case lands in his lap when he is asked to defend a young, prosperous physician who expects to be charged with the bludgeoning murder of his socialite wife.
The music video starts with the trio performing in front of an audience and shows Kristyn Osborn and her boyfriend (her then real-life boyfriend Aaron Eckhart) arguing in the car while driving on a road in the city trying to find their way. Throughout the video the trio continue to perform on stage while Kristyn and her boyfriend continue to argue. When Kristyn and her boyfriend decide to stop for gas, Kristyn decides to take the wheel while her boyfriend is pumping gas. From then on, her boyfriend slides into the passenger seat while Kristyn drives at high speeds through the city, making her boyfriend nervous.
While the Local 77 movement in the 1960s succeeded in extending racial equality towards the predominantly black labor unions, the lack of student support in the following years hindered further improvements for a demographic group with much less power than Duke's administration. Nowhere was this more apparent than in the unsuccessful unionization drives at Duke University's hospital. Although public support had decreased, Local 77 built a strong foundation for itself in its campaign during the 1960s. The labor union reached its goals of attaining higher pay, fair treatment in the workplace, and showing that they were “a force within the very institution that had marginalized them.”Ludwig, “Closing in on the Plantation,” 92.
Dulahazara Safari Park was developed on an undulating landscape of around of area at Chakaria Upazila in Cox's Bazar District, Bangladesh, some 107 km away from the port city, Chittagong, with an objective to create facilities for eco-tourism, research work and entertainment as well as from conserving wild animals in a natural environment. Late spring view of Dulahazra Safari Park Dulahazara Safari Park is home to at least 4,000 animals of 165 species. After the new government took over in January 2007, joint forces rescued many of these new residents of the park during their drives at houses and establishments owned by graft suspects. Many individuals also donated some of the animals to the park during this period.
René also created sculptures of waste accumulated along Venezuelan beaches. Beginning in the 1990s, René intermittently provided art instruction as a volunteer at institutions such as the Henry Street Settlement and Children's Museum of New York. At a time when Department of Education budget cuts were negatively affecting funding of many such art programs in New York City, René devised what he believed to be a rational plan to assist in gaining funding. The artist's proposal entailed teaching students to create simple yet attractive biomorphic constructions using discarded styrofoam and other cheap materials, then organizing fund- raising drives at which the creations could be auctioned to supporters in what a local newspaper referred to as a "Styrofoam Bailout".
Before the war ended, Vinson directed the last of the great war-bond drives. At the end of the war, he negotiated payment of the British Loan of 1946, the largest loan made by the United States to another country ($3.75 billion), and the lend- lease settlements of economic and military aid given to the allies during the war. In order to encourage private investment in postwar America, he promoted a tax cut in the Revenue Act of 1945. He also supervised the inauguration of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Monetary Fund, both created at the Bretton Woods Conference of 1944, acting as the first chairman of their respective boards.
The tour began that month and finished that November. Knowles collaborated with America's Second Harvest on a campaign for people who fought with famine, holding pre-concert food drives at every stop during the tour asking from fans to bring food. Rehearsals for the tour began in March 2007 and the performances featured music performed by an all-female band called Suga Mama chosen by Beyoncé Knowles and her father Mathew Knowles during auditions held before the release of B'Day. The set list of the concerts included songs from B'Day, Dangerously in Love, ten shortened versions of Destiny's Child's songs as well as "Listen", originally recorded by Knowles for the soundtrack of Dreamgirls (2006).
He wants Marty to know that Farragut gave him the tip. A car drives at Marty and his followers, injuring Piggy. Therese implores Marty to allow Rocky to provide him with protection. Enzo is out campaigning for Marty, telling them that longshoreman work is only less dangerous than lumberjack work. Rocky’s men stop workers from asking Enzo any questions. Marty realizes that Rocky’s men are hindering them from gaining the trust of the workers. He shows Marty the pier beneath which the last clean union candidate’s body was found. Enzo tells Marty that he must separate himself from Rocky by making a public speech in which he denounces Rocky as a gangster.
