Ross later shoots Debbie and after she fights for her life in hospital she becomes stable and confesses to Ross that she was the person behind his acid attack.
Charity is extremely paranoid when she returns to the village and manages to patch things up with Megan before Robbie's funeral. Declan later returns and drugs Charity, while holding Megan, Jai, Cain, Debbie, Sam, Zak, Chas and Ashley hostage at the Sharma house. Initially, Dom thinks Vanessa is responsible but she tells him it wasn't her. Dom then thinks it was Betty Eagleton (Paula Tilbrook) and kisses her in the cafe as a means of saying thank you but Harriet is convinced it wasn't her as it isn't in her nature.
But, realising this was his son's chance at happiness, Zak gave Sam some sage advice and then drove him to the station in time to catch the train with Alice. For months the couple lived happily on their chicken farm, keeping the Dingles updated on how they were. One day, Sam returned to the Dingle home, acting strangely. A couple of weeks later, Alice appeared – explaining that Sam had upped and left after she fell pregnant.

The ambitious chef was overwhelmed by such a huge responsibility and grabbed the opportunity with both hands – even though the Dingles tried to take advantage by regularly dropping in for free food. However, Marlon's reign as the culinary king of Emmerdale was cut short when Kathy hired Carlos Diaz (Gary Turner) to work at the diner.
She gives birth to a baby boy and hands him to a social worker, telling them Debbie is the legal guardian until she is released from prison. Knowing that Charity confessed her love for Cain after her imprisonment, Debbie and Chas suspect that Cain is the father, which he denies. He visits Charity in prison and demands to know who the father is, otherwise he will sever all contact but she refuses to divulge the father's identity so Cain walks out. She, however, is unaware that he has an ulterior motive until he ends the relationship when Debbie tells him that she feels baby Sarah should stay with the Dingles while they go travelling.
Although being warned not to, Belle lets the ferret out of his cage and in a panic, chases him through the fields. As she pursues him, she falls down a mine shaft. Daz is forced to leave the house, and when he finds her, dives in to help her out, but discovers that they are trapped, with the risk of freezing or drowning in the water. Daz manages to keep Belle afloat, until they are eventually rescued by the Dingles and the fire brigade.

His picture books, including The Golden Cage (Andersen Press), and The Lazy Giant (Oxford University Press, illustrated by Dee Shulman) and in the USA (Dingles & Co) are written in a classic fairy-tale style and contain a moral. The Golden Cage is illustrated by Ken Brown and is also published in France (By Gallimard) and in Sweden. His best-selling stories about Zot the Dog, published by Puffin Books, are humorous and zany.
Albert is the eldest child of Jedediah (Richard Mayes) and Peg Dingle (Jeanne Hepple). He was married to Delilah and they had two sons, Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Eli (Joe Gilgun) Upon his first appearance on the show, he had been in prison for armed robbery. Albert makes his first appearance in Emmerdale in December 1995 after being released and it is soon clear that he is possibly the most deceitful and cowardly of the Dingles. It is also revealed that Albert has been to prison repeatedly.
Aaron insists she choose between him or Carl. Chas chooses Carl, moves back in with the Dingles but then soon moves back in with Paddy. Angry with Carl, Aaron disconnects the brakes on Carl's car, nearly killing Jimmy King (Nick Miles), his wife Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and their newborn daughter, Angelica King, when they borrow the car. Horrified, Aaron runs Jimmy off the road to warn him and Chas loses her temper with Aaron, telling him that she wants nothing more to do with him.
Delilah sped into Emmerdale in a flash red sports car, wearing a wedding dress and refusing to explain why she was there. In fact, she was so determined not to answer any questions, she gave the Dingles a widescreen TV she'd been given as a wedding present to her uncle Zak so he would let her stay with him and his family. Her bewildered fiancé, Jay, arrived the next day. He was convinced that Del just had cold feet but she couldn't marry Jay.
