During the expedition, a number of Ma'nids and other Druze chieftains, including the Alam al-Dins of the Matn and the Sharaf al-Dins of the Gharb defected to Ibrahim Pasha, along with a significant proportion of Qurqumaz's men. The Dins, composed of 12 to 15 undergraduate students, is an entirely self-directed group. Most of their arrangements are written by current or former members of the group. Their repertoire consists primarily of jazz standards from the Great American Songbook, as well as humor songs drawn from various periods and styles. Their repertoire also extends at times to numerous other genres, including folk, rock, calypso, spiritual, and pop.

The second novel, Purity of Blood, has the narrator being tortured by the Inquisition and describes an auto-da-fé. Carme Riera's novella, published in 1994, Dins el Darrer Blau (In the Last Blue) is set during the repression of the chuetas (conversos from Majorca) at the end of the 17th century. In 1998, the Spanish writer Miguel Delibes published the historical novel The Heretic, about the Protestants of Valladolid and their repression by the Inquisition. Samuel Shellabarger's Captain from Castile deals directly with the Spanish Inquisition during the first part of the novel.

The battle began with Jalal ad- Dins left wing attacking the Georgian vanguard and it did not take long for his main forces to be ordered into fight. By that time, Shalva Toreli- Akhaltiskheli and Ivane Toreli-Akhaltsikheli had already sent several messengers to the Georgian commander Ivane Mkhargrdzeli asking him to strike the Khwarezmid rear as the vanguard was able to stabilize the front lines. Despite the crucial advantage of the terrain, relief for the vanguard became critically necessary. Mkhargrdzeli's army had still not replied and his Georgian army's main body remained absolutely stationary.

There has been significant controversy surrounding the relationship of the Chief Rabbis and the conversion process. It was revealed that they held a list of Beth Dins whose conversions it will recognise, and maintained a secret blacklist of rabbis whose conversions they would not recognise. This list caused controversy since there were a number of well regarded Orthodox rabbis on the list, including Avi Weiss and Yehoshua Fass. The list also included some Conservative and Reform conversion programs, which the Chief Rabbis do not accept ideologically, but left many off the list.

Defenders of Amsalem say that there is an ideal in the Haredi world to not be controversial and to follow the group think, and that this has only entered the religious sphere recently. He has also attacked the Israeli Chief Rabbinate, as well as some other Beth Dins around the world, such as the London Beth Din and the Melbourne Beth Din, for retrospectively cancelling conversions. Based on the Halacha, Amsalem argues that there is no basis for doing such a thing, and it is unprecedented in Jewish history. The only way this could happen is because of political considerations.

When the Alam al-Dins returned to Mount Lebanon to fight alongside his Yamani kinsmen in 1711, leadership of the Hauran Druze passed to the Al Hamdan. The clan was headquartered in the village of Najran, situated at the western edge of the Lejah plain, and also controlled five villages in the vicinity. The Al Hamdan's ancestral village of Kafra was destroyed in a snowstorm in the early 18th century, prompting its inhabitants to join the Al Hamdan in Hauran. The Al Hamdan continued to have branches in the Gharb district of Mount Lebanon and in the Galilee.

In 2010, being the last performance of a bad season, the pllar collapsed and it had to be rebuilt just to walk a few steps left, surrounded by the applauses of the audience. The journalist, and member of the group, Ester Bertran released the video Ho portem dins (It is inside us in English), that soon became popular. Marrecs have participated in seven editions of the biannual Tarragona Human Tower Competition. They became #18 in the 17th edition (1998), #7 in the 19th (2002), #13 in the 20th (2004), #11 in the 21st (2006), #12 in the 22nd (2008), #21 in the 24th (2012) and #16 in the 25th (2014).

