In order to become a “EBVS European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia”, veterinarians need to fulfil the following requirements: (1) have worked as a veterinarian in general practice for two years or have completed a rotating internship, which covers different specialities for at least one year, (2) have successfully completed a three year specialised postgraduate training programme in anaesthesia, analgesia and intensive care co-ordinated by an ECVAA Diplomate, (3) have published two peer-reviewed articles in internationally recognised scientific journals and submitted a case log and two case reports and (4) have successfully passed the written and practical/oral parts of the qualifying examinations. Diplomates of the European Colleges have to pass a re-validation process every five years to retain the European Specialist title. Since 2006, candidates achieving a NEBOSH Diploma or Masters-level qualification have been invited to attend an annual graduation ceremony, which was regularly held at the University of Warwick. In June 2018, almost 800 guests attended this event to see Diplomates receive their diplomas, including 100 HSE inspectors. Best Candidate awards are also presented at the annual ceremony to candidates achieving highest marks in the year for all certificate-level qualifications, diploma qualifications and for each separate unit (A, B, C and D) of the NEBOSH National Diploma. The PCP is an affiliate society of the Philippine Medical Association and a member-society of the International Society of Internal Medicine. The College has a total of around 7,000 members composed of fellows, diplomates and affiliate members. Family Medicine Certification (FMC) is the process that provides the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) with the means to continually assess Diplomates. The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) determined that ABMS specialists within every discipline should be required to meet the highest standards of accountability. In response, the ABMS designed a process called Maintenance of Certification, and each specialty board within the ABMS has agreed to adhere to a set structure in developing their own individual programs. The ABEM examination is the only United States exam certifying physicians in EDX medicine, with more than 3,500 physicians currently certified. The ABEM certification process requires physicians to obtain specific academic training and clinical experience, then demonstrate competency in the EDX evaluation of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems by passing an examination. ADSA Membership is open to all dental professionals who have an interest in sedation and anesthesia. From its inception, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Dentist Anesthesiologists were encouraged to attain Fellowship status to recognize their high level of training. Since 2001, Diplomates of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Anesthesiology have been allowed to obtain ADSA Fellowship without a second examination process. The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology established the College of Sedation in Dentistry in 2001 for General Dentists to attain either Member (Enteral) or Master (Parenteral) status in the College.

In 1972 Dinnes founded Dinnes Memorial Veterinary Hospital of Santa Clarita, California and was the first veterinarian to completely devote veterinary practice to non-domesticated animals, limiting his practice to zoo and aquatic animal medicine and surgery. Dinnes was a consulting veterinarian for the 1983 adventure film The Golden Seal. To become board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, candidates must have completed an AOA-approved residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation and either one year of practice as a licensed physiatrist or one year of a physical medicine and rehabilitation fellowship following the completion of residency. Additionally, candidates must have successfully completed the required oral and written examinations. Since 2004, board certified osteopathic physiatrists must renew their certification every ten years to avoid expiration of their board certified status. Diplomates of the AOBPMR may also receive Certification of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and sports medicine after receiving additional training.

Candidates who passed the ABSM exam in 1978–2006 retain lifetime certification as Diplomates of that organization. The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), and the corresponding boards of Internal Medicine, of Pediatrics, and of Otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat, ENT) now administer collectively the Sleep Medicine Certification exam for their members. Each board supervises the required 12 months of formal training for its candidates, while the exam is administered to all of them at the same time in the same place. For the first five years, 2007–2011, during "grandfathering," there was a "practice pathway" for ABSM certified specialists while additional, coordinated requirements were to be added after 2011.

Family physicians in the United States may hold either a M.D. or a D.O. degree. Physicians who specialize in family medicine must successfully complete an accredited three- or four-year family medicine residency in the United States in addition to their medical degree. They are then eligible to sit for a board certification examination, which is now required by most hospitals and health plans. American Board of Family Medicine requires its Diplomates to maintain certification through an ongoing process of continuing medical education, medical knowledge review, patient care oversight through chart audits, practice-based learning through quality improvement projects and retaking the board certification examination every 7 to 10 years.

Mobutu condemned the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979, and in 1980, his was the first African nation to join the United States in boycotting the Summer Olympics in Moscow. Léon Bernier (6 September 1936, Hull, Quebec (now Gatineau, Quebec) - 11 October 2011, Longueuil) was a Canadian composer, conductor, pianist, arranger, accompanist, and music pedagogue. He composed and arranged music for numerous programs on Canadian radio and television, and also wrote music for a number of theatrical productions in Canada. For CBC Television he served as music director of the programs Les Coqueluches, Allo Boubou, Zoum, and Les Démons du midi, and composed music for the television dramas Edna, Le Vélo devant la porte, Pâques, Le Misanthrope, and Coup de sang among others. In 1962 Bernier founded Les Diplomates du Québec, an award-winning drum and bugle corps which remains active to this day.