They then make a formal application for guardianship but Lilith returns and the case against her collapses and she takes the children to Ireland with her. Donna later joins the police force which, draws ire from her in-laws, the Dingles but Marlon supports her. Shane Doyle (Paul McEwan), Donna's colleague on the force, begins bullying her for her gender as well as her in-laws and their criminal records. Everyone Donna knows, including Marlon, likes Shane and enjoys being in his company, leading Donna to doubt her instincts.
Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) decides to get revenge on Gemma for sleeping with Sean and writes about her abortion on a school whiteboard, causing a fight. Dom goes round to the Dingles' cottage and vows that he is not going to rest until Belle is expelled. Dom remains outside The Woolpack when Cameron Murray (Dominic Power) holds several people hostage inside at gunpoint. David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) later emerges, carrying Alicia who has been shot by a stray bullet and goes with Dom in the ambulance to the hospital.
Debbie, Charity and Cain move into Pear Tree Cottage and live together until Charity is found guilty of Chris's murder, so she and Cain move in with the Dingles. When the house becomes over-crowded, she and Cain move in with Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) and Daz Eden (Luke Tittensor). Debbie's behaviour becomes erratic as she shows an interest in glamour and boys, resulting in her capturing Daz's affections. Debbie, however, prefers Andy and local curate, Ethan Blake (Liam O'Brien), who is engaged to Niamh O'Connor (Tracey Moore).
Debbie discovers that Andy is hitting Jo and worries about Sarah's safety, especially after she is suspended from nursery for biting another child. Debbie gives Jo money so she and Sarah can leave but Jo stays and allows Andy to see Sarah again, annoying Debbie. However, this does not last long as Jo leaves Sarah with Debbie and the Dingles as Debbie gets involved in the murder of PC Shane Doyle (Paul McEwan), Jasmine's ex- boyfriend. Jasmine is the real culprit as she attacks Shane when he attacks Debbie and kills him.
Belle acts as ring bearer at her cousin Marlon Dingle's (Mark Charnock) wedding to Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth) and she briefly moves in with Marlon shortly after. Belle's test results show that she is amongst the cleverest 2% of children her age and she wins a place at a private school, but she does not receive a full scholarship. The Dingles worry about how to pay the fees, and have to tell Belle that she is unlikely to go. Rosemary King (Linda Thorson) takes a liking to Belle and offers to pay the fees.
Marlon held his uncle's body in his arms, crying. The official cause of death was drowning; however, an autopsy confirmed that Shadrach would have died from a ruptured liver within the next few hours, if he not passed out in the stream and drowned. Zak was devastated by his brother's death and blamed Marlon by banishing him from the Dingle homestead, locking him out. Angered and hurt at the way he had treated Shadrach over the years, Zak turned violent and got very drunk; Lisa, Cain, Chas and the Dingles helped him through this.
Eli tried looking for her, only to find her at a McFarlane-run nightclub. He tried rescuing her, but Danielle hurt his feelings to make him leave. When Chas Dingle's (Lucy Pargeter) young son, Aaron Livesy (Danny Miller) was being kept as a drugs mule by the McFarlanes, Danielle tipped off the Dingles in order for them to rescue him. That same night, Debbie and Jasmine Thomas (Jenna-Louise Coleman) had uncovered the truth about Shane Doyle and when he attempted to rape Jasmine, she had bludgeoned him to death.
She also helps Eli and their cousin Sam (James Hooton) burn down Pollard's factory. After growing close to Eli, they share a kiss but he tells her that he is not attracted to her and she insists she isn't attracted to him. Soon, Gennie moves in with the Dingles, which upsets her adoptive mother, Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop), who is concerned about Gennie not having a job and her change in character. Chas convinces Brenda that Gennie is working at the vets, and for a short time, she does work there.
Louise lost control of the car and crashed. DCI Grace Barraclough, the lead detective in the hunt for Tom King's killer, was outraged that the Kings where set free as she firmly believed that one, or all, of them killed their father. The celebrations of the village's 500th anniversary was in full swing. The Dingles and the Hopes were trying to sabotage each other's floats and celebrity guest Katherine Jenkins found herself covered in champagne, thanks to first time bartender Jonny Foster, and was in need of a new outfit.
