The eruption also inspired a generation of Mexican artists to depict or allude to it in their works, including Dr Atl, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Alfredo Zalce and Pablo O'Higgins. The eruptions ended in 1952, leaving a final scoria cone with a height of 424 meters from the valley floor.
His form and performances drew attention from Roma, who promptly signed him in 1994. During his time with Napoli, he would occasionally put on the socks of the Uruguay national team, which is a shade lighter in colour than Napoli's socks, saying that they would bring him good luck. However, his three seasons (from 1994 to 1997) were far from successful. Fonseca usually played as a second striker, supporting the Argentine centre forward Abel Balbo, but, because of the many injuries he suffered, he played discontinuously. Juventus signed Fonseca in 1997, but he was once again played out of position on the left wing, as he had been at Cagliari and Roma.
Several factors contributed to its subsequent revival: the language drew attention from scholars of the emerging science of comparative linguistics; after the abolition of serfdom in the Russian Empire in 1861, social mobility increased, and Lithuanian intellectuals arose from the ranks of the rural populace; and language became associated with identity in Lithuania, as elsewhere across Europe. The Lithuanian language and nation through the ages: Outline of a history of Lithuanian in its social context William R. Schmalstieg, Lituanus, 1989. Within the Catholic Church, the barriers that had earlier prevented commoners from entering the priesthood were eased. A closer relationship developed between the educated clergy, who were increasingly of ethnic Lithuanian stock, and their parishioners, including empathy for their wish to use the Lithuanian language.
The success of the march drew attention from across the world and brought Indigenous issues to the forefront of the national consciousness. Today the march is still remembered as a day of hope and empowerment and its success still brings pride to the Aboriginal people and communities who participated. Ultimately, this march was an important protest and statement of survival for Aboriginal Australians. It was a demonstration or expression of Black identity and solidarity, and highlighted the plight of Aboriginal Australians in contemporary Australian society, especially the startling contrast between the third-world living conditions faced by many Aboriginal Australians and the lavish amounts of money (200 million ) spent by the Federal Government on the enormous pomp and ceremony celebrating the British invasion of Australia.
It included hits such as "Decile que lo quiero: Estoy saliendo con un chabón" ("Tell him I love him: I'm dating a dude") and "El Chupete (¡Agente, agente!)" ("The Pacifier (Officer, officer!)") which drew attention from young and old alike, making the album triple platinum in Argentina; it has sold more than 30,000 copies. They toured Chile (where the album went gold), Uruguay (platinum album), Brazil (where they were invited by the singer Xuxa), Mexico (participating in the festival "Millennium" in Acapulco) and Spain. In 1999 they released the follow-up Son o se Hacen (Are they pretending or not?), which included hits such as "El Tucanazo" and "La Reina de la Zona Roja" ("Queen of the Red Light District").
Brinkley was known for her idyllic designs in her artwork, and her female characters drew attention from readers. In comparison to the staid Gibson Girl stereotype established earlier by Charles Dana Gibson, the Brinkley Girl was feminine, fun-loving and more independent. Syndicated nationally, her drawing The Three Graces helped establish this character as an icon. The piece, displaying three women singing the praises of suffrage, preparedness and Americanism with regards to love of country, was one of the first to link young, attractive women with the concept of suffrage. Uncle Sam's Girl Shower, by Nell Brinkley, 1917, an image using her iconic Brinkley Girl in support of working women who arrived in Washington, D.C. only to find they were denied the ability to rent apartments.
The group drew attention from the West Coast. They consisted of Tom Pena (bass), Sid Templeton (guitar and backing vocals), Jerry Cope (drums), and Oscar Houchins (keys and backing vocals). David Dunham (sax and backing vocals) and lead singer Randy Shaw were the only two original members at the time the group signed with White Whale Records (label mates with the Turtles). The group became centered on record producer/songwriter Gary Zekley. Their self-titled album, The Clique (1969), released by White Whale Records, featured the singles "I'll Hold Out My Hand" and "Sugar on Sunday", which reached No. 45 in the US on December 13, 1969 and No. 22 in the US on October 18, 1969 Billboard Hot 100 chart, respectively.
