Karloff starred in Targets (1968), a film directed by Peter Bogdanovich, featuring two separate stories that converge into one. In one, a disturbed young man kills his family, then embarks on a killing spree. In the other, a famous horror-film actor contemplates then confirms his retirement, agreeing to one last appearance at a drive-in cinema. Karloff starred as the retired horror film actor, Byron Orlok, a thinly disguised version of himself; Orlok was facing an end of life crisis, which he resolved through a confrontation with the gunman at the drive-in cinema.

The Screaming Skull was released in August 1958. It was never copyrighted, despite the presence of an onscreen copyright notice belonging to Madera Productions. As a result, it has seen many public domain DVD releases by video companies, such as Alpha Video, Echo Bridge Home Entertainment, and Mill Creek Entertainment. Erick Harper of DVD Verdict remarked that the film was "of questionable value" and opined it was a "truly awful example of drive- in cinema".

The Njookenbooroo School on Odin Road (then called Government Road), linked to the city by a plank road, was built in 1915. Although subdivision for southern Innaloo was approved in 1916, by the 1920s only ten houses had been built, with the majority of the land used for grazing. Residential development accelerated during World War II, and in the 1950s, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) built a drive-in cinema in nearby Liege Street.

However, the long cold Canadian winters discouraged the widespread diffusion of this type of film exhibition. Elwick had already developed into a popular venue by the 1880s. Until the early 1980s there was a drive-in cinema located within the track. The declining popularity of this form of entertainment led to its removal, although nostalgists have called for its return, although this seems unlikely for commercial reasons.

The Oasis food court at Meadowhall Centre Sheffield has six cinema complexes, four of which are in the city centre and a further two in the Lower Don Valley. In 2020 a drive-in cinema opened at the Don Valley Bowl. One of these cinema complexes is located at Valley Centertainment, a leisure and entertainment complex in the Don Valley. It was built on land previously occupied by steel mills near what is now Meadowhall and the Sheffield Arena.

JTC was established on 1 June 1968 to oversee the development of Singapore's first industrial estate, and launch Singapore's industrialisation drive. Initially known as the Jurong Town Corporation, bulk of the agency's mission then was focused on the development of the Jurong Industrial Estate. To do so, JTC developed Jurong holistically, to encourage Singaporeans to move in, work and raise their families there. A large Town Centre was built, complete with shops and facilities, and a drive-in cinema.

In the 1990s the State Government commenced resumptions of privately owned land in the area for a special use and open space corridor. In 1965, Cathay Organisation established Singapore's first public bowling centre, Jackie's Bowl. Cathay Organisation, then a major shareholder of Jackie's Bowl, diversified into the bowling arena by acquiring the remaining shares in Jackie's Bowl and operating it under the name of Orchard Bowl. The company was subsequently renamed Cathay Bowl Pte Ltd in 1995. Cathay's Jurong Drive-In Cinema opened on 14 July 1971 and was, at that time, the first of its kind in Singapore and Malaysia, and the largest in Asia.

When Bernie knows Ann's feelings for sure, he persuades her to work on the streets a prostitute.

The original music video features some footage from the World Violation Tour, while Dave Gahan and a girl he's with watch it from a drive-in cinema. The alternate version on Strange Too features the band in the car instead, more live footage, and the silent ending with Gahan is longer.

Film Festival Kitzbuehel was founded in 2012 by Michael Reisch, Kathryn Perotti, Nina Hipfl- Reisch, Mike Mayr-Reisch, Josef Obermoser and Roman Benedetto. Since its first edition in 2013, the festival has attracted increasing numbers of international guests and participants. Its location, the alpine town of Kitzbuehel, was previously mainly known for winter sports. The festival week features highlights such as the "Drive-In Cinema" showing cinema classics, as well as a screening at the highest cinema in Europe (at 1.670 m), on Kitzbuehler Horn.

The 'Huguenot city' of Neu-Isenburg is a town in Germany, located in the Offenbach district of Hesse. It is part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area and has a population of 35,472 (2007). The town is known nowadays mainly for its regionally used shopping centre, the Isenburg-Zentrum (IZ), the Hugenottenhalle, the Hotel Kempinski Frankfurt, the Autokino Gravenbruch (the oldest drive-in cinema in Europe), the Sportpark, the Waldschwimmbad (swimming pool) and not least of all its central location near Frankfurt Airport.

66 Motel, an independently owned six-room motel established 1946–47 in Needles, formerly served travellers on U.S. Route 66 in California. Bypassed c. 1970 by Interstate 40, the motel has been used as single room occupancy apartments since the 1990s. The tiny independent motel is one of numerous U.S. Route 66 businesses which had taken the name of the now-historic highway in its heyday; there is also a 66 Drive-In cinema in Carthage, Missouri and a Route 66 Motel in Kingman, Arizona.