The American Board of Family Medicine has reciprocity agreements with the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Eligibility to sit for the American Board of Family Medicine Certification Examination through reciprocity is available only to physicians who have satisfactorily completed formal Family Medicine or General Practitioner training accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting organization within Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.

In Australia the Master of Health Administration may be divided in two parts; the first part awards a graduate diploma of Health Service Management, and, depending on the outcome, diplomates may be permitted to continue to the second part which culminates in the Master of Healthcare Administration degree. Course structures, and be either research or coursework based. The Master of Health Administration is considered the benchmark qualification by the Australasian College of Health Services Management and the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. Unlike elsewhere, the Master of Healthcare Administration is not intended primarily for medical practitioners (who have courses provided by their professional organisations) but is open to graduates of any discipline wishing to pursue a career in health administration.

The first three organizational meetings were held in Rome, another in 1922 and by 1923, first federal assembly of the ' (Federation of Italian Women Graduates and Diplomates) was held and bylaws adopted. The group was an affiliate of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Donne Italiane (National Council of Italian Women) and worked both to promote women's professionalism and to open educational and employment opportunities to women. In 1923, Ancona was elected to the post of vice president on the international board and was the only Italian woman to have held such a high post in the IWSA. Her influence and regular correspondence on the vigorous campaign for enfranchisement in Italy, led to the selection of Rome as host for the 9th IWSA Conference.

Certified sanitary engineers were identified as Diplomates (now also known as Board Certified Environmental Engineers) of the American Academy of Sanitary Engineers, and were listed on a roster with the names of each member and their specialties as recognized by the Board. Other organizations joining as sponsors included the American Institute of Chemical Engineers in 1957 and the Air Pollution Control Association in 1962. In 1966 the name of the Board was changed to the "Environmental Engineering Intersociety Board" (EEIB) and the name of the roster from the "American Academy of Sanitary Engineers" to the "American Academy of Environmental Engineers" (AAEE). A year later, in 1967, the Board of Trustees changed the American Academy of Environmental Engineers from just a roster of certified engineers to an organization with its own rights, bylaws and officers.

The American Board of Surgery (ABS) is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge. Surgeons certified by the ABS, known as diplomates, have completed a minimum of five years of surgical residency training following medical school and successfully completed a written and oral examination process administered by the ABS. The ABS provides board certification in general surgery, vascular surgery, pediatric surgery, surgical critical care, surgery of the hand, hospice and palliative medicine, and complex general surgical oncology. The ABS is composed of a board of directors representing the principal surgical organizations in the U.S. and is one of the 24 member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

The general entry requirement for HND in Production & Operations Management include: National Diploma (ND) in Business Studies /Business Administration, Financial Studies, Banking, Marketing, Catering & Hotel management, Computer Studies, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Estate Management, Textile Technology/ Fashion Design or Printing Technology at a minimum of lower Credit Level plus one (1) year post qualification working experience or at least a pass level with at least 2 years post qualification working experience.

It was probably a coincidence, that Pope Adrian I supported the Eastern Octoechos reform, but it is also evident that Carolingian diplomates present at the synode did not get interest in the communication of the modes by intonations called enechemata for the first time.In a long essay dedicated to the Latin treatises and the knowledge that Latin cantors had about music theory, Michel Huglo (2000) referred to an episode of a Byzantine legacy in Aachen, who celebrated troparia (processional antiphons) for the feast of Epiphany. Oliver Strunk (1960) had already published about this visit, but through Walter Berschin's essays about the Carolingian visits of Byzantine legacies Michel Huglo became convinced that this exchange could already have happened before his self-nomination as an Emperor of both Roman Empires.

Ficquelmont whose wife, countess Dorothea von Tiesenhausen was the heiress of the prominent Tiesenhausen family as well as the granddaughter of Prince Kutuzov became influential on the politics of Emperor Nicholas I, but he also was a cornerstone of Russia's high society.

As it was the practice of the diplomatic corps to employ official titles, to adhere to local precedence and etiquette, and to tender congratulations and condolences to members of the dynasty of the nation to which they were assigned, the almanac included a Calendrier des Diplomates ("Diplomats' Calendar") section, which detailed major national holidays, anniversaries, ceremonies and royal birthdates. Following World War I and the fall of many royal houses, fewer regulatory authorities remained to authenticate the use of titles; however the Almanach de Gotha continued the practice of strict verification of information, requesting certified copies of letters patent, genealogies confirmed by competent authorities, documents, decrees and references for titles claimed. Europe's middle and lower nobility (families whose principal title ranked below that of prince or duke — except mediatized families, listed in a section of their own) were not included in the almanac. Nor were the grandees or ducal families of Portugal and Spain (where titles, being transmissible through both male and female lines, were regularly inherited by descendants of non-patrilineal lineage).
