Simmonds comes back alone, with the sister having taken a taxi to her new apartment, and finds Ross begging for help, as he believes Kenny to be dead. After inspecting, he agrees, and the two begin distraughtly thinking of suggestions for a justified murder. As they do, Kenny crawls out, severely beaten but barely stable. Ross and Simmonds are alerted to his presence when he lights a cigarette.

Although they declare their love for each other, he tells her that he has not received any note. Lida tries to persuade him to abandon his suicidal quest while he distraughtly recounts his dismay at finding her married. Finally, Lida says that they must separate for the sake of her husband and child. Then Rolando is heard at the door and, before he enters, Lida hides on the balcony.

Oenone urges her mistress that, since her love for her stepson is now legitimate, she should form an alliance with him, if only for the future benefit of the infant son of her own flesh. Act 2. With fresh hope for her liberty, Aricia reveals to her maidservant Ismène her feelings towards Hippolytus, who promptly appears to declare his love for her. Their discourse is interrupted by Phèdre, who distraughtly pleads for the rights of her infant son, explaining her coldness and personal despair.

She is guided by an Irish warlock called Roden, who serves Twilight. With Roden, she hunts and kills other Slayers as part of his "training" of her. However, she and Faith find they share a lot in common; both as Slayers and as troubled young women enticed by evil, despite their drastically different backgrounds (upper class British and working class South Boston). Discovering Faith's treachery and tenuous affiliation with Buffy, she distraughtly fights Faith to the death, and is accidentally killed by an axe.

Clara Topper (Billie Burke) is out front with her maid and waves to the approaching car. She is surprised to see her husband drive past with a young blonde sitting on his lap, and distraughtly concludes he is having an adventure. The girls are dropped off at the stately cliff top mansion next door to Topper’s residence, where they are received by three creepy staff members, butler Rama (Trevor Bardette), housekeeper Lillian (Rafaela Ottiano), and another unnamed staff member (William H. O’Brien). Ann is directed to the study to see her father by the housekeeper but her friend Gail is to stay behind.

The entire crowd then begins to scream in horror and panic as people realize that the abrupt, shocking finale was in fact, authentic and actually not part of the play at all. Pandemonium breaks out, and fueled by adrenaline, people then proceed to subsequently run towards the exit, in addition to even go as far as to trample at least a couple unfortunate patrons in the audience in an attempt to try to save themselves while evacuating. The two girls' grief-stricken parents watch helplessly with tears in their eyes while distraughtly yelling their daughters' names. With one final look at what has just happened, they have no choice but to join the others as smoke starts to fill up the room.
