Rongel Point and Las Palmas Cove are also named after modern Antarctic ships. A concentration of place names (probably the highest in Antarctica) arising from local topographic diversity – over fifty names, mostly Chilean, occurs on the small ice-free headland forming the northern extremity of Ioannes Paulus II Peninsula and ending in Cape Shirreff.