Con Constantine migrated to Australia with his parents and siblings from the town of Maroni, near Larnaka, Cyprus at the age of 10. At a young age, he started working in a takeaway food store before going on to sell houseplants. In 1985, he built Parklea Markets (on the site of a former drive-in cinema), initially operating it as a plant nursery while seeking council approval. After approval was granted, Parklea Markets quickly established itself as one of the premier retail destinations in Western Sydney.

In addition to regular cinema screenings the festival held a drive in cinema in neighbouring town Kópavogur and a hot tub cinema where audiences got the chance of chatting with short film directors after the screenings of their film. A special focus was on Italian filmmaking this year. Smetto quando voglio by director Sidney Sibilia won the Golden Puffin and Bota by Iris Elezi and Thomas Logoreci won both the Audience and FIBRESCI awards. Mike Leigh was given a Lifetime Achievement Award and his latest movie Mr. Turner was screened to a full audience.

The town’s facilities include a post office, supermarket, milk- bar, pub, a public swimming pool, sports fields, police station, petrol station, primary school, tavern bistro, gym and a free drive-in cinema with takeaway facility, free movies show on Friday and Sunday nights. Police officers based at Pannawonica supervise an area of approximately 33,800 square kilometres. The annual Pannawonica Robe River Rodeo, in September, attracts an average of 1500 people from all over Australia. Funds raised are distributed to many organisations including the Royal Flying Doctor Service, local school and other volunteer-based groups.

A 1949 drive-in cinema entertained viewers before the 1953 arrival of local TV stations to Joplin-Springfield Near Carthage, US 66 wound through various county roads and the city streets of Carterville and Webb City. In Carthage, a small segment of US 66 once ran concurrently with US 71 on what is now Route 571\. I-44 enters from the southwest at Halltown, somewhere away from US 66\. The reason for this was the already completed Will Rogers Turnpike in Oklahoma, which that state wished to become part of US 96 (also known as Old Route 66).

Currently, the local zone high school is Woodville High School, in Woodville. However, a large number of the families in the area choose to send their children to other schools, mainly in the city centre, which was one of the causes of the closure of the Parks High School. St Patrick's Primary School A drive-in cinema between Short Street and Grand Junction Road was closed in the 1980s, and replaced with a retirement village. There was also a Salvation Army church on Trafford Street, which has closed and was bought by an outlawed motorcycle club (Hells Angels), and subsequently fortified.

Hubie is tricked into going in to a corn maze following reports that a kid is lost. Hubie's teenage co-worker Mike (Karan Brar) follows hoping to scare Hubie. Hubie finds Mike and sees him getting pulled into the maze, then nowhere to be found. Hubie moves his attention to monitoring at a drive-in cinema. Hubie’s old classmates Lester and Mary Hennessey (Tim Meadows and Maya Rudolph) scare Hubie after false reports of a suspicious activity in one of the cars at the drive-in (who turned out to be trick-or-treaters driven by Mr. Hennesy to throw eggs at Hubie).

The party continues by lantern- light, and eventually reconvenes to an empty drive-in cinema, where the last portion of Hannaford's film is screened. Having realized at the party that Otterlake is not going to financially support Hannaford's new film, the two have a mournful last exchange in the drive-in theatre, realising that their friendship is at an end. Intrusive journalist Juliette Rich has asked Hannaford the most explicit questions of all about his sexuality. At this moment, Hannaford slaps Rich in drunken outrage, while a drunken Billy Boyle mounts an impassioned defense of the director.

Suzie (voiced by Susan Fitzer) was a gingerbread girl and Gingy's girlfriend that appears briefly in Gingy's flashbacks in the third film and also in Gingy's flashback story in Shrek the Halls. In Shrek the Third, she has been seen kissing with Gingy in a car at a drive-in cinema. In Shrek the Halls in Gingy's Christmas story, he recounts a Christmas winter night he spent with her. The two were in a car made of bread and candies parked on a table, which made them seem like cookies left out for Santa Claus, who later tries to eat them.

The Yulos acquired the estate in 1948 and improved its financial and social status within two years through progressive reforms. His wife, Doña Cecilia Araneta Yulo of Iloilo, was instrumental in the construction of a school (now Rizal Institute), the church of St. Joseph, civic and recreational centers, and the first outdoor drive-in cinema. Sports facilities such as a baseball field, swimming pools, tennis courts, bowling lanes, and a golf course were also built. The company was also expanded into a pulp facility known as Canlubang Pulp which purchased more than 80% of the total abaca produced in the country.