Robert grows concern for Aaron as his court day approaches quickly and learns that Aaron is more worried about who will look after Liv while he is inside. Robert plans a surprise wedding for him and Aaron the day before his sentencing to give Aaron more security about their family. Robert, Chas, and the Dingles keep Aaron away from the Woolpack while they decorate it for the ceremony. Paddy expresses his disapproval when he finds out, but Robert doesn't back down and Chas convinces him to accept their marriage.
Jason first appeared in 1999, on his cousin Paddy's doorstep after his parents had thrown him out after he had told them he was gay. Paddy had told Jason to keep this a secret as Paddy's then-in-laws, the Dingles, wouldn't take it well. Jason later had an affair with Gavin Ferris, who had previously been engaged to Bernice Blackstock. Jason helps deliver Latisha Daggert's baby, and when he and Latisha realised her baby was a boy, she named him Kirk Daggert as a thank you to Jason.
As Aaron is giving his statement, Cain, instructed by Chas, has told the rest of the Dingles, Moira, Paddy and Adam about Aaron. When he is being questioned, Gordon tells the police that Cain tried to make him take his own life. The police arrive at Butlers to question Cain, but Chas and Moira give him an alibi. Despite Cain's newfound role as protector of the Dingle name, due to Zak's excommunication, Chas criticizes him, citing that he hasn't bothered even glancing at Aaron since finding out he was abused and is ashamed of him.
Donny secretly harasses Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and her family, ransacking the Dingle homestead and killing their pig, Gloria. Belle fears this is Lachlan acting through somebody else but it is not revealed who Lachan has working for him. Donny later returns to the village, setting fire to The Woolpack which has Belle and the Dingles inside. Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) catches him in the act and in an attempt to stop him, Donny stabs Vanessa and takes off with her car, unknown to him that her young son, Johnny, is in the back.
In early 2008, Sam was arrested for possession after Eli persuaded him to be his courier so he and Samson could live in the village. Sam was afraid he'd lose Samson when the police charged him, and ran away with Samson, but soon turned himself in. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only incident that alarmed the Dingles and Social Services - while living at Dale View, Samson had escaped and been run over by Val Pollard (Charlie Hardwick). She hadn't seen him because she had cataracts in both eyes and needed an operation.
On Christmas Day 2015, Belle reveals to the family that she had seen Zak and the lodger Joanie Wright (Denise Black) together, making Lisa heartbroken. Zak is then exiled from the family. Lisa's self-esteem drops to an all-time low as a result of the impending dissolution of her marriage, despite the Dingles' especially Belle's, efforts to support her. She is then knocked for six after Cain informs the entire family of a devastating truth; Aaron was raped repeatedly from the age of 8 by his father, Gordon Livesy (Gary Mavers).
After a conversation with Eli, who reminded him that Donna had forgiven Marlon for the raid on the bookies, Marlon agreed to give his marriage another go - on the condition that she never saw Ross again. Donna agreed, but she was certain that Ross was innocent and broke her promise to Marlon, visiting her ex-lover in prison. Meanwhile, the other Dingles remained hostile towards her and she got a very cold reception at Zak's birthday party. Surprisingly, Eli came to Donna's defence, for which Marlon was grateful.
Viv, however, declines and stays with Vic. In 1995, Viv is annoyed when Tina Dingle (Jacqueline Pirie) flirts with Vic and she bars Kim Tate (Claire King) from the post office when she and her husband, Frank (Norman Bowler), threaten them with eviction. After being arrested for standing at the barricades when Frank attempts to evict the Dingle family from their home, Viv regrets helping the Dingles and tries to make them leave the village. In 1996, after winning a dance competition with Terry Woods (Billy Hartman), Terry tries to persuade her to have an affair with him.
Eventually, Paddy went back to the art class and explained to Rita what happened with the number and she accepted it. They planned to meet but a prank from the Dingles caused Paddy to get stuck in the middle of nowhere, but Rita came to the rescue. Paddy and Rita finally went on a date but it nearly came to an abrupt end but Marlon's cab nearly hit Rita, only to be saved by Paddy. From then on, Rita wouldn't stop talking about her superhero Paddy and told him that she had told her parents and that they wanted to meet him.
