Since then, Luca has acted in theater plays, improv comedy performances, and a series of films including "Freaky Deaky" (alongside Christian Slater), "Windsor Drive" (costarring Samaire Armstrong), and "Sacred Blood" (with Bai Ling and Michael Madsen). In 2017, Luca has extended their talents, adding directing to their ever-growing repertoire. Their directorial debut "G-4" is a short film that presents incredible special effects make up, as well as dance performances choreographed by famed choreographer Brian Friedman (So You Think You Can Dance, producer/creative director of America’s Got Talent, and The X Factor).

Castledine claimed to have been well-versed with Greek and Roman mythology and literature at the age of 5. A bright student, she considered her early career prospects to be firmly established by her gender and class – in press interviews she recalled making the choice to work as a teacher, having been presented with a choice between becoming a teacher or becoming a nurse. Castledine attributed some of her early interest in theatre directing to the influence of Honor Mathews, who had been the head of drama at Goldsmiths College, London, during her own training.

His last major work as a director came in 1937 when he and Harry L. Argento subsequently took a break from directing to write two screenplays for Mario Bava's son, Lamberto Bava: Dèmoni (1985) and Dèmoni 2 (1986). Argento's father died during its production, Vanessa Redgrave quit the project before filming began, he had problems working with his former long-time girlfriend and collaborator Daria Nicolodi on-set and the cast and crew were plagued by several minor accidents and mishaps.

When Karthi returned to Chennai, he met director Mani Ratnam and got a chance to work as an assistant director for the film Ayitha Ezhuthu because he wanted to become a film director and preferred directing to acting, though he did appear as an extra in Aaytha Ezhuthu. He continued to receive acting offers and his father convinced him to take up acting, telling him " ... one can always direct films, but one will not get a chance to act once you grow older". Williamson co- founded the San Diego Compassion Project in 2008, after the death of 15-year- old Michael Taylor Jr., 24-year-old Francisco Javier Nava, and 17-year-old Monique Palmer to gang-related violence. The San Diego Compassion Project reaches out to help support families on San Diego residents who lost loved ones to gang or gun violence by directing to them to grief counselling, groceries and other resources. The San Diego Compassion Project has partnered with the Jackie Robinson YMCA in Lincoln Park, San Diego, the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation, and the San Diego Commission for Gang Intervention and Prevention. In October 2013, Williamson was one of three California activists to receive a California Peace Prize from the California Wellness Foundation.

From the 1970s to the early 1990s Orko was still the majority stockholder in the company (with the rest of the stocks being held by the rest of his family).Uusitalo 1994, p. 346 After his appointment Orko had to work hard and fast to re-invigorate the finances of Suomi- Filmi.Uusitalo, Nylander, Orko, p. 30-33 During the 1930s and the early half of the 1940s Orko directed 13 films – a stark contrast with his later career, when he only directed three.

Stephen Holden of the New York Times wrote in his positive review that "Michael Kang's small, perfectly observed portrait of a Chinese-American boy captures the glum desperation of inhabiting the biological limbo of early adolescence." Joey Leydon at Variety magazine said of the film, "Indie coming-of-age dramedy about a precocious Chinese-American youth whose family operates a sleazy roadside motel signals arrival of a singularly promising filmmaker." and ended with comparing Kang's directing to acclaimed Indie directors François Truffaut and Frank Whaley saying "Writer- director Michael Kang covers familiar territory mined memorably by auteurs ranging from Francois Truffaut to Frank Whaley.

In 1995, Mamoru Oshii released his landmark animated cyberpunk film, Ghost in the Shell, in Japan, the United States, and Europe. It hit the top of the US Billboard video charts in 1996, the first anime video ever to do so. Concerning a female cyborg desperate to find the meaning of her existence, the film was a critical success and is widely regarded to be a masterpiece and anime classic. Additionally, Oshii said that creating Ghost in the Shell allowed him to "finally get over Lupin" 野田真外編著『前略、押井守様。』フットワーク出版、1998年 (However, he continued to reuse themes and concepts from the film in later works) After a 5-year hiatus from directing to work on other projects, Oshii returned to live-action with the Japanese-Polish feature Avalon (2001), which was selected for an out of competition screening at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film was based on a script by Dick Lochte who was a former Playboy PR executive. The film was financed by Lew Grade's ITC Entertainment, who had previously made The Eagle Has Landed. That was produced by the team of David Niven Jr and Jack Wiener, and had been successful, so ITC agreed to finance two more films from the same team, Escape to Athena and Green Ice. Grade gave the job of directing to George Costmatos who had just made The Cassandra Crossing for ITC and who Grade felt "would make a great action movie and as "action" was in vogue again I was confident we were on to a winner." In October 1977 ITC announced what was then known as The Athena Boodle as part of a $97 million slate of movies Lew Grade was making which also included The Legend of the Lone Ranger, Movie Movie (then called Double Feature), The Boys from Brazil, Raise the Titanic, The Golden Gate from the Alistair MacLean novel (never made), Love and Bullets, The Muppet Movie and Road to the Fountain of Youth with Bing Crosby and Bob Hope (which was never made).