Intelligence sources later indicated that Dr Georgi Trajkovski, the Yugoslav Consul General in Melbourne, was an UDBA operative and a key player in the Croatian Six set up. The case also drew attention from John Schindler, then at the US Naval War College, who claimed that the 'Croatian Six' was 'a "classic" agent provocateur operation run by the intelligence agency of the then communist regime in Belgrade, known as the UDBA, against exile communities that were against the Yugoslavian federation.' He also claimed that former UDBA officials said that the Croatian Six case was "one of their great successes" in completely discrediting the Croatian Australian community. According to Schindler, Australian Security Intelligence Organisation would have (or at least should have) been aware of UDBA's involvement.

The Upwelling is a band with roots in the New York City, Washington, D.C., and Boston areas that currently resides in Queens. The band was founded by and originally consisted of brothers Ari and Josh Ingber on guitar and drums respectively. Their self-recorded, self-titled EP achieved the rare feat of finding distribution without being released by a label, partly due to its "Recommended" status by the Virgin Megastore—the first time the retail chain awarded such an honor to an unsigned band or an EP. Without an agency or a label, the band won Karma Production's Ireland tour, a Sonic Bid's contest. They also drew attention from their peers: In 2005, Third Eye Blind's Stephan Jenkins heard a copy of the band's 2005 EP and began taking the band on the road.
The Jolly Rogers deployed to the Pacific, but upon arrival there the Navy decided to initially land base its Corsairs. The squadron flew to Guadalcanal on October 26 where it received orders to begin operating out of Ondongo (which means "Place of Death") on the island of New Georgia in the Solomon Islands. They arrived on the 27th, just in time to participate in providing air cover for the Landings at Cape Torokina, near Empress Augusta Bay on Bougainville Island on 1 November; this drew attention from the considerable Japanese presence at their bastion of Rabaul. Blackburn and his Jolly Rogers were assigned the high cover mission for the landings and ran into a wave of Japanese Aichi D3A "Val" dive bombers escorted by Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighters.
During an interview in June 2017, Son-Forget was asked to comment on the controversy surrounding the past use of public funds by Richard Ferrand, then a candidate to preside the REM parliamentary group. After discoursing on the difference between what is legal and what is moral, Son-Forget declared: "I believe we should not have a return to morality, as that would be the beginning of Sharia law." before immediately apologising for "using big words". These comments by Son-Forget, who had just been elected a member of the National Assembly, drew attention from the French press. In September 2018, while travelling funfair personality and entrepreneur Marcel Campion was under controversy for remarks that were considered homophobic, Son-Forget defended Campion on Twitter, arguing his speech was not homophobic.
253–254 Although Sorabji made requests to limit circulation of the tapes and Holliday attempted to comply, leaks occurred and some of the recordings were included in a 55-minute WBAI programme broadcast in December 1969 and an expanded three-hour version produced by WNCN in 1970. The latter programme, which was rebroadcast several times in the 1970s, drew attention from the United States which helped in the dissemination and understanding of Sorabji's music.Roberge (2020), p. 255 Sorabji and Holliday's friendship ended in 1979 due to a perceived rift between them and disagreements over custodianship of Sorabji's legacy.Roberge (2020), pp. 256–257 However, Holliday preserved his collection of Sorabji's letters and other related items, which is one of the largest and most important sources of material on the composer.
Entertainers associated with Barnum: Charles Stratton ("General Tom Thumb") and his bride Lavinia Warren, alongside her sister Minnie and George Washington Morrison Nutt ("Commodore Nutt") Barnum had a year of mixed success with his first variety troupe called "Barnum's Grand Scientific and Musical Theater", followed by the Panic of 1837 and three years of difficult circumstances. He purchased Scudder's American Museum in 1841, located at Broadway and Ann Street, New York City. He improved the attraction, upgrading the building and adding exhibits, then renamed it "Barnum's American Museum"; it became a popular showplace. He added a lighthouse lamp which attracted attention up and down Broadway and flags along the roof's edge that attracted attention in daytime, while giant paintings of animals between the upper windows drew attention from pedestrians.