When leaving Laurel and Ashley's (John Middleton) house, she is taken away by the police for not obeying her curfew. Lizzie moves in with the Dingles but outstays her welcome, annoying Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) and soon makes friends in the village. Lizzie makes friends with David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) and begins to support him in the upcoming council election, but when Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) offers her cash, she supports him instead. She attends a council function for the disabled with him but they are removed by security when she is recognised as a thief and her tag is seen.
In 1949 work commenced on building a new store. The new Dingles opened in September 1951, becoming the first new department store to open in the UK since 1938. The building initially had four floors and 148,000 square feet of retail space. The design, however, purposefully allowed for the future upwards extension of the building and an additional three selling floors were added to the store in later years. The business was floated as a public company in 1954, and entered a period of significant expansion during the 1960s, buying a number of independent department stores.
In June 2013, murder victim Alex Moss's (Kurtis Stacey) remains were discovered in the woods. Unable to identify it, Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) mentions it may be those of a poacher (Seth) who was buried in the woods, according to the Dingles. When Betty leaves the village in 2015 with her new fiancé, she visits Seth's burial place and bids a last goodbye to him, telling him that she will never forget about him. In May 2019, following her return Kim Tate talks to Lisa Dingle about her memories of Seth and says she misses him.
Amelia Spencer, played by Daisy Campbell, made her first screen appearance on 19 July 2011. The character and casting was announced on 3 June 2011. Amelia arrives at the Dingles' house with her aunt, Rachel (Gemma Oaten), after she accuses Sam Dingle's (James Hooton) young son, Samson (Sam Hall), of bullying her at school. Rachel makes Amelia say sorry to Samson when it turns out she was the one doing the bullying and is enrolled in the summer club run by Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and there, makes friends with the other children.
Jake Thackray and Songs was a six-part television series recorded in 1980 and broadcast on BBC2 in 1981, in which Jake Thackray and guests performed songs live in a variety of venues. A live album of the same name, recorded at the Stables Theatre, Wavendon, Milton Keynes, as part of the sessions for the TV series, was released on LP by Dingles Records in 1983. The album is currently out of print. All six episodes of the TV series still exist in the BBC archives with Thackray's performances and some of those of his guests released as a DVD in October 2014.
Tamaddon played Delilah Dingle in soap opera Emmerdale from 2005 to 2007. Her first episode was aired on 15 July 2005. Tamaddon was written out of Emmerdale in the summer of 2007 when series producer, Kathleen Beedles decided not to renew her contract but promised not to kill off the character of Delilah Dingle – leaving the door open for a possible return at some point in the future. Tamaddon has also appeared in The Royal, Where The Heart Is',' Ghosthunting with the Dingles, as Lulu on Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes, Loose Women and This Morning.
On her way to a call out, Gennie runs over and kills a sheep. She and Eli are arrested for stealing the vet’s drugs, but are released when the locum vet, Josh, explains that she was taking the drugs to the farm. After this incident, her mother again tries to persuade her to come home, but Gennie refuses, saying she felt she like she fitted in with the Dingles. Gennie gets a job as a machinist at Eric Pollard’s new factory, while Brenda starts working for Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) at the village post office and cafe.
Robert agrees to help Rebecca secure a business deal in order to help Aaron get a deposit for a house and is later delighted when Aaron, after a discussion with Rebecca which leads to them setting their differences aside, decides to use the inheritance money to buy The Mill. Robert enjoys his first Christmas with Aaron, Liv and the rest of the Dingles. With Rebecca's help, Robert plans a surprise trip to Vegas for Aaron's birthday. He meets Aaron at the pub but Chrissie attempts to ruin the mood by reminding Aaron of Robert's past infidelity and warns it will happen again.
The Windsors also faced competition from the Dingles when they opened up a fry up shop on a truck outside the post office. In 1997, Vic was shocked when Kelly started a relationship with her teacher Tom Bainbridge. Despite Tom nearly being the same age as him, Vic supported his daughter's decision and comforted Kelly when she returned and revealed that Tom had cheated on her with another pupil. The same year, Viv embarked on an affair with Terry Woods (Billy Hartman) after taking up salsa dancing classes with him, and she and Vic separated when the truth came out.