The song and video feature the Weeknd's personal McLaren P1, which he drives at the end of the video. The music video for the song was directed by frequent collaborator Grant Singer, who directed tWeeknd's previous music videos for "Can't Feel My Face" and "The Hills". It was released through the singer's official Vevo account on September 28, 2016 on YouTube, along with an accompanying poster which Rolling Stone described as "pulp-horror-inspired". The video has been described as the singer's attempt to kill his former/old persona, perhaps signaling he is reinventing himself with this new album, by suffocating himself, clipping his old hairstyle, and crushing his glass-framed platinum records.
In 1974, the Chicago branch of the IWW started up a Metal and Machinery Workers Organizing Committee, which launched failed organizing drives at several small metal shops in the city. The committee persisted, however, and ran an organizing drive at Mid-American Machinery in Virden, Illinois. With a majority of worker at Mid-American signing up as members of the union, management instated a lock-out, lawsuits against the union, and firing of several union members. Despite legal as well as direct action tactics (such as picketing equipment sales auctions and a three-month strike in 1978), the campaign dragged on until 1980, when the National Labor Relations Board forced management to negotiate with the union.
This capability was most frequently used to read MS-DOS disks. The drive was released in the summer of 1987 and quickly became popular with bulletin board system (BBS) operators and other users. Like the 1541 and 1571, the 1581 has an onboard MOS Technology 6502 CPU with its own ROM and RAM, and uses a serial version of the IEEE-488 interface. Inexplicably, the drive's ROM contains commands for parallel use, although no parallel interface was available. Unlike the 1571, which is nearly 100% backward-compatible with the 1541, the 1581 is only compatible with previous Commodore drives at the DOS level and cannot utilize software that performs low-level disk access (as the vast majority of Commodore 64 games do).
The sculpture consists of three serpentine sheets of steel standing 94 feet long and 15 feet high, each comprising two identical conical/elliptical sections, inverted relative to each other overall. The steel plates are 2 inches thick and the piece, as often in Serra's work, adapts itself to its environment. There is an aerial view in Richard Serra sculpture: forty years, Kynaston McShine, Lynne Cooke, Museum of Modern Art, New York 2007, p.308 It is closely related to other outdoor installations such as the double ribbons of Sidewinder (1999), on the lawn adjacent to the curving drives at Leonard Riggio’s home in Bridgehampton, New York,See the adjustable aerial view from Google Earth and the single ribbon following the contour line of “Contour 290” (Glenstone, 2004).
On Monday Night Football, the Bears traveled west to face the 2–6 San Diego Chargers. The two teams last met in 2011 at Soldier Field, the Bears winning 31–20, though their last meeting in San Diego was in 2007, which the Chargers won 14–3, and the last MNF game in San Diego was a Chargers 20–7 victory in 1984; in eleven games, the Bears led the series 6–5. Jeff Joniak wrote that the Bears offense could capitalize on a defense that allowed the most yards after the catch in the NFL. Additionally, offenses often started drives at 32-yard line, ranked 31st in the league, while the Chargers also had the fewest points off turnovers with seven.
Several notable features have been removed in Windows 8; support for playing DVD-Video was removed from Windows Media Player due to the cost of licensing the necessary decoders (especially for devices which do not include optical disc drives at all) and the prevalence of online streaming services. For the same reasons, Windows Media Center is not included by default on Windows 8, but Windows Media Center and DVD playback support can be purchased in the "Pro Pack" (which upgrades the system to Windows 8 Pro) or "Media Center Pack" add- on for Windows 8 Pro. As with prior versions, third-party DVD player software can still be used to enable DVD playback. Backup and Restore, the backup component of Windows, is deprecated.