Lucas and producer Gary Kurtz took the script to American International Pictures, who expressed interest, but ultimately believed American Graffiti was not violent or sexual enough for the studio's standards.Baxter, pp. 120–123 Lucas and Kurtz eventually found favor at Universal Pictures, who allowed Lucas total artistic control and the right of final cut privilege on the condition that he make American Graffiti on a strict low budget. This forced Lucas to drop the opening scene in which the Blonde Angel, Curt's image of the perfect woman, drives through an empty drive-in cinema in her Ford Thunderbird, her transparency revealing she does not exist.

Bass Hill Drive-In Cinema The first American-style drive-in theatre to open in Australia was the Skyline in the Melbourne suburb of Burwood on 18 February 1954. It was the first of 330 drive-in theatres that would open across Australia. Many have since closed with the large amounts of land taken up by drive-ins being sold off to build houses or shopping centres, although in recent years a number of drive-in theatres have reopened or expanded the number of screens available. In the 1990s, the Coburg Drive-in Theatre in Melbourne was expanded to three screens, as was the Dromana Drive-in Theatre.

As their emotions run high, Bill tells Jo that he's still in love with her, unaware that Melissa is hearing the conversation over CB radio. That night, the team stays in a hotel next to a drive-in cinema which is showing The Shining. Jo decides to fill out the remaining divorce papers, but is interrupted when an F4 tornado forms nearby, forcing her team as well as townspeople caught in the storm to take shelter. During the twister, Preacher is injured when his head is hit by flying debris. The theater, a repair shop, and much of the team’s equipment are heavily damaged, including Preacher's station wagon and Rabbit and Sanders' truck.

A recording of this concert was issued in 1986 on flexi disc by Time Based Arts in Amsterdam. For performances of the Car Ensemble in Amsterdam on June 13 and 14, 1986, in the framework of the Romantic Aesthetics Festival, a drive-in cinema was set up whereby the Car Ensemble made use of a local radio station to broadcast additional sounds, conversations and instructions to the audience in their cars. The British cinematographers Richard Heslop and Daniel Landin for that occasion were invited to direct a film, Procar in cooperation with Herbert Verhey and to be used for back-drop projection. The remastered audio recording of the event later on became the soundtrack of the film.

In 2012, the first five rooms in a Boots Court Motel historic restoration in Carthage re-opened to travellers. Not yet listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 1939 streamline moderne Boots Court originally touted "a radio in every room" long before the 1949 opening of the 66 Drive-In cinema and the 1953 sign-on of the first local Joplin-Springfield television stations. Fate has been less kind to other Route 66 lodgings. The streamline moderne Coral Court Motel in Marlborough (an inner St. Louis suburb) was demolished in 1995, its 8.5 acre site sold for over a million dollars for suburban residential development, while John's Modern Cabins in Newburg, abandoned since the 1970s, have been allowed to slowly deteriorate beyond repair.

Armando's ambitious works program also included plans for a new stadium, for which the Argentine Congress passed a bill in 1965 donating a waterfront lot south of the Costanera Sur (the abandoned former municipal beach along the Río de la Plata in what today is the tony Puerto Madero ward). He lobbied successfully for the concession by presenting plans for a new, 140,000 seat stadium, as well as other improvements, notably a sports complex. Construction began on the mammoth Ciudad Deportiva project, and a recreational area consisting of a network of round islands connected by bridges was completed. Ultimately, however, the stadium was never built, and much of the land earmarked for the sports complex was leased to private installations, notably a restaurant and a drive-in cinema.

In March 2001, the stadium hosted Caledonia Reds in their game against Edinburgh Reivers The stadium first appeared as a concert venue when it successfully hosted Elton John in 2007 and its reputation was bolstered further when Rod Stewart entertained 19,400 fans there in 2010, then again in 2016, the second time entertaining 15,000 fans. Tom Jones was due to be performing a concert in his 80th Birthday Tour on 27 June 2020, and Westlife were due to be performing in the stadium on the following day for their "Stadiums in the Summer Tour", however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both the tours were cancelled with no expected reschedule date. During the pandemic, the stadium was used as a drive-in cinema, showing Toy Story, Grease, Joker, and Braveheart, between the 7th and 10th of August.

Other scenes were shot in Reseda (where the drive-in cinema scenes were filmed in the same location as the climax of Bogdanovich's Targets), Culver City (where the skyscrapers form the backdrop of some of Hannaford's film), Connecticut, France (at Welles' house in Orvilliers), the Netherlands, England, Spain, Belgium, and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer back-lot in Hollywood. The scenes shot on the M.G.M. back-lot, viewed in Hannaford's film- within-a-film, were photographed without M.G.M.'s permission. Welles was smuggled onto the back-lot in a darkened van, while the rest of the cast and crew pretended to be a group of film students visiting the studio. The crew was not confident that they would ever be able to access the back-lot again, and so filmed everything over one long, amphetamine-fuelled week-end in 1970, without sleep.