Lisa and Zak then get back together and in early 2018 Lisa, Zak and the Dingles protest to save their house from being torn down by Joe Tate. In May 2018 Lisa and Zak's relationship take a turn and Lisa tells Zak she has got a job offer in Scotland and has been called up to work there for a few months. In September it's revealed that Lisa is now travelling overseas and Zak offers to go with her so he leaves. In early 2019, it's revealed that Lisa has a deathly heart condition and hasn't got long left to live.
Zak goes to stay with Lisa in Scotland in October, later extending the visit into 2019. Lisa summons Charity to Scotland and informs her that she is dying due to amyloidosis, and wants her to write a eulogy for her funeral even though doctors say Lisa still has ample time left. Zak is aware of Lisa's illness and is apparently not coping, so Lisa urges Charity to avoid informing the rest of the Dingles, including Belle, of her condition. Zak asked Lisa to marry him and after only two days of planning they married on 23 May 2019 in the church.
The suburb of Billesley is the area bordered by Billesley Common, Chinn Brook Meadows, The Dingles and Swanshurst Park (although some streets within this area favour the broader B13 moniker of Moseley). The expansion of this area began in 1921 with the commencement of construction of the Billesley Estates. Two districts began to form within Billesley; one on the former Ivy House Farm (north of Trittiford Rd) and the other on the former Billesley Farm (south of Trittiford Rd). By 1926, between 15 and 20 families were moving into Billesley each week and it became one of Birmingham's first council estates.
The next day she returns to the village with all the French and English police looking for her, Debbie tells Charity and Cain the hit and run wasn't her and must've happened before she stole the car. Two men then turn up at the Dingles, and after tying up Sam, they kidnap Sarah and Jack, and demand £50,000 by later that evening. Debbie, Cain, Charity, and Ross manage to acquire the money by having Charity pose as Chrissie - even though the plan nearly failed after Charity shot herself with a horse tranquilizer gun. The men get their money and return Sarah and Jack in a tense standoff.
He hopes to gain custody but Rachel does not show for her trial. He persuades Sam to help him find Rachel but the Dingles worry that Sam is neglecting his son. Charity confronts Jai and he admits that he only cares about getting Archie back so Charity records the conversation and plays it to Sam, who realizes that he was being used and refuses to have anything to do with him. Jai sacks the solicitor he hired to search for Archie before a man named Mark (Chris Lindon), approaches him after seeing the appeal Jai set up - claiming to know where Rachel and Archie are.
George Mountford, in his article “Churchstoke and its Townships”, describes Bacheldre township as an area made up of woods, farmland and dwellings, and accounts for its cwms (dingles or valleys) and streams, the land rising towards the southern boundary. He writes “Between Offa’s Dyke on the one hand and Pentrenant on the other stretch 1,000 acres (4 km²) of first-rate agricultural land, divided up into well-known farms as Pentrenant, The Lake, Crow Wood, Bacheldre Hall and Bacheldre Farm”. In his paper, he includes a map of the township boundaries. This is also a map of Churchstoke parish in an article entitled “The Perambulation of the boundaries of Churchstoke Parish”.
Unfortunately the business is still in trouble as orders have dropped dramatically so Eric decides to close the factory and sell the sewing equipment. Unfortunately Val and the Dingles have already sold the equipment and used the money as redundancy payments. Eric plans to open a funeral parlour but the locals protest and David talks him out of it so he starts looking for a job. Val hears that Louise Appleton (Emily Symons) wants to sell her share of the B&B; and Terry isn't pleased to learn that she has sold it to Val and Eric, especially when they expect him to do all the work.
He was educated at Newcastle Polytechnic (now Northumbria University) where he obtained a degree in Physics and became a Chartered Engineer. He later studied for a P.G.C.E to allow him to teach. He spent ten years of his life in London singing as a resident in several of the folk clubs including ‘Herga’, ‘Dingles’ and ‘The Cellar’ in Cecil Sharp House and working in Engineering and Education but later returned to his native North East as a Senior Lecturer in Engineering at Newcastle College. In 1983 he and Johnny Collins, performing as a duo, won the Intervision Song Contest in Rostock, in East Germany.