The LBD are known for having a conversion program that is often called the 'gold standard' although this program is overly stringent according to the Halacha and often causes problems for the converts. The program is supposed to take 2-3 years although at times it does take longer. The Beth Din processes about 35 converts per annum from around the UK, with other Beth Dins (such as Manchester sending their converts to LBD for final approval). The process involves private tutoring from an approved list of teachers, and a six-month period where the candidate is expected to board with an approved family.

In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Stern created Los Sueños as illustrations for the woman's magazine Idilio and its column "El psicoanálisis te ayudará" (Psychoanalysis Will Help You). Readers were encouraged to submit their dreams to be analyzed by the 'experts' as an aid for its readers to dins "self-knowledge and self-aid that would help them succeed in love, family and work". Each week, one dream would be selected, analyzed in depth by the expert, Richard Rest, and then illustrated by Stern through photomontage.

De Dins Square (en: Indoor Square) in Alcoy (Alicante), Valencian Community, was built in the mid-19th century. It is a neoclassical set of trapezoidal ground with arches of half point on lower floors which leads to ten buildings that compose it, built in the space of the cloister of the old convent of San Agustín. Square following the typology of colonnaded main squares that originated in Spain in the 17th century and which were developed by academics in the reuse of spaces of the convents acquisition in the 19th century. The ground floor unit and built in stone, is framed by arches and pilasters in some buildings, while in other trades fall directly to the square.

Duran, a graphic designer and doctor in Pedagogy, is professor of the Department of Didactics of Visual and Plastic Education, at the University of Barcelona. Her doctoral thesis, Els suports narratius dins children's literature (2001), won the extraordinary prize of the Faculty of Pedagogy, and was subsequently published as Albums i altres lectures: anàlisi dels llibres per a infants (2007). Within the Catalan language sphere, she is better known as a writer and critic of illustrated children's literature. She has also been curator and coordinator of many literary or cultural exhibitions for high level state and local entities, and has scripted for public or museum audiovisual media and has received many national and international awards for her literary and pedagogical work.

The first book was published in 1970 and its title was: Los Contes dau Pueg Gerjant (The Tales of Mount Gerjant). At the same time, she did the work of an ethnologist and wrote, in French, Le Tombeau des ancêtres (The Tomb of Our Ancestors) about the customs and beliefs surrounding local religious festivals and cults. In 1968, La Vinha dins l’òrt (The Vine in the Garden) was released: this poem won an award at the Jaufre Rudel competition. Its French version, La Vigne dans le jardin was adapted for the stage by the Radio-Limoges drama company. He raided the home of the Bedouin chief Muhammad ibn al-Hanash in the southern Beqaa Valley in 1568. The following year he was granted the tax farm of the Matn subdistrict of Sidon-Beirut Sanjak. The Ottoman imperial government ordered the governor of Damascus Eyalet to confiscate his rifle stockpiles, along with those of Qurqumaz of the Ma'n dynasty, Mansur of the Assaf dynasty and Qasim of the Shihab dynasty. During the early 17th century, the Sawwafs formed part of the Druze opposition, along with the Alam al-Dins and Arslans, to the powerful Druze chief, tax farmer and Ottoman governor Fakhr al-Din II. During the latter's exile in 1613–1618, they fought against his Ma'nid kinsmen and took refuge with Yusuf Sayfa in the Krak des Chevaliers after Fakhr al-Din's offensive against them in 1619.

In 1948, with the help of his fiancée and shortly thereafter husband, Rossend Llates, who was a musical critic, writer and composer, she created the Ars Nova Academy. For a long time, the number of students who went to their particular address was increasingly difficult to conceive and thought that the best way to offer good education would be to open a music academy. Initially, the Academy began to work in the same private home, but two years later it moved to a new attic in the Rambla de Catalunya, becoming a prestigious training centre. According to what Maria Canals explains in her book Una vida dins la música: "We were very enthusiastic about Ars Nova and my mother and Rossend both stood firm to create a school with equivalent education to the best conservatories," (UVDLM, p. 214-215).