Farrand commuted cross-country by train for her eastern projects, such as the design and supervision of the Chinese inspired garden at 'The Eyrie' for Abby Aldrich Rockefeller on Mount Desert Island in Seal Harbor, Maine (1926–35). This was the era of the automobile, and in her designs Farrand applied principles learned earlier from Frederick Law Olmsted's drives at the Arnold Arboretum and the Biltmore Estate of George Washington Vanderbilt II. John D. Rockefeller, Jr."Mr. Rockefeller's Roads" by Ann Rockefeller Roberts and many other sources sought out and funded Farrand to design planting plans for subtle carriage roads at Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island, Maine, near her Reef Point home (c.1930). Their use continues at the Park.
In 1937 a new national labor organization was created - the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) and the FAECT affiliated to it almost immediately. Following affiliation there was a re-organization of industrial jurisdiction, with many of the FAECT's members in civil service transferred to the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) CIO. During the late 1930s the federation attempted to expand its membership in the private sector and launched successful organizing drives at a number of major American industrial corporations including Shell (at its Emeryville Research Center), General Electric, RCA and ITT. It also organized affiliate chapters in a number of technical colleges, aiming to introduce students to unionism in the hope they would be more likely to become members after graduating.
As Paul retains some consciousness, he watches helplessly as Mickey's friends proceed to gleefully destroy the family's belongings. Fully aware that Paul will not attempt to fight him, Mickey humiliates him by mounting and stripping the semi-conscious, bloodied Chloé - meanwhile Mickey's friends have proceeded to torture Sabrina and Eric by forcibly vacuum packing them, essentially slowly suffocating them. While the gang are distracted by Sabrina's torture, Paul manages to hide Chloé safely in a closet, and sneaks outside to the motorhome, wherein he drives at high-speed into the side of the house, successfully crashing through the wall and knocking down a few of Mickey's friends on the other side. Managing to ambush Franck (Eddy Leduc) from under the motorhome, Paul brutally smashes his skull with a brick.
Along with an RCAF Commanding Officer, a small RCAF staff, and 1 or 2 paid civilians, a large contingent of unpaid civilian volunteers were employed at the Detachment and its centre, hired through newspaper advertisements and recruiting drives at such places as movie theatres and department stores. Despite the heavy reliance on civilian volunteers, the Detachment and centre were round-the-clock operations, and trained exhaustively how to respond to a Soviet air attack, such as in the military exercise mentioned above. The problem with the Ground Observer Corps and its filter centres is that they largely mirrored the air defences of the Battle of Britain, 1940. They relied heavily on "eyeball" reports of aircraft, a particular conundrum if an air attack was made at night, in bad weather, or dense cloud cover when visibility was severely hampered or nonexistent.
Though she initially dislikes being partnered with Leonard and regards him with little respect, Delphine ends up wanting to protect him. After she and Leonard become eyewitnesses of the Gundams, they are designated by Veda as the second of the primary targets to be eliminated when Grave is assigned to eliminate those aware of Celestial Being's existence; after they are spared, they choose to join Celestial Being in order to find Allelujah, whom they have come to regard as a comrade. In Gundam 00I 2314, Delphine joins the reorganized Fereshte under the code name and participates in the development and retrieval of the GN Drives at Jupiter with Hayana. ; : The front seat pilot of the Tieren Kyitwo sent from the Super Soldier Special Duty Organization to become a test pilot, despite only being seven years old and lacking any apparent ability as a supersoldier save a susceptibility to the emission of quantum brainwaves from other supersoldiers.
At their Garden of Eden music festival in September 2006, the band debuted another side project dubbed The Tells. Consisting of all five members of Strangefolk, The Tells played a late-night two-hour set of music consisting entirely of Led Zeppelin cover songs. The band repeated this performance again in October 2006, opening for themselves under the moniker The Tells at a concert in Burlington, VT. In September 2007 The Tells performed a Jack White themed late night set at the StrangeCreek Festival in Greenfield, MA, covering songs by The White Stripes and The Raconteurs. In 1997, fans of Strangefolk started a small charitable organization called Strangers Helping Strangers, collecting non-perishable food items at several of the band's concerts throughout New England. Since then, the organization (also referred to as SHS) has expanded to work with hundreds of other bands throughout the US. In 2011, SHS ran food drives at 368 events.