On August 8, 1903, during a double-header between the Phillies and the Braves, two drunken men walking along 15th street adjacent to the park were being teased by a group of children. One of the men allegedly grabbed by the hair a thirteen-year-old girl named Maggie Barry from the group of children, and after a brief struggle, fell on top of her. Accounts of the incident say that cries for help from the girl and her friends drew attention from spectators in the stadium above, and approximately 300 people crowded the balcony above the street to get a view of the commotion. Under the weight of the curious onlookers, the overloaded balcony's supports apparently became detached from their connections at the wall, and plunged approximately to the street below.
His edgy work, as well as his elusiveness, drew attention from the media and developed a cult-like following, with praise from celebrities including Winona Ryder, Courtney Love, and Bono. The publisher and marketers capitalized on this fascination to provide further opportunities to expose the books. The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things was described in the Publisher's Comments as "The extraordinary stories that brought the author a cult following at the age of sixteen," and "loosely edited autobiographical stories" for the persona of JT LeRoy. Instead of discarding her pseudonym and exposing herself in order to remind the public that LeRoy's story, though published as fiction, was not in fact, a memoir, Laura Albert chose her sister-in-law, Savannah Knoop, a 25-year-old aspiring clothes designer, to embody the pseudonym in public.

The extended periods were first rolled out to first-year honors students in 1989, followed by a parallel program implemented by Christine Del Gaudio and Marty Kongsle for the remaining first-year students in 1992. 1994 marked the start of the annual Battle at Dawn, a re-enactment of the Battle of Neuve Chapelle for first-year students at HHS as part of their studies about World War I. In 1996, HHS proposed implementing a senior exhibition as a graduation requirement to pass fourth-year English classes. Students would have to defend a fifteen-page thesis before a three-member panel for their senior exhibition, which drew attention from parents concerned their children would not pass. The senior exhibition requirement was implemented in 1997, and the review of multiple drafts added a substantial load to teachers' grading burden, including one-on-one assistance and mentoring.

The film was adapted into a musical Organ in My Memory (also known as Organ in My Heart) in 2008, which focused on reviving the romantic atmosphere and literary sensitivity of the 1960s on stage as the film did. "The original novel was published in 1980s and the film was made in 1990s and now the musical rendition will be made in 2000s, showing the tireless energy of the work because of its pure and touching story," a public relations official of the production company Show Tic Communications, said. The musical featured visually catching pink-toned stage sets to exude a romantic atmosphere, along with modern music and choreography played by 21 actors to curry favor with the modern audience. The initial run at Hoam Arts Hall (July 22 to September 11, 2008) also drew attention from the public for the return of musical theater-turned-TV/film actor Oh Man-seok to the stage.
As part of the American Bicentennial celebrations the townspeople of Boxford, Massachusetts, visited the villages of Boxford (there are three) in England during 1975 looking for the source of the name of their own village and decided that Boxford in Suffolk was likely to be where the name of their own town came from. As a result of this the villagers of Boxford, Suffolk, were invited to Boxford, MA, the following summer. This drew attention from the media: the Evening Standard incorporated a photograph of the villagers in a centre-page spread in one of their November 1975 editions, and a TV crew led by Bernard Falk for the BBC Nationwide programme accompanied the villagers when they left for a two-week stay on 23 July 1976. A TWA Boeing 707 was hired which flew the villagers from London Heathrow to Boston Logan, from where they were bussed to Boxford, MA, and dispersed amongst receiving families.
It aimed to promote the concept of independence on campus by setting up student concern groups. By the end of August 2016, 28 localist concern groups were being formed at schools across the city. In an interview with Hong Kong Free Press in 2017, Chung explained why he supported Hong Kong independence: "I was born here, I grew up here. We often see the situation in China – it’s exactly why we do not want the place we live in to become the same as China." He also predicted: “In the next five years the national security law may be enacted, or I may be charged with some offence… I can’t say it is a must for me to stay.” The group drew attention from the then Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying Leung claimed that discussion of separatism in schools was "absolutely not a matter of freedom of speech," and students could be kicked out of school for discussing it.