Most major powers repudiated Cold War assassination tactics, though many allege that this was merely a smokescreen for political benefit and that covert and illegal training of assassins continues today, with Russia, Israel, the U.S., Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and other nations accused of engaging in such operations.John Dingles (2004) The Condor Years In 1986, U.S. President Ronald Reagan (who survived an assassination attempt himself) ordered the Operation El Dorado Canyon air raid on Libya in which one of the primary targets was the home residence of Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi. Gaddafi escaped unharmed; however, his adopted daughter Hanna was claimed to be one of the civilian casualties.
Months later, Belle finds horrid and creepy things on her doorstep and automatically assumes Lachlan is behind it. After Gloria the pig is killed, she arranges a visit with Lachlan to find out what he is up to. It emerges that Lachlan has promised his father Donny money to intimidate and get revenge on the Dingles. It is unknown what Lachlan was facing but it seems Lachlan was possibly charged with: 4 counts of murder, grievous bodily harm, kidnapping, false imprisonment, possession of an illegal firearm and other charges including: conspiracy to arson, attempted murder, assaulting a police officer and perverting the course of justice.
Zak arrives in the village in October 1994 and immediately challenges old bare-knuckle boxing adversary Ned Glover (Johnny Leeze) to a bare-knuckle fight, which he goes on to lose. Zak's family start a feud with the McAllister family over the death of his son, Ben (Steve Fury), following a fight with Luke McAllister (Noah Huntley) two months earlier. Despite discovering that Ben had a heart defect, the Dingles still blame Luke and force the family, except Luke, to leave the village. He is enraged to discover his daughter, Tina (Jacqueline Pirie) is in a relationship with Luke and attacks him until Tina tells him she is expecting Luke's baby.
The affair seems over, but Belle suddenly reveals she is pregnant with Bailey's baby, which results in him staying in the village after planning to leave due to the collapse of his medical career and marriage. Lisa mediates a reluctant truce between Bailey and the Dingles, and allows him to move into the home. Joanie asks Belle to be her bridesmaid and Lisa encourages an increasingly agitated Belle to do what she feels right, so she accepts Joanie's request, upsetting Lisa. However, Belle brings home the wrong dress from Joanie's hen night, and the day after, Joanie comes to pick it up and discovers it has a huge wine stain.
After Aaron's half-sister Liv Flaherty spikes her drink causing a near-fatal cardiac arrest, Lisa has her arrested, drawing the ire of the Dingles and nearly causing a schism in the family. Lisa ultimately decides life in Emmerdale is no longer enjoyable so she opts to leave for Scotland, where she takes a job as a youth counselor. She briefly returns a few weeks later to clarify to Zak that she still loves him but she cannot stay in the village and be happy. Lisa plans to return to the village when Lachlan White nearly kills Belle in September 2018, but this falls through.
Stenlake's career began during a trip to Rome when he was convinced to become an extra in a movie that was being filmed there - as a waiter in the Godfather III Stenlake is perhaps best known for the role of Constable Oscar Stone which he played in the Australian police drama series Stingers from 1998 to 2002. In 1997, he played Anthony Gibson in Emmerdale: The Dingles Down Under. Stenlake has starred in numerous other visual media, and also, theatre productions. Stenlake played Mike Flynn, the commanding officer of the patrol boat HMAS Hammersley, in Sea Patrol which first aired on the Nine Network in 2007.
Olena panicked, thinking they were after her and so Lisa covered for them as Sam and Olena fled into the woods but the police saw them and to give Sam and Olena a chance to get away, Lisa punched an officer and was arrested. Meanwhile, Olena and Eli were becoming closer and, seeing them having a laugh together, Sam was jealous. Olena confided in Eli that she although she was grateful for Sam helping her, she did not see him as anything more than a friend. Olena reluctantly moved back in with the Dingles, but missed living with Eli and Sam began to snipe at his cousin, thinking he was taking Olena from him.