But such a device would be pulled off the market due to FCC concerns over a lack of radiation shielding from the CRT. As a notable example, but without a built-in TV tuner, The first model of the well-known Macintosh line of computers had a built-in monitor. In the mid-1980s, Sharp introduced the C1 NES TV which was capable of playing NES and Famicom games and the first one to also have a TV tuner. Years later, in the mid-1990s, Apple Computer introduced the Macintosh TV (not to be confused with the current-day Apple TV set-top box) which was capable of capturing still images of TV broadcasts to the hard drive since hard drives at the time were not big enough for practical DVR use even though experimental use of hard drives for video capture only captured less than a minute of video back in the 1960s.
As hard disk drives at the time of the Tandy 1000's introduction were very expensive, Tandy 1000 systems were not usually equipped with hard drives. However, it was possible to add a hard drive to most Tandy 1000 computers. Most of the desktop-type Tandy 1000 units could accept regular 8-bit ISA bus MFM, RLL and SCSI controllers like typical XT-class machines; however, care had to be taken when configuring the cards so that they did not cause conflicts with the on-board Tandy-designed peripherals. For most Tandy 1000 models (other than the compact EX and HX) that did not come already equipped with a hard drive, Tandy offered hard disk options in the form of hardcards that were installed in one of the computer's expansion slots and consisted of a controller and drive (typically a 3.5-inch MFM or RLL unit with a Western Digital controller) mounted together on a metal bracket.
The Lennoxlove toilet service in silver-gilt; its travelling chest on the other side of the caseMOS German travelling toilet service, 1695 Earlier examples of the component pieces existed, as is clear from documentary records and stray surviving pieces, but the toilet service as a large matching set of pieces seems to become common among the rich in the 17th century, and especially the France of Louis XIV. Sets of ewers and basins such as the Lomellini Ewer and Basin were a staple of display plate well before this, but the many paintings of the Toilet of Venus, for example by Rubens, show that until about 1650 even goddesses used mirrors with wooden frames. Although many were made, very few Louis XIV toilet services survive, and these are all ones that left France quickly, and escaped the very effective drives at the end of Louis's reign to get the nobility to donate their plate to help pay for the ruinous Nine Years' War and War of the Spanish Succession. Exiled Huguenot silversmiths helped to spread French styles in England and elsewhere.
In 2015, one of Seagate's wireless storage devices was found to have an undocumented hardcoded password. On January 21, 2014, numerous tech articles around the globe published findings from the cloud storage provider Backblaze that Seagate hard disks are least reliable among prominent hard disk manufacturers. However, the Backblaze tests have been criticized for having a flawed methodology that has inconsistent environment variables, such as ambient temperatures and vibration, and disk usage; in addition, Backblaze's statistics show that the vast majority of installed drives at Backblaze are Seagate, and Backblaze editor Andy Klein has noted "that a large number of new Seagate drives being deployed could be statistically responsible" for failure rate data in their specific datacenter population. In the broader landscape, Seagate enterprise drives have been named most reliable for seven years running in the well-respected IT Brand Pulse survey of top IT professionals, and have been cited as leader the last two years running in every measured category: reliability, performance, innovation, price, and service and support.
The 1541 does not have DIP switches to change the device number. If a user added more than one drive to a system the user had to open the case and cut a trace in the circuit board to permanently change the drive's device number, or hand-wire an external switch to allow it to be changed externally. It was also possible to change the drive number via a software command, which was temporary and would be erased as soon as the drive was powered off. 1541 drives at power up always default to device #8. If multiple drives in a chain are used, then the startup procedure is to power on the first drive in the chain, alter its device number via a software command to the highest number in the chain (if three drives were used, then the first drive in the chain would be set to device #10), then power on the next drive, alter its device number to the next lowest, and repeat the procedure until the final drive at the end of the chain was powered on and left as device #8.