He drew attention from Football League clubs and on 31 August 2005 signed for Championship club Burnley on a two-year contract for an initial fee of £25,000 with a sell-on clause after having a trial with the club, having opted not to join Wolverhampton Wanderers. He made his first-team debut as a substitute in the 89th minute of a 1–0 victory away to Leicester City on 18 October, which was followed by a stoppage time appearance in a 1–0 defeat away to Aston Villa in the League Cup on 25 October. His first and only start for Burnley came in a 3–2 victory away to Luton Town on 5 November, in which he gave a solid performance. Having struggled to break into the team, Courtney finished 2005–06 with eight appearances, seven coming from the substitutes' bench, and was placed on the transfer list in May 2006.
Daniel McRorie (25 June 1906 – 26 July 1963) was a Scottish footballer who played as an outside right for clubs including Liverpool in the Football League. In 2006, the Centre of Attention curatorial collective organized Fast and Loose: My Dead Gallery, an exhibition at Fieldgate Gallery in London that celebrated defunct alternative art exhibition spaces in London, prominently including Gallery House. The exhibition drew attention from leading art journals, appearing on top-ten-of-the-year lists by then-Tate Modern film curator Stuart Comer in Frieze, and by Whitney Museum curator Chrissie Iles in Artforum, who wrote that these spaces "nurtured an alternative practice that has remained largely invisible due to its ephemerality, yet were enormously important for the development of artists". In 2017, curators Antony Hudek and Alex Sainsbury mounted This Way Out of England: Gallery House in Retrospect at Raven Row, an exhibition in which artists who had shown at Gallery House were invited to reenact or rethink their interventions in the space. Artists who exhibited at Gallery House included Stuart Brisley, Marc Camille Chaimowicz, British experimental film collective Filmaktion, Avital Geva, Menashe Kadishman, Anthony McCall, David Medalla, Gustav Metzger, Robert Morris, Joshua Neustein, Hermann Nitsch, and Carolee Schneeman.
They also investigated dance-club culture (in particular Sandbothe, who took lessons from Asian Underground figurehead Talvin Singh and frequently attended the Anokha Club). The band's next EP (1997's Arkoona Voula: Troozo) reflected many of these influences, while remaining true to the established Podsdarapomuk sound. While in London, Podsdarapomuk drew attention from the body of music fans surrounding the cult British band Cardiacs, and played regularly with bands such as Billy Mahonie, The Pets, The Shrubbies and The Monsoon Bassoon.Photo of Dublin Castle promotional poster for concert by Monsoon Bassoon/Pets/Podsdarapomuk, May 2, 1997 However, the band remained unable to move beyond being a cult act playing small venues and in terms of press coverage were predominantly written about by small-press magazines and fanzines specializing in diverse rock music (such as Expose, Organ Audion, Tarkus and Misfit City). In the late 420s the newly appointed patriarch of Constantinople, Nestorius, and a presbyter named Anasthasius (both from Antioch) had been preaching on the Greek word theotókos (“mother of God”) as it is used referring to Mary, mother of Jesus; they were imploring the people that Mary should not be worshiped or referred to as such. Instead, they explained that she should be called christotókos (“mother of Christ”): a symptom of his larger belief that Christ was born a man, and God was dwelling inside or upon him. This quickly drew attention from church officials who disapproved of such a change in terminology regarding Mary, as well as the Christian public. During one sermon by Nestorius on this topic in AD 428 or 429, Eusebius publicly proclaimed that “the eternal Word had submitted to be born a second time,” getting his fellow listeners at the sermon to drown out Nestorius with sympathetic applause. Soon afterwards, a letter was posted in Constantinople that correlated Nestorius’ teachings with that of Paul of Samosata, an heretical figure from the previous century that had also denied or otherwise challenged the divine nature in Christ.