A feud between the Dingles and the Andrews family ignited when Belle's boyfriend Sean Spencer (Luke Roskell) was found to have gotten Belle's friend Gemma Andrews (Tendai Rinomhota) pregnant. Lisa forbade Sean from seeing Belle again and forced him out when he visited to try to make amends. In April 2014, tragedy struck as Belle pushed Gemma over during an argument, and the latter banged her head on a stone, causing a brain hemorrhage which proved fatal. The two warring families then made peace after this event, but Belle was consumed by guilt and in July 2014, plead guilty to manslaughter after initially planning to confess to murder, but changed her mind at the insistence of Cain.
Cain had thought Shadrach was his father and after the truth was revealed, he was shocked to discover the man who'd brought him up was his uncle. The Dingles weathered this crisis, but when Zak went to South America in search of the Dingle fortune, Shadrach begged Zak's wife, Lisa (Jane Cox), to take him in. Sticking to the Dingle code of loyalty, Lisa agreed and Shadrach spent the next few months trying to seduce her and order was restored when Zak returned but Shadrach's behaviour continued to provoke disgust among his family and their neighbours alike. A life of heavy drinking took a toll on Shadrach and his daughter, Chastity (Lucy Pargeter), worried that her father would die of alcoholism-related illnesses.

Genesis "Gennie" Walker (also Pascoe) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera, Emmerdale, played by Sian Reese-Williams. She made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 1 April 2008. Reese- Williams announced her departure from the show on 12 May 2013 and she made her last appearance as Gennie on 26 July 2013. Her main storylines have focused on getting to know her family, the Dingles, which includes her birth father Shadrach Dingle (Andy Devine), developing unrequited feelings for Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw ), her relationship with Jamie Hope (Alex Carter), her relationship and subsequent marriage to Nikhil Sharma (Rik Makarem) and being murdered by Cameron Murray (Dominic Power) after being involved in a car accident with him and Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb).
ITV describe him as the "patriarch" of the Dingle family adding he is "Ostensibly a scrap dealer and pig farmer" although he spends "most of his time either doing nothing at all, or dreaming up scams and schemes". They also labelled him as occasionally being "a violent man" who is "prone to jealousy, however, he will do anything for a quiet life and a pint in the Woolpack!" Halliwell said that Zak was "brought in as a violent nutter, then after they introduced the rest of the family, this workshy, loveable rogue started to emerge, and they started writing more comic elements for the Dingles". Halliwell described the family saying they are "petty thieves" and "a bit part of the under class of life" who "still hold those old values that people are more important than money".
Cameron shocks the Dingles' and proposes to Chas and they get engaged. Cameron flies his sons over from Jersey to meet Chas properly but when the boys run and hide at Debbie's, Cameron begins to doubt his choice between Chas and Debbie but when Debbie kidnaps the boys and forces Moira to miscarry, Cameron is shocked when Dylan and Harry refuse to be in the same room with Chas as they believe she killed Carl and Cameron realizes he can never reveal his true secret because of the boys. Cameron and Chas aim to buy the Woolpack but when Cameron's ex-wife Anna refuses to let Cameron see his boys, they are forced to use the money to apply for custody. Cameron begins to feel sorry for Debbie when Andy takes Jack and Sarah away and the pair share a kiss but are almost caught by Chas.

After months of Belle's increasingly wavey and disturbing behaviour, Zak and Lisa discovered she had been hearing Gemma's voice in her head after she almost ran over Zak. This was found to be fueled by a drug addiction introduced to Belle by local teen Lachlan White (Thomas Atkinson). They pledged to help her when Katie Sugden (Sammy Winward) told the Dingles she knew of Belle's condition, but things went from bad to worse when Katie was found dead and Belle assumed bad events, such as Gemma and Katie's deaths, happened when she was around, and deciding the world would be better without her, almost jumped from the top of a barn roof, but was talked out of it by Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton), and caught by Cain when she lost her balance. Following this emotional rollercoaster, Belle was sent to an institute to help her problem, though she could not attend Katie's funeral, which upset her greatly.
